Good Morning Ladies!

Today I did GS legs to calves and then B&G floor work. It was a total of 68 min. I ran out of time, but will do KPC abs this aft. Today I am reading Dr. Seuss' Wacky Wednesday and we are dressing "wacky". So I have my clothes on inside out and backwards. I had to find some loose shorts to be able to wear them backwards!!;-)

Gotta run. I am late. I did post late last night.

Later,
Gin
Have a great day!!:) :) :)

Good Morning

Today I did the same workout as Gin:) I liked it, but boy was B&G hard. I felt like I worked my hamstrings the most! I hope I can walk today. I am really looking forward to PP upper body 3 sets tomorrow!!!

Gin~ I hope you hear good results from your moms tests. We do "wacky wednesday" also in school, for W week. Its fun. I hope you have a fun day.

Marcy/Tracee~ Hope you guys have a fun workout today.

Cheryl~ I think you may not be eating enough if you are getting dizzy working out. When you go shopping, try and think your meals for the week thru and that should help. I write out my meals on the calendar for the week before I go shopping, so I only get what I need. Feel free to post what you are eating if you think that will help.

So far this is my menu:
snack: 5 almonds in 5 dried apricots (eaten 20min. before workout)
bfast: 1 c. Kashi go lean cereal
snack: 1/2 Cliff builders bar

today is a really busy day for me, I will try to get back later...

Hi Girls!

Today I did GS Legs warmup, floorwork and stretch and the the Bun & Thigh Slimmer from Lara Hudson's 10 min. Rapid Results Pilates for a total of 47 mins. It was a good workout. So far I've done 2 of the routines from this DVD and it's really good. I also wanted to do the KM leg drills but I got up late. It's nice to get back to Cathe's leg workouts but I'm basically just going to stick to her floorwork and just a little of the standing work. I really like the stretch in this one.

Today's meals:

Breakfast - 8 oz. reduced fat chocolate milk; Fiber One Bar (ran out of time but was going to have Kashi Go Lean)
Snack - 5 dried plums; 1/4 c almonds
Lunch - Lean Cuisine Shrimp with Green Beans
Snack - Reduced Fat Mozarella Cheese
Dinner - London Broil and Asparagus

Gin - I wish I had you for a nursery school teacher. It sounds like you make learning a lot of fun. I'm glad your mother's feeling better. I didn't realize she was that far from you.

Cheryl - I'm glad the journaling's going better for you. I'm just starting to read (again!) the clean eating issue from Oxygen magazine. If you can't get this, I would try Tosca Reno's book about clean eating. I would recommend you try and get more protein in your diet. You should be eating a complex carb and protein at every meal. Some snacks that are easy are: nuts (I like almonds and cashews), reduced fat string cheese, yogurt. Maybe you could have an apple with some peanut butter. Did you get the pictures I sent?

Deanie - The push/pull premix is tough, but I liked it. I was hurting for a few days afterwards. I have to try the almonds and apricots. That sounds good.

Tracee: How'd everything go with your DS? Hope you're able to get in a good workout today.

BBL.

Hi girls! It's nice to be back with you guys. Today I did the same workout as Gin and Deanie and I agree the floor work in B&G is a real burner. I enjoyed the leg work in GS though because I had never done it. I'm always amazed when I find a workout that I haven't done before. Ha!

The team my son played with the last two days didn't do well at all while we were there. They are still playing but we had to come back home so my son could get ready to play with his original team in their state tournament this Thursday. I had a good time though because it was just me and my son and we had some good bonding time without the other two kids. It's nice to get that one on one time every once in a while.

Gin - sorry to hear about your mom's health. I hope the tests go well and they figure it out.

Deanie - I saw the picture of the ipod's and my sons saw them too. We were all very impressed. Those headphones looked real!

Cheryl - you should be very proud of yourself for working hard on your eating. I will say that you aren't eating enough based on the last post. I think you'll feel much better when you get more calories. I understand that it wasn't a typical day for you though so hopefully you are eating more on days where you're not that busy.

Marcy - Your meals always make me hungry because they sound so good. Yum. Do you enjoy cooking? I detest it and wish that I had someone else who would plan and cook my meals.

I'm sure there was more that I needed to respond to but I can't remember everything you guys chatted about the last two days so I'll end this now.

Tracee

Hi Tracee!

Nice to have you back. Sorry your DS's team didn't do so well. It is nice to have 1-on-1 bonding time. It doesn't seem to come around too often. I didn't think my meals sounded that great but I'm glad you like them. I do like to cook but I admit I've gotten lazy. Now that almost all the kids are out of the house, it's hard getting used to just cooking for two. I'm glad you had a good workout.

Marcy

Hi Again!

I forgot to mention I did my first close grip overhand pullup today and also one reverse grip chinup. Legs & Back from P90X is where I had most of my gains with chinups. I like this combo of body parts so I think when I do Cathe's leg workouts, I'll insert the chinups/pullups then. Her upper body ones are so exhausting, its harder to have the energy to fit them in then.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Deanie--I have kickbox DOMS in my arms from yesterday AND am already sore from this morning's leg workout. I am an ouchie mess!x( My mother left a msg. on my recorder that she is home from the hospital! Yeah! I will call her in a minute.

Marcy--Thanks for the compliment on teaching. I try to make learning fun. This little one week class is heavy on the fun side. WTG with the pullup and chinup. WOOOHOOOO!

Tracee--I don't like to cook much either. I made an easy WW chicken caccitore in the crockpot this morning if you'd like that recipe. My kids would eat it when they were younger. Glad you had a good time with your ds. State tournament???? Now that sounds serious.:7 I saw your precious picture of you and your kids. What a good looking family. You all look so happy and I love your toned arms!

Cheryl--I read your post yesterday listing what you ate...not enough food, girlfriend! No wonder you were dizzy. Hopefully you will feel better today.

today's menu so far--
B-2 high fiber low fat pancakes, 1/2 c. nonfat plain yogurt with 1/2 scoop Whey protein powder, orange
S-1/2 protein bar
L-1/2c. cottage cheese with chopped peach, 1 c. veggies
S-1 c. v-8, cheese stick

I am hungry now for something, but need to do my KPC abs first.
Gin

Gin - Glad your mom's coming home from the hospital. Love KPC abs. Can't wait to do them again. What workout are you doing tomorrow? I'm doing Supersets Upper Body 2x (hopefully it won't be as bad as Push/Pull Upper Body 3x (that one was tough!) and ME Abs.

Marcy

Marcy--I was planning on doing PP upper body 3x, but I am scared if YOU thought it was tough. Mybe I should re-think this and do SS upper body 2x.???? What to do????
Gin

Gin - Didn't mean to scare you but it might be because I hadn't done an endurance workout in such a long time. I also never did that premix before nor have I ever done the SS premix before although hopefully it won't be as bad.

Marcy

Hi Ladies!

I didn't get up early enough to work out, so i had to do it after work. I did B&G and I'm feeling it. Good thing I'm home and don't have to walk anywhere - haha!

Today's menu:
B)Special K Protein Bar (what's your opinion on these?) / coffee
S) no time
L) Turkey artichoke sandwich...it was really good. I read once that if something tastes good, it probably doesn't fall into the 'clean' category...well, I tried :)
s) coffee - my afternoon pick me up
d) special k protein bar - I was still pretty full from lunch.

Gin - you're a nut! I love your titles :) Question...in your opinion how different is GS legs from B&G? Should I purchase it? I didn't at first cause I thought they looked very similar. Let me know your thoughts.

Marcy - Laura Hudson huh? Never heard of her. You like her though...hmmm, I'll have to check her out. I didn't get your pictures and I'm worried I gave you the wrong e-mail address (i just got it). did you send it to [email protected]?? I'll check out what you suggested for eating. I think I'm just 'lazy' in that dept. You think cooking for two is hard...try one! It's like "what's the point?" :)

Deanie - ugh...I know. I just need to stop being lazy. How is it that I can work out and follow that but I can't plan a menu? It baffles my mind x( I'm a snacker really...I don't like to sit down to a meal (that's my problem). I'm always on the go. I like the suggestions you all have. Never tried the apricots though. My mom would flip if she knew I was going to try something she always wanted me to eat :7

Tracee - I think you may have said something before, but what sport does your son play? Sorry to hear it didn't go well...hope he's ok. I agree with the bonding time. I don't have any kids, but my sister's feel like my own and I feel like I can never give them enough individual attention. Three cheers to all you awesome moms! You're right about the eating, I think there is also that fear of fat in me. I know I have to eat more but fear keeps working itself in...rats!

Ok, I realize I should end now. Sorry that my posts are so long, but I can't make all my little comments during the day. :p

Have a great night all!!

CC

Cheryl--
B&G seems to be heavy on the lunges while GS legs is more overall legs. I think the other ladies on this thread like L&G the best of the leg workouts. B&G definitely has that "ouch" factor for me! They are all good really!
You are still not eating enough. As far as the Special K bars....I have never had them, but just look at the label. Look at not just the amount of calories, but is it low in sugar? High in fiber? Is there a long list of ingredients that you can't pronounce? Anything else in the turkey artichoke sandwich?
I probably wouldn't cook just for myself. But a lot of times at night I will just have a smoothie or a bowl of oatmeal with fruit or a Boca burger and veggies..something real easy.
I sure hope I am not coming off as being to bossy. I'm just hoping to help you out.:)
