Damage Control. Week of March 27th!

Well all of those crazy symptoms seemed to have boiled down to a raging case of DOMS! :eek: I got my monthly overnight fri into sat and basically exchanged every single symptom I had been feeling for cramps and headache!:rolleyes: Not much fun either but I'll take it! :p

That being said, you KNOW I worked out on Saturday! ;) I didn't have the kind of time I had hoped to have to work out because I overslept. I slept til 8am saturday morning! WTH!? Only had time for a quick 30 mins so I chose the combos from Athletic Step.

Y'day was busy with a hair appt, some housework and an engagement party invititation.

Today I will do cardio, legs and abs. Have some more housework/laundry to do plus foodshopping and cooking a new recipe for dinner again. Also have to get DS to the doc at some point for a bad cough.

Diana:: that's really funny that you posted that race information link cause i had discovered that by accident a week or two ago while searching for my time from my 18 miler!:D it's very cool indeed. sorry you didn't enjoy the movie. hate it when you spend all of that cash to see something in the theater that you don't even enjoy. :rolleyes:

I guess I can skip personals for Lori right now since she's out of town....

When does LauraR get back?

LauraT:: That is really wild about your boss and wife sharing Birthdays with you and your DH.

Hi ladies,

We had a great day yesterday at MIL's. DH's cousin from Boston is visiting for a few days so we are spending time with him. He's a boatload of fun and laughs. We are going back over to MIL's later today, but not until after my workout!

No workout to report for yesterday. We were out the door at 9am to get to MIL's for brunch. Today will be MM and a cardio of choice. There's only one more week of bootcamp. I pretty bummed about that. I'm considering continuing going to the rec ctr on M/TH anyway and doing my own cardio/wts.

Wendy-Hardcore cardio seemed to help me during tom a lot. Water and ibuprofen dear. What's for dinner? You are inspiring me to make a new recipe each week. We are having mexican food since DH's cousin loves it, but doesn't get it very often in Boston.

Great work outs Diana!

I did an endurance leg/cardio combo today that went like this::

Squeeze Stronger: Warm up, waist 1 & 2, Legs (about half a dozen different lower body exercises one after the other that layered on a HUGE burn!!!:eek:)
Squeeze: Windshield wiper buns and thighs, Flat Abs
Lower Body Blast: Table top position (glute/ham work) w/2# ankle weights, Single leg conditioning drills.
CTX K/B: Cardio only.

It was a long one (90+ mins) but a goodie for sure! I can still "feel" it in my lower body a few hours later! :D

Tomorrow is either cardio or STS D13. Not sure yet!

Tonight's dinner was another new recipe...Found a salisbury steak recipe at www.cookinglight.com. It was yummy but I will be using different meat in it the next time. My mom used to make salisbury steak when I was kid. I've always liked it. Thought of it as a different kind of meatloaf and meatloaf is an all-time fave of mine! :)

Good Morning:)

I am typing this on the computer with the missing keys...so this will probably be shorter then normal.

We had a nice evening away. I cant say weekend b/c it wasn't that long. We left Sat morning, did some shopping, met friends for dinner, went to a hockey game,went clubbing and then to another restaurant:confused: I was still full from dinner, there was no way I was eating again and everytime I tu:confused:ned around someone was buying me a drink. Sooooo.....of course yesterday morning I laced up my sneakers and went to the gym in the hotel. Made me feel a little better.

We bought alot of things for our trip, DH more then myself. AND we found a lulu:p He said "Im coming in to, your not going in there unsupervised" LOL...There wasn't a big selection b/c the store was held in a pilates studio. But Im sure I could have easily spent more if "you know who" wasn't looking over my shoulder. I grabbed a pair of shorts and I didn't know what else to get, so I bought another hoodie:eek: He said " you didn't even hesitate, you just threw it on the counter" I said "you don't think I wasn't eyeing that one on the website?":D If I had more time though I should have gotten another pair of pants or looked further for another pair of shorts and a tank top. I was to rushed b/c we were behind sched.

So I think today's workout is gonna be chest, abs and a run. I need to be at work at a certain time. And I don't have anyone to train today. Tomorrow I have to train at 7.....I may move that up a little b/c I have to work.

I will try to come back later and catch up on personals!

I'm back.

I managed to get in a couple good workouts while I was gone, including one gorgeous run in the middle of a tropical rainforest (high altitude, though, so not too hot). But I also got a tummy bug which wiped out workouts for a couple days.

Now I'm recovered, home, and ready for 2 weeks of solid routine before we fly to the US. Yikes!!

While in the States I will be running for cardio mostly, though I'll have Cathe's latest workouts on digital download (including the MMAs and HiiTs).

I'm in the market for some good toning workouts that don't require tons of equipment since I'll be on the move a lot over the next 4 months. Of course I'll have Cathe's Travel Fit. I like Ilaria, so I think I'll get her Bodystrikes and Push-ups workouts. Any other suggestions for band or body-weight toning videos?
 
Morning Ladies.

So DH has bronchitis so I'll be home with him this morning and then he's going to my mom's so I can go to work in the afternoon. This means that, unless I get lazy, I'll have time to do both cardio AND weights this morning! :D

Diana:: Glad you had fun with DH's cousin. Sorry class is ending already. Definitely give the class a shot at the rec center and see how you like it.

Lori:: A Lulu store? Really? Like you need more of their stuff!? :rolleyes::p

LauraR:: Glad you got some good work outs in while you away. Sorry about the stomach bug. Those are no fun at all. So you'll be stateside in 2 weeks? Wow. Where do you fly into and how long is the flight? I don't know if you have the series but the Full Body work out in Barry's 5 day Academy Boot Camp series is all body weight exercises and cardio. It uses the step which you won't have with you I guess but I am sure it could be modified to be done with out it.

Good Morning Ladies,

I'm off today and tomorrow...and am enjoying it. We had another dinner at MIL's, chicken enchilada casserole, burrito's, tostada's, con queso, salsa etc. It was a mexican food feast. I think I'm still full this morning.

Intensity and abs are sounding good for this morning. Later DH is going to pick up his cousin and we will be doing something. Unfortunately its snowing right now so we may have to change our plans.

Lori-it sounds like you had a great time in the city! More lulu...love it!

LauraR-Good job keeping up with your running. Sorry you were sick during your travels. I'm a fan of HIIT DWP which doesn't use any equipment, tonique is another good one.

Wendy-I'm sure you meant DS, hope he feels better soon. So you have time for a nice long w/o this morning...enjoy.

LauraT-how did you spend your weekend?

MONDAY .. ugh

why is it the weekends pass SO QUICKLY and the week drags??? :confused: I had a great weekend - it was kinda stormy! DH had a great b-day the family came over FRI night and we had snacks and cake and he got some great gifts! He was happy!!! We went fishing ystdy - and OMG . the wind was HOWLING .. it was FREEZING .. WTH?? I skunked DH tho :p :D :p .. LOL ... no workouts to report - and I hit my finger loading dishwasher - my nail cracked .. bent 1/2 back ...EEEEOOOOOOWWWWWWW .. I am pecking at typing this .. :( ..dang it!

Lori - I am LMAO over your lulu trip!! :p DH KNEW not to let you in there by yourself!! LOL what short did you get? Mine are the GROOVE ones! and yes the Y tank has an AWSOME bra ..not shelf bra ..but sports bra built in .. it works even for my plyo class .. I have been very pleased w/them!!

Wendy - is DH sick or DS?? bronchitus is NO FUN!!! you are killing me on this cooking kick! I am proud of you!!! I made a home made pizza last night ... and NO it was NOT lowfat .. but it was DELISH!!! :eek:;) WTG on the workout - Squeeze that is one set I dont have .. I have previewed them .. but not bit yet!!

DI -and off day .. man i would have LOVED to stay at home today - it is dreary out and cooler! have fun!!! sorry this is last week of bootcamp ... I know how you love that class!!

LauraR - a run thru the rainforest -:eek: - wow sounds like something from a movie - bet it was AWESOME!!! IA w/WEndy .. love BBC ... and the Cathe MMA series is great NON equiptment w/o

OK .. better run ... gonna be a LONG week - end of month ... it is to rain all week - :( - so not sure if I will be getting lunch w/o in .. tonight will be circuit class - think it is about time for TRIPLE set class :eek: :p :D have a great one!

Well, the extra long w/o didn't happen this morning. Just wasn't feeling up to it so I didn't push it. I did work out though. Step Moves and Med Ball Ab Circuits with an 8# ball. Good stuff.

LOL, yes I meant DS is sick, not DH. I don't think DH would need a babysitter. Well he might WANT one cause you know how men are :rolleyes: but he would not REQUIRE one! :p

Wow the waist work in Squeeze Stronger got me good. I can feel it when I breathe! :D

Diana:: I haven't done any of Intensity in quite some time. I need to pull it back out one of these days. I keep forgetting about it somehow. :rolleyes: Enjoy your days off!!!!

LauraT:: Not sure how long this cooking kick I am on will last but I am riding the wave until it crashes! LOL My FIL makes a great homemade pizza pie and good homemade raviolis too! YUM!

K, gotta jet for now but I'll be back this afternoon from work if anyone's around...:cool:
 
Hi ladies,

Ended up doing all of Intensity, even the bootcamp/weights at the end. I had never done that before. I liked the cardio in the bootcamp section...oh and the firewalkers too. It's good in a pinch, but will stick to true circuits or weights most likely. I followed Intensity up with Jackie Warners crunchless abs, both standing and floor sections. I only planned on doing the standing, but had plenty of time so went for it.

My HR monitor is not working very well. I feel naked without it and end up looking at my naked wrist several times throughout the w/o. It doesn't need a new battery so I don't know what the problem is. I'm probably going to ask for a new one for Mothers' day. I finally just stopped wearing it because I wasting too much of my w/o time fiddling trying to get the HR monitor to work.

Not sure where DH is. He left to p/u his cousin and hasn't come back yet. They probably decided to ditch me....and it wouldn't surprise me.

LauraT-I bet DH was surprised! It sounds like you had a great weekend. I hear yah on the weather front. It was snowing this morning, but the sun has come out now. We are having our lawn aerated and fertilized today.

Wendy-hope Joey feels better soon. You got your normal w/o in, it's all good! Speaking of cooking, I think DH's family is coming to our house for dinner. I better get something figured out here soon.

Hey Girls,

Late night check in. I was kept going at work pretty much all day. Of course I did take the time to run home and pick up my AE package! The skirts fit, thank goodness. I ordered them in a 2 and I was afraid that they were gonna be to small but I actually have a bit of room in them.They sit nicely on the hips. I think I am good for clothes on our trip now:p

Today's workout was GS chest and shoulders, 4DSKB abs, then I ran for 20, bike for 10 and 4DSKB. My chest is already feeling the pain. When we were out with our friends the other night, our guy friend said " I think its disgusting that Lori has the biggest biceps at the table":p Im kinda hoping he was disgusted in himself! LOL

Wendy** How is DS feeling? I had to read that a couple of times b/c I thought you were staying home with DH as well....but then he was going to your moms! LOL I love trying new recipes. Mostly b/c I hate making the same thing over and over. I tried Quineo (sp?) tonight. I thought it had more fiber then that....only 3g. And 170 cals for 1/4 c? Are you kidding me? Who will that fill up?

Diana** Sounds like you had a nice weekend with DH's cousin. My DH has a pretty boring extended family actually. The only one who was fun was the one who passed away a couple of years ago. Other then that, they are all boring:eek:. My extended family on the other hand.....well...we won't get into it. Im from a big family so there has to be some crazy's in there somewhere. How is work going these days?

Laura** I bought the groovy run shorts and they are nice. I don't own a running skirt yet, I may have to invest in one of those. I bet they are comfy. Sounds like you had an awesome weekend.

LauraR** Your run sounded amazing. I get so bored running in the summer time b/c there are only so many directions I can go in. After training for 2 marathons, I have seen every st there is to see in this town!

O.k...I will bb tomorrow sometime. I have a flight at 7:20 and after that I should be able to work and hopefully bb to work by 10'ish.

Yday was Athletic Step (2 risers! I figure on the steady-state workouts if I've got 6 inches on Cathe, I at least ought to raise my step 2 inches! but I still just use 1 on the Imaxes!) :D

Today will be Total Body--probably MM.
 
Good Morning:)

Had a good sleep last night and had to be here by 7'ish. Wasn't to bad...picked up my coffee on the way. After my flight there is a good chance I will go home and put my workout gear on. I will probably do more cardio then weights. My back and chest are sore. Im assuming my back is sore from the KB with the ankle weights. And now that I move a little...my shoulders are sore as well;):D

My VS swimsuit is out for delivery...this should be interesting. I have a feeling it will be going back. It may be a little skimpy....the book makes it look good but the website makes it look a little to revealing.

LauraR** Nice workouts!!!! How long are you in the US for?

K...I am gonna get a head start on the workout I have to do before my flight gets here.

Diana:: So did your inlaws come for dinner last night? What did you make? Good job on doing all of Intensity. It's a challenge. The BC segment is so short it's really just a nice extra zinger for the muscles. I wouldn't consider it a true weight/circuit work out either.

LauraR:: AS with 2 risers would probably kill me at 5'3"! :eek: There are some I do with 2 risers but AS would NOT be one of them! LOL

Lori:: Quinoa is supposed to be good for you but I've never tried it. DS has the same cough he had 2 days ago but now he's not contagious so off he went to school! Never had a fever and is acting completely normal otherwise. I only bought a suit from VS once when it was on sale. Cute but never fit me exactly right. Have to safety pin the bottoms because they are too big.
 
Morning Ladies,

Well I lucked out yesterday and didn't have to prepare dinner for the family. MIL had something planned so I stayed home and went to bootcamp. The class was back to normal, running laps, stairs, walking lunges, pushups, pullups, wall sits etc. I'm going to miss this class for sure. Our trainer is actually going to continue a bit longer, so she can work out with us. We don't have to pay her....woo hoo.

My legs are pretty tired/sore this morning...in a good way. I may just stick to UB and abs today.

I bought a WW cookbook, their newest one actually-using the points plus values. I'm going to find something to cook for dinner tonight.

I just found out that we get the girls for the month of July. I'm so excited. Our travel agent is looking at airfares and we'll probably book something in the next day or two.

Lori-hope the vs swimsuit works out for you. I'm looking at their catalog and may buy some bra tops. They have a nice selection and their clothes tend to hold up well. I have a large family too, some of my cousins are tons of fun...even my younger sister...we have a lot of fun together!

LauraR-great job with add'l risers! I pretty much use 2 risers for everything except Imax 3. Imax 2 is fine on two risers except for blast 5, I lower just for that blast. I started out doing Intensity on 2 risers, but backed of to 1 until I learned it and now it's okay with 2.

Wendy-glad DS is feeling better. You are cruising right along with STS. I'm actually looking forward to starting Insanity next week!

LauraT-How was class last night?

Hey Girls,

Back at work and trying to get some work done. Problem is, I have to wait for other things from other people...before I can proceed. Left here this morning and did a 4 mile run and some abs. That's all I had time for. For some reason I have a slight headache...as if I am coming down with the cold again. And it feels like I didn't have any coffee either. I went to bed at a sensible time so I can't be sleepy!

Swim suit arrived...left little to the imagination. DH says it looks good but I think I am going to get a girls opinion...anyone got a bb I can send a pic to? LOL Its pretty low cut. I could copy the link for online but its not as skimpy on my as it is on the model.

Wendy** Happy to hear DS is feeling better...or that it didn't amount to anything. Nice job getting your workout done!

Diana** I bet your excited..and maybe even just a little tired thinking about it? LOL Kids can really wear you out...esp mine! I love new cookbooks, esp when they are full of healthy meals!

Lori:: DS had/has bronchitis. We just got lucky in that he never became feverish or anything. Only symptom has been his cough.

OUCHIE WAWA - the DOMS are back :eek: BUTT - hammies - and core! :eek: :D did circuit class - triple sets - did some new stuff .. OUCHIE WAWA for sure!! Was a great class I thought!! Tonight is my mish mosh class!

DI - wow the BC teacher gonna workout and ya'll get kinda free sessions - WTG!!! woot woot - hey we are probably getting a crossfit gym here :eek: I am excited!!! met the guy yesterday - he is focused to say the least - hope it goes over well!

Lori - I LOVE VS bathing suits - the string bikinis fit me better I can adjust to bottoms!! my droid - #3346951370 - I am sure you are rocking it .. and hey .. if DH approves it MUST look great!! you will be on tropical island anyway!!! not like you are hanging at the local neighborhood pool - you are supposed to be a hotmama in paradise!! ;)

Wendy - glad DS is better!!! I am falling behind on STS .. dang it .. gotta get back in the grove!!

LauraR - I gave up 2 risers when the knee blew out - but WTG girlie!! have fun w/TB!!!! my favorite w/o~

OK .. I am gonna LIMP thru this DREARY day - it is cold out - and miserable - I have ZERO energy - and need to run some errands at lunch - maybe I will feel better this afternoon!! have a great one~:D
