Good Morning DC Girls! :D

Well since I ran my little heart out y'day, today will be my rest day. I have to take DS to the doc for his well visit right smack in the middle of the afternoon so finding time to work out could be a pain in the neck anyhow.

Jen:: I plan to start a new week of SS tmrw with Shape It Up. Will you be joining me, girl? :) So did you lighten that truck load of work y'day? Good job with Burn It Off and PUB! Nice combo. Doing PUB only one way is nice cause you can really concentrate on going heavy! When doing the full pyramid I have to lighten up alot. It kicks my azz! Oh and don't get too excited about my 5 mile run. I did not push myself very hard. I kept it on the slower side TBH but it felt good. I actually had to stop during the warm up and stretch my calves. I thought they were going to cramp up on me! My back feels better this morning finally but my calves are still on fire! YIKES!

Jacque:: Yes, SS is endurance all the way and she works body parts back to back. It's killer-especially on the legs! :) As Diana mentioned, the complaints for Insanity are on it's calorie burn but it doesn't bother me. HIIT was developed to burn less calories but more fat per work out. Who can complain about that?? I know I sure won't!!! :D So you think you might want the program now too? Heheh. Something tells me we are ALL going to cave in due time. ;)

Diana:: Sorry about your ipod. Time for a new one I guess? I was going to say, don't let the complaints about Isanity deter you but I guess I don't have to! :) Sorry you are having so many issues getting the GWF figured out. You and Jacque are making me rethink it now. I am not a patient person. If it's that hard to get up and running then perhaps I need to pass on it. Besides, I think I may have FINALLY found the answer to weight loss for me! My weight has steadily been dropping since Monday!!!! In fact, I hit a new low (since I began this battle!) this morning! :D

BBL!

Good Morning girlies!

TGIF! I'm so looking forward to wearing my comfy jeans today :) Love casual Fridays.

I came home last night and went for a six mile run. My body is spent today, so I'm making it a rest day. I stayed in bed til almost 6:30 this morning...yay me!

Wendy: Count me in for Shape It Up! Gotta admit that I didn't exactly focus on going heavy with my pyramid up scheme yesterday  as I was doggin' it a bit overall, but I've got some UB DOMS this morning so I must've done something right! Glad to hear your feeling a bit better this morning. Doin' the happy dance for you and your happy scale :D Woo hoo!!

Diana: I've had problems with my ipod before after dropping it. It has completely frozen up on me. When that happened, I researched online for a way to reset it, and there's a combination of buttons that you can hold down that allows you to restart the whole thing. You don't lose your music either. The combination is different for each model. When I get to work I'll look online to see if I can find the site I used and will post it if I'm successful. Good job braving bc class last night!

Jacque: Great run for you too! The GWF is responsible for my recent running addiction. I find it so motivating to see the solid numbers. Not surprised your HRM showed a higher burn. That's definitely one of the eye openers from the GWF. So how did you do overall for the day? Did you get those steps in ;)?

Hi to Laura and Lori!

Will bbl when I'm at work.

Jen

Good Morning!

I went to visit my parents for a few days and just got home yesterday evening but didn't have anytime to check in. DS is still asleep so this is the perfect time to check in. We were going to go for a run at 9:30 but its almost 9 and he isn't showing any signs of waking up!

We went for a run last night and i thought I was going to be sooooo sick. For some reason the soup I ate was just sitting in my stomach. It was a different kind of soup with different spices so maybe thats why. Other then that, I could have ran and ran and ran! So on Tues i did about 12 kms, Wed 10kms, last night about the same and I don't know how far we are going today.

I also signed up for the same race I did last yr! You guys remember the crazy race with all the hills? Its not until Oct which gives me lots of time to train for it. Training started the 23rd of Aug but I may start doing hills next week to get my bod ready for it! I have also convinced 3 other girls to do it with me! LOL They are going to be so mad at me when its over! haha!

Wendy** How far did ya run yesterday???

Jen** Good job with the 6 miler! Nothing like a little sleep'in!

I will bb later. I am working night shifts so I will have lots of time to check in this weekend!

Mornin' Ladies,

We had company drop by last night and so I didn't make it to bootcamp class. I was running a bit late anyway since I was trying to get my ipod working... I finally went to the apple website and started with resetting it...It's fully charged and working!:D

I have my Q2 review with my new boss. This is his first management position. I don't expect anything major to come out of this review but at least I hope to have an idea of what's going on.

I have all next week off as vacation. We aren't going anywhere, but we are doing lots of house stuff. Cleaning out closets, possibly moving the kids bedrooms around, cleaning the basement, etc. I hope to have major decluttering done.

Wendy-It's not that the GWF is hard to get working, it just doesn't come with thorough instructions and the website isn't very intuitive. I still think I will like it after I have it all figured out. I'm doing Imax 2 this morning and I think I will wear my hr monitor and compare the calorie burn. Congratulations on your new low!!!;)

Jen-I was able to get my ipod working again. I have the nano and love it. I clip it on my shorts when I'm running or working out at the rec ctr. I also have my CC w/o's on their and can plug my ipod into my elliptical and listen to my own music if I want to.

Lori-did you have a nice visit with your parents? I wish I could back into running like you. I used to really enjoy it...it was my zen time! Nothing compares to the way a good run makes you feel. Have fun training for your crazy hill race...how long is it?

Time for me to get that w/o started. BBL to see what everyone else is up to!

Diana: Maybe this will help: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320

Lori: Welcome back, girl! Great workouts for you. How cool that you got other girls to run the race with you! That will be soooo much fun. How long is this race?

Edit: I see you beat me to it, Diana! Glad to hear it's working again :)

Top o' the "Friday" (Yes FRIDAY) morning ladies !

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Wow I can't believe the week is over already - but it is great ! Ready for the weekend ! Woo Hoo. I have nothing planned - getting tired of being away from the house and not getting any chores done. Did I say that?

Tonight's workout will be BM2. Hoping to get home early enough to do the entire workout. Otherwise will cut back just a wee bit for probably an hour's worth.

Wendy - ITA with Diana that there just aren't enough instructions. It must be easy if all these peeps using it have figured it out already ! :p Probably why they haven't bothered to update the instructions. WAY TO GO on the scale side of things girl ! And you were out for dinner last night too ! Why bother with GWF if you have it all figured out? You can always get it later if something changes. (Yep like aging ! ;)) Have to say my OB pretty much laughed at me the other day. She said "Ha, I was 125 when I got married and now I am struggling to stay at 160". She is quite a bit taller than me and I'd be rolling around if I ever got to 160. Actually, that is where I was with my kids - gained a steady 35 lbs. no matter what I ate - gave me a glucose test and told me to cut the carbs on the last two. Probably my issue now. BUT, I'll be damned if I let this get me ! I WILL FIGURE IT OUT ! :D

Jen - Sounds like you are turning into a "mini-Lori" ! LOL ! ;) I like the feeling after running - but do enjoy other workouts too. Can't wait to compare the different types of cardio and what really intrigues me is the afterburn effect. Think that is where Insanity is helping everyone. Haven't downloaded yet but will post at lunch. After my run it was showing 8500 steps so don't think I got them all in. May be on the TM at lunch rather than sitting in front of the tube !

Lori - Good to hear you were off having fun ! Sounds like you have been quite the "visiting" girl lately. Great job in recruiting some friends to run with you. Are you on a daily running plan? Is this the 10 miler or 18 miler with the hills? Is work going better for you lately?

Diana - glad your nano is back up and running. After reading what Jen wrote I remember mine freezing too. Hope your review goes well. What a great company - I pull teeth to get my managers to do reviews once a year and even then, most are 6 months late ! Sounds like you will be busy this coming week - think that is what I will be doing at some point soon too. Perhaps not an entire week, but at least a long weekend. Or perhaps this GWF will get me off my bootie and doing stuff after work instead? Don't forget to post your IM2 results - I almost did a blast premix last night but chickened out !

Just remembered that Laura is off in the Keys about now. Happy Times vibes to Laura !

Off to get ready for work - check y'all later girls !

ACK...I found us on page 2.

Jen or Jacque-how do I tell my cal burn for Imax 2 this morning on the GWF??? I think one of the reasons the hr monitor may show a higher cal burn is because I turn mine on before I start my w/o...So it is on for the warmup, workout and cooldown. I don't know how to tell what my cal burn was during the time of my workout on the GWF. I did reach my 5K step goal by 8:30 this morning...obviously due to the step workout. I also need to modify my goals.

bbl

Diana: There are two ways I can think of to tell your cal burn for the workout. First and easiest, and probably for future reference, there's a trip button on the display unit. If you hold the button in for you few secs, it'll reset the trip to zero, thereby counting your burn for that activity. Second, when you upload and look at your activity graph for the day, you can move the slider just above the graph so that it starts at the time you started the workout and ends at the end time of the workout. (That kind of sounds a bit confusing even to me, the writer of the sentence.) If you play around with it for a bit you might see what I'm talking about. Once you do that, you'll see the cals burned for the time frame you've chosen just above the graph on the right-hand side. HTH! Let me know if you need further clarification and I'll try to explain it better ;)

Jacque: I'm interested in hearing whether you notice any afterburn with your workouts, because when I look at my graphs I see none. If anything, the GWF has debunked that belief for me :( It certainly make you want to move more though when you see the difference between sitting and doing anything else. So did you make it on the treadmill at lunch?

Hey there girlies,

Home at lunch - not hitting the TM today  - gonna just veg and will do the entire BM2 ! (yep that is the plan) !

Diana - I did as Jen mentioned and used the Trip feature last night. When you set it at 0 then it will toggle between current cal burn / min. and total cals burned since reset. Good job on the 5K so far !

I also figured out that I will track my food on Fit Day and enter into a spreadsheet, then download the GWF into into a spreadsheet and merge for overall cal intake and macros totals too.

Jen - I notice that a couple hours after my workout I was still at 3.5/cals per min while fixing doggie/people food in the kitchen for an hour or so. It took quite a while to get down there, probably 2 hours. Not sure what it is during a normal sitting/walking time so will need to play a bit there and will post my results. Will check it after BM2 which should be less intense than last night's CC w/o.

Haven't played with the graphs yet but did see that I was laying down 7:50 mins and slept 6:55 last night. Not too bad for me . . . I did show a cal burn of 2095 but that was partially derived as an average since I didn't put it on until 7 AM yesterday. Can't wait to see how it all pans out. If that is right then there is no way I should be gaining at all - should be losing as I probably eat more than 1500 - 1600 cals a day once a week, maybe sometimes 2 on a bad week.

Wendy - hope your day is going well - sorry about all the GWF talk here ! However, I wish I had had the success at figuring all this out on my own and I would have saved $250 and lots of time ! :p

Off to eat ladies !

Well...while all of you ladies are excited that its friday..I on the other hand have to work so I can't wait for Monday to come!!!:D So I hope your weekend flies by!:p

We did another 14 km run today. I was going to bring my ab dvd to work with me but I didn't! Shoot! I could have gotten a good ab workout here all by myself!

Diana** I can't tell you the last time I decluttered. I use to get in the mood to clean and dig but since DS came along, I can't find the time. I guess someday when he invites a friend over to play, I will be able to clean! The race is 20 kms long but there is only 3 kms of flat. I don't think my "friends" will be friends with me after they do this race! LOL

Jacque** I think my visiting as come to an end. My sister leaves next weekend and she won't be back until next yr:( Her yrs mat leave is over so its back to work for her.She has been home alot this past yr, I think we will have a hard time adjusting to a full yr without seeing them. DId you do BM2 yet? I haven't done that one in a while.

I may bb later. I have a few things to do around here and then I want to watch Y&R!

Lori:)

Holy Crap! I am NEVER selling on AMAZON again! I sold 3 things for my mom and 1 was a minor problem and one is turning into a major event! The woman who purchased it is freakin' nuts! If she keeps arguing I am going to write to amazon to find out what to do. I can't believe this is happening.....OY!

Sorry, I just had to vent to my girls!

Now I gotta get ready to go out. Gonna need a drink really badly at this point!

Have a great night peeps!

:eek:Hey girlie friends !

So just finished BM2 in it's entirety (minus most of the push ups) and it was great ! Felt much stronger on the higher step today than I did on Monday when I did BM. So HRM showed 777 cals burned and GWF showed 469. Quite a difference. Only got up to 5.2/min but now, 45 min. later I'm sitting at the computer and still showing 4/min. Today while I was walking around the house before my workout it was 1.4/min. So we are getting a decent afterburn going here. Last night with a 45 min workout though (CC so some 3 HIIT's) I was showing 7.1/min. Guess that is why running works better. I am thinking that 2 FB, 1 circ and at least 2 running days is good. Will see what a steady state run does tomorrow.

Lori - good to hear work isnt' too bad. Nice job on your run again. LOL about bringing your abs w/o to work to do ! Guess it isn't a sweaty one so why not? :p

Wendy - bummer about the weirdo from Amazon. Good thing you didn't know it was me ! JK ! ! ! Did you give in to a CAB ? I'm short on the cals tonight and may have a glass of wine. Not feeling it now, possibly a chocolate pudding instead. We'll see if I have any cravings. Cardio doesn't make me very hungry.

Off for the evening. See y'all in the AM ! Enjoy.
