I sure did and was wondering if that was you. I wonder how much that one weighs. I think you should definitely move your workout space to the basement. Sounds like you're running out of room! I have a separate room and don't know what I'd do without it. It's like my sanctuary in there.

Tess - I think I read that it was 18 or 19 lbs. :)

Which one are we talking about??

I've been gone all day getting my hair colored & trimmed and came home to find this lively bunch of enablers.:7

RE: Tess and Deb!

Tess, all good to know! I seriously do have a space issue and will need to think about creative ways to rearrange my little w/o room (Debbie's oh-so-thoughtful suggestion about Alex's bedroom notwithstanding ;-)).

You got your 7' bar at Fitness Resource? I live near Perimeter Mall and there's one over there -- talk about your happy coincidence. :) How much was that bar, if you don't mind my asking? Is this the one that weighs 18 lbs? Did it come with any plates?

Yikes, I'm mentally 75% of the way to this purchase already. I am just a pitiful junkie!!!;( ;)

Tess!

It just dawned on me that "by the big chicken" is probably confusing to most people. ;-)

For you non-Atlantans, we have a vintage KFC here that has its original rooster-head-topped building -- probably circa 1965 or something like that -- and it is an Atlanta landmark because you can see its giant happy-chicken profile from a mile away. When you venture out to Marietta, Georgia (one of our suburbs), you'll likely be given directions that start with "Okay, ya know where the big chicken is? Yeah? So okay, go past it and make the next left." :+ :+

We Southerners love us some creative landmarks.

RE: Tess and Deb!

Wow, you didn't even put up a fight did you? :) Yes I got the 7' bar at fitness resource in buckhead. It is actually not quite 7' - it is 80". I got the 6' one first that fits on olympic benches but I didn't think the ends were quite long enough so I exchanged it. Yes it is 18 lbs and did not come with plates. It has the standard ends that fit plates with 1" holes. I already had a bunch from a previous weight bench and did not want to replace them with olympic size.

Edited - Oh yeah the bar was $40. Thanks for explaining the big chicken. :p

RE: Tess!

Did someone say donuts...um, I mean...what were we talking about?!:+

Oh yeah, now we are trying to enable Kathy S.! And it's well deserved. Ever since the other day with STS top discussion, all I've been thinking about is ordering the black Cathe tank top that Jai is wearing. Thanks Kathy!!

Melissa!!!

Melissa?!?!?!?! http://bestsmileys.com/sad/5.gif

OUCH OUCH OUCH, my friend!!! You're telling me that you are joining in with this shameless bomb squad of gleeful enablers who want me to buy another $250 worth of fitness equipment just because I EVER SO LIGHTLY recommended that you buy a little $30 fashion choice that I thought would look great with your blonde hair and pretty eyes???

Boy, I'm cut to the quick. ;(

To make this up to me, I think you should send me a little gift of some kind. Like maybe a 7' bar or something of that nature. ;-)

RE: Melissa!!!

Oh Kathy, I'm so sorry that I threw you under the bus!

But in my defense, someone mentioned the word "donut" and I must have blacked out for a minute! :7

And now after that compliment (thank you BTW), I'm off to order that top...
