Damage Control September!!!

Hi all,

I'm hoping my back is getting better. The Prednisone is helping. Tuesday after work was terrible, but Wednesday it was okay. Diana, I have said no to any more extra hours after last week! It's just not worth it. It did feel like my whole lower back seized up Wednesday morning just as I got in the van to go to work. It went away, but was rather scary. This morning I stretched a bit to warm it up right after I got up (some child's pose, cat/cow, hold one leg bent/other straight, and bridge). I'm hoping that helps.

Diana, being down a pound at night is probably worth like 3 pounds in the morning! Glad you are enjoying the competition. It sounds really motivating! I read an article last night about legumes and linked it here for you: http://paleomagazine.com/paleo-why-legumes-are-bad. Food for thought.

LL, your schedule is intense! Talk about trying to multi-task. It looks like Monday and Friday would be good days to do total body weights and then try to get some walking or short cardio in during the week if you get a half an hour some time. You are definitely in the thick of raising kids and it's not going to get any easier until Little K graduates (18 years). Eat clean, get good sleep, and work out when you can. Do you do gym class with the boys? When I homeschooled we rode bikes, roller skated, walked, and went to the pool.

I got my fridge all cleaned out yesterday! Food prep today.

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did CCC for a change of pace. Not sure if I will get an STS disc in or not. I've been doing each week twice. My goal was to finish Meso 1 twice through-the way Cathe originally intended-before I head to San Diego. It doesn't look like I'll get through week 4 twice. Oh well, I'm just going to do what I can and pick up where I left off when I return.

We had a great meeting on Tuesday. Our coach talked about Actions = Expectations. If you aren't reaching your expectations, you need to either increase your actions or lower your expectations. For me, that means keeping my diet tight. This is the hard part for me. I love to exercise, but clean eating all the time is really hard. Planning and preparation are key for me to be successful.

LL-I don't envy you, and I don't miss those stressful days. I was a wreck in my 30's with all the rushing around I had to do. Just don't forget to take care of you while you are taking care of everyone else. Is it possible to carpool with another family so you are doing all the running around?

Beth-I'm glad the prednisone is working. Do you start PT soon? Thanks for the legume link. Very interesting read. Most of it I had read before, however, I was not aware of the estrogen impact. That's why I have avoid soy-it affects my thyroid medication. I mentioned before about having breast tenderness and the gal that did my mammo said that could just be a sign of pre-menopause. Well I've gone several days without peanut butter and the tenderness is gone. My body actually felt so much better following whole 30.

Waving Hi to Tina!

Hi Ladies,

This morning was a 50 min BR w/o and STS disc 9-legs. I dropped a few more things off at the Salvation Army. We had a ton of boxes laying around so I took them to the recycling center. It's so nice clearing out the clutter.

Now we are just waiting for my cousin and her husband to arrive. They are staying with us tonight. Dinner and drinks are on the agenda. I'm may enjoy a cocktail or 2 but am going to stick to protein and veggies for dinner.

What's everyone else up to?
