Damage Control - Return to Reality Monday!!

Good Morning Girls.

Okay, wth is up with this now...DH goes out and drinks last night and I am the one who wakes up with a headache!?! It's minimal but still!

Today's work out plan so far is endurance leg work and a leetle cardio. Totally have no clue how I will do it but I'll get back to y'all on that! :p

I hit the bullseye on the DOMS! Wow are my arms sore from ME y'day! It's great! ;)

Guess that's all for now since I was last to post last night!

BBL to see what's goin' on!

So Jen, how was your weekend? Why are you back so soon? Don't you have off from work today!?!? You should have stayed at the beach silly!!!!!:D

Ohohohoho....do I ever need to return to reality today and get myself and my diet back on track!

Wendy: I'm here to provide you company in the food overindulgence category this weekend! Oh man, I'm surprised I didn't gain ten pounds this weekend  It started Friday night on the drive up to Maine, and a stop in Portsmouth, NH for dinner. We were both starving for some reason, (I was ravenous all day on Friday), and ordered baked brie as an appetizer. This should have been my warning! I mean, usually I'll at least order a salad with dressing on the side if I need something before the meal gets there, but there's nothing like a big, baked hunk of cheese wrapped in puffed pastry, served with a warm fruit relish and buttery toast wedges to start things off right :p It was delish, but I dare not think of the damage that caused. I tried to minimize it by having haddock for dinner, but you know how that is...they bake in in breadcrumbs soaked in butter  Anyway, that was the start of the weekend. I have to say the didn't improve from there. However, we did tons of walking and shopping :D, that had to burn some calories, right?? I did try to make up for it a bit when I got home yesterday but going for an hour long run. I'm sure it didn't undo all the damage, but it at least prevented me from getting too lazy.

Sounds like you beat yourself up a bit yesterday in the workout department! Great job, especially considering how you were feeling! Are you almost done with the meds? Do you feel like your sinus infection is just about gone now? Sounds like a very successful trip to Target! I love that store. What kind of tinted moisturizer did you buy? I recently switched from regular foundation to Olay's combo foundation/moisturizer and I really like it. I have to say it has really made my skin look better.

Lori: How ya' doin', party girl? Sounds like the party was a success if it was still going strong at two and you had to sneak away to hit the sack! How did brunch go at your inlaws? Was this another large gathering or just the immediate family? I better stop thinking of brunch now because it's making me hungry :p

Jacque: What goes on at a Mushroom Mardi Gras? That sounds like fun. Hope you have a productive day today and are able to get those chores done. I will NOT be weeding today, because I hate doing that. :p Not much of a gardener here  But my DS has a bit of a green thumb, so I leave those chores to him. Unfortunately, he came home from his Dad's last night with a 103.5 fever, so today's going to all about R&R for him. My weeds will have to wait until next weekend.

Diana and Laura: Hope you are both enjoying this lovely holiday and that the weather is good where you are! Today is a gorgeous day here.

So I'm heading out to the garage for Burn Circuit 2 before it gets busy around here, or in other words, before house work starts to call. Will bbl to see who's around today~

Jen

Wendy: Took me forever to write that last novel  So we came back from the beach last night because the weather was NOT beach weather this weekend! In fact, we'd have probably gotten more sun if we had stayed home. We gained 20 degrees in the first hour of the drive south yesterday. When we left Old Orchard at around one yesterday it was 57 degrees and drizzling, and by the time we hit the NH border it was 70 degrees, and it was almost 80 when we entered Massachusetts! We had a great time together, though. It's nice to just get away from all the daily demands. SO has so many people hounding him all the time (he's a lawyer and all his biggest clients have his cell phone # ugh), that we actually have to leave the area to get any time alone. We're lucky to have that condo in the family because it means we can make last minute plans and just take off. But I don't know how much longer that'll be available as my parents have it listed for sale :( Oh well, sign of the times...what can you do? I figure we'll just take advantage of it now while we can.

Jen,

OMG baked brie!? My mom and I go NUTS over that stuff! YUM YUM and MORE YUM!!!!!! I'm jealous! :p Sorry about the crappy weather but I'm glad it you 2 still had fun. Heck, how could you NOT have fun...the weather FORCED you to go SHOPPING!?!? :D

Oh great...my dog just threw up...and OFCOURSE...he did so on the CARPET!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Well, gotta go clean it up now!

So....anyone have any BBQ plans for today? I wish I did but sadly...I don't. :(

Jen, I have just a few more days of meds and I can't wait to be done. I never noticed (tho I never paid attn either) the affect antibiotics have on one's weight! ICK! I am gaining .5-.8 of a pound every single day regardless of my diet and exercise for the day! This weight better come off as fast as it's going on once I am done with the meds!

Wendy: It's all water. Once you're off those meds it'll flush right out of you. It's physically impossible that you'd be gaining actual weight (i.e. fat) that fast every day. The meds are just screwing with you.

Just finished BC2. It almost killed me today. Those crazy one-legged bowler squats get me pretty darn good.

No BBQ plans for today! I had been invited to one yesterday, but those plans were scrapped when DS came home feeling like crap. It's all good, though...don't need the extra calories today!

Oh, btw, I ordered the Go Wear Fit the other day. It's supposed to get here tomorrow. I think this is the final stamp on the fact that I'm obsessed with my weight. Yup. I really don't have any I need to lose now that I dropped a few through the surgeries and stuff, but I have maybe 3-4 lbs. I'd like to shed to look nice and lean, and so I've convinced myself that I need this GWF to accomplish that. Plus, it's yet another fitness gadget, and we all know how impossible it is to resist those fitness gadgets! I'm also justifying it by telling myself that after I've gotten what I want out of it, we can reset the user info and then SO can use it, too. He's got a few lbs. he'd like to lose. Therefore, it's wasn't a totally selfish purchase :p

K, off to hit the showers, will bbl, cuz yeah, there's no work for me today!

Jen

Hey Gals!:)

Monday=yuck! I guess its good to be alive...LOL I work tonight and to tell you the truth, ever since I started working night shifts by myself...I love it. I go into work and I am the only one there! I can do whatever I want and i don't have to worry about hearing how I don't do anything;)

We were planning on going for a run in the a.m but its wet and a little chilly outside. We are putting our run off until after lunch so I will do disc 7 soon...and hope that DS lets me do it. He is obsessed with going outside so I can only imagine how many times he will be crying at the door! Ugh! He spent the whole weekend outside and slept like a log!

Wendy** I love ME! Such a goodie. I was thinking yesterday that its been a long time since I have done a Cathe cardio. I have been strictly running for a long time and I don't see me changing that anytime soon! Are you doing any races this summer?

Jen** I don't think the party ended until 4'ish...and I was long gone by then! It was fun though. I hear ya on the diet part...I need to fine tune mine as well. It as kind of been all over the place. Then when I eat like that and I try to be good, I am hungry all the time:confused:

Funny story...so my BIL's bro was here for the week b/c of everything that was going on. He is only 22, just finished collage, had to catch his flight at 2 and starts his new job today. When we were getting ready to go to my inlaws yesterday morning, he was no where to be found. We thought that maybe he had when to a club, met up with some girl and went home with her. Brunch was put off for about 2 hrs b/c we were looking for him...or waiting to hear from him, there really was no where to look. He was also with his cousin, who was also no where to be found. His mother and father were getting worried and annoyed b/c he had to catch a flight in an hour. Then someone said, "did you check the girls play house" My BIL thought that there was no way they would have fell asleep in the play house. My DH went and looked...there they were...the two of them, in snowsuits and rubber boots on asleep in the playhouse. To much to drink prehaps? Where they got the bright idea to sleep in the play house is beyond me...Im sure it seemed like a great idea at the time! My DH said that it was the funniest thing he as ever seen. He thought he was going to die when he seen him running across the lawn with his outfit on and his hair everywhere.! LOL

Just had to share!

I will BBL!
Lori:)

Lori, Glad you are enjoying your solo night shifts. I get it about being able to do what ya want and not be bothered but man I think I'd get lonely. My BF worked nights for a while as a dispatcher for the Messenger Svc we both worked for at the time. She HATED it. Then again, she had worked regular 9-5 hours her whole working life previous to that so she was SOOOO not used to it. In addition, it was a high stress job so the odds were stacked against her from the start. Funny story about your BIL's brother. 22 years old, huh? I can tell! :p I am the exact opposite of you right now. I am only running once per week and enjoying the heck out of the other cardio options I have the rest of the time! I should start taking spin class once a week again. That should put a good hurtin' on me! ;)

Jen:

I have been hemming and hawing over the GWF for a while now. I want it but I don't want to spend the money on it cause I seriously don't know if I'll use it beyond the first week! The fact that you are supposed to wear it all the time is what bugs me. I am in the process of looking for a job. I can't go to a job interview or start a new job with this crazy contraption on my arm!!!...Can I!?!?:eek::eek: Well anyway, I can't wait to hear what you think. Many folks around here seem to be getting great weight loss results while using it and I'm sure it should help with maintainence as well! Will your DSO really be willing to wear it? I think my DH would look at me like I'm nuts! :p

Thanks re the meds. It's very disheartening to see the scale shooting up the way it is even though I know it's the meds. It'll be interesting to see what weight I top out at by the time the course is done! :p

Yeah the bowlers lunges are the best, aren't they!? LOL

Off to try and do something constructive....

Buh-bye! :)

Hi ladies,

Well I pretty much wasted the day a way yesterday. I caught up on all....all my recordings and didn't do much else. Today will be different. I'm heading down to finish my last STS w/o in a bit. I also need to tidy up the house a bit and make sure all the bills are paid. It's been rainy all weekend so we can't do much outside.

Wendy-It's about time you start feeling better missy! ME, I haven't done that w/o in ages. I didn't know you used to take spin classes. My legs were fried the other night after spinning for an hour. My rec ctr does offer an early spin class, 5:30 or 6am.

Jen-You'll have to let us know how you like the GWF. I've also looked into it but just can't justify the cost right now. So your beach weather wasn't what you expected, sorry to hear that. Oh Yeah, the bowler's lunge is a goodie!

Jacque-Sounds like you had a lot of fun at the Mushroom Mardi Gras!! Weeds...they can wait. I think I must be stalling finishing STS because I'm not sure what rotation is next. Nothing to get excited about.

Lori-funny story about your bil's brother. Oh...to be 22 again! Are you planning on running in any races this summer. I do miss running but my feet can't take much more than an hour or so run. I'm also thinking of following my mary training just to get back in to running a bit this summer. I'ts 4 days of running per week with longer runs on the weekends. I'll have to come up with some kind of plan soon anyway.

Laura-hope you had a great party!!!

bbl-after my w/o.

Im done with Disc 7 and my arms are fried....so many pushups:confused:! I guess I will have a snack and get ready for my run. The weather hasn't really changed much at all! It still looks like its gonna rain!

Wendy** Yes to be 22 again. I think i was planning my wedding actually! LOL He is far from planning a wedding. It was soooo funny though. I don't think his parents could even get mad at him, b/c technically, he didn't go anywhere! haha! So no races this summer? But you did just finish a 18 miler a while ago. I think i am going to bite the bullet and do a marathon in the next yr. I think my running partner would be interested in running it with me, which makes training more enjoyable. I think my sister as a training book for me for my b-day!:D

Diana** If it makes you feel any better, I really didn't do anything yesterday either. By the time we found the 22 yr old was found and we ate it was 1:45, needless to say, he didn't make it to brunch! I think I am going to do the same races I did last yr. Im not sure if I am going to do the 20K run though, that was the toughest thing ever and knowing what I have to face...makes me not want to do it;) BUt i am a sucker for punishment so who knows?

I will bbl! Time to get a snack and lunch for DS!

Lori:)

Lori: Nope, no races on tap as of yet. Perhaps I'll do a few short ones but I think that will be all. Good luck with the marathon for next year! I am sure you'll do fabulously. If anyone can get through the rigors of training and run a strong race it'll be you. You seem to be a natural at it. :)

Diana: Perhaps you just needed the R&R yesterday. Have fun with the final STS disc. Have you made a final decision on what you will do next?

*****

So I am going to do TJ Lower Body Jam and a cardio only premix from Drill Max today. Tmrw or Wednesday I will start a week of the BBC series. By the time I am done with that I should have all of my new dvd purchases in my hot little paws and will begin putting together a rotation for myself for the next few weeks. :)

Gotta go throw some clothes on. DS wants to go out in the yard to play for a bit.

BBL though!

I decided to fill up the pool for DS so we haven't even been outside yet. Had to wait on it to fill up/warm up a bit. In the meantime I banged out my work out:

DM Cardio Premix with my own lower body weight work in between drills:

Cardio Drill #1
40 weighted squats
Cardio Drill #2
40 weighted standing side leg lifts per leg
Cardio Drill #3
40 weighted standing rear leg lifts per leg
Cardio Drill #4
45 non weighted calf raises off step (15 toes forward/15 toes in/15 toes out)
Cardio Drill #5
20 weighted forward/backward lunges per leg (1 of each on same leg is one rep, repeat 20 times then switch legs)
Cardio Drill #6
25 weighted plie squats per leg, 40 weighted inner thigh leg lifts per side
Fall down on the floor in a puddle of sweat! :D

Lori: The story about your BIL cracks me up! I can totally picture that! I can't say I've ever done anything exactly like that, but I will admit to nights of overindulgence at that age  and I gotta say I don't really miss them. They were fun at the time, though!

Diana: Catching up on your recordings is just as important as any other endeavor ;) I know...I used my recovery time to do just that! Plus, it's a holiday weekend! That is what they're for! I certainly have no business spending the money on the GWF like I did...but I had put some money aside for taking SO away for his b-day, and when we scrapped that idea for my family's condo instead, I seized the moment and decided to blow the money on myself :p I'll def be reporting on it.

Wendy: I'm actually worried about wearing that thing on my arm all the time, too, especially at work. Now that the better weather is getting here, short sleeves and sleeveless are typically my wardrobe of choice. But I do have the option of throwing on a blazer, and I do have my own office where I get a good amount of privacy, so I'm thinkin' I can make it work. Worse comes to worst, I'll be explaining to my co-workers what it is, and they'll get a rare glimpse into the obsessive mind of Jen. They don't know me very well at all, so this should be interesting. DSO is in suits all the time, usually with long sleeve shirts, so he could wear it without it ever being noticed.

I need to hit the market some time today, or WalMart, and I don't know which one I really want to brave. Plus, DS has something goin' on. He's now coughing his head off and has some head congestion, too. I wouldn't be concerned if it wasn't for the fever last night, and DSO found out from his mom yesterday that both his brother and neice have swine flu right now, so it's hitting close to home. I don't know if I should dare take him out of the house today. You know...it's always something, isn't it?:rolleyes:

Will bbl ~

Jen

P.S. Wendy, great w/o! I like these combos you're putting together. I think I'm going to copy and paste them into a word doc for future reference for wehn I'm done with CLX!

Wendy: FYI, and you probably have already seen this, but someone in the O/F found the Valor squat stands on Overstock for a pretty decent price. Not to enable or anything :p But there's a set that's normally $180 for $150 on Overstock. Probably something to keep an eye on if you're in need of them in the future.

Hey there ladies !

Well this is perhaps the least productive weekend I have had in a LONG TIME ! Oh well, I just don't care. :p I did manage to groom my furgirl on Fri nite - guess that was about the extent of productiveness for me, LOL !

Never worked out yesterday cuz I started my weed pulling, iced a bit after about half an hour (but did get one of my tomato plants caged ! - two to go). I think the ugly weather has "deproductivized" me, Ha ! We have had nearly 70' but not until early afternoon. In addition, when I was cooking the other morning for the work BBQ my microwave stopped for good. So yesterday was microwave shopping and DH is moving slowly this weekend due to a hockey injury and some badly bruised ribs. He is not one to complain at all, but he is def in some pain lately. We are quite a couple with me moaning when I move my back and him moaning when he moves period !

My next STS is supposed to be legs but I don't want to do deadlifts right now. Not sure what I'm gonna do.

Wendy - well you are definitely a workout queen these days ! How long did your Double Cardio + legs take you? Looks like a great one there. I did check out your DVD's but think I'll wait and go for CLX in a couple of months instead. Especially since I did preorder STS Cardio. And I too have been checking out the GFW but had way too many expenses this month - perhaps when the credit card bill closes on the 5th? How much longer for the meds? We don't have BBQ plans with anyone else, but will be BBQ'ing something for dinner. Think I may go get a chicken and have some of the veggies I just bought added to the grill. Sounds good to me right now as we have been wingin' it the past couple of nights.

Jen - Sorry you had ugly weather but I do remember sitting at the beach in the rain in my younger days. I just love the beach no matter what the weather - sun of course it the best though ! ;) Nice job on getting in a long run yesterday - my eats haven't been horrible as I have watched the portions, but the content pretty much has not been good ! No scale for me for at least a few days ! I'm going to be waiting with baited breath to see what you think of the GFW - I did wear my HRM once for 24 hours and showed a 2400 cal burn - but you'd think eating 1500 - 1600 cals a day would create a loss and it isn't. I may need to up the cals but am a chicken cuz I don't want to add right now. So please please please make sure to fill us in on what you think. It is actually sitting in my amazon shopping cart as of last night ! :p Hope DS gets to feeling better as the day goes on here.

Lori - well you had an interesting weekend, huh? Love the story about BIL's bro. Too funny - will be a great one to tell to his girlfriend's one day ! LOL ! Good job getting the running in rain or shine ! I am like you and love it when my assistant is not at work. I enjoy the independence and am not into being BF's with my co-workers. Most think I am non-social, but they all like to gossip way too much and my assistant drinks and gets a loose tongue all the time. She thinks letting others know what HR knows gets her friends so I have to keep lots to myself and watch what I say or others will hear about it. Sorry you have to work tonight, but at least you had a few days off !

Diana - you and me both in the productive arena this weekend. I'm just feeling like I need a break these days or I'd be working on chores right now. I hope you figure out your next week of cardio soon - please let me know because I think I may do a week of cardio IF I ever finish STS here ! I saw that you were supposed to have thunder and lightening in Denver today? WTH ? Is that normal at this time of the year for you? Hope it doesn't get too bad.

Hey Laura - hope it was a great lot of fun for you regardless of the weather (which didn't look like it was going to cooperate according to our weather reports !:().

Well ladies - enjoy your day before we all hit the grind again tomorrow !
