Damage Controllers on Tuesday. What do ya think ladies, yay or nay?

Good Morning Girls. :)

I have off from work today so I say YAY for Tuesdays! ;)

We ended up going out for dinner last night. I was in no mood to be in the kitchen AT ALL last night. Not even to make sandwiches. LOL We went to Applebees and had the 2 for 20 special they are running. 1 appy and 2 entrees off a special menu for 20 bucks. Good deal. I researched a bit before leaving. None of the choices were great but I decided to go with a burger entree that (supposedly-I never know how accurate the calorie claim is when it's not posted by the restaraunt itself) came in around 500 cals. Lots of fat though as you can imagine. We split a buffalo wing appy but I only had a few pieces. I didn't touch the fries that came with the burger and ordered water to drink. My eating was very light all day long so even with this meal, my cals and ratios were still OKAY. We ate an early dinner and I did not snack later. I was very pleased with myself. All that being said, I up almost a pound this morning because of it but hey, I expected it. No biggie.

Today's work out is Tone It Up. I realized I probably won't be able to do Insanity tmrw as I am going out with DS, my mom and my uncle who is still in town from FLA. We are going to a zoo and then meeting DH and my mom's SO back at her house for dinner. I'll be gone all day long. Unless I find a STRONG lighter to light a fire under my arse early tmrw morning, it ain't gonna happen! :p That being said, tmrw will likely be a complete rest day and Insanity will have to wait a bit longer. I also need to get a run in...perhaps I can double up on the work outs today since I am off so that the run is done atleast. (sorry-thinking out loud! LOL)

Jacque:: Oh I am sure gardening is a work out! That's why I don't do it! :p I only say my weight will go up a bit because the loss appeared to be too fast to be "for real". I have hit new lows before that were flukes. This may be one of those too but that doesn't mean all is lost. I am closer to my goal then I've been all darned year so I am very happy anyway! :)

Diana:: Yeah, if it's water weight n such the weight can come off pretty darned fast...but not always. I've struggled with temporary gains. Sometimes it takes days to get rid of it. :confused: So have you met with the NC again lately? What's the latest on the scale? Lost any more weight? Sounded like the plan the NC gave you was working! I hope you can reach your goals! Oh wait! What am I saying? You are the proud owner of a GWF now. You will DEFINITELY reach your goals now!!! :) Good job taking care of most of the garage. LOL about the pink striped shirt. Sometimes ya just gotta roll with it. Perhaps he'll see the error of his ways once you get the pics back. ;)

Good Morning!

Can you believe I am here first thing in the morning?:p I set my alarm to go for a run and I slept right through it! I was hoping to be back from a run before DH went to work but that isn't happening now! I may get my sister to watch DS today while I go. Its raining out so it really isn't good weather for him. Plus....I don't mind go'in it alone!

Ugh....I am on DH's laptop and the keys are so touchy! I could be in mid sentence and I end up at the top or the bottom of the page for some reason! Whats up with that???? I have to type very lightly! haha!

Yesterday ended up being a rest day but on Sun I did 20 k. I felt great though. I think I could have went further. We ran to the closest little town and DH picked us up. Im not sure how long it took us, I didn't bring a watch. We were going slower then normal though b/c my friend is training for a marathon and I think she is trying to set a new pace for herself. I think if I ever did a marathon thats what i would have trouble with. I run the same speed all the time but the furtherest race I have ever ran was 20 k so if I had to double that, I would have to slow it down!

I am hosting a jewelry party here tonight so I have housework to do today and a few dips to make. Im going to get started on the dips now so they will be done. I think my sister wants me to do her hair as well.

Work is kinda up in the air. There are only 2 girls left so we are trying to figure out a schedule that works for us....should be interesting. If we can we may even try a week on, week off. It would be a long week but it would be nice to have a week off as well.

Wendy** I hate cooking on Fri's, I don't know what it is but Fri seems to be a takeout kinda day! I have to figure out something quick for tonight as well cause the party starts at 7:30 so I need to have my kitchen nice and tidy before everyone gets here~

Im not sure if I will bb today or not. DH will be taking his computer to work and I have lots to do. I may not bb until tomorrow morning~

2) AM: Insanity / PM: Tone It Up

I hope you get a good amount of sales so you can get something NICE for free out of it! :) Sorry you slept through your alarm but you must've been tired. You needed the sleep so it's better that you didn't run. Slowing down for a marathon is a must or you'd never make it. Gonna do a full mary one day??

Good Morning girls!

I'll apologize in advance for this hit and run post, but this week is ridiculously busy at work here. I've got meetings all day on Friday, and the schedule is chuck full, so I'm swamped trying to prep for them. Hopefully I'll get a breather on Thursday and spend the day tying up loose ends before the meetings, if everything goes as I plan ;) You know how that is...:rolleyes:

Anyway, just want to report that yesterday's workout was Mix It Up, and I "warmed up" with a 20 minute two miler on the treadmill beforehand. This morning was the same 20 minute run followed by Tone It Up. My lower body is really feeling these SS workouts :D With Wendy's great success from these, I've decided to ride her coat-tails and give 'em a shot for a couple weeks. We shall see how it goes!

Sorry for the lack of personals :eek: I've been able to keep up on the reading but haven't had time to post. I've had appointments after work as well, including one tonight. I'm hoping to make it back here this evening, but if not, hope you all have a great day!! BBL or tomorrow~

Good morning ladies !

Well I only had 5800 steps yesterday and the cals were just over 2K didn't leave me with much of a deficit. Still no weight loss showing but I sure am eating much more. Hopefully I can get my metabolism up a bit and finally drop at least 5 lbs.

Diana - great job on the garage. I think ours will take a few weekends ! :eek: Haven't gone through it since we moved in 9 years ago and have added quite a bit. :eek: Woo Hoo on the step count too ! ITA -wish there was some way to add some extra steps at work but I already take enough breaks just going to get my water and hit the "head" due to the water ! ;) May have to stop veggie at lunch time - the GWF isn't showing really large cal burns for the amount of exertions some workouts take. Think you might agree if bootcamp last night only butned 400. Guess that is an awakening and what many people have said in articles. Hope your Clean Max continues at a great pace ! :p

Wendy - I was gonna say #2 ! I love the Applebees special. I like the oriental chicken salad - DD loves the artichoke spinach dip. Yum. Think you probably just had a bit more salt than you are used to. Even when I get a salad with chicken and a viniagrette dsg I gain abit. Sounds like a fun time to be had tomorrow - lots of steps will be included I am sure ! Be nice to the animals ! LOL !:D

Lori - good to hear things are going well. Still running every day even in the rain huh? Interesting concept to work a week on a week off. It would be heaven around here - I'd love it since it wouldn't be that much of a change for me. Heck I'd even go for 4/10's. Enjoy your jewelry party tonight. Is it Cookie Lee or something else?

Jen - bummer you are so busy but good to hear you've been keeping up with us ! :p That is usually what happens to me. Take the time to read but not to chat. Just can't get myself to stay away. Guess that is a good addiction though ! :rolleyes: Great that you are enjoying SS and sure hope you have the same results as Wendy. The 2 mile warm up sounds good. May have to keep that in mind to get the steps in.

Hi Ladies,

I'm up quite early today since I didn't go to be until 1am. I was trying to watch all my missed recordings. The temps are supposed to in the upper 80's to mid 90's the rest of the week. Fortunately the rest of the planned work will be inside. I hope to get DH to help re-arrange the basement today. I think we will find a lot of stuff to donate, and maybe even some to sell. Some extra cash would be good right about now.

Wendy-You have a wonderful day planned. I'm sure Joey will love the zoo. Glad to see you chose option 2! I want to know if it is still as insane the second time around. Enjoy your day!

Lori-What kind of jewelry are you selling? I've been invited to a Silpada party at the end of the month. I'm not big into jewelry but I will probably go and buy some jewelry for Christmas gifts for my nieces or sister. I hate running in the rain...Hope you get your work schedule squared away. I would love to work every other week. It sounds like you work a fair amount of nights and weekends too though and are on call too.

Jen-I'm loving the GWF now that I've got it mostly figured out. I love the charts and graphs and the fact that it can be downloaded to excel! Nice job getting those workouts in. I'm sure you will be prepared well in advance of your Friday meetings.

Jacque-We didn’t really get rid of too much stuff from the garage. More or less making room for some utility boxes that DH put in the garage, taking up a bay but not being used. Now we can get another vehicle in the garage and not have it sitting on the street. The basement will be another story. I think we will find a lot of toys and things that aren’t being used. Even some tools etc that DH can sell, I hope. As far as the lower cal burn of bootcamp class, it’s not a steady state class, it’s really made up of a series of drills. We did 3 min drills at 3 stations and then took a quick water break. The next set of drills was 3 min, 2 min, 1 min, 30 sec, 15 sec…. Then we repeated this drill with different exercises for each time increment. Then we went back to the 3 min drills from the beginning of class but also did different exercises at each station. We finished with a thorough core segment and nice stretch.

Hey Girls.

Half of my work out is done though I admit to reversing the order. :p I wanted to get Tone It Up done first for 2 reasons...

1) I wasn't ready to get Insane yet.

2) SS is my primary routine right now with everything else being "extra" so if I'm going to get lazy or whatever and not do something, I prefer it be the "extra". Nice excuse, huh? ;)

All that being said, I am actually gearing up to get Insane soon. I figure the sooner the better. I'm gonna needs lots recovery time! LOL

Jen:: Nice job with those 2 milers before the SS work outs! I would say sorry you are so busy but you thrive on that so I'm not sorry! LOL Actually, I am only because that means you have less time to hang out with us! :) Hey, we will have to take our cameras to CT with us! Must take pics to share with our girls when we get back!

Jacque:: Sorry you were lacking in steps y'day. I've been lacking in that I haven't worn my ped in weeks! :eek: I am sure things will get going with the weight loss. What kind of exercise routine are you following these days? Perhaps it's time to change it up??

Diana:: Considering this will only be my 2nd time and since I did Tone It Up already, I am pretty positive that it will be just as insane this time around! I will report back as soon as I can post-work out. If you don't hear from me for a full 24 hours then please send help! LOL I hope you accomplish alot in the basement today. The high temps are for the birds these days and we are getting some nasty humidity with it. UGH! Stay cool!

Hey Girls,

Back to report my official workout is done...GS Legs and Cardio Kicks. I HAD to do Cardio Kicks since I just got..ordered it again from Cathe. It has been years, literally. I never did this particular w/o a lot since the cal burn seems pretty low for an hour long w/o. However, it does have a lot of kicks that should help with DOMs from GS Legs.

I need to get showered and then DH will help me rearrange stuff in the basement. Not sure if I mentioned that our basement is only partially finished...in the fact that it has walls and over head lighting. The flooring is only indoor/outdoor carpet over cement. For my w/o area I have puzzle mats over the carpet. Someday we would like to completely finish it including the laundry room. Well DH probably doesn't care about the laundry room, but I do!

Wendy-good job getting both those workouts in today. Have you decided to buy Insanity? Definitely, you and Jen should post pics from your ladies weekend!!!

Diana:: You are lucky to have a basement! I don't have one. Just a crawl space. I am seriously deprived of storage space!!! :mad: Definitely taking a camera with me! I found out today that it has a self timer on it so Jen and I won't even hafta always bother strangers (who will probably think we are nuts after hitting a few of those bars!) to take pics of us together! :D:p

Jen:: I think we need to take pics at every bar with every drink! What do you say? We don't have a lot of time so I am bound and determined to make it as much fun and as interesting as possible!!! You game!? :D BTW, I keep meaning to ask you-do you have a facebook account?

Well DH is gone for the evening. He left earlier then usual for bowling tonight. He is going out to dinner with his buddies first. DS and I already ate so that is out of the way. It's always simple and easy when the man isn't around. I ate a lean cuisine meal and DS had scrambled eggs, some cut up fresh veggies and a piece of toast. I will probably have a salad in a little bit as well.

Tomorrow I am keeping Joey out of summer camp. We will spend the day with my mom and my uncle from FLA. Should be fun and will be a rest day which is why I went looney tunes with my work out today! ;) I must say, it was TOUGH but doable. SS is not as energy sucking as other weight work outs can be yet it gets the job done!

PS: Pure Strength is on sale this week! I don't have that! Should I pick it up??
 
Hi ladies,

The basement is almost done! Thankfully Jerod remembered he had football just in the knick of time. It was 5:10 and he had to be there in full pads at 5:30.

Jerod and I can finish up the basement tomorrow or whenever. It is much more livable now. He likes the family room area with all his games etc. We also set up one of DS1 stereo systems so he can have music too. There is plenty of room for the WII, guitar hero, rock band and the WII fit. He decided to leave the ps2 hooked up to my workout tv at the opposite end of the basement.

I've been spending my down time from cleaning-shredding old documents and taxes. We sure have collected a bunch of stuff over the years. I wish I could do a better job staying on top of it and not have to spend my vacation cleaning and decluttering. We can't really afford to go anywhere and we are doing things that need to be done anyway so I don't feel too bad about it.

Wendy-I wouldn't have a workout area if I didn't have my basement. Our first house didn't have a basement and it was a tight fit for our family of five in a small 3 bedroom house. I'm so fortunate to have the house we have now. Of course I would love granite countertops and the latest updates etc but we can do those later.

DH is cooking ribeyes on the grill tonight. They should be delicious.

Diana:: Luckily I have a work out space. It's not nearly as big as I'd like but it works! When we finally put our house up for sale and start looking for a new one, I will not consider ANYTHING that doesn't have more storage space (closets, garage, basement), a dining room or LARGE eat in kitchen, and last but definitely not least, it MUST have a good sized space for me to work out in and keep all of my equipment in! Enough room for a treadmill too would be the ULTIMATE! :D Yes, I am getting Insanity (changed my mind!) but not sure when...
 
Hiya girlies !

Well done with my workout today. Whew - I just hate it when B&G is followed by a high step workout. Have such a hard time getting up there when my legs are feeling mild DOMS. For an old step tape and for it being pretty simple and slower beat it was a killer. Can't wait to see the step count and cal burn on it. As soon as DH gets off the computer :rolleyes: which could be tomorrow ! :confused:

Diana - well at least you were off so you could sleep and not be too tired today. Did a great job getting garage done - I'd love to put our "new" car in the garage before it gets ruined. Already has to sit out all day long at work. And it would be nice to get into a car without frost all over it during the winter. ;) Glad you are enjoying the GWF more now - I love playing with the graphs and am just about convince that my 8-5 job burns about 700-800 cals avg so think I may start wearing some cooler clothing and just wearing it the remainder of the day, then input 700 for M-F workdays. I'll check it another day and average the 5 days I will have worn it. 100 cals won't make that much of a difference in the long run. I only had 6 hrs of sleep last night - must have tosed and turned the last hour in bed cuz it didn't show me as lying down? :confused:

Wow what a workout you had - cardio after legs? That would keep me from walking the next morning. And then you cleaned the basement. Man I bet you are feeling pretty cheery right now with all the work you have done the past couple of days. Wanna come to CA for a couple of days - I know a lady that has a garage . . . :p I hate all the paperwork too - that is what I have at work and it is enough of a pain keeping track of paperwork for 200 ees payroll & benefits let alone my own ! UGH and it just waits until I feel like it (or the stack is so high that DH starts knocking it over ! Ha !)

Wendy - ahem - so you think you are sly saving Insanity for last? I think we caught on there young lady ! :rolleyes: Hey, nice avatar. Wish it was just a wee bit bigger - you look so slim and toned ! ;) Guess we can see a bit better when you and Jen go play for a weekend, right?

Well after work I was only up 1 lb and usually it is 2 - 3 so maybe drinking lots of water and having to go up and down the stair to get around the paint at work helped? And today's workout was a 60 min step routine so was sweaty and most likely had lots of steps. Counts should be better today - I'll go lower on the cals like a stagger day and we'll see. I'm doing Cathe's July 09 rotation which is Butts & Gutts and it switches around a bit over the month. Two leg days, some step/cardio/interval, and a FB each week. We'll see how it goes. I know I did Pure Strength a bit ago but don't remember it. Stronger Legs & Abs is on Week 3 of my rotation but I am just on week 1 right now. Need me to preview? I could pop it in and walk on the TM for a bit one of these days?
