Damage Control . . . Week of 2/27!

So y'day I fought myself all day long to get a work out in. I woke up and had a headache inside of an hour y'day morning and that just got the day off to a rotten start that continued for HOURS. I must've walked into my work out room half a dozen times hoping I'd find the motivation to work out but didn't....until 5pm! Lifting was not happening. I knew that so I did what I could muster...KM combos plus KPC abs. Would have included the KM blasts as well but it was already so late and I still had dinner to make so I really couldn't afford to take that extra time.

Thankfully my day was not a complete waste up until the point that I worked out. I DID clean up the kitchen, vaccum, do some laundry and go food shopping. Also snuck a nap in there some where! ;)

I was looking at my calendar and I haven't lifted in over a week! My last STS w/o was last friday before I went to A/C! For shame!!!!!!!!! It's disc 9 or 10 today or bust!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUST.DO.IT! I wish I could pull off a double header but I know me. It won't happen. Adding on cardio and abs? Sure. But 2 hour long STS work outs in one day? Nope. No way. Not gonna happen.

Guess that's all for now...I got up at 4am to pee and haven't been back to sleep since....2 cups of coffee later and I think I'm gonna go lay down for a bit. :p

Hi Ladies,

I did absolutely nothing yesterday. I watched a ton of shows I have recorded. I'm thinking now that I need to cancel some recordings because I simply do not have time to watch them right now. I usually will watch tv for an hour or so on Tuesday or Friday nights. Instead of knowing I can watch them whenever, when the DVR has tons of stuff I feel I need to watch them.

Since I didn't do anything yesterday, my day is packed today. Laundry...about 6 loads, tons of filing, pay bills, balance check book, grocery shopping etc.

DH took took Jerod driving for the first time yesterday. They were gone for 2 hours! I was a nervous wreck. Then I found out they were in DH's big ass truck at the high school parking lot the whole time. They've gone out again but took my car. Jerod said it was hard to park, jeeeesh...I can barely park that huge truck.

I have one week left of meso 2 but I'm just not feeling it right now. I plan on finding another rotation to loosely follow for now. You really can't do STS meso 3 justice if you don't have the STS Tower or a bench. It's becoming a safety issue for me. The temps are supposed to be in the mid 50's this week so it's time to give running another try.

LauraR-did you decide on a rotation? I love all my Cathe DVD's because they are so versatile!

Wendy-My drink of choice last week was amaretto sours. They were delicious! I wish I didn't like all the sweet drinks, they are so much higher in points. Another favorite is mojito's! yummy I'm going to look again for Supreme 90. I'm going to be adding some Insanity w/o's now too. One of my girlfriends has had them since mid December when I left for my surgery. She's been sick off and on and hasn't been using them. I lurve hockey!! Hope you enjoy the game, they are so much more fun in person!

LauraT-sorry DH was rude to you. My DH never complains about my size or weight, he knows how sensitive I am about it. Did you have to wear a separate jog bra under your lululemon? I'm small chested but also never feel like the built in bra is enough support for me.

Lori-wow, you have another very busy day ahead of you. I may go back and follow the rotations you sent me, with the cardio/circuits. I love STS but feel the need to move on.

Have a great day ladies!

I got my work out in the bag before 10am. SO HAPPY!

Disc 9 for the final time! Woot! LOL
KPC thru all low intensity drills and first round of hi.
Standing Abs from Absolute K/B

I was hoping for more cardio but I was wiped out and didn't want to push it too hard...I am happy with what I did though especially after what happened y'day!

Hey Ladies,

I finally got my w/o and 5 loads of laundry done! Still more laundry to go...but progress none the less. I'm sitting here eating 3 egg whites, 1 whole egg, spinach and a tomato...yum.

I ended up doing STS Total Body. I had planned on doing a cardio w/o too but I have a ton of stuff to get done.

Hope everyone is enjoying the rest of the weekend!

Hey Girls,

Another late night last night. I didn't have much to drink but the lack of sleep did me in today. I just woke up from a little snooze:D Now I am enjoying my coffee.

Yesterday wasn't as crazy as I thought. The party ended up being postponed until today b/c it was raining yesterday. What I meant yesterday by sliding...was sledding...LOL. So the party was an outdoors one. It was rainy and windy yesterday. Today was much better but freezing outside!

I can't really remember what yesterday's workout was. I think it was some time on the TM, then LIC combos. Last night I did another 30 mins on the TM before the party. DS woke up at 6:08 (to be exact!) I had no intentions of getting up so I left the room and let DH deal with it. Im always the one who as to get up. He then came out into the other bedroom at 7'ish so atleast I got another hours sleep. I tured the tv on for him and I was in and out for another hour. I ended up doing abs and a 45 mins run on the TM.

Wendy** I think I have lifted more weights this week then any other. I certainly made the best of my week off! I probably won't be able to lift anymore until Wed...:( BUT it is pretty quiet in the house here now. I could possibly get this crowd situated with food and I could workout again:eek:

Diana** Sounds like you had a nice weekend of relaxing. I hate driving DH's truck but its probably a good thing for Jerod to get use to it. I think DD will be a jeep hog when her time comes.

So remember the lady who keeps trying to change her workout times on me?? She as tried to change tomorrow's workout twice now and I am sticking to our set time. F that! First she wanted to workout tomorrow evening b/c her meeting was canceled and I said that I couldn't do tomorrow evening...kind of a lie (that was yesterday) Today she wanted to change the workout time from 6:15 to 6:40 b/c the kids didn't have school. I don't know what that had to do with anything. I am starting to wonder if she was dealt a full deck of cards. I told her that earlier was better for me b/c I have to work. She isn't going to run the show anymore. If we set a time, I am sticking to that time. Both of her reasonings were lameo.

O.k...I may bbl just to see what's happening!

Lori:)

Monday mornin' already here! :)

Just finished a 3-mile run. Our visitors are all runners/bikers, so I had company this morning. There were 4 of us. We ran 3 miles in 30:48. Not Miss Lori's speedy 6 miles in 50 minutes, but I'll definitely plead altitude and hills for us! :p

So, Diana was asking about my next rotation. Here's what I've decided. I've been running 3 days a week, and I'm going to keep that. When we're in the States 6 week from now, I will depend on my running when we have to travel, so I need to be in good running shape. I'm just going to tweak the other 3 days. I was doing:

Tues: upper
Thurs: lower
Sat: circuit

I'm going to turn my Tues workout into a total body weights workout. I'm going to keep the leg weights moderate so that I don't sabotage my upper body training. But it will be a chance to work on form and on really going deep into the moves.

Thursday will be lower body, and I'm going to use the 4 STS plyo leg workouts.

I've been debating about Saturdays. Part of me wants to keep the circuits, but I'm also thinking about interval training. I think I'm just going to pick the 4 workouts that combine what I want: Low Max (cardio and legs), Intensity, Circuit Blast, and . . . not sure on #4. Too many good options.

So, that's my new rotation. Whatcha think? Good cardio and legs without totally losing my upper body? Obviously, I won't make upper body gains that way, but by going light on legs on that day, I'll still train the upper hard.

Gotta jet. Time to get kids to school. BBL.

Good Morning.

Disc 9 DOMS has begun though I have to admit that (atleast for now) it doesn't seem nearly as bad as the first time!!!

Diana:: IDK if I could get that many loads of laundry done in one day b/c my dryer takes FOREVER to dry a load of clothes! It's soooo frustrating. Never had an ameretto sour. Sounds yummy though. I am a fan of sweet drinks myself. Not too sweet though. How exciting for Jerod that he is now learning how to drive. That's awesome! Maybe not for you, but for him it is! LOL Good job with STS TB. I love that work out!

Lori:: One of the happiest days for me in my son's little life was the day he learned how to turn on the tv by himself! :D The cardio queen lifted a lot of weights? Are you feeling okay? :p Good job sticking to your guns with that one client of yours. What a PITA!

LauraR:: It's so hard to choose what work outs to bring when you go out of town isn't it? I'm sure whatever you decide on will be fine. Just bring enough so that you don't get bored! :p

Whoa~look at the time! 5am already! Gotta get my (sore) arse moving! Time to sweat! :D

BBL~

ETA:: work out done...BM2 as produced thru power circuits but omitted lower body weight portions. Great sweat! :D

Good Morning Ladies,

Is it Monday already....UGH. This morning will be a Cardio of choice. Nothing is really coming to mind so I'll just have to pick something when I get down there.

The filing never got done this weekend. I'm making a to do list so I can start checking things off. Between bootcamp and my nieces basketball games I could be busy 4 nights this week. My nieces team is ranked number 2 in state and they are in the playoffs. They don't look as good as they did last year, but it doesn't matter to me as I am there to support my niece no matter what.

I'm trying to determine which days I can run at lunch and which days I can do weights at the rec ctr. I need to write up a rotation soon.

Laura-how fun to run with a group of friends. That should definitely help with the motivation. Another option for you is to do 2 full body w/o's and 1 circuit. I love all the plyo leg w/o's.

Wendy-wow, that's a lot of stepping! BM2 cardio is one of my favorites! Yeah, my dryer sucks too and takes 2 cycles to dry jeans and towels. It just take constant babysitting to get it all done in one day. I did it!

Hi Lori, LauraT and our long lost miss Jacque.

bbl

Diana:: So what work out did you decide to do? Enjoy your niece's game(s)!! The setting I put my dryer on basically keeps it running until the clothes are dry...or atleast MOST of them are dry anyway. It will run for 3-4 hours just to dry one load!!! I've started trying to do a load every night after work and then whatever I can on weekends in order to keep up otherwise it's impossible. Even if I stayed home all day and all night I probably wouldn't have enough time to finish a week's worth of laundry b/c of my dumb dryer. I won't leave the dryer running when no one is home so if we all go out and the dryer is on, I have to stop it when we leave and re-start it when we get back home. This also makes weekend laundry tough cause I don't refuse to stay in the house all day/night long just to do laundry. *ok, sorry. dryer rant over! :p*

Monday ugh

Hey chickas!!

this weekend FLEW by .. .. busy busy .. FRI we went to a banquet .. was awesome .. I got 2 sculptures and one painting at a pretty good deal :D then SAT we had to go out of town w/DH got home .. then SUN we went fishing when he got home .. just a busy time!! FUN TIME though!! I did fit in a BH strength w/o .. which he FRIED my tris .. so I am a bit sore today - no walk today looks like rain and it is MUGGY out .. tonight is circuit class!!!

Wendy - YOU NEED A NEW DRYER girl!! That would drive me insane!! Mine dry my clothes in about 35 min! How do you get any of your laundry done at that speed???????and yes never leave it drying while you are gone .. I know TOO MANY people whos house has caught on fire for that very reason!!!

DI - congrats to your neice!! hoping they go all the way!! WOOT WOOT!!! I think STS TB is my all time favorite workout - it is for sure my GO TO workout!!! and the lululemon top .. nope did NOT have to wear extra bra .. that is why I was so impressed!!! it supported me throuout plyo class .. which is AWESOME ... wore great .. breathed great .. I was VERY impressed!!

LauraR - WTG on the run - I dont like running w/someone b/c I try to talk and cant or I feel pressure to stay w/them - but to have a group to meet that has got to be motivating!!!

Lori - good for you .. sticking to the workout time . geesh .. yup that lady sounds too wishy washy .. that would drive me NUTZ!!!!

OK .. gotta jet ... TMRW is FIRST OF MONTH {{ insert crying fit }} gotta get desk cleared b/c I am sure I will be assisting up front tmrw!!! have a great one!:D

LauraT:: By doing a load of wash every night it enables me to let the dryer run overnight and then I empty the dryer and fold the clothes the following night while the next load is washing. A new dryer would be great except it's a stackable unit so we'd have to replace the whole unit. We don't want to spend the $ on another stackable if we can help it b/c we will want a regular washer and dryer if/when we ever move. With my luck we'll spend $ on a new stackable and move 6 months later  and we have absolutely no room for a regular washer and dryer in our house now. :(

Hey Girls,

No time to check in earlier today. And did I check in yesterday? I dunno! I think I did:) Back to work today and it was nice. As much as I complain about this and that and something else, I do love my job. Very relaxing to say the least. There was a pile of paper work b/c the new girl isn't that use it yet. I asked him to check it a few times but then he would do something else. Of course he checked it when I was ready to go home. Didn't matter then...I was leaving. Now I just have more work to do tomorrow.

My early morning workout canceled (the one who I had to say "no" to a few times). I knew it was coming b/c her mother is sick and I thought she had spent the day at the hospital. I don't think she is one to bail on me yet but I do think that she is one of those people who will use her hectic life as a reason to not workout. She is going away on a trip in a few weeks and she hasn't lost a lot of weight to date. I think she is a slow loser and a fast gainer (usually the way it goes) I think she is gonna do alot of damage on this trip. Its just so hard for people to do anything in moderation.

Wendy** I know, I am looking forward to the day when DS is happy just playing a DS game or watching tv while I sleep! LOL Making myself sound like a big booze bag! ha! I remember those days with DD but she was a good kid anyway.

Diana** That's awesome about your nieces team! Sounds like you will be kept busy this week.

LauraR** I love circuit workouts. I use to be the cardio queen...now I enjoy lifting more. I am kinda happy that she canceled in the a.m b/c now I get to do a decent workout myself. You would think I would sleep in!:p

Laura** Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Um...my friend was away for a few days and I had her pick up some tank tops from lulu that I wanted! LOL CAN NEVER BE TRACED WITH A CC!!:eek: I ripped the tags off and put them in my drawer like I owned then forever! haha!!!

Today's workout was abs and 4 miles on the TM. Im not sure what I will do tomorrow. Probably cardio and shoulders, bics and tris. I can probably get up at 6 and workout from 6:30-8. I should have time to check in tomorrow morning before I workout. I also love that as well!

BB in the a.m!

Lori:)

Hi ladies,

I just got home from bootcamp and my body is already hurting. We did suicides, wall jumps, stair running, Lower and Upper body work etc.

I ran today for the first time...woo hoo, at lunch. I ran with a co-worker who is also getting back into running. We ran for 30 minutes, just shy of 3 miles I think. My foot didn't hurt, but my hip and knee were not liking it at all. The knee pain feels like the LCL tear I had in November. My right hip has always been tighter than the left, but I'm going to pay attention to my body as I ease my way back into running.

Tomorrow morning will be a HIIT w/o and abs. I have to leave work early to take Jerod to a Dr. Appt. My coworker and I are going to try to run together at least twice a week but hopefully 3 times.

Lori-Your client needs to understand that losing weight is a process that can take months and probably will. It doesn't sound like she's in the right mindset if you will. It's nice that she gave you some notice about cancelling so you can plan your own w/o.

Wendy-did you know the new front load machines can be stacked! We need a new washer & dryer and when we do get them, I'm considering stacking them. That will leave me more storage room in my laundry room. If your moving to a bigger house soon, I'd wait and get what I want in my new house!

LauraT-sounds like you had a fun weekend! Can you tell me which lululemon tank you like so much. I'm always looking for sports tanks but pretty much always have to wear a jog bra under them. Oh dear, tomorrow is the 1st.....hang on to your hats! ;)

Time to shower and start laundry.....see yah in a.m.

Good Morning:)

I woke up a few times last night but I still feel o.k. So much for me saying that I never dream:confused: I had a couple of weird ones and one was the dog dying. I woke up before the alarm went off and just lay there till it did.

We are suppose to have some yucky weather here today and I think its already started. Thankfully its only 2-4 cms of snow but its suppose to be really windy so I guess that little bit of snow will be blowing all over the place.

I am not sure what my workout will be. I am gonna look after my coffee. Weights will be first and then a run. I am hoping for 45 mins of both. That means I need to get started in 20 mins. Sometimes in the a.m when I do weights, I will still drinking my coffee while I do it! LOL

Diana** Sounds like you had a awesome workout last night! Do you think you will be able to get back into running? Or is there to much discomfort going on? My client is def not in the right mindset and probably will never be. I am friends with her niece and I think they all have some kind of issues. My friend gains and loses probably every 6 months. Last fall was the biggest I had ever seen her. She lost some and then she started working out with me. She kept saying " I think I finally got it". I was trying to explain to her how we all have "bad food days" but after you have one, you have a couple of good ones and then you don't gain weight. She still doesn't get it. The other day she was going to the store to buy hydroxcut. And I just rolled my eyes. Then she calls last week and says that she is going on a high protein diet. I told her that she could do whatever she wanted but I have yet to see a person keep weight off with those kinds of diets. I asked her how much she weighed and she said 134. I was talking to my other friend yesterday and she told her that she was 139? WTH? So I think everyone in that family is kinda touched. They gain weight and wanna lose it all in a week. BUT I am sure I will see worse then this if I make this my FT career!

Oh...I cleaned out my workout clothes drawer last night b/c all of my pretty lululemon tanks were getting messed up and I decided to count what I had and add it up! Including Christmas gifts, I have about $1700 worth (before tax)! 11 tanks, 7 pairs of capris and 6 sweaters! UGH! The sad part is, I have my eye on two more pairs of capris that match the latest two tanks!!! Something is wrong with me. I have more pairs of capris then I will ever need. PLUS, Im gonna want some shorts for this summer. Its a good thing I gave DH my cc! LOL Oddly enough, I don't feel bad!

O.k...I may bbl. I have a few things to do at work today but hopefully I will get time to check in!

Lori:)

Good Morning.

Today was my scheduled rest day but I opted to bang out Disc 10 instead so that I'll have full body DOMS tmrw and make my rest day worth it! ;):D

BBL~

Today was High Reps.

Tomorrow will be another group run. I'm like LauraT, generally I prefer to run on my own, and I was actually a little stressed about the run yday. But it went great. For the most part, we were all at the same pace. If anything, I was in better shape than everyone else. So THEY had to keep up with me. :) It was actually a really great run for me, the best so far. I had to exert energy to talk and give directions, since none of them knew where they were going, and were in a foreign country to boot. And with several of us, I found myself using lots of energy jumping out of the way (the "roads" here are still like trail running) of other pedestrians, tree roots, uneven ground, etc. And even with all the talking and maneuvering, my energy was GREAT! I was really, really pumped. :D

Ok, time to play catch up with personals! :D

LauraR:: Sure sounds like a great run! Don't you love it when you are dreading something or doubting yourself and end up kickin' azz at it? :)

Lori:: You are Lulu Loco! LOL If I make a second cup of coffee in the morning and don't finish it, sometimes I will bring it into my work out room with me if I am doing weights (did that this morning actually!) but I never end up taking more then sip cause all I end up wanting to do is gulp water!

Diana:: I have seen that front loaders can be stacked but there are 2 issues w/that...1) our unit is in a closet and it's not a wide closet so a regular front loader would not fit in that space. 2) my mom has a front loader and doesn't like it. She said it's ridiculous how many warnings of don't do this and don't do that it came with and she LIKES doing laundry. As a laundry hater I do NOT want to have to deal with being so careful. I will bust that machine in no time and DH will bust my head! :p Your bootcamp classes sound so similar to Insanity with the exception of your use of weights. Yeah, take it easy getting back into the running thing. Better safe then sorry!!! If I ever go back I am sure it'll be a long road for me...I'll probably have to start from scratch. :(

Anyone heard from Jacque yet??

TUE

checking in quickly as a bit before lunch is when all H### is gonna break loose here!! Last night .. I did circuit class w/triple sets ... pretty good workout .. no DOMS to speak of  which is strange!! It was muggy and humid soooooo the room felt like a sweat sauna even w/the air on .. UGH!!

Lori - yikes .. the the wish washy client/friend sounds like she wants a quick fix and doesnt "get it" .. no pills or fad diets work .. tell her to get Tom Venuto book - "The Body Fat Solution" .. it is a very easy read and common sense approach to eating clean .. and it breaks down why all the pills and fad diets DONT WORK .. in VERY plain language!!! would be a great learning experience for someone like your client!! and hydroxycut?? .. dangerous IMHO .. lots of cases of spiked heart rates and almost ephedrine like side affects!!!!!!

LauraR - great run!!! ya when you feel like you are trail running you get a MUCH better workout and better calorie burn!! WTG!!!

Di - I got the "Power Y tank" .. it is awesome .. and I was really surprised that one w/thin straps could support .. no need for an extra bra!!! :D worth the money IMO!!!

Wendy - LULU LOCO .. good name for Miss Lori .. LOLOLOLOL :p ...I have front loaders too .. and I LOOOOVE them .. they make washing so much faster ..the clothes are just about dry when they come out of the washer!! Plus they use less water and energy! they make a more compact size in the whirlpool .. but not sure if it would fit into a closet .. they are still big .. but they do stack ... IDK ..I would give all THUMBS UP for economy, efficiency, and ease of use. Now yup .. pricey at first .. but worth the investment!!! enjoy your rest day!

NO I have not heard from Jacque - getting worried about her - I sent her an email but no response!!!:(

OK .. sooooooo today will be a power walk at lunch if it is not rainy .. it is cooler but still got rain clouds hovering .. we had a GULLY WASHER storm yesterday .. I couldnt even see to get in my drive!! terrible!! Tonight is mish mosh clas - thinkin a bit of everything - plyo - KB - weights - high reps - and floor work  :D have a great one! ;)
