Hi ya peeps!

I got to sleep in until 7am this morning. Go me! :rolleyes:

Last night was fun. BF and I went to an "old haunt" for dinner where I ordered a cosmopolitan and she ordered something called a blue flamingo. Well we didn't realize that she had ordered a "fish bowl" drink. OMG! The glass was bigger then the purse I was carrying! 60 ounces!!!! Needless to say, I drank my cosmo and then had to help her drink hers and I was all too happy to do it too. ;) After that we walked around outside for a while until she felt safe to drive home, went back to her place and hung out and BS'd over coffee for a bit before I headed home around 12:30. We were supposed to get ice cream and ordered a small meal to make sure we had room but by the time we finished that fish bowl we were too full! :p Oh well, there's always next time!!!!:)

Jen:: Yes, if PUB gave you DOMS then you did just fine! So you are still on board for Shape It Up today? I'm debating wether to do some cardio too. If I do, it'll be short (20-30 mins). Feel like I should try to burn off the alcohol damage from last night. :D I truly did not over-eat at dinner though which is amazing for me.

Diana:: Sorry you missed BC class. How did the review with your new boss go? So did you figure out how track your cals during a work out using the GWF info??

Jacque:: Good job with BM2 girl! LOL about you being the psycho from Amazon! I emailed her back and set her straight. I got another response from her and she had changed her "tune". She didn't apologize for being a creep but atleast her tone was different and she stopped "yelling" at me and accusing me of being a crook. I was getting ready to go to Amazon for help with this one. Hopefully I won't have to now. :rolleyes: As you can see above, I sure did give in to the cab and loved every minute of it! :D

Lori:: Sorry about the belly issues. Bad bellies and running sure don't mix. :( Good job signing up for that race again but you are mean for convincing others to suffer with you! :p I ran 5 miles on Thursday, btw.

Good Morning DC'ers!!

So Happy it's Saturday! Like Wendy, I slept in a bit this morning, too, 'til 8 am, which is still kind of early for me ;) Just had breakfast and am heading out for a workout in just a few.

Wendy: Yup, I'll be doing Shape It Up with you today. I can't remember how long that one is. Are you considering additional cardio because it's short on that? I guess I'll decide on that one afterward. The Blue Flamingo sounds interesting. Sixty ounces, though? Hoooollly crap is all I can say about that :p I think it was very good of you to help out your BF. That's what friends are for ;) Well, you may have opted against the ice cream, but I picked up the slack for you! DSO went out and brought back hot fudge sundaes nearly as big as that Blue Flamingo, no kidding. They were enormous. And delicious! But I didn't eat the whole thing I'm happy to report, and pretty much just ate the whipped cream and hot fudge. Still have a bunch of ice cream in the freezer now :rolleyes: which is dangerous.

Jacque: Great job completing BM2! That's a huge difference between the GWF and HRM! But still a great burn though. Sounds like your having fun with the GWF so far. I look forward to hearing about your SS run today.

K, off to get into the workout clothes before I get too lazy or the kids start asking for stuff :rolleyes: Will BBL~

Morning ladies !

Posted last night so nothing else to add other than I am up 1/2 a lb from yesterday. UGH after a pretty good workout and eating well - topped off at about 1400 cals. My burn was 2140 so what gives? Yes, becoming obsessive I guess ! :eek: I noticed my calves were "inflated" yesterday afternoon and DH put too much salt on my burger last night so perhaps that is the issue. I'll try to keep to between 1500 & 1700 and see how it goes. Add in lots of water today too.

Wendy - sounds like a very fun evening you had there. LOL about the Fish Bowl drink ! Was it Hypnotica or blue cacao to get the coloring? Good job on the eats young lady ! You are doing so well - that's what happens when you make progress, huh? :p Have fun with SS today.

I need to catch up on tons of work around this house this weekend after being away for two weekends. Hoping to make some great progress - wish me some hard work ladies ! ;) Will get a run in there somewhere too.

LOL about eating Wendy's ice cream but sounds delish ! Like the fact you ate the toppers and not the ice cream itself ! Yummy is all I can say. I don't crave sugar at all but put it in front of my face and Watch Out ! :p

My lazy azz has done NOTHING but eat breakfast so far this morning. UGH. :rolleyes: I've been online farting around and texting with a friend all morning. I've decided to get my cardio in first via a run at the gym. I'd rather just stay home for all of it but I am here alone with DS and he likes to play at the gym so I will take him. I will probably wait to do SS later after DH gets home.

Jen:: If you haven't looked or started your work out yet, Shape It Up is one of the longer work outs but I don't remember how much cardio is in it. I just add cardio to them arbitrarily for all kinds of reasons. Today it happens to be just because of my alcohol consumption last night. I "gained" 2# from it! :eek:

Jacque:: FWIW I think perhaps your cals are too low?? If you are really burning that much then perhaps you should up your cals a bit? Or maybe you need more fat in your diet? The fat approach seems to be working for me! LOL

Okay if I don't move my rump NOW, I will not being going anywhere and then DS will get upset. MUST...MOVE...NOW! :p

My run is done...20 minute interval run...next? Shape It Up ofcourse! Just not sure quite when it'll happen...:)
 
Good Morning Ladies,

Well I slept in a bit today... not really since I didn't get to bed until after midnight. I tried to get DH to take me to the truck & tractor pulls and the local fair but no dice. I took Jerod instead and we had a fun time!

Today I have laundry to take care of. I'm also making a list of all the stuff I want to get done this week. DH doesn't have the whole week off so I want to make sure the things I need his help with get done. I also think we decided to move Zach's room down to Cody's (on the main floor), move Jerods room to Zach's, and then use Jerods room as the office. I would prefer the office/computer be on the main floor, but it doesn't make sense for Jerod to stay in his small room that he's outgrown. Zach and Cody's rooms are both good sized and Cody's has a walk in closet.

Not sure what my workout schedule will look like. I'm a little behind on the rotation I started. I could double up on some of the w/o's, start the rotation over, or just pick up from where I left off. Decisions...decisions...!

The review with my boss was fine and we discussed a promotion. I basically have to do a bunch of stuff and it could take 1, 3 or 5 years to move up one grade level. I asked when this new process was implemented because one of my coworkers who hasn't even been with the company for 3 years has already received 2 promotions, the last one was only about a month ago. He said just a couple weeks ago and the girl that was promoted did not have to go through all this stuff. This kind of stuff really pisses me off.

Wendy-I think I can track my cals burned using the gwf but it looks like you have to wear the display durig the w/o to do it. Otherise, when you upload your data to your pc it shows cal burn per min during the activity and I would have to add up all those numbers to see the total of the hour long w/o. I'm not very happy with this purchase. I'll give it another week and try to figure it out...if not, I'm selling it. At this point in time its more trouble than it's worth..IMO. I do have to say I don't even notice it on my arm anymore. I actually find myself reaching over to touch and make sure its there. Sorry about the amazon issues. Hopefully that is all squared away now.

Jen-Wow, you have a lot of self control. I'm sure I would add chocolate to the left over ice cream and start again! I hope I figure this thing out soon. I'm reaching my frustration limit. How does the GWF now what my calorie consumption actual is if it doesn't let me put it in each day? I would like to take my cals from fitday and put it the gwf software so I get an actual (my real actual) data. I know this is a valuable tool and I want it to work for me. It would be nice if the gwf site had forums where I could find all this information.

Jacque-did you look at the activity calculator on the GWF site? It shows that I would burn 528 cals for an hour long cardio w/o. That is about what my hr monitor would show also. The heavier you are, the more calories you burn simply because you have more to move.

Lori-I think its great you've recruited some friends to run the race with you. They can look it up online if they want more information about it. You should at least be nice enough to let them know they should train for it. Hope it's not too busy at work.

Time to get off my duff and get something done.

Diana:: Thanks for the GWF feedback...I know how I am...I will get uber frustrated if I can't figure it out within 5 minutes and never use it. I can see it now....I will spend the money on Insanity instead! ;) :) And if I do that I will still have enough to buy the "fitbit" as well! :D
 
Well, Shape It Up is done :D Then the kids and I went out to walk the dog for a while. I think I got about 2.5 miles in that way. With all the housework I have to do today, I should be in a decent deficit today. That's to make up for last night's splurge :eek:

Diana: Sorry to hear about your GWF frustrations. When I set mine up, I just entered a daily estimate of what my calorie consumption generally is. You don't have to wear the display to calculate calories burned during your workout, you can also play with the slider function on the graph and find it out that way, too. For instance, if you know you started your workout at 10 am, you can move the slider on the left to 10:00 and then move the slider on the right to whatever time you ended the workout. It will display the number of calories burned during that time span. As far as entering the total calories consumed, I need to look it over again. I totally agree that there should be a forum for this! However, I know there's a very extensive thread here: http://forums.jpfitness.com/fat-loss-troubleshoot/35615-gowear-fit.html

It's loooong, but if you have a few extra minutes, I think you'll find a lot of answers there.

Wendy-I'm just one person....don't base your opinion on just my situation. It has such great reviews that I know I will love it if I can just figure it all out. Insanity looks great to me too!

Jen-I've been trying to use the slider but it's not working for me...I think I will peruse the forums as I think they will have the most answers to my questions. I so want this to work for me.....and I'm not usually so technically challenged.

Wendy - LOL about farting around on the computer - that was my Sunday last weekend ! Good job getting off it and finishing your run. ITA on the cals - IF the cal burn showing on GWF is correct it is a little too high of a deficit, but really would = 1.5 lbs per week at about 750 deficit. Not that high, but maybe for since I probably only have about 5lbs of leg/butt fat to get rid of. :confused: I do eat 25 - 25% fats already: beef, fish, low fat cheese/cottage cheese/olive oil, avocado, PB (that is my "candy") so thinking that isn't the problem. Will go a bit higher for the next couple days and see how it goes. Sometimes I'll see a bit drop after a 45 - 60 min run and then it will go back up a bit with a weight workout. Guess that is natural. Also just stopped BC pills to take a blood test to see if I still really need them or not. Getting old just sucks so make sure to put all this info away for down the line ! :p

Diana - sounds like you had fun last night at the "pulls". Pretty amazing to watch those things. Lots of to do's on your list for the week, huh? I wish I was that motivated. I still need to "transform" DS's room a bit - DH has been eyeing the wall space to hang his Hot Wheels - I guess better in the "guest room" than my bedroom where they are "happily" displayed right now ! :eek:

I did wear the display (clipped to my shorts) to figure my cal burn during workouts and using the trip button. This computer is so S L O W I was too impatient to check out the estimates, but I with the 459 cal burn for the 1 hr 30 min workout I still hit almost 220 cals for the day. That is pretty much what all other calculated estimates I have played with online show. Some up to 2400, but that's estimating about 500 cal burn for most of the more intense workouts. I am not as frustrated with the GWF as becoming obsessed ! :rolleyes: (I'm sure you can tell by my posts). Actually I am really hoping I can make some sort of progress which I haven't been able to do up until now. Really need to prove this OB who said I will only continue to gain WRONG ! ! !

One thing that seems interesting is that when I wore my HRM for 24 hour periods it was not that far off for an entire day's cal burn - was showing just over 2,000 once I changed my RHR. Perhaps GWF averages the actual workout and the afterburn effects over a longer time frame whereas the HRM is figuring it out for the actual time of the workout? Who knows - I am not sure I really care as long as I make some progress with GWF assistance. :D

By the way, did you notice you can export to an excel file? That is how I will be totally tracking my results using Fit Day. The only thing I don't like about their nutrition tracker is it takes too long to scroll through all the listed foods. Other than that, you can add your own custom foods.

Jen - good job on the workout and walk today. Perhaps if you all say it is time to do chores I may actually just get that far. ;) Aha, so I played with the graphs a bit this AM but didn't realize there are two sliders ! That should be cool. Did notice that I had about 4 hours during my sleep time that burned 1.1 cals where most of the rest was .9 cals. Was that a long hot flash ? ? ? LOL ! Thanks for the website thread - will definitely check it out.

OK - done with breakfast (pretty good since it is only 11:45 AM !) Was making with my pancakes, some berry "syrup" for them and cleaning the kitchen & fridge. Time for some sunshine & weeding ! Run will be a little later today.

Hi Ladies,

I did Leaner Legs and KPC today. The GWF measured 169 cals for the Leaner Legs. I don't wear my HR monitor for weight work so I don't have a comparison. The GWF measured 548 cals for KPC, the HR monitor showed 573. That's not much of a difference IMO.

Although I tried using the trip button, when I looked at the calories after the w/o it was 1075...not sure where that come from. Fortunately I wrote down the start and end times from the GWF so I could use the website. I got the slider working too! I also found the excel download, very cool feature and will definitely be utilizing it.

Jen-thanks again for the forum url. Lots of little tidbits of information!

Jacque-I'm becoming more comfortable with the gwf. I've been reading the forum link from Jen and it looks like most folks use their own nutritional software, (dailyplate, fitday). Seems to be pretty common. Which we could upload our data...how cool would that be.

Wendy-this thing is really growing on me...you may still want one. I can't believe, knowing that cardio is not your thing...is caving for Insanity. However, I know you love doing short interval/high intensity w/o's. I'm asking for Insanity for my bday.

Sounds like everyone wants to clean today...yuck. I've only done laundry. The house isn't too bad but could use some picking up. We had it looking pretty spiffy for the appraiser. He didn't really care much though, he cared more about the size and structure. If all goes well, I should hear early next week when our closing is.

Back quickly to report that although I did Shape It Up, I did NOT do it in full. I needed to cut it short to get dinner ready so I skipped the floor portion (sorry Jen! :p) but I DO intend to do it tmrw! I will do the warm up and floor from Shape It Up before continuing on to Firm It Up. :) I am also considering taking a class at the gym in the morning. DH has to work (a rare Sunday O/T opportunity!) so it'll be just me and DS tmrw. Perfect time to take a class! I have to check but if they offer the kick class then that is what I will shoot for!

Gotta hit the bed now but I'll be back in the morning!
