Damage Control...Monday!!!

Hello Girls. :)

Hopefully the thread comes back to life now that it's Monday again. It was quiet y'day!

Today's work out is Tone It Up. No extra cardio is planned for today. Gotta save the energy for the Insanity work out tmrw! ;)

I am almost done with week 3 of SS and I am STILL loving it! I DO have a slight issue though that I think is going to cause me to take a week's break from the rotation very soon. It'll be mid-way so though so it's perfect. I am not sure if it's my hip flexors or my upper thighs or a combo of both but SOMETHING is sooooo very tight in both legs that it is painful and extremely difficult to stretch them. When I normally do a standing hamstring stretch where I pull my leg up behind me it's always pretty easy to do. Well not lately. I can barely do it and my leg won't go back all the way. I think a week off will help. I will do something that is not so lower body intensive. Not sure what that will be yet but I have a couple days to think about it. Any ideas? Remember, it's only one week and then I'm going to go back and finish out SS.

Jacque:: The season's pass to Great Adventure isn't a bad idea though I would never get one if left on my own. I can't go on enough rides there to make it worth it for me to go several times a year but if DH and Joey will go on alot then I will come along for the ride and go on what I can. If we do it, we are going for the combo pass that allows you into their water park, Hurricane Harbor as well! I hear ya on the ugly weather. We ended up having complete crap weather y'day. Spent the entire day inside the house. UGH!

Diana:: I don't even know what DS starts school again! I better check it out! I don't know if we get notified or not! :confused: So when will you begin your new rotation? Glad you had fun with BM. I haven't done that one in so long! I do it in bits and pieces as opposed to doing it all at once. I remember doing the original in full...exhausting! I don't think I've ever done the new one in full! :p As for your DS and his X...I think it's terrible that women have sooo many rights when it comes to the kids and men have next to none. Mom and dad are not together and it's perfectly okay for mom to just pick up and move halfway across the country so that dad has to struggle to see his children (or move out there even if he doesn't want to live there!) yet if Dad is late with ONE support payment he'll get nailed to the wall for it and if he misses a visit he'll be accused of not caring! It makes me sick. Dads are treated very unfairly in this country IMO. Yes there are many dead-beat dads out there but the GOOD guys should have more rights or something. I don't know....just seems WRONG. It's also sad how a mom has to be BEYOND unfit before a father will win custody of his kids. :(

So I guess that's all for now. Gotta get this new week started!

Good Morning girls!

Sorry I went MIA this weekend :eek: but it turned out to be a crazy-busy one! Sunday was both my BIL's and Dad's b-days. My sister had a party for my BIL Saturday night, and then we celebrated Dad's last night. (Yeah, let's not even discuss how much more convenient it would have been to combine the two...for some reason dear-sis just wasn't having it though :rolleyes:) Anyway, I had cooking to do for both, and pretty much did my dad's entirely on my own, which meant shopping for food twice :rolleyes: and gifts, as well. Now I'm glad the weekend is over and I'm back at work to rest ;)

I did get a five mile run in on Saturday morning, and then snuck in a four mile fun yesterday afternoon. I skipped the workout this morning though because I was just too tired.

Wendy: Sorry to hear you're dealing with those tightness issues! Hopefully a week of something different will do the trick. Look for a pm from me today.

Goin' back to read the weekend's threads. Will bbl with personals!

Hi ladies,

I set my alarm for 6 and got up and dressed around 6:15 or so. The bad part is I didn't start my workout until 7am. So much for getting started early! I knew Imax 3 was on tap and didn't feel I had the energy until after having a cup of coffee.

The rec ctr near my office is closed for mtnce this week. I can't be missing my morning w/o's and thinking I can make them up at lunch...at least not this week. Tonight is bootcamp and my normal trainer should be back.

Conveniently...I forgot to mention my eating was terrible yesterday. I had sun chips, ice cream, and cookies yesterday.

The meeting with the NC was very good. I'm down 5lbs and 2.9% bodyfat. I still have a long way to go but at least the scale is moving in the right direction. I have to send her another 2 day food journal for yesterday and today. She may or may not modify my nutrition program but she wants to take a look at my journal.

Wendy-I actually started the rotation yesterday. Today called for a 35 min interval and coremax 1. Imax 3 is really hard not to finish...for me anyway..so I just did the whole thing. We always do ab work at bootcamp. I'm so looking forward to your Insanity review! It's hard because my DS was working here in CO and did cover the girls medical insurance. He quit his job and moved out there and has not been able to find work. It does not look good for him though since he is not working even though he has the girls best intentions. He could've stayed here and just sent money, but he woule never be part of their lives if he did that.

Jen-Wow, you had quite the busy weekend. I for one do not like to share my bday with anyone so I kind of understand. One of my sister birthdays is the end of Aug, mine is Sept 1st, other sister is Sept. 2nd, other sister is Sept 6th. My 2 brothers had it great, one bday is July, the other Nov.,no sharing of parties needed. Take today and recover, you've earned it.

Lori-what did DH get you for your birthday??? Hope you had a great birthday weekend!

Jacque & Laura-what are you two ladies up to today???

Hey girlies...

sorry did not make it to post this weekend .. me and SIL worked out SAT to what felt like the entire morning.. we did BodyMax 2 .. the entire workout .. 90 minuts .. and every oz of it :confused: .. I was SPENT afterwards .. but we did it .. and then the rest of the day was devoted to cleanmax and packingmax .. we had HORRIBLE storms all weekend .. Sunday was more cleanmax and doggie bathmax .. didnt get a w/o in b/c had too much to do .. SIL had back to school shopping to do while GA was under tax free for school supplies .. oh well . .

Today I am out of town again in another office .. the bosses wife is sick .. and we are all short handed .. so SIL is gonna sub for me tonight ..I brought my stuff to workout at lunch . but I have a HORRIBLE crick .. runs from my ear down under my right shoulder blade to my back . I can not even turn to the right .. it is HORRIBLE ... so gonna skip the much needed last chance w/o today :mad: and I am NOT happy about it .. but just dont see too much of what I can do .. ??? tmrw plan on lunch w/o .. then hauling arse back to town to teach class .. plyo class .. that'll do it ;)

Wendy ... so you DID get Insanity .. you go girl .. watch those knees!!! (shaking finger at Wendy) ... do let us know how INSANE it is :eek:

Jen .. good job getting the run(s) in (err that didnt sound right .. YOUR JOGGING in ) :eek: AND managing to make the b-day parties!!!

OK .. gotta run .. it is the THIRD and this little office has been pounded today .. WOW ... :eek:... I am going home and try to pack somemore .. workout for me please my wonderfully fit cyber pals .. Hi girls ! Guess I'm bringing up the rear here today . . . :rolleyes:

Yesterday turned out to be a "funk" day for me. Never did a darn thing (well was on the computer checking out what the results of my blood work meant and helping DS1 with tax info). Then read for a bit. No workout to report.

So, since y'all are mentioning BM I think I'll do the original today a, a circuit on Wed and then BM2 on Friday (at least that is the plan as of today ! ;)). I am thinking the peri-meno is hitting again as I am feeling like I did the beginning of the year. :( Have an appt on Wed to check out the innerds and ask some questions. Don't want it to last as long as the last time - that's for sure !

Wendy - sorry about the leg tightness - when you say hamstring and pulling your leg up behind you is that for a quad stretch? I've never had mine that tight before . . . :confused: Lots of warmth to bring the blood to the area and help it heal - perhaps some gentle stretching after warming it? Hope it heals quickly for you. ITA that some good dads get the shaft - I wasn't allowed to move farther than 1/2 an hour away, but we went through the court system. Didya figure out when Joey starts school? :p

Jen - you sure did have a busy weekend ! Did sis want BIL to have "his own" birthday this year - was it a special year? Were there others besides family invited? At least you got your running in. Feeling better after work for a workout or was today a rest day?

Diana - well good job getting up early - at least you got around to your workout. I always change my clothes when I first get home so it helps "force" me to workout, but, occasionally I end up scrapping it. :eek: I guess no rec center helped too ? Well a little "cheat" here and there is no biggie. I think your loss is great - no need to go too quickly or restrict to the point of falling off the wagon, you know? I commend DS for doing the best he can and hope things turn around for him. Somehow it will all work out . . .

Laura - Good job being productive this weekend. I guess I let you do that for me - I'll try hard to workout well for you this week ! ;) :p Sorry about the crick in your neck ! Man I hate those. Always takes me a few days to get rid of them - try laying on a heating pad when you have a chance - will help it go away quicker. Sounds like tomorrow will be kick a$$ on workouts - that should take care of you for a while. When are you leaving for the Keys?

Hey Lori - guess I missed your birthday post? :eek: Hope it was a good one ! How's the running going lately - weather cooperating a bit better?

OK - better hop off here and get working on BM.
