I had planned to do another run today and disc 25 but I didn't know that the weather is suppose to be the pits for the rest of the week. I don't mind running in the rain but its comming down in sheets, so I have a feeling I will be hitting the TM today for some hills. I will probably do a CC.

Wendy** So whats for breakfast???? I may have a nice bowl of oatmeal, me thinks!

LOL Lori. Sorry but I was HUNGRY! I had an english muffin with natural p/b on it. YUMMY! :) I don't know if you've been keeping up with the latest on the thread but I've recently lost weight and do you know how I did it? By UPPING my fat intake!! WOO HOO!

So today I'll be doing TLT "Finding your Core". We'll see how that goes. I am trying to decide if I should go to the gym for Centergy this morning as well or do some cardio. Decisions decisions. :D I have a little DOMS from y'day's TLT so I'm happy about that. :)

Jen:: If you would prefer I will keep my Insanity comments to myself. I'd hate to influence you like that. :p I have this strange feeling that I will end up being TOTALLY sucked into trying a REAL Insanity rotation at some point, no matter how much I say it's not for me. :D

Lori:: Yes, Insanity is the new BeachBody program lead by Shaun T. :D AE jean? Never heard of them. I'll have to look 'em up!!! ;) So why do you hate to online shop? Is shipping too much since you live in Canada? I LOVE TO ONLINE SHOP!!!! We'd probably have lots more money if the internet were never invented! LOL

Diana:: Let us know how you like the yoga class. So will you be doing Yoga X when we do the X? I was thinking about that. I'm not sure what I will do. I guess it'll be a surprise! LOL Sorry about the lawn mower/missed work out fiasco. I hate when stuff like that happens. Frustrating is right!!!!

Jacque:: LMAO at your TM run vs Insanity work out comment. I don't know girl....perhaps when I get Insanity I will have to pass the preview disc on so you can decide for yourself...;) Yes shipping is crazy $$$ unless you go thru a coach. I have a coach so I autmatically order through him anyway. Better service if you have questions or a problem or something. Do you have a coach?

Looks like that catches me up. No more stallin'...time for a work out!

Good Morning chickadees :D

I didn't workout this morning. I got up, put the workout clothes on, put the sneakers on, went out the the garage, pulled out Mix It Up, and put it right back. Then I took out Drillmax, after Diana and Lori's chatter about it yesterday, and scrapped that idea pretty quickly, too. So I turned around and looked at my treadmill...and felt nothing but dread! Thought about hittin' the road for a quick run, and the body just wouldn't cooperate! :mad: So there you have it - no workout for me today.

If I'm super ambitious after work, maybe I'll go for a run, but I'm just not feelin' it right now.

Wendy: Now, now...don't make promises you can't keep ;) Talk all you want about Insanity. The masochist in me must know!! I know it's only a matter of time that I get it. However, I'll feel better about it if I know my fellow workout junkies recommend it. Hopefully Diana will take the bait soon, too ;)

Lori: Good of you to keep Wendy in line ;) We don't want her shirking her responsibilities! I made the mistake of running on my treadmill when my daughter was barely two and she managed to get her hand stuck in the belt. THANK GOD it turned out to be only a bad scrape and she didn't lose any fingers! Still, it waas pretty bad. Never made that mistake again!

Diana: Sorry to hear your workout/lawn mowing plans didn't work out for you last night. I know how frustrating that is, and I approve of your remedy :D So when do you think you'll be going for Insanity?

Jacque: My legs really leaned out when I went from the shorter, intense cardios to the longer, steady state cardios. Every body is different, but it seemed to work for me. Now if I could just get my diet in check the rest rest of me might just follow suit :rolleyes: But man, I've been bad lately! Today is day 1 of diet detox for me though!! (Wish me luck ;)) How'd sushi night go? Sounds like fun!

Morning girlies !

Woo hoo - it's like Thurs for me as I took a 4 day weekend anticipating an anniv weekend (ours is the 25th) but think DH has other plans with his hot wheels ! :rolleyes: So extra workouts and straightening up - following Diana's lead there ! :p

Tonight I'm going to a "Linked in" presentation in order to try to network a bit more since it looks like our Corp offices will be moving 30 min south - if I go 30 min north instead I can find better opportunities and possibly something a bit more interesting - at least different . . . Workout will be dependent: may start GS Legs at lunch but not sure I can finish - also need to pick up my car 1/2 hour away after work. Then again, my legs are a bit sore - could take a rest day today cuz tomorrow I'll have more time and will be off on Friday.

Wendy - can't wait to hear about Insanity - I am probably thinking just like Jen. I don't have a coach - may be asking you for details on that one a bit later. Funny, but fat is so important after all those years of Low Fat nutrition plans, huh? At least the good fats which are yummy anyway !

Lori - hope your workout plans figure themselves out for you ! ;) Do you have CCPP? I love the hills/sprint combos on that one.

Jen - LOL about getting all ready, popping in a couple of workouts and nixing it. You are smart to just go with what you feel (I know I've sat down at the computer a few times and never left to do my workouts ! :eek:) I haven't been where I like to be for a few years, but running and freestyle type workouts helped me lots. I was feeling like my leg muscles were "drooping" a bit so am planning on hitting them hard for a month and then Cathe did a rotation (aug 09 I think) that switches up the type of workouts on a weekly basis. That is on the planning board for next month. Then I'll probably go back to freestyle/running more. I have lost 1/2 inch in the last week and a half so that is good.

Im sitting here in my workout clothes, sneakers on....waiting for DH to come home so I can go for my run. Im guessing disc 25 will have to be done tonight after DS goes to bed.

I have had a very productive day so far. I have my closets cleaned out, dinner ready to go in the oven and upstairs cleaned. I still have to do kitchen and rec room at some point in time.

Wendy** I have started eating a few almonds a day and I am seeing bit of a difference as well. Not in the scale really cause I don't care if that changes or not, Im fine where that is to. But my midsection seems to be a little tighter and I don't crave things like I use to.

Jen** Uh man...once I am out of bed I have to workout. Did you go back to bed, or did you stay up? I usually lay there for a while and if I don't go back to sleep, I will get up and workout. But once I am up, I have to workout b/c I will be kicking myself later for getting up so early and not working out. Will you workout later tonight? I can relate to not feeling a workout though.

Jacque** Woo Hoo on the looong weekend! I on the other hand am working all weekend plus the girl i work with wanted mon and tues off b/c thats what the other girl (who just left) was covering this month. I told her that I would do it but Im just going oncall, Im not actually going into work unless I have to. I have fun with GS legs if you decide to do it, its a goodie!

Jacque: Your long weekend is making me green with envy ;) I could soooo use one of those right now! But I'm hesitant to take any time off just yet because I feel like it'd appear a little irresponsible, seeing I just got back to work after a couple long absences. Congrats on the 1/2 inch! That's just enough to make the pants more comfortable, isn't it?

Lori: I had the same thoughts as you...I was ticked at myself for getting up when I did! I should have decided last night not to workout and then I could have taken advantage of that extra sleep time this morning. I didn't go back to bed. Instead, I cleaned up my house before work. That's actually going to make me feel pretty good when I walk into a neat house tonight, so it wasn't a complete waste. However, my closets could use a good cleaning...how long would it take for you to get to Massachusetts :p

So far, so good on the eats today :) Gotta stay away from the pretzels :rolleyes: That's my nemesis!!
 
Hi ladies,

I couldn't sleep again last night. I'm only averaging about 5hrs of sleep per night. I wonder if this could be hindering my weightloss efforts. I was up early to be to work early for a conference call.

I find myself looking forward to yoga at lunch today. I'm not feeling very energetic today so this might be the best choice for me. My 2+ mile walk is good for 5K steps so I may have to find a way to fit that in too.

Wendy-So, what was for breakfast? Not sure about yoga x, it's such a long workout but I guess doing it every other week might be fine. I can't make any promises though. Guess I need to print out some more X sheets to keep track of my progress. AE is the American Eagle brand. Do you have American Eagle in Jersey?

Jen-i've had mornings like that also. I hate when that happens, especially when I'm all dressed and ready to go..but just ain't feelin' it. At least you took advantage of your time and got some cleaning done.

Lori-hope DH gets home soon so you can go for your run. Hopefully the rain is over too. Wish I was as motivated as you are. We never did get to the closets but maybe this weekend will be good for that.

Jacque-Do you have a profile on LinkedIn? Who knows, maybe we're already connected and I've forgotten about it. I don't get there very often either... I see others' have found you on facebook. I got my DH started and he's on there all the time. He's reconnected with a bunch of friends from high school. He's much more of a social person than I am. Hope you can drag DH away from his hot wheels for an anniversary celebration of some sort. Do you work in the your corporate office?

Wendy .. did you end up ordering Insanity the whole series???? or are you waiting .. told you TLT DOMS would sneak up on ya!!! ;) .. so upping fat intake promotes weight loss??? Well dang I should be super skinny any minute now ... :p

That is my SIL B-day .. we are going to the lake to watch the boat races this weekend .. and celebrate her B-day on the island .. (more CABS..:eek: .. it never ends) then MY b-day is coming up SEPT 25th!!! woohoo .. another celebration to look forward too!!!

Lori .. I need you to come to my house and get my stuff organized after you finish with yours :p I NEED to do my closets SOOOOOOO bad .. and my workout drawers too .. YIKES ..

Di .. I am not sleeping well at all .. my problem is my big babies .. since we are home they are sticking like glue to me .. LOL .. We shut the door .. but he sleeps right at it ..and SNORES .. OMG .. real bad .. and last night he started scratching and his foot was hitting the bottom of the door w/every scratch :confused: sounded like someone banging on my door .. scared the crap outta me .. LOL!!!

Last night did plyo class .. it was AWESOME .. 60 minutes of full out sweat fest .. and muscle burnout .. DOMing in the legs, buttocks and ABS REAL bad .. did some new AB exercises .. OUCHIEWAWA~~~~~~

Ok .. better run .. taken forever to write this .. have a great day and great sweaty workouts!!! Getting my hair done after work .. low lites to tone down my sun bleached hair .. and a much needed cut!!! :D
 
Diana: I've read a lot about how not getting enough sleep can really hinder weight loss. There's something about a hormone that regulates hunger levels (soemthing called grehlin, or something like that) that goes wacky without enough sleep. I know my appetite is always monstrous on the days I haven't slept well.

Laura: Another Sept. b-day! That makes three of us! Enjoy having our hair done. I have an appointment tomorrow myself, just a cut though. I don't let him color my hair because he's so damn expensive and he always gives me a hard time about it :mad: Good thing I've known him long enough to know when to ignore him ;)
 
Well after climbing the stairs a few times and getting up (very slowly) out of my chair I am deciding to take a rest day and not do GSLegs today - I'd be rushed and the workout scheduled after GSLegs is IMax 2. That will be killer on the legs yet again. A day off between these two heavier legs days will be good ! Yep - that's my story . . . and you know the rest ! :p

Sounds like I might take my DGS1 for a couple days? DIL not getting sleep cuz DGS1 is up at night and she has DGS2 to care for - he's just 4 months old. If DH doesn't have much planned, I'll go for it - I wanted to go to a local aquarium that has a seahorse exhibit - that might be fun for DGS - or we have a local kiddie type amusement park in town that would be fun also. We'll see how that pans out.

Jen - I did have fun at sushi last night. We have gotten together at least once per year in celebration of the life of one of our dear friends who passed away 2 years ago. Crazy but two of us had grandkids at the same time - mine a day before and hers the day of our friends passing. Reminded me of the circle of life - one in and one out. OK, that brought chills - this friends was very dear to me when I was going through my divorce, his daughter and my son were "a couple" in elementary school ;) and we ran across each other a lot as he was one of the DaddyMoms while his wife was off doing other stuff. OK - that was a long explanation for I had a good time but we were a fun group - would play hockey for 2 hours and then BBQ in the parking lot or at least have chips & beer for a bit before we went home in the wee hours of the morning. Fun times ! ! ! And yes, nice to have the looser pantalones - I have noticed that even though the scale hasn't tipped a ton yet. You will get there - I can have some great days but then get busy and don't make good choices either. I try to stay away from the kitchen ! :p

Lori - good job getting housework done - guess you and Jen were on the same wavelength today ! :p Hope you get your workout in as planned - nice you can just be on call rather than have to go in for the entire time.

Diana - Bummer about the sleep - I have gone through that many times but more due to hormonal changes I think. Agree you should take it easy, but perhaps look into some natural ways of inducing longer sleep patterns? Not only does it stress the body like Jen mentioned, but then you suffer in all other ways as far as productivity goes too. There have been a few threads lately on the subject with many good tips and things to try. Sometimes the oddball schedules can do it too - with you having to get up early here and there - the body starts going wacky since it doesn't have a rythym or sleep pattern. Hope you figure it out soon. I haven't really played much on FB yet but did find my old best friend all through school and a couple of my athletic buddies too ! I could spend all day but still need to come here and get my workouts in first ! Priorities you know ! ;) I'll check with DH soon to see if he wants to celebrate this weekend or next - course if I take DGS1 that will make a difference to. Either way I have long weekends for two weeks in a row ! Woot woot woot ! :eek: I am in our corp offices so would be commuting if we move. It would be a great business move - but with my feelings about my work and where I'm going in the future I need to make some choices pretty soon so think I'll prep myself just in case.

You know I for one am a mother hen so just worry about my chickies when I don't hear from them ! :p Yep, sounds like the 25th is a popular #, my last DGS was born on 4/25. :D Ahh yes, the never ending CABS right along with the never ending food - deadly combo ! LOL - my fur baby does the same with her paws though I usually have her next to me whereever I am. All of a sudden I think someone is in the house but NOOOOOO - it is Zellie scratching the couch, closet doors, wall, etc. :confused: Good to hear you had a great workout last night - that should help with all the Crap today. And then a nice relaxing hair appt - do they have CAB's there too? :eek:

Time to eat lunch and get back - may not be back but will at least pop in at work to read. Man have y'all noticed how chatty we are getting? Can't take too much time away or it takes waaaayyyy toooo looooonnnnnggg to catch up! I LOVE IT ! ! ! :D

Hey Girls.

My Insanity is already on it's way! WOO HOO! I should have it by next Wednesday!!! :D:D:D

So I did TLT: Finding your Core this morning and really enjoyed it-even more so then y'day's work out I think! This one has no "cardio" in it which was more to my liking. The work out was done with the stability ball and weights. I found most of the moves to be quite challenging. Three work outs down and one more to go... :)

I had decided to forgo cardio for today so I was going to hit the Centergy class this morning but decided that I wanted to get Chuck E Cheese hell over with as early as possible (LOL) so I went there with DS instead. Yeah, I promised him we'd go. Dumb move, ey? :p So anyway, I may leave my work out at the TLT or I may go to the evening Centergy class which is at 7:30. We'll see how my evening shapes up...

Jen: OMG girl, have I had days like that where no matter how hard you try, you just can't force yourself to work out! I think it happens to everyone once in a while. No worries. Perhaps you'll be inspired to go for it after work and if not, that's okay too! :) K, just remember you told me to talk about Insanity. I don't wanna hear you whining that now you just HAVE TO buy it cause I "talked you into it" or something! :p LOL

Jacque: There are BB coaches here on Cathe who will be glad to have you sign up under them I am sure, or, I can get you over to my coach. I am no longer a coach so I don't care either way. Just trying to save you a couple bucks in shipping cause I KNOW you are gonna be ordering sooner or later! :p Hey pretzels aren't so bad. Could be lots worse you know! ;)

Oh I am eating almonds and pb like they are going out of style these days! :p I am continuing to track my cals and macros and my fat intake now hangs around 30% instead of the usual 20-25%. Ofcourse I try to eat mostly good fats but hey, if it's the end of the day and I have a little "room" left, I admit to eating an extra "treat" once in a while too. Hasn't hurt me yet so I guess I haven't gone overboard with it and I am very happy with my results thus far! :D My midsection is also tighter and flatter then it used to be and everything just looks a bit smaller/leaner. My clothes are looser too! WOO HOO! :cool:

Diana: I may try to get back on track with a weekly Centergy class again instead of doing Yoga X. The class is 60 minutes long and with the drive there and back will take up just as much time as Yoga X but me much more enjoyable. :) Yup, we have AE here. Never looked in that store at all though. My nephew is apparently into AE though as I bought him a giftcard for either his last B'day or Christmas from there. That's what he wanted. Sorry about your sleeping troubles. I hate when that happens. :rolleyes:

Laura: YUP YUP YUP! The whole Insanity series chic! I didn't order the deluxe set, just the regular one. I am sure it will be more then enough INSANITY for me! :eek: LOL about the fat intake! Go figure why you aren't disappearing before our very eyes! :) It's okay though with all the exercise you get I am sure you look great despite that southern cooking! ;):)

Jacque: Sounds like you lost a very dear friend and I'm sorry for that, but I'll bet he has a hand in gathering you all together every year :) I'm sure he's very much there in spirit with all of you! How old is DGS1? I'll bet if you have him for a few days your GWF will be smokin' ;)

Wendy: I don't care what you want, I'm still gonna whine about it :p right up until the time I buy it. And yes, I will blame you. Let's just get that on the record so there are no surprises or misunderstanding :D;) Love the new avatar too!
 
UGH - just came upstairs again - YEOWCH ! ! !

Thinkin' possibly a 30 min walk on the TM to loosen up a bit and that should help for tomorrow?
