Damage Control STS Style...Sunday

Cathlete
Good Morning.

Okay so I checked the threads THREE TIMES to make sure Miss Lori didn't start one already before I did this! If she is starting one at the same time and hits post a minute or two before I do there is nothing I can do about THAT! :p

In fact, I am going to hit POST right NOW just to make sure that very thing doesn't happen!!!

I'll be back!

Take THAT Lori! ;) LOL

So anyway, I was last to post yesterday so I should be all caught up on personals.

Today is my scheduled rest day but depending on how my day goes I may do STS Disc 1 and rest tmrw instead. Time will tell...

Lower body is still complainin' a bit but it's not bad. Aaaah the joys of DOMS. LOL

BBL!

Good Morning!

I had a little sleep in this morning. I set my alarm for 7:15 but woke up at 6:30....and I decided to reset my alarm for 7:30. It went off at 7:30 but I fell back to sleep until 8! And I could have slept longer. I guess I am catching up on missed sleep. Not only that, DS slept with us all night and the first time I moved it was 6:30?? That doesn't happen when you sleep with a child!

Wendy**It appears as if you are arguing with yourself today;) cause I didn't start the thread....but Im sure if I had you wouldn't have seen it!:p:p I was gonna start it but I checked in to another thread first and when I came back...here it was. I didn't think you would be up this early! Its 8:30 here...which means it's 7 your time!!! I guess when you get up at 4 during the week, 7 is a sleep in. I feel the same about 5:50 and 7:30! Anything pass 7 feels like a sleep in!

One of the girls I am training I am kinda losing interest in. I am learning that I only like the ones who are giving it their best effort. Even though though she pays me I feel like she is wasting my time. She hasn't changed her eating but complains about no weight loss. She doesn't do anything on the days she doesn't see me. She was suppose to sign up for ww's on wed b/c she needs help with her eating and I am willing to bet she didn't do that. And she was suppose to contact me yesterday when she got home but she text me last night and told me that she was still in the city b/c she was to hungover to drive. She doesn't seem to wanna do the work....anyway...we will see what happens this week!

So...my shoulders have some nice DOMS going on from yesterday's workout. I could feel it when I rolled over at 630! I am not sure what my workout is gonna be today. My SIL is joining me so its more likely to be a combo of bike/TM and weights!

I will catch up on personals later!
BBL!
Lori:)

Lori:: I hear ya on the unmotivated "magic pill" wanting client of yours. Good luck with that! Yay for shoulder DOMS. I thought my creaky shoulder might be bothering me today after kickboxing y'day but it seems to be fine so I'm a happy girl! :) Yep-b/c I get up by 4:30 five mornings a week, sleeping in for me is anything past 6am!

Hey there. Total rest day for me today--a scheduled one this time. :D

Tomorrow, just to keep Wendy and Lori from arguing, I will start the thread!! :p I am also up at 5am, but since I'm in Africa on GMT +3, I will beat them both! ;)

JK.

Okay so I wasn't going to say anything b/c I didn't want to draw attn to the bad pic but now I'm excited so I have to! I submitted a success story and am spotlighted this week so I'm getting $100 to spend at ShopCathe plus a 15% off coupon! I will probably buy Ab Circuits and perhaps a set of slanted risers with the coupon but I measured and realized that I can easily pull off the push/pull tower in my work out space! I didn't realize how compact it is! So that's what I am using my g/c towards! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY! I am soooo totally excited now! :D

STS Disc 1 DONE plus the extended stretch. I can't feel my arms! :D

I increased my weight by 1-3 pounds on almost every exercise. One or two were very tough last week so I left the weights the same on them but upped it for everything else. Great work out!

Good Morning Ladies,

We had a great time yesterday for the girls' party. I did have a few tortilla chips and queso so definitely not getting on the scale today. I even had a sliver of cake and don't feel too terrible about it.

It is snowing steadily and we are supposed to get 5-10 inches. If we do get that much snow, I hope they close the office tomorrow so I don't have to drive in it. If I do have to go to work, DH is going to let me take his big 4WD and he and DS1 will carpool in DS's 4WD. I've enjoyed being home for the last 4 weeks and do not want to go back to work.

Today will be disc 4-CST, abs and hopefully a cardio. Sometimes I'm too tired after STS to do a cardio w/o.

Wendy-way to go on the Success Story! I want to get the STS tower also. Nice job on increasing the weights...I love it when I go heavier. You should feel very accomplished!

LauraR-Enjoy your rest day! Sometimes we need a mediator for Lori & Wendy! LOL. We'll definitely have to look on pg 2 if you start the thread. No worries by me though.

Lori-Sorry about the difficulty with one of your clients. Maybe you should reiterate that there are 4 components to fitness-Cardio/Resistance/Flexibility/Nutrition. In order to yield the best results, all areas need to be worked on together and consistently. Maybe I can be your assistant and get your website up and running as well as provide fitness and nutrition articles for you.:) Remember, you are not responsible for your clients results. You get out of it what you put into it...if she is not putting her all into she won't get the results she's looking for. I need to be following these same guidelines. Somehow its much easier to write about than to actually do it. LOL

Jacque-what are you up to lady?

Laura-how are the temps your way? Did you get hit with the ice storm you were talking about?

I've been trying to complete this post for the last hour....between feeding the girls, taking them potty, getting them dressed..but I wouldn't miss it for anything.

Wendy--Congrats on your success story. That's awesome. 100 Cathe Bucks is a great reward, too. :p

I love that Cathe is featuring "real life" stories of people who have found stability and continuity in a healthy lifestyle. Obviously, the stories of folks who lose 100 pounds are amazing and deserve to be featured. But stories like Wendy's are just as much a "success," even if they aren't as drama-filled. Yeah for Wendy, and yeah for Cathe!!

And yeah for your new push-pull tower. I got Christmas money and also ordered one for myself, using the 20% off from ordering the calendar! The tower is coming on a shipping container that our teammates are sending. It should be here at the end of the month. Can't wait. I'll have to pull the STS disks back out just to use it! :D

Hey Girls!

I have all my cc stuff done, all my real job stuff done and now I am going to sit my butt down and do some pt stuff. But I am not going to start until 2 p.m...which gives me 30 mins to check in!

Laura** That's funny. Yes...to keep this a happy family can you please start the thread tomorrow? hehe!

Wendy** That is awesome! I should have taken a picture after I had DS. There is a photo of me a few days before giving birth and trust me...it isn't a pretty one! I bet I could win:D I was H-U-G-E! Anything is worth a try when it comes to winning a $100!

Diana** Glad to hear you had a good day with the girls. I still need to plan DS's party...which I planned on having on Fri! Ya never know..I may need your help in the upcoming months. I am waiting to see if my client contacts me when she gets back today.

Oh..todays workout was 20 mins on the TM, 15 mins on the bike, a little bit of leg work, chest, abs and back. My SIL was beat by the time it was over!
I may bbl!

Lori

OK. Finally time for personals.

Everyone—Thanks for your thoughts about diet drinks and artificial sweeteners. I will drink mine with less guilt.

Also, thanks to everyone for the encouragement in my running. I feel like I’m finally getting traction (no pun intended). I increase the length of my run and decrease the length of my rest tomorrow. I’m pumped.

And thanks to Wendy, Laura, and Diana for video suggestions. Sound like we have some serious video libraries out there!

Wendy—the Amy Bento I have is not step. It is Hi-Lo. It will be amazing if I have video info to give to you! I’ll feel like a real video queen! :p

Lori—your schedule is amazing. 5 sessions in a day. Plus a regular job? Wow. And if taking down the tree is your idea of “relaxing evening,” you have more energy than me, girl. And run, bike, then MMA? Holy Cow. You go!

Laura—I looked at Bob Harper. Wow. Those look awesome. I’ve heard good things about Insanity and would like to try it to. But I would’ve never looked twice at the Brazilian Butt Lift if a Cathlete hadn’t suggested it. Is it tough? Yeah, I used to be all whiney about our internet, and then I learned some of my stateside friends actually had it worse than me. So I had to quit acting pitiful!

Jacque—what are Pace Weights? I’ve seen plate mates, but you said Pace weights work on neoprene?

Diana—Good job on STS legs! I guzzle water on STS leg workouts, too. In fact, those were the workouts where I really discovered the value of sports drinks. I could make it through a workout with just water, but I was dying at the end. The sports drink gave me just enough umph to finish strong (but still way tired!) And good for you, packing coolers to take to work. That’s commitment! And my runs are all outside. We have great weather year-round. I love being outside.

Enjoy the last hours of your weekend. I’m heading to bed!

Hi ladies,

My w/o this morning was STS-Chest, Shoulders and Biceps, and Absolute Kickboxing and abs. AK is not a good calorie burner for me. I did the cardio intervalled with the combat drills and abs. Only burned 475 cals in an 85 min w/o...very disappointing.

I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow. Oh well, I would love to be a stay at home housewife. Jerod is in High School so other than carpooling duties, he doesn't need much mothering right now. DH and I need to take a serious look at our finances and set a retirement goal and get busy working on it. We are both 45 but have spent most of our money on the kids sports...still paying for that and DS2's college...also still paying on that. We need to prepare for DS3's college and retirement...it kind of seems hopeless right now. But I think with a goal and a plan to get there it won't be so overwhelming. We both utilize the 401K accounts at our respective employers and have been forever.

LauraR-thanks for the info on the sports drinks. We usually have them on hand as my youngest son plays a lot of sports. My downfall is chocolate chips. I'm looking forward to giving running another try once I'm released for impact. I was at my lowest weight when I was running all the time...of course this was years ago and I didn't lift weights back then. Now I would never give up weight lifting, it is so important..especially for women.

Lori-so you kicked SIL's butt...way to go!
