Damage Control-May!!!

Hi all,

Yesterday I did X Trains Hard Strikes. It was what I felt like doing, so I'm just going with that. Today we're planning a bike ride since I'm off and it's not raining-yet. It's getting pretty humid here. My hair is so puffed out from it.

Diana, there are lots of whole30 recipes out there. As I recall your DH likes his steak-so that would be totally ok on whole30. I forgot about Father's day in June-but if you can do it for 30, so can I! My ultimate goal is to get off all processed food. The coconut milk I've been using-So Delicious-is approved. But I don't like it. I'm going to investigate some almond milk next time I go shopping. How was your massage? I can see why you'd want to do Meso 2 again. They are shorter workouts and really get the muscles fired up and building!

LL, how is Bootcamp going this week?

Hi, Tina!

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did GS C&T! Finally getting back to the weights!! Well, not surprising, I had to lower my weight. I normally use 30's for flat bench work and 25 for incline work. Today I had to use 25 for flat bench, and 20 for incline. Meso 3 is 6-8 reps so it's not surprising I had to lower the weight with the time off and going back to more reps. I will be sufficiently sore tomorrow I'm sure.

My little girls are coming for the summer. I'm going to get them on June 22nd!

Beth-sounds like you have a good plan. Exercise in general is good for you, and it should be enjoyable so you stick with it. Do what works for you! LOL, I have the same issue with my naturally curly hair. I straightened it today, not sure why since it's supposed rain the next 3 to 4 days. My neck is feeling much better from my massage, but the rest of my back is a bit sore. I finally lowered my desk yesterday morning and that will make a big difference.

Waving hi to LL and Tina.

Hi Ladies,

Looks like everyone must be busy for the long weekend. We don't have any plans. I normally run a 10K on memorial day but I never signed up. It seems a little strange not to be doing it. My knee was actually feel good enough that I was considering giving running a try....that was until I stepped off a curb and it's been a little tender.

Yesterday I did GS BSB to the best of my ability. My back has been bothering me a bit, pretty much since I got home from England. Today will be BR w/o.

bbl later to see what everyone else is up to.

Hi all,

Diana, I'm working the weekend. We have a small family picnic planned for Monday. Yesterday was rest day and today I did PUB to the best of my ability! I feel fairly good now and more energized than I do when I lift really heavy. Putting on more muscle might not be my goal anymore. Have you thought about menus for whole30? It starts Wed.! I have decided to keep it pretty basic: Breakfast-eggs with roasted potatoes or fruit and nut butter. Lunch: Granny Smith apple and either leftovers or just veggies. Dinner: Big Salad and a protein-oil and vinegar dressing. Snacks: nuts and coconut chips. Beverages: coffee, teas, water. I like making the chili, fish cakes, spaghetti squash, and roasted potatoes. I did not like the curry sauce at all, but did like the ketchup. We've stocked up on salmon fillets, chicken breasts, and ground turkey. I think I'm ready! I wonder what you did to your back? I hope it's nothing too serious. Awesome news about the girls coming to visit!!!!

Tina, have you read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks? I picked it at the library the other night and can not put it down!

LL, hope things are well in your busy world!

Hi Ladies,

My back is still sore and I still do not know how this happened. It's my mid-back, 2" below the bra strap and just the lats. Today I did Drill Max and felt pretty good. Legs is really on the agenda, but it hurts my back to lift a barbell. I may do HCLB, or CLB tomorrow instead of GS Legs

Yesterday was a rest day. DH and I discussed the new house and have decided against it at this time. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I was so upset I actually cried. Mostly because he let me get my hopes up by agreeing to move and to go select the lot etc when I got back from my business trip. DH is unhappy at work and is looking for another position within the state government. If we don't build in a particular area, he can look for jobs anywhere in Colorado. If we are not moving, I want to take out a home equity loan and do what I want/need to the house: new kitchen, hardwood floors, new carpet in bedrooms, finish the basement and fix the backyard landscaping. We've been here for 18 years and there is a lot to be done. We've already budgeted for painting the interior. We also put the down-payment on the master shower...which I don't really want to spend the money on.

DS1 is moving back in for the summer. It will work out nice with the girls here. Plus, he is great about helping me out with chores. I already told him I want the gates fixed, garage cleaned out, and help in the basement.

We have a family dinner planned at Texas Road House for my Mother's day dinner tonight. We also invited MIL. It should be a nice time.

Beth-I've reviewed a few recipes and am going shopping today. I've already purchased salmon and tilapia. I'm hoping I can find some sausage-to make the Scotch Eggs, they sound great. Many of my cleanse recipes are whole 30 so I will use some of those for the roasted veggies, veggie soup, etc. Enjoy your family picnic!

Waving Hi to LL and Tina!!
