Damage Control...Week of May 1st!

Thanks Wendy. I feel same way. I do want to wait for a couple more weeks before I decide what to do. By then I should know if the promotion will be coming or not. The card sort is basically 67 cards that list competencies. (Lominger is the name of the card sort protocol) You have to group them in to 3 categories, then based on your results you may be given an "action plan" to improve your competencies, or it can be used to get a promotion. Unfortunately, of all the promotions that were given last year (in my dept), not one person I asked had to go through this. I'm not sure if its illegal, but they are definitely making me follow a different path than anyone else.
 
Well Diana I certainly feel for you and wish you the best. I hope that if you can't get some where with this company that you are able to find yourself a job elsewhere that makes you happy and pays you the $ you deserve!!!!! ((((hugs))))
 
Hi Girls,

This morning at work was busier...not b/c of what I had to do but b/c of the amount of people that were here:mad: Was driving me crazy. Everytime I turned around there was someone else in the building. I like it nice and quiet.

My workout wasn't a crazy one this morning. Felt like I needed a lighter workout b/c I have upped my running a little bit over the last week or so. I did 10 mins on the TM and did LBB mixed in with some bike rides.

Diana** There is nothing worse then waking up with a headache IMO. There usually isn't any way of getting rid of those kinds of headaches. MY MIL made the comment yesterday about me needing the extra income from PT to make up for what I am missing at work. She is really bold when it comes to that kind of stuff and its rather irritating. Weather its true or not it is none of her concern. I was watching "the voice" last night. Thought forsure it was gonna be over by 11:30:confused:

Lori:: How did you like "The Voice"? I keep meaning to watch it but keep forgetting. :confused: I need to DVR it I think...If I can remember to set the DVR!:p I am usually closing my eyes by 9-915 so 945 is late for me especially cause I get up at 4:30 but I think I require more sleep then you anyway. My DH got me hooked on yet another game for my Ipod Touch which is why I went to bed so late. I already have a few word games I like to play but he finally downloaded his first game and now I'm playing it too. GRRRR. It's called Angry Birds. It's one of the most popular games actually but I had no interest in it before he downloaded the darned game! GRRRRR! Joey loves it too! LOL

back to reality .. back to work .. UGH .. and we are shorthanded AGAIN *sigh* and it is first of month .. kinda crazy!! I am tired from my adventures .. but slept like a LOG last night :D finallY!!!!

Di - sounds to me like bidding on that job is no brainer!!! Go for it!!! do you have an "employee concerns" dept? sounds like if you are being singled out and treated differently it needs to be brought to someones attention ...

Wendy - glad you are feeling better - and yes .. I love the slots .. we have a great time .. I would rather win .. but if not I still have fun!!!

Lori - that is a good deal if your hubby wins money and you get to spend it .. YA .. I like that!!! my DH would never go for it tho

Went to bed a little earlier last night but not as early as I should have. On a brighter note....I read a chapter in my book!:)

I have no clue what workout I am doing today. Everything hurts now! LOL

Wendy** I like the voice. Not sure how many singers we need in this world though. Each coach needs 8 singers on their team to work with and they have those picked now. What happens next....I have no clue! I use to love playing games on my phone but I kinda got out of it.

Laura** At least you have a short work week. Could always be worse....you could have to work 6 days straight like ME!

Good Morning Ladies,

I finally had a good nights sleep. I'm trying not to stress about my work issues, taking more of a whatever will be...will be outlook. I've been busy updating my resume and my LinkedIn profile. I've been contacted for jobs via LinkedIn in the past so feel it should reflect my current skill status. I'm also taking a LinkedIn class at the community college on Saturday.

My legs are still pretty sore so I'm opting for KPC today with weighted gloves.

LauraT-we have an HR dept. that will listen to my concerns, but they are for the company, not the employee. At least that's been my experience in the past. Don't forget, they were probably short handed when you were on vacation too.;)

Lori-hhmmm, at a loss for your workout....everything hurts, have you considered taking a rest day!;) Probably not I'm sure, but it may be worth considering. I saw you booked your trip...yaaaayyyyyy.

Wendy-what w/o do you have on the agenda? My DH play Angry Birds all the time. Someone from work downloaded it to my phone, but I finally just removed it since I never play. I'd be more likely to play soduko. DS3 loves it too.

Hey Girls,

I had a good workout this morning, I felt strong and full of energy. I did CM2, 4DS shoulders, 20 mins on the TM and 4DSBC. I could have easily kept going but I had to get ready for work...:mad:;). Oh well...pays the bills and the lulu bill!;)

I went up in weight for shoulders. For the 2nd round I always use 15 lbs db's , this time I used 20's:) I had the 15's close by but didn't need them. I think my shoulders and abs are the only things that weren't hurting! LOL

Diana** Sometimes you have to think that way or you may lose your mind! I always think that things happen for a reason. The car we were looking at sold and DH was rotted. He was mad with the lady at the bank who was suppose to have a loan in place by the time we got back from DR. When we got back, she was on holidays, then Mon she was sick...and then Tues the car sold. They didn't know we were interested though. DH was upset b/c it was a nice car for a good price, while I was thinking that I bet something better is headed or way. Or maybe I didn't care b/c we already owned a car very similar and I don't care to have another one like it! LOL Everything hurts b/c I went heavy this week....but you are right, I probably do need a rest day.

Good Morning.

My butt and legs are on fiyah from D20 y'day! :eek: I could feel the DOMS creeping in last night. That's NEVER a good sign! :p

This morning's work out was KCM Circuit Burn 30 minute cardio only premix + abs and the STS Extended Stretch. The cardio alternates standard cardio drills with boxing combos so I decided to try out Cathe's 4# weighted glove set. OHMYGOD! :eek: I was ripping them off my hands before the cardio was even half way over! LOL I let the burn retreat and then put my 2# set on to finish the work out. Me thinks I need to work up to the 2# in each glove. I will be backing those down to 1.5 pounds a piece next time! :p Great work out! I was a sweaty exhausted mess when it was over. ;)

Lori:: My Touch is still new. Got it for Christmas. I am sure I will grow tired of the games too but not yet. I play on it every night in bed while DH is watching tv. I'm addicted! :p

Diana:: Soduko drives me batty. :eek: I love word games though. I play scrabble on words with friends with Jen (Irishrose), I downloaded crosswords, a word find type game and some other word game that I don't quite understand the point of so I never play it. :rolleyes: I have only downloaded the free apps/games so far. You are really making the effort to put your best foot forward if you need to find a new job. Good for you! I sincerely hope it works out for you in the end! I wish you all the luck in the world!

LauraT:: Don't you just hate reality!? :p I know I do. I love to escape it every chance I get! ;)

Hey back at my desk for one day - well got to class last night and the stupid stereo system wouldnt work :mad: it is ONE thing AFTER ANOTHER at this gym :mad::mad::mad: I am SO OUTDONE w/it ... I am back to saying SCREW it .. too much of a hassell .. and of course had a big class last night ... ended up using MY TV to play my cd .. guess the ZUMBA teacher is using it too .. :mad: .. it will be trashed for sure .. I am going to use it tonight .. then I am removing it .. b/c the cheap owner wont get another stereo as long as we are "making due" :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: ggggggggrrrrrrrr

Lori - FINALLY our marathon girlie has DOMS .. and guess what I DONT :eek: someone mark this date down :p

Wendy - you have DOMS too :eek: and I dont :eek: yup mark it down!! 4# weighted gloves .. girl you have lost your mind :confused: :p

LauraT:: Sorry about your continued troubles with the gym. Every time it seems you make some headway with these idiots they go and mess things up again! :confused: The 4# gloves are actually 2# per hand, not 4# per hand. I'm crazy but I'm not stupid! :D:p;) I could have some raging back/core/bicep DOMS from this morning's work out though which could make tmrw's work out quite a challenge-STS D21-Back and Bi's! :eek:

I lucked out-no raging DOMS from y'day's work out so I didn't have to suffer through it. :p I did good this time with the double wave loads. Learned from my mistakes from last time and made adjustments. If this were the 3 month rotation I would not have had the opportunity to do that. This is why I am happy I just jumped into the longer version even if it IS taking forever!:eek::p

WW weigh in today. Down .8# from last week so that's almost a pound even with the NYC jaunt! I'll take it! That's 4.2# lost in 3 weeks. My work pants are falling off me! :D 2# to go!

Guess that's all for now since no one's been here...

Hi Ladies,

So glad it's Friday. I have a busy morning but the afternoon should be a breeze. I may even be able to get out of there a little early.

I tweaked my my hip flexor and it's screaming today. It happened yesterday afternoon when I was walking. Go Figure. The legs still have some DOMs so I may just do MM UB and abs this morning.

Wendy-I even tried doing KPC with the 2# gloves yesterday and ended up backing down to the 1# gloves. The extra weight was affecting my form. Woo Hoo on the weight loss. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm considering doing another round of STS. I just want to start with meso 2 though. Not sure what the results would be like, maybe 2 weeks of meso 1 and then start meso 2. Use Insanity for the cardio days.

Laura-your gym sounds terrible! I hope they get it all straightened out soon.

Lori-I would be pissed about the car. If you don't like the car, why does DH want to buy it?

Diana:: You are one of the people who convinced me to give STS another try. Why do you say you can't believe you want to do another round of the program? You like it, don't you? Doing Insanity with STS could be a tough pairing though! You are braver then me! :p I think you could do M2 by itself. Why not? Do the longer rotation version of it so you have an extra week with each work out to tweak the weight loads. I think it's an excellent plan! ;) Here's to hoping you can scoot out of work a bit early today! That would be a nice Friday treat for you. :) Thanks re: the weight loss. I am thrilled! Never thought I'd lose the weight so quickly!
 
Hi girls,

Their was a job posting for my team and I put in my resume for it today. It basically is proving that I already do that grade level of work and justifying why I deserve a promotion. I'll let you all know what happens. I already have a meeting scheduled with my boss and HR on Monday.

Tomorrow I'm taking a linkedin class at the community college. I already have a LinkedIn profile, but I think this class focuses on utilizing LinkedIn for job searching.

Wendy-I like your suggestion of doing meso 2 for 2 mos. I've never lost weight doing STS, but I did lose weight doing Insanity. I'm thinking of doing Insanity on the cardio days. I've upped my weights in GS for Chest-27#, biceps 37.5# barbell and 12# db's, triceps-25-27# db, shoulders-12# and it is starting to make a noticeable difference.

Can't believe I didn't check in yesterday. I had a flight yesterday morning @ 3:30:mad: I napped before I went and started my day at 8:30. My workout was abs and 5 miles on the TM...then off to work I went. This isn't my normal shift to work and I have a feeling the guys are gonna drive me over the next 2 days. I use to work with this guy before maternity leave and all he wants to do is talk! If I wanna get any studying done Im gonna have to tell him to go fly a kite!

Ok....I am on the computer with no keys again:confused: and this is taking me forever. I will catch up with personals when I get to work.

Happy Saturday Girlies!

I am happy I don't have work but NOT happy that I have to spend 6 hours in a car today. :eek: We are going up to my sister's in NY. My youngest neice is making her Communion today. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if not for the 3 hour car ride each way. It's actually not quite that long but we always go with my mom so the pit stop to get her and drop her off is a time suck. With out that it would probably be 2.5 I'm thinkin'. We are leaving at 8am and will be LUCKY to be home by 8 tonight. UGH. Talk about a lost day. :rolleyes: Then tmrw afternoon we are probably going up to my SIL's for my FIL's B'day so I will have exactly one HALF of ONE day in my weekend to do something for ME and and tmrw is Mother's Day to boot! GRRRR. :(

So today is a forced rest day and tmrw I will squeeze in as much as I can before we leave. Weights, cardio, abs and stretch are all on the menu. We will see how much I can get done. ;)

Diana:: I lost weight w/Insanity as well but there is thread on O/D that talks about how a lot of people DON'T lose weight with it. I guess we are the oddballs!:p I wasn't losing weight with STS either prior to WW but I also wasn't gaining so I was happy. I was used to not losing weight. I had been trying for over a year w/no luck before now. :rolleyes: If you can do it, STS and INSANITY sound like a good plan of attack! :) I'm glad you like my idea of doing M2 2x like it's done in the long rotation. I want to try the 3 month rotation after this but hadn't planned on doing STS again until Jan and I am afraid that will be too long of a wait to be able to use my weights from this round as a guide. I'd like to try and get my weights on spot as much as possible since I won't have that "2nd chance". This means doing it immediately again after a month's break tops. Not sure my exercise ADD can handle that. I may have to just commit to the longer rotation in January again and be done with it but time will tell...

Lori:: I hope incessently chatty guy isn't there today to bug you. :rolleyes:

Good Morning Ladies,

I have a busy day ahead of me. This morning I have my class and then I will be running to the grocery store for ribeye's. My step mom is coming over for dinner tonight. Plan on putting together a salad, steamed veggies, and baked potatoes.

I should have time to w/o after class and before dinner. Legs and cardio are on tap but may have to do those tomorrow and stick to a straight cardio today.

Wendy-I know its tough being in a car for 6 hours, but your family appreciates you being there...so it's worth it. I'm glad you are liking STS. Have you tried any of the plyo leg w/o's?

Hmmmm...sounds like I will be the only one here today:p;)

My workout was a good one this morning. I have a feeling UB DOMS will sent in later. I did HR UB, 20 mins on TM, 1/2 DWP, 5 mins on bike, 1/2 DWP, 5 mins on bike, UB combos in MMA boxing. Im feeling lazy now though...and I shouldn't be tired. I didn't get a chance to have a 2nd cup of coffee yet today though.

The guys have left me alone for about 30 mins...seriously. Its enough to drive the sanist person insane...never mind someone who is already insane! :eek: They just sit here and have the conversation that they could have been having in their own area.

Diana** DH didn't know that I didn't want the car. I told him the other night that I wasn't excited about it. He asked why and I told him it was b/c I already owned a car like that and it wasn't new. I only get excited about new stuff.....like new lulu! hehe! Congrats on applying on that other job! I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Laura** Are you happy the weekend is here? ;) I have DOMS more times then not lately, b/c I lift so much. I also had some nice DOMS In my abs which is harder to get ...for me anyway.

Wendy** Why don't you just stay all night? Poor Joey....Im sure he has a gameboy or something to keep him occupied...while you play with your touch:) Good job with the weightloss...sounds like you are on a roll!

Hi Ladies,

Nope, you're not alone here today Lori. My class was a bust, no classroom, no teacher. I tried calling to see if I had the wrong room but no one was there. I left a message and hope they get back with me.

I just finished Imax 3 and S90 core dynamics. It was a nice ab routine and I will be trying to fit that in more often. I skipped the w/u and cool down though since I had already done a w/o.

Lori-how on earth do you have all that time to w/o on a work day? From the sounds of it, you should be tired! Hope the guys continue leaving you alone.

Well I'm off to shower, get to the store, and cleanup all before 5pm.
