Dancing with the stars

Did you watch it the last two nights? I think the super model will be leaving. She is not very talented and personally I did not know who she was, so I dont think she will have the fan base needed to keep her in the game. The race car driver is very good, dreamy accent!!! What happened to Wayne's face, it looks a little stretched.

I am surprized at the talent all the dancers have this season. Almost everyone is good. I can tell that many will be even better as the weeks go on.

I think this year one of the women celebrities will take the trophy home.

Hi Carmen,
I saw a thread on Dancing with the Stars yesterday so I tivo'd it last night and got a season pass. I missed the first episode but when they showed a recap of the ladies first dance, I was floored. I think there is a lot of talent and a lot of personality in this group. It looks like a fun season for sure!

I agree with you on the talent and who will be kicked off. Did you see the way she kept making faces at the camera when she didn't know they were there?

Re: Wayne's face, I think he has had a lot of work done. On a dancing level, I think he won't make it very far, but like Jerry Springer last season, his fan base will probably carry him through the competition until close to the end. He won't win.

I think the women have a very good chance of bringing home the trophy this time too.

I think Mark Cuban or Josie will be leaving. I agree the women have some strong competitors this year but I think Helio has a very good chance of winning.

I agree that this year there wasn't an obvious stinker ala Master P or Kenny Mayne. I'd also like to see Josie go. I'd love to see either Jane Seymour or Marie Osmond go far because they are a bit closer to my age, but Wayne Newton looked downright scary!

I thought Albert, the model, was really good (and cute!) with his Elvis routine. I live near Memphis and love anything Elvis.

I taped the episodes, and finally watched them.
I think the only really bad dancer was Josie (it looked more like her professional partner was pushing and pulling and dragging her around than leading her!), and she's gone.

I thought the "Cheetah girl" did a great job--good hip action, speed, crispness--but they didn't need to add in those hip-hop moves.

As for Wayne Newton's face: that's not Wayne Newton, that's his look-alike from Madame Tussaud's wax museum! }( (Didn't it seem like the judges were a bit too lenient/kind to him? Almost like they were afraid to offend him--maybe because he's so stinkin' rich and/or influential?)

They respect him for his history in entertainment and the fact that he has remained a "class" act over the years as well. In my book, that is something to be respected for in that business.
He knows he is not going to win, but he is going to be one of the couples that you look to see what they are going to "attempt" each week, and that is great for ratings!

My money is on Sabrina and Helio at the moment, with an edge to Helio, who just may well be the best thing in tails to hit the screen in years! That man has charisma!

The slow dances are the true test - flaws cannot be hidden by fast movements and the steps cannot be "faked". The waltz, etc. totally exposes mistakes in form, etc.

This is the best season, imo, and the quality is really good, these people are working hard, and it shows!

I agree with Conni - slow dances will test everyone's mettle. Hip-hop and waltz don't exactly go together so it will be interesting. Even though I loved Sabrina, Helio's my favorite as well. He was so smooth. He looked like he's been dancing for years. There is a lot of talent this season and I think everyone's loving what they're doing and willing to work hard for it.

Wayne Newton does alot to support the US troups (alot like Bob Hope did), maybe the judges appreciate that and want to be nice to him? I only saw a clip of him dancing, didn't look very pretty. He's old though, at least i think he is, so that may play into it too. I know that asked Larry King to be on, but he declined.

If I had to choose now, I'd say Helio will take the trophy. (That is after thinking a girl would def take it after seeing them perform the first nite.) I am amazed at how much talent they all have for the first go-round! Blew every other year away IMO. I liked Albert, the model too...thought the Elvis act was really good. I was disappointed to see the billionaire in the bottom two...there is something about him that I really like..his personality reminds me of Joey Fatone...always smiling & having a good time! It's going to be a great season. http://bestsmileys.com/dancing/7.gif

On TV a few days ago Jane Seymour was telling a reporter she'd lost something like 16 pounds from Dancing With the Stars, and Marie Osmond said she'd lost 4 inches. Excercisers, what does that tell us??? Anyway, I thought that was very cool.
