Damage Control...Week of April 3rd!

Good Morning Ladies,

Yesterday was a pretty relaxing day. I did make a new recipe, caribbean pork tenderloin. It was pretty good, the flavor was very faint though. I thought it would've been stronger.

This morning I'm planning on Imax2. We'll see how I do. I have this terrible pain in my hip flexor and radiates to the inner thigh muscle. It was bothering me a little last week, but this morning it is really bad. Saturday was 4DSUB and yesterday I did HR Legs and STS bonus barre work. I didn't get any cardio in on the weekend and I feel like a slacker.

Tonight is officially the last day of bootcamp. She will let us know if the new class has been approved and when it will start.

This morning's work out was Booty Barre Lower Body only. I wanted to do cardio and abs as well but I opted to sleep in so I didn't have time.

Yesterday was an unscheduled rest day because I was exhausted.

Diana:: No worries, you'll make up the cardio this week. :) Sorry about the pain you are experiencing. Hope it's a fluke and nothing long term or serious!

Good Morning,

I fell asleep with DS last night and then I had trouble getting back to sleep in my own bed, although I feel o.k. I am happy to report that I read for 2 hours this morning. I really need to buckle down with that. Hoping to do a lot on our trip plus the 5 hours flight.

My workout yesterday was kind of a mish mosh...I did CM#2 abs, PH abs, 20 mins on the TM, 5 mins on the bike, PH legs, 10 mins on the TM, 5 mins on the bike and the MM legs.

The new shorts I may or may not have bought were pretty good yesterday, not idea for running though and I think I could have used a smaller size. Im not sure what I will do today. Its suppose to be sunny this afternoon so I would like to run outside but I also need to buckle down and do some reading. If I could get some done this morning I could swing it but DS will be home.

I also posted on last weeks thread yesterday, not sure if anyone saw it.

Wendy** Nice workouts as usual.

Diana** I will cross my fingers for you that BC starts again. That is something I could lead a class through but straight aerobics I would be no good for.

Jacque** I always buy asics sneaks!! Nice job with your SS workout. I never did do the Body Blast series much.

O.k...So I am going to start my weights now. I think I am allowed after 2 hours of reading. Not sure if I wanna do the GS again or maybe 4DS......I will figure it out!!

Last minute chaos has struck!! :D

I'm busy and stressed, but we're basically packed. Now I just have to prep my house for our being gone for 4 months!

I've felt like I was getting sick today . . . woke up achy and with swollen lymph glands. I know it is just fatigue and stress . . . but I didn't work out. Instead, I took lots of vitamins and supplements, went for a massage (that's supposed to help with immunity), and I think I'm going to manage to beat this cold.

Going to head to bed and see if a good night's sleep will help kick this completely!!
 
MON

MAn it has been INSANE MON - ug - had a great weekend - loads of sunshine :cool: and gorgeous temps - paying for it today w/heat, humidity, and storms tonight! Managed: STS, HiiT - pyramid wave, and BH this weekend. but feeling like I have kidney infection/stone started - sooooo not sure what I can manage for tonight .. will do something .. prbly easy circuit of weights mostly!

FIRST - WOOT WOOT - new Cathe workouts coming - cant wait!

Wendy -the new workouts are to include a BARRE workout :eek: fun!

Lori -I LOVE my shorts .. you prbly did need smaller size ..

Di - have fun at BC - and hoping the new classes begin soon!

LauraR - oooohhh already packed! when do you leave out .. what do you do w/your big furbabies while ya'll are gone???? Safe travels!!

Ok .. gotta jet .. still have a ton of paperwork and only a few minutes to spare!! have a great one!:D
 
Hey Girls,

Its been pretty quiet here today! Im surprised.

Today's workout was 4DS and MM chest, back and shoulders. Im not 100% sure if I am gonna be sore tomorrow. I could easily up the weights in 4DS chest but I don't have the DB's for it. I guess I could have used the BB. And I think b/c some moves only have one set, is what makes it easier. By the time I finished all of the pushups in MM, I was burning though...so we shall see. After lunch I went for a nice hour long run outside. It was kinda cold and I wish I had taken my mits after but I survived.

I also did 2 hours of reading this morning! I was impressed with myself. I really need to make it a priority! I have a feeling that I won't be seeing my client tomorrow morning so I am thinking about getting up at 6:30 anyway, and reading for a while. If I read from 6:30-8:30 , take a break , do some housework and workout, then read again in the afternoon I could get a lot of material covered.

LauraR** Hope you aren't coming down with something. Its funny b/c when you mentioned you went for a massage, the first thing I though was "she must have had the water shut off" LOL

Laura** Do you get kidney stones often? I had one a loooong time ago and I don't think I would wish it on my worst enemy! Well...maybe I would...need to think about that a little longer;) They are terrible. I will def order the 4 in those shorts if I buy another pair.

Good Morning,

I set my alarm for 7 so I could do some reading before my day started. I forgot that DS has an appt at 1:30 and then we have to get our needles for our trip at 3:30...and then training starts around 4:30 until later this evening:confused:. I read for about 90 mins or so though and now I am gonna start my workout. The plan is to do 4DS and MM bics and tris, abs and cardio.

This morning was Intensity Step + HiiT Hi, Pilates Based Ab Circuits and the standing portion of No Equipment StretchMax for me. Good work out. :)

Lori:: Great work outs. I get tired reading about your day/schedule. IDK how you do it! :eek:

Good Morning Ladies,

I woke up in the middle of the night and had trouble falling back asleep. On top of lack of sleep, my body is so sore this morning from bootcamp last night. Ibuprofen will be my buddy today.

This morning will be DWP. I need to be at work a bit earlier than normal so this shorter cardio will fit the bill nicely, and help work the soreness out of the legs.

LauraR-Hope you are not coming down with something. I'm sure it is stressful preparing for 4 months away from home. There's a local 5k here in a couple weeks I may run in. It's literally in my neighborhood and is a fund raiser for the middle school.

LauraT-oh no, another kidney stone. You haven't had one in quite a while. I hope that's not it. Our trainer did get approval for another 8-10 week indoor bootcamp session. It will only be 1 night per week instead of 2, but she will provide a second weekly workout that we can do on our own. Usually a group of us meet up and do the workouts together.

Lori-good job getting back to your reading! I haven't ran outside for a few weeks now. If the temp is nice then its sooo windy. Our temps are all over the place right now. Saturday was 84 and Sunday we got 3 inches of snow. Can't DH bring you home some heavier DB's from the his store?

hey ..

INSANE here today - gotta post quick - widespread outages - we had HORRIBLE STORMS last night and there are trees down everywhere - and power out all over the county - someone had cut the trees to free up the road but there are limbs and debris everywhere!! UGH .. crazy insane here .. and computers are acting up to boot!! UGH

Lori - have not had a stone in a while - dang it - i felt REALLY bad this morning .. but a bit better now! I used to get stones ALL THE TIME - think I have pretty much figured what causes them .. but every now and then I get lax .. and one pops up to remind me to be good!

Wendy - MY TOWER :mad: the stupid FED EX guy didnt deliver it SAT - I reported it and blessed out the FEDEX people - MAYBE it will be here today! :mad:

DI - yayayayayaya on more BC .. I know you are happy!!

I changed up circuit class .. did short PLYO segments of cardio on step - then I did longer - high rep - graduated weight LB and UB endurance body exercises .. I AM SO FREAKIN SORE!! shoulders, chest, bis, tris, back, butt .. UGH ... today is to be mish mosh class IF I can manage it .. geesh I am a hurtin!!! :eek: OK .. better jet .. phones are going crazy .. have a grea one!;)
 
Diana:: I posted this morning right above you but responded to you in a personal y'day if you didn't see it. Sorry about the lack of sleep. Jen had trouble last night as well. Has been up since 3am so you and her are feeling eachother's pain right now. :(

LauraT:: Fingers crossed for the tower today!!! Sorry about the storms. Hope you have a better day at work tmrw! You have DOMS!? No freakin' way!!!!!!!!!!:p I got DOMS from Booty Barre in my quads the first time I did it, this time, nothing really. Oh well. It's actually nice to be able to walk without a limp and sit down without crying!!! LOL
 
Good Morning,

To early to be awake and to actually be thinking about working out:confused: But Im gonna try it. I said I would give it a shot today b/c if I have to be at work by 8:30 and be on call in the evening...when will I get my workouts in? So I set my alarm for 5:15 and hoping to be running by 5:45 and I have a client at 6:30 and she should be outta here by 7:30.

Yesterday was another busy day of course, I should have went to bed with DS. My workout was abs, GS and MM bics and tris, 3 miles on the TM (25 mins), 30 mins on the bike and the floor work from GS legs. Today Im gonna try PH abs and a run. And it better be a good one if I am getting up this early for it!

I am taking DD to work with me today. I hope I actually have some work to show her and that people aren't under my feet all day. As soon as I go in, I am sure my manager will be sitting in my spot.

I ordered my sisters bday gift yesterday from lulu...might have added a couple of things in my cart for myself:p They are doing reno's to the online store so the selection online is very limited. I put some things in my cart but didn't check out. I went back last night to checkout and the store had downsized big time. Even though the stuff that was in my cart wasn't showing when I browsed, it still let me check out:D I don't know what I would have done b/c that's what she asked for for her bday....anyway..I ordered a tank and capris for her and a bra and shorts for me:D

Wendy** One of my clients couldn't believe that I had no idea what was going on in Libya. I then told her yesterday what my day consisted of and I said "when am I suppose to watch the news"? Not that I would want to anyway. I am hoping to be kept going at work so I don't fall asleep today!! So now I am hoping for a rat race day!

Diana** DH doesn't have DB's at the store. He use to but nothing I don't already have. I guess he doesn't carry them b/c walmart is probably the cheapest and that's where people will buy them. He said he could order some for me but it would be useless b/c shipping is so much! How are you feeling today? Gonna lay off the pain meds?;) We had our needle yesterday for our trip and it feels like someone punched me in the arm...hard!

Laura** Im crossing my fingers for you that you don't get another stone....frig...they are nasty! Hope work isn't to crazy for you today!

Must get this workout started!

Lori--LOL about your thinking my water was off! :D Nope. Just trying to beat the cold bug. And it worked! My good night of sleep after the massage fixed me up.

LauraT--Our co-workers live two doors down and will babysit our furbabies. Plus we have a yard guy--security (unfortunately, it's necessary) who also helps take care of them. They will be lonely, though. :(

No workout here except for Pack & Clean Max. All the last minute things that can't be put away till the end . . . computer, etc. Another co-worker has been over here helping me clean today.

Tomorrow before we leave I plan to do a good solid weight workout--since for the last time I'll have my heavier dumbbells. Then, over the weekend, I hope to get in a couple good runs on the banks of Lake Victoria. :) I certainly do get the awesome-sounding runs in, even if my schedule is forced to be erratic. I keep thinking that, if I just had a photographer running with me, I could be on the "Rave Run" page of Runner's World. :)
 
Hi Ladies,

I took a melatonin last night and slept through the night. We had a meeting at work and I'm going to be getting some more work, work that I want to be doing! I'm pretty happy about that. Hopefully the promotion I've been asking for will soon follow.

I've been weighing daily but only recording my Wednesday weight in WW. Today I'm up 3#'s from last week. This is why the scale is so discouraging. I rid my house of all the junk and have been eating very healthy this last week including lots of veggies and fruit. The only difference is I did less cardio than normal. I did weights Sat and Sun but did not do any cardio. There are many WW attendees who do not exercise at all, or simply walk and they seem to lose weight. I'm very discouraged this morning.

Lori-You have some nice w/o's going lady. Yesterday I did DWP and then at lunch I did cardio and abs as a circuit. I ran laps, did squat/jumps on the bosu using a 8# med ball, 2 sets of 24 different types of crunches....repeat 3 times. It was only about 40 minutes but it was better than nothing. Can you w/o when your'e on call?

LauraR-how cool would having your picture in the mag be! That's awesome. I just got my new Runner's World mag and was reading it last night. They actually featured a Trail Run that is hear in Telluride Colorado. I can't even imagine how stressful it is for you right now. Traveling cross country with a family and preparing the house. It sounds like you've done this before so I'm sure it will be fine. Good job keeping up with your workouts.

Wendy-I see what's happening. You haven't submitted your post when I start mine, but submit yours before I do. I never see your post until after I've posted. DS put one of my downloaded w/o's on my phone and I can connect that to my tv and do my w/o's. I know I'm a bit behind the times, but it's so cool. I don't the ipod anymore...so DH is getting. His headphone jack is broken rendering his ipod useless.

LauraT-wow, the storms sound terrrible. Hope the power is back on and the roads have been cleared by now. I wish we did more weight work in bootcamp. We use the small party room to meet in, but have the use of the whole rec ctr. We do mainly body weight work but it would be nice to use weights...sometimes we do..just not a lot. I'm going to send you an email of our workout for Monday.

Jacque-hope all is well with you. Did you see, the Avs are at the bottom of the barrel. Too bad for me I guess. They've been plaqued with injuries since the beginning of the year. Hopefully next year will be better for us.

WOW .. what a stressfull 2 days - power is still out in my area :( people are ILL .. but there are so many trees down on lines - HAD to be some sporadic tornados that hit! Our guys work so hard and such long hours in bad conditions - big KUDOS to our great guys !!! I finally got to class - had a SMALL class - they requested another ball workout in full - it is easy to forget how hard the balls are .. but I did it - and yowza!! I got a powerwalk/run in ystdy so the balls was a perfect fit - and YES I STILL have DOMS (shoudlers, chest,tris, butt) :eek: not as bad as ystdy tho!! ;) I went home and had a few CABS to relax - it helped a LOT!!!

Lori - I noticed lulu had limited selection on sizes on some things - maybe it is only temporary!!! glad you were able to get your gift - AND uhum a few things for yourself! ;) :p

LauraR - man I would be a nervous wreck if I were you - have fun w/packmax - I bet your pooches do miss you -

Di - ooohhh .. yes do send me that workout - fun - my class may get mad at you .. LOL .. but I LOVE seeing new ideas!!

Wendy - MY TOWER CAME :eek::eek::D:D DH put it together this mornign for me .. so it is ready and waiting for me!!

OK - sooooooooo Toots is in HEAT - Buster wasnt sick - he was getting LOVE SICK - now he is just plain out INSANE!!! Hope he dont have a heart attack - he is too old to be acting like a maniac!!! UGH My DM b-day is tmrw - so I gotta run errands at lunch and find something for her!! ??? have no idea what I need to get her!! Tonight is PLYO class - :eek: think I am gonna do all plyo - no body exercises and add an extended yoga cooldown tonight!

So far so good...I haven't yawned yet today. I shouldn't say that to loud though. I have to go back to work shortly but after that, Im up for some quiet time. I may even try to get a tanning appt on the way home.

Today's workout was PH abs and 6 miles on the TM.

LauraR** Sounds like you are just about ready to go! I am sure you will get some good runs in!

Diana** You sound alot like my client. She use to mention that alot of people don't even workout and they still lose weight. Of course she liked the way her shape was changing with exercise. I haven't really heard from her since she came home from her trip. I thought that she was avoiding me at first but DH gave me the scoop on what happened. I don't know when I will hear from her...if I will at all.

Laura** THANK goodness its only for a small amount of time!! They will have new stuff up before we know it;) I bought the 50 reps bra, I think..or the sports bra. Its funny how a drink can make you forget:) But its not good to forget to much! LOL

I probably won't bb anymore today! I will be here tomorrow though.

I'm gonna make this short as it is only 7:30 PM and I am dozing off. Was up early at 3 AM to do some work cuz I had a headache last night and fell asleep! :confused:

Have a few workouts to report: As I posted, Sat was Supersets, Sun was DWP (looks like many have done that one lately), Mon no w/o - picked up my new little Honda Civic in blue ;), Tues was the headache from he!! and tonight I did Push Pull.

Wendy - you have red, I have blue, who is going to get a white Civic? The All American Damage Controllers with the Civics? :p What happened to you today?

Diana - woo hoo for some work that you wanted. I'll cross my fingers for you and your promotion ! :D Good to hear about BC class. How is the hip flexor? Sorry about the Avs - I see here and there they have won but noticed they haven't been near the top. Injuries really cause havoc for sure. We are lucky to have a great farm team and some good players that seem to be able to move up and play very well with the regular players.

Poochy - sounds like you have had bad weather and hard workouts lately ! We are to get our storms starting tomorrow - hopefully not too bad as I have planted some of my gardens already. Hope Buster can hold out without killing himself too badly. I remember when my mini schnauzers would do the heat/chase thing. My female was a prude - we were lucky enough to have two fun litters during the spring time. I had a blast, course I wasn't working at the time and they spent much of it outside.

LauraR - have a super safe trip. Keep us posted on your where abouts. Gonna be out West at all - California possibly? I'm in Nor Cal just south of San Jose if you are . . .

Lori - great job with all your reading lately ! And of course your non-existent lulu shopping ! ;):p:rolleyes: You are too funny. Pretty soon you'll be buying a larger house just to store your lulu ya know . . . :D

Good Morning.

Sorry I was MIA y'day. My job has me and my boss doing a lot of extra work that we don't normally do so I've gone from being bored most of the day to being crazy busy the past couple of days. Y'day I spent the entire day working on a single spread sheet in excel and IT'S STILL NOT DONE YET! :eek: I don't mind being busy. Makes the day go by faster and I don't think about FOOD as much!:rolleyes: Unfortunately it's not going to last forever and soon I will back to tapping my fingers on the desk waiting for the clock to move.... :confused:

Y'day's work out was Booty Barre U/B, Insanity PCC (about half of it-I skipped some of the w/u and then did it through the first round of the second set of intervals...if that makes any sense :confused:), Intensity HiiT Lo, Booty Barre Abs/Flexibility.

I thought my shoulders would be SCREAMING at me today but I am shocked to say that they are not! Atleast not yet! I used 3# DB's for the BB U/B segment and I was dying!:eek:

Today will be cardio and abs and then tomorrow/saturday/sunday I will bang out D16-17-18. :)

BBIAB for personals. Gotta go work out now!:D

ETA:: Drillmax Timesaver Cardio Blast, Weights only from Ab Circuits Weights n Plates Abs, Seated portion only of Stretchmax No Equipment...DONE!:cool:

Good Morning Ladies,

I'm happy to say the scale is down a full pound this morning. I hate how the scale can make or break my day. Today would normally be a weight day, but I'm going to do a circuit instead...HSTA and abs.

Wendy-we certainly do not have a lack of work where I'm at. I simply don't have time to check in from work. Glad you have something to keep you busy for a bit. Nice w/o this morning!

Jacque-congrats on the new car...how fun! The civics are super cute. What's up with all the headaches? Is it stress from work? Good job getting back to your workouts. We have a good farm team too, but the avs just haven't been "bringing it" if you will.

Lori-I think your new nickname should be lorilulu!:p I've been reading my runners world mag and really liked the article on combining w/o's, such as long run and intervals, hills and flats. One that caught my eye was training your body to run on tired legs....run 2-6 miles, do lower body weights, then run another 2-6 miles. As I was reading...I was thinking to myself..Lori does this! It also talks about run/bike/run etc. I'm looking forward to starting Insanity next week. The last time I did this rotation, I lost 5#'s in the first week. Too bad I didn't lose any more after that. Its a start though.

LauraR-I loved the article you wrote...it is you...right???? Enjoy these last few days before you head our way!

LauraT-hope the weather clears up and the power is back on soon. Can't believe your class requested Ball work again so soon. I've used my tower for STS TB and the bonus barre work. It's not quite as stable as I thought it would be, but it totally works.

I'm WFH so I can check in throughout the day.
