Hi!
This morning I did Rhythmic Step followed by SuperSets. MIC yesterday really tuckered out my quads, so RS and SS were the perfect workouts for today; nothing overly strenuous about them, for the legs at least. SS has some rather challenging bicep work, I find. I really like that workout; it's fun! I hope her newer weight workouts are as varied, creative, and fun.
Thank you for your various opinions about whether I should take workouts with me on my trip this week. I have decided that I will take the workouts, and do my best to fit them in, but not get bent out of shape about it if we end up being too busy. I have to bring my laptop along, anyways, to download the digital photos, so it's easy to throw in a couple of dvds, some shoes, 8lb dumbells, and an outfit. KPC is the perfect workout for hotel rooms/travelling. I hope KickMax is similar in that regard.
Sandy - I'm sorry I forgot to reply to your Sunday email! Yes, this is a very busy time of year for everyone, so it's probably a good idea to hold off on structured workout plans until the new year. That's great that IMAX2 felt so good for you! I hope we'll be able to say the same about IMAX3!
Laurie Mac - I hear you about how busy it is these days. If I didn't do my workouts at 5am, before the rest of the world wakes up and starts it's wailing demands, I would probably not get it in, either. The good thing about the holidays is that they are a nice break from routine, but the bad thing about the holidays is that they break my nice routine
Haydee - the PUB biceps are the hardest part of that workout, IMO. I think it's because she never puts the dumbells down between the hammer and traditional curls, so your arms never get a full break. With the other body parts, you at least get to put the weights down when you switch weights to accommodate the different moves. I love the burn in my biceps when I'm done this workout. I hope next week feels better for you! "High five" that you did the workout in the first place!! PLB's stability ball work is the most challenging part of that workout, for me, especially the hamstring work. Ouchie.
Oh Katie - I remember those days/nights!! It's amazing how little sleep parents of babies live on. The worst night we had with our little one was when she cut 4 teeth at once - including her first molar! She cried from midnight to 4am solid; we couldn't do anything to comfort her. That was on September 11, 2001; it's like she was in touch with the universe.
Jes - You bring a smile to my face every morning. You're one of those wacky people who sound like you can have fun not matter what you're doing. My ex-sis-in-law was from West Virginia, and she was very similar. She would do the most extraordinary things, just because that's how she wanted to do it. I really liked her; too bad my brother didn't :-( How exactly did a bee manage to sting you during between your workouts?? Are you doing them outside on your 7 acre lawn? Bee stings hurt like a *&?!#!@ I got stung a few years ago in the palm of my hand and it burned for hours. You're a tough lady! Enjoy all the gumboing! If you can do all that upper body work in one day, then my hat is off to you. That's some tough stuff you have planned!
Tammy - when you do the step portion of MIC, what do you use as a warm up? How are your energy levels today?
Annette - All this holiday food must be a challenge for you, with your limitations. I hope you're able to find a treat or two that doesn't mess up your system. And a store with 30 different kinds of Rykas???? How would you choose? That's something that exists only in my dreams........
Laurie - it sounds like you've been concerned about Elizabeth's friends for a while. Is she starting to see them in the same light you do? I'm happy to hear that your MIL's cancer is operable, although I imagine it's not going to be easy surgery. I hope she pulls through okay. And a hip replacement for your FIL too, huh? That's almost routine these days, but I know there's a lot of rehab that goes along with it. I wish them both the best. Your trip with your brother sounds like it was fantastic. We try to do the drive from Jasper to Banff at least once a year. It's amazing, isn't it? We're going to Jasper only this trip. We'll also be bringing along our skates, so here's hoping the temps don't drop too cold for all this outside activity.
Carole - running is such a handy activity for travelling, and if the town weren't covered in snow and ice, and dark until 9:30am, I'd consider it. When we stayed in a tiny, tiny town on the West Coast of Vancouver Island (hi Suzanne!) a number of years ago, we ran every morning. The town was so tiny that we had to run all the streets three times just to do a 30min run. I enjoyed it, though! I hope you get all that shopping done today.
Foodie Sue - winter driving is stressful, isn't it? Your comment about the snowshoing made me laugh out loud. NO I won't be snowshoing, thank you very much!! They forced us to do that in elementary school gym class every winter and I HATED it. Maybe because it did indeed make us work very hard. No thanks; I'd rather spend an hour in my warm hotel room, with great music and a happy smile on my face
Lisa - that is tragic news about your tape and your VCR! I agree that this is the perfect opportunity to start looking at DVD players........Excellent job on MIC!! Are your legs tired today?
Carla K - and what was your workout for the day? Not that I'm being nosy or anything.......
Mariángeles - do you celebrate Christmas? Do you get holidays from work this week? Your doing a great job in sticking with Cathe's rotation.
Take care everyone!
Sandra
