Damage Control November!

Hi gang. Anyone out shopping today? I'm not! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I was reading this AM about changing one's perspective from: I HAVE to "workout", "shop", "cook", etc. to: I GET to "workout", "shop", etc.

Well, sometime early this week I hurt my back. It hurts a lot when I bend over without holding in my core. I've been taking ibuprofen, using a heating pad, and resting. I'm still trying to work out. Thank goodness for the LIS! I did Cardio Supersets yesterday and will probably do Upper Body Trisets today. I feel like it's slowly getting better.

Diana...I'm sorry to hear about the layoffs. Maybe they'll let you work from home full time? I'll be thinking about you and sending positive energy your way!

LadyLep-hang in there with your sick brood. The young ones have to develop their immune systems. My two never went to the doctors much and don't get sick too often. It just takes a lot of patience when they are young. Your Thanksgiving dinner sounded wonderful! We went to a restaurant and brought home dessert and leftovers. It was a nice change this year. I'll mention in my letter to Santa about getting you some pretty hefty weights! I did Party Rocking Step 2 on Tuesday-love that one! I'm really bad at PRS 1 though...can do combo 3 and am working on 4.

Fembot-I wish I could get my husband to workout with me to Cathe! I think a few years back he tried an ab section and decided it was not for him. I wish we could bike now-great cardio and it probably wouldn't hurt my back!

Beth, sorry about your back. But glad you are able to do LIS. Did you ice it at all? That has helped me when my back hurts...

Butt and guts yesterday! It wasn't too bad, but today I am sore!! I had big plans for a 500+ cal burning workout but I just don't think I can do it. I ate entirely way too much yesterday!! Im actually only up a half a pound, but i was up a hall a pound earlier this week. :(

It depends on how I feel this afternoon if I do a workout and how much time I have. I need to get JTrain to the doc to chek his shoulder, arm bone humerus I guess, but it's up by his shoulder...and then to WholeFoodsMarket they are having a 20% off whole body sale and I need more dr Hauschka makeup and skin care!

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. Wednesday was BR day 10 and yesterday was the 10K. Today will be the next STS disc which is legs and a cardio TBD. I may give PRS 2 a try since everyone seems to really like it. I've done both of them a couple times when I first got them, but not enough to have an opinion on either of them. What's the word on the RWT series shipping???

Yesterday we had a big family get together at my SIL's. We all bring food and it's simply wonderful to hang out with my in-laws and all the kids. This is the only the second time in history that I haven't gone black Friday shopping. I would plan my attack, head out super early to get what I wanted and be home by 8am. By 10am Discover would call to verify all the charges. :)

LL-your Thanksgiving meal sounds delicious! Hope the kids are better soon. It's so draining taking care of sick children, and you are awesome! If you miss a workout or so don't stress about it, your kiddos need you. Great job with B&G! I have all the Insanity workouts-these are very high impact and super tough. Month 1 workouts are about 40 minutes and Month 2 are up to an hour I think. There is also the Insanity Asylum series that is more athletic type drills and sport specific type agility, coordination etc. Then there is T25, these may only be 25 minutes but are not easy. Chalene Johnson is great too IMO. I did her Chalean Xtreme which I really liked but later sold. The cardio was super fun and I did enjoy the weight training too. I currently have her Turbo Fire series but have only done several w/o's from it. I would be happy to share this with you so you can see if it's something you like. PM me if you are interested. It's fast paced and there is a bit of a learning curve-at least for me anyway. I don't have PiYo or 21 day fix. Laura can give you the lowdown on PiYo, she really likes it.

Beth-oh no, hope your back feels better soon. I've had a lot of issues with my back lately, just twisting the wrong way etc. I do agree with changing our perspectives to the positive side. I worked with a gal who shared several books with me. At work they tend to bring up your flaws or shortcomings in reviews. One of the books I discussed focusing on the positive(s). There's another book I want to read call the Happiness Hypothesis.

Tina-wow, that's a lot of w/o's in one day! Even if you did premixes, it's still a lot...You Go Girl! I have 5 discs left to go to finish up Meso 2.

Laura-hope you had a wonder Thanksgiving!

DH just called me to let me know my purse is in the car he took to work. LOL. I told him it was his way of keeping me from spending any money today. :)

Yesterday we had a power outage from 6 a.m. until noon, so we didn't get our workout in until 9 p.m. last night. We did GS BSB together and then I did Intensity Hiit Low/BC premix on my own. This morning we did Plyo Legs, disc 29 together. Tomorrow will either be a spin workout or MM. I think I'm leaning toward a spin workout, I need a good sweat!

Diana, nice job w/ the 10k on Thanksgiving. I bet it made dinner seem guilt free. Did you end up doing PR2?

LL, my DS broke his arm a few years ago, right below his shoulder. He was young enough that his growth plates were still viable, which made the healing time easier. I hope your DS is pain free now. I think you would really like LL&A, it's a great add on or stand alone workout. I just loaned mine to my sister along with TB. That's why I did them both on Monday. BC u&L is Boot Camp upper and lower premix, which DS and I do for gym.

Beth, I hope your back is feeling better. Are you able to take walks? DH finds that's the best thing for his sporadic back issues. We walk two miles almost every night after dinner loosen up his back. It took my DH years to warm up to Cathe. One day I talked him into doing MM and he's been hooked since, although he will never be able to do anything with even a miniscule amount of choreography. Our kids enjoy watching him just attempt the warm up of MM.

So I ate TERRIBLE yesterday and today! we made chocolate chip cookies and I made 11 loaves of pumpkin bread (I need to make 28 for gifts, only 4 reg sized, rest are to be small). I still have 4 more cups of water to get in my 80 ounces. I stepped on the scale this morning and it was up to 163.3!! I'm up almost 3 pounds from a few days ago!! :(

So I need to kick it back in gear! I'm going to start up another 21 days of no sweets and clean eating. It will be hard as I have an event this Saturday night and a cookie exchange on the 21st. But I wanted to see what I could lose in another 3 weeks.

My stats, I forgot to post are ok for weight:4 pounds and I had gained one this week, I was a little lazy...but I lost 9.25 inches!!! And mostly at my midsection. So I felt great at my reunion last night!

I didn't get any of the workouts on my list in. Yesterday I raked leaves and broke up ice, but mostly I was chasing Little K at my in laws...today I got my workout clothes on but that is as far as I got!! I'm not looking forward to my WW meeting tomorrow night! I was 163.3 at night last week....and I need to make a salad and brownies for the volleyball social "pasta night" on Friday. Maybe I'll add a protein to my salad and try to only eat that!

LL...Don't beat yourself up about it! I am starting today-Dec. 1st with a kick the sugar diet. I'm not eating anything with added sugar. I will still eat carbs, just no added sugar. I'm going to try it for 10 days. We made cookies here over the weekend, too. So I need to get back on the clean eating wagon myself. Glad the reunion went well. Keep drinking lots of water.
