Debbie! Help with quad work

Can you reccommend e-cises for to develop my quad muscles? I do squats/lunges for overall leg work but I'm looking for something to make me feel the work in my quads. I just don't feel I'm hitting them as good as I should be.

If you have access to a "machine" or some fitness contraption you can do leg extensions. They are great for the quad and depending how you position you feet you can target outer, middle, and inner quad muscles. I'm sure there are others, but that's the one that I like. You will feel it!

Good Luck,

Davina

I've tried the leg extension at the gym, but I've been experiencing pain in my right knee and it feels like it puts too much strain on my knee cap.

try this move from 4ds:

put your heels on a length of 2x4 board or on a pair of 3 lb. dumbbells...really anything to elevate your heels

got a barbell loaded to a challenging weight and bring it up in front of your chest/shoulder area.

now get squattin'!

i did this a few days ago and i am stingin' and burnin' now!

happy squatting!

I agree with Kate, front squats hit the quads like no other exercise, expecially the way Cathe does them in 4DS. However, it's hard to work heavy with this exercise because you have the bar laying right on the fronts of your upper arms. I've gotten many bruises doing this workout heavy. So go light and do many many reps. You will feel it.

Leg extensions are good too, especially when you hold the weight up for a count of 2 seconds.
