Damage Control June :)

Hi Ladies,

Another BR w/o down, only a few more to go. It's pretty quiet this week around the house since the girls are at DS's apartment. I'm trying to get caught up on laundry, mail, bills etc.

Thanks for the kind words ladies.:) My weight had gotten out of control and it was time to buckle down and get serious. I still have a ways to go, but honestly look and feel so much better already. No matter my size, clothes just do not fit the lower half ever. Never have, probably never will...I hate clothes shopping!

Laura-glad you were able to squeeze in another vacation day! Yes the commute is on a busy highway and there really isn't any other way to get there that would be any shorter. Regardless, I'm sure the fat paycheck will offset the commute!

Tina-so sorry for your loss. {{HUGS}} Nice job with Meso 1! I haven't been on my bike since the tri-ugh. So many w/o's, so little time. Not sure how I will manage my w/o's when I start the new job. It's either get up at 4am (not sure that's possible), or do it after work.

LL-glad the 21 day fix is working for you! I'm a fellow chocoholic and try to stick to a few pieces (individually wrapped) of dark chocolate after dinner.

Wendy-what are you up to missy?

Good Morning Ladies. Happy armpit of the week!:p

Sorry I went MIA. Haven't been overly busy. Just too lazy to check in.

I've been doing my work outs...15 mins of heavy weight circuits and 1 segment of TA PT plus conditioning on the days that I don't have Karate class.

Di:: Doing the happy dance for you and your awesome WW success! You rock! :D

Laura:: Glad you had a good and not so relaxing fishing trip/vacation!:p

Tina:: Thanks re my test. So sorry to hear about your Aunt. Enjoy your active recovery from STS.

LL:: Sounds like you are doing well on the 21 Day Fix plan. Keep up the good work!

Hi all!
Summer is in full swing! JTrain has been at church all week at Wayne Service Week helping out in the community. He will be back tomorrow night for a title over a week then he and B will stay at my mom's for a week for Construction camp at church, be home for the weekend and then JTrain will be in North Philly for a missions trip and B will be at Ambassador Soccer Camp at church. So I will be down 2 kids for 2 weeks!

I got back in the swing with my workouts this week. Today we all went for a 30 min bike ride on the hills of our neighborhood, I felt harder than Map My Bike told it was: 267kcal burned. What is kcal anyway?? Yesterday I walked with a longtime friend for an hour and a half or so while the kids played on the playground climbing ropes or down in the creek. Yesterday afternoon I got it PUB. Chest flies and full sit ups still hurt my side. I was able to do all the wts at her wt but couldn't do the ball sit ups at all but I could do the leaning back an twists with the ball without any pain. Monday I did PRS2 31 min. I may have mentioned that already...

Poochy, fit mommy and rmrmr, I am not doing 21 day fix officially, I have never bought it. I am following the food container plan for the second lowest calorie level. I am trying to match up Cathe workouts that burn 400 cal or more to 21 day fix. So Monday was cardio, I did step, yesterday was upper body I did PUB (and walked), today is Pilates or abs, I'm hoping to get to Turbo barre. I think tomorrow is lower body fix and Friday cardio or I may have that switched. I'm not sure what I'll do for lower body yet. I think I put 3 choices into wo manager and will decide the night before or day of. :). Saturday is "dirty 30" I will likely do x10, TTM or CF. I'm not really sure what "dirty 30) is except that it has some wts with the cardio.

I hope to get in turbo barre before my WW meeting tonight, hoping for a loss!

Hi to all that follow!

WED

MAN .. having another STRESSSED OUT DAY .. %#!$!%#$%!$$%$% :(:(:(:(:(:( I went to CC at lunch .. did my version of Z-butt challenge: 2 Rounds of: 10 curtsey lunges w/knee up (each side) // 20 weighted (20#) hip lifts on high bench // roundhouse kick w/back lunge w/20# weights // 40 deep weighted (20#) squats -- I was a sweatball and my legs shook for 2 hours afterwards! it helped relieve some stress .. but I would need a lot more than that to calm me down :( .. tonight I am planning on doing Z-gym tabata challege #1 - short but looks tuff!

Di - yes extra money makes up for trouble of commuting .. heck ya!

Wendy - great workout schedule - love the clips you have been putting on FB!!!

LL -sometimes I think the measurement of calories burned is way off from the machines used to measure it ... and I think everyone is different .. and burns calories differently .. depending on stamina - effort - muscle mass etc ...

OK .. it is almost a bit better than an hour to go ... I am in bad need of some DOWN time .. crap! have a great one!

pouchy your workout sounded really intense. Sorry you've had a stressful day, I bet the workout helped!

I've been procrastinating going to do Tubor Barre. At this rate I'll be lucky if I get in 30 min! I'm aiming for the premix 1 lower body express but it's 51 min!

Hi Ladies,

Another BR down this morning. I think there are 3 left to go to finish up this 30 day challenge. It's time to sit down and schedule my HM training (1 in Sept, 1 in Aug) and my tri training (August). I do so much better when i have a written plan...on a calendar etc. That's at the top of my list for this weekend.

I missed the last 2 weeks of WW but weighed in today. I'm up 1.4#'s but am not upset about it at all. I haven't tracked in weeks and I was on vacation. I had them change my goal since I'm sick of paying $45/month for over a year now. Once I get within 2#'s of the higher goal, my meetings will be free. My real goal is still about 8lbs, and I know I will get there! Tracking started again today too.

LL-yay for being down 2 kids for 2 weeks!!! I looked at the site you sent, very good for kids to help out in their communities. My kids all had to do community service in HS. Good luck at your weigh in. A kcal is a calorie. Enjoy the "Dirty 30"! Love the name, my preference is TTM!

Laura-sorry about the stress in your life. Is there something you can do to eliminate it? It's been going on for a long time. My legs would be fried too....awesome w/o!

Wendy-sounds like you are keeping busy with your jobs and you own w/o's as well.

So proud of our long lost Ms. Lori-she is rockin' it for sure. Wishing her the best of luck in the competition.

Finished up Meso 1 yesterday. Today will either be a rest day, or if the weather holds, I might try for a bike ride tonight. Tomorrow will be Peak 10 Cardio Strength Remix. I'm with you Diana, I do much better with a firm workout schedule. I'm going to figure out something solid for next week.

Where are you seeing Lori's updates from? I was wondering how her competition was going.

Have a nice weekend!! : )

Hi Ladies. :)

So myself and my boss are getting great feedback on the classes I am teaching at the new studio!!! This makes me very happy because I'd like more work from this guy and now if it's available, I should get it b/c he knows his clients are happy! WOOT! :D

Today is day 3 of the taxi service I have been running this week. Spending a lot of time in the car. My MIL is staying with us for a while and she doesn't drive. She wanted to see her DGD graduate so I offered to drive her up to SIL's house on Wed afternoon. Y'day I dropped off and picked up my son from a Football Camp he attended and today we get back in the car to pick my MIL up and bring her back down here. My SIL is 45 mins away with out traffic (which is rare ) and the football camp is about the same....Fun times! NOT!:p

If I am going to get in a work out today it has to be early due to the above taxi service I must provide. I have a client to train at the gym at 10:30 and then I will go up to get MIL. I want to get back down here before the mad Friday afternoon summer rush to the beach begins!!!! Then I have a nail appointment. By the time that's done I will NOT have the motivation to work out as it will be getting close to Friday night cocktail time! ;) (Hey, atleast I'm honest right? LOL)

Tina:: Lori is updating us privately regarding her competition b/c she is including pics of her progress that she doesn't want to post publicly. Great job finishing up Meso 1! I completed a 6 month STS rotation a while back. (I got great results once I got my eating under control!) Then I sold it. :p I subscribe to Cathe's on demand now though so I will probably use STS again one day...

Di:: Wow, that's a lot of cash you are dishing out to WW! The results are worth it no doubt but ITA that if you can get the meetings for free with a simple goal adjust then do it! :D Glad you aren't upset about your last weigh in. Vacation weight gain is a fluke. Get back on the wagon and that weight will be gone in no time! :)

Laura:: Nice butt work out! I love a good butt burn! It's a goal of mine for my clients! If they tell me they have a sore ass then I know I did my job correctly! ;) LOL

LL:: Even better to mimic 21 Day Fix so you don't have to spend the $$ on it! Good for you! Keep up the great work!:)

TGIF!!!!!

BBL!

Hi Ladies,

Evening check in for me, while I enjoy a glass of red wine! Today was BR day 26, only 2 more days of the challenge to go. I'm definitely sore from Crossfit yesterday, my quads and glutes were certainly worked yesterday!

Tomorrow is an open water swim and 13 mile bike ride. I'm training with a gal from my tri-training class that I run into at many races/events. My normal training partner tore her hamstring, complete tear and is out for 6 mos. I'm almost kind of glad as she has been riddled with injuries the past 3 years. She doesn't listen to her body or ever stop when she should. I'm hoping this will give her other injuries time to heal too.

I lucked out on renting a wetsuit for tomorrow. I tried on 3 wetsuits tonight, which isn't really that easy...one fit and was available to rent for tomorrow. I also stopped to get some new running shoes, they only had 1pr left of the shoe I wanted....and it was in my size! :D

Wendy-that is great news! Glad you have found your calling!!! Taxi taxi, family does what is necessary, good for you for helping out MIL. It's never easy, but sometimes necessary.

Tina-Did you come up with a plan for your STS rest week? I've printed out my running schedule for the Sept & October HM's, but will need to incorporate tri-training into it. They really only overlap for a short time, since the tri is in Aug., then I focus just on running after that.

Hi Laura, LL & Lori.

bbl

rmrmr- your training sounds tough! 13 miles!! wow!

I have been biking with my kiddos the last few mornings, but not today. Yesterday I only got in 15 min of the LUB, the ball section only. Today I only got in the fitness tabatta from TTM. I miss that workout! I need to try to do the whole thing again sometime.

I lost 1.2 at my WW meeting!!

Tomorrow will be tough. I'm going to NJ for my nephew's bday. I will be bringing my own food for lunch: grilled chicken breast over a salad maybe with brown rice, some fruit, almonds and a rice cake probably. That way I can really count my points and just have the cake, not burgers for a million points. I will be gone from 10-6 at min.

Gotta go, Little K just woke up crying!

So I forgot to ask...who has subscribed to Cathe OnDemand and Cathe Live? How are you connected and do you love it? Are there issues with not connecting?

I'm DYING to get it, but our TVs are older and all my wo stuff is in the basement. I did talk to someone at Apple and she told me I could by a $40 cable to connect my iPad 1 to the TV.

I'm also very tempted to get Beach Body's PiYo. Does anyone know about this? I wish they had samples of the videos like Cathe does. I'm so tempted. But I fear I will be bored or something. I've read on another Cathe forum that the 21 day fix workouts are too easy for seasoned Cathe exercisers. But I don't have any workouts like these PiYo ones, at least I don't think I do, because I only have LIS which has Turbo Barre and the 2 yoga workouts. I have to 2 Giam pilates workouts: Cardio Pilates and AM/PM pilates. All are seriously easy. I never use them anymore.

Anyone into BB workouts, particularly these?

I forgot something else I've been thinking about when/if I go with Cathe OnDemand. What I'd really like to see is Cathe have a link in her shop section that would be for metabolic/Hiit/Tabata (if they are indeed the same thing) link to send us there. And then have a heavy wt section and a light wt section (like high reps would go in there and maybe super cuts and TTM and CF.) I would also really like to be able to search that way on Cathe OnDemand, if I get it. And be able to search by workout type and length. Meaning let's say I wanted to do a workout that was 30 min long and HiiT, or I only had time for 40 min of upper body but light weights. Something like that.

For those of you who have it, are there fancy search capabilities on there and are the premixes on there yet?

I'm really thinking about the next set of DVDs she's putting out and am so excited!! But I wonder if it more like wts of XTrain, which I love and then Hiit and tabata? Or should I go with the PiYo? Both are $60 (if I go with the base kit with PiYo), but I can get Ripped with OnDemand among a ton of other stuff, but it's $20/yr for life! Kinda like cable and we got rid of cable! Now we just have Hulu+ and Netflix.

Hi Ladies,

Today I did a half mile open water swim and 12.5 mile bike ride. For the swim, I did 1 loop (1/4 mile) and rested about 4 minutes and then another 1/4 mile loop. I'm beat. Next time I either need to do 3 loops with rests in between, or 2 loops with no rest. I'm still working my way up to that.

LL-Way to go on the weightloss!!! Keep up the good work. Awesome job planning and bringing your own food to the baby shower. I'm a huge BB fan, I have Insanity, Asylum, Combat, CLX, Turbo Fire, P90X, P90X+, P90x2 and X3. I don't have PiYo but think you can see reviews and some of the w/o's on youtube. Wendy (fitmommy) is the one with Cathe On Demand, she can probably answer your questions. I have a tablet and a cable that allows me to connect my tablet (or my phone) to my TV in the basement and I can use my Cathe Downloads that way. I mostly use the downloads at the rec ctr, as I have all the Cathe DVD's. The downloads don't have premixes or TOC either, I can't speak to Cathe On Demand. I preordered Cathe's newest workouts and am thinking that will be my go to series. I love GS, Xtrain, and STS too.

Off to return the wetsuit, pedicure, mow lawn, laundry, bills...definitely need to take a look at our bills. I've been on autopilot since we got back from vacation.

Hey Ladies.

I did a short circuit of mostly core work today for my work out today. That's it. I've been slackin' the past few days. Gotta get back on track ASAP!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Today was....TA Perfect Design Level 1 work out (all but arms - COULD.NOT.FOLLOW.!!!!), 10@30/30 of heavy one arm swings, 10@30/30 of Standing Band Glute Kick Backs on Right, 10@30/30 of bodyweight lunges right to jumping lunges to bodyweight lunges left to jumping lunges, so on and so forth, and last but not least 10@30/30 of Standing Band Glute Kick Backs on the Left. MY.LEGS.ARE.FRIED.!!!!!!!

We've had incredible weather this week. After today, I have 595 miles in for June riding. I wasn't going to ride tomorrow, but I'm going to go out for a quick sprint in the morning to make it to over 600 miles. I still haven't made a workout schedule for this week yet. With the holiday on Friday, I may just wing it.

Diana, nice job on your training. I can't imagine swimming that far! When is the Cathe roadtrip?

I'll be back tomorrow for check in. :)

Hello all!

I got in a great workout today! I was super tired and didn't want to but made myself go to the basement and just do it! I thought, I'll go for something in LIS (but not AB) thinking it wouldn't be so rough. I chose Athletic Training and wow! That really kicked my rear! literally! I think I'm going to be really sore tomorrow!

I feel like my shoulders look great and my arms in general are very good, I even had some guy told me in the library last week say, "look at those guns!" and asked me what I did, I told him about Cathe and her heavy wts and how I lift my 3yo a lot too! But unfortunately that's where it ends on how happy I am. My back bunches around my bra, tummy is terrible (4 kids, can we talk??) and butt and legs are not great at all! So I think I've been neglecting them. I love to work out my arms because I think I see results faster and I enjoy it. So I put the effort in to doing a whole upper body workout. But when it comes to legs, I'll do a premix here and there of a good leg workout. I do cardio, but I wonder if I did more leg work with wts, like in CLB or LUB (which I've never done) or even all of MM (which I'm really not a fan of anymore) or STS Total Body. I'm going to see if there is a leg rotation, but I find that I think I do better following a generic rotation for 1 week and then putting in my own workouts that interested me at the moment I'm going to workout. Know what I mean? I may put in a week's worth of workouts, but many days will have 2-4 options depending on my mood...

I know eating is a big part of it. And I do well in the beginning of the week, until my weigh in and then I splurge that night, do OK on Thurs, but the weekend is typically bad...I did bring my own food to the bday party yesterday so I didn't eat any pizza or chips or soda and when I had finished my salad with chicken, I took my 3yo for a walk down to the pond. AWAY FROM THE FOOD! But then the cake came out and I had 3 med. pieces!! And the pizza came home with us so I ended up eating 2 pieces anyway and it wasn't even that good! And then I did make a good choice not to dig into the peanut M&M bag with Hubby but then went and made hot fudge sauce for ice cream....tomorrow will be a better day!

Today's work out was TA Perfect Design Series Level 2 Lower Body and Ab work. The waist and arm work is too confusing in this series for me to follow. Then I did 3@15/30 of each of the following upper body exercises with my blue Cathe band - Back rows, Bicep curls, Push ups (no band), Side shoulder raises. I was burnin' all over when I was done with this work out! ;)

Went out for a quick ride this morning and then STS abs and stretch. Tomorrow will be MM. Our weather is going to be scorching this week, so no evening rides for me for the rest of the week.

LL, congrats on your WW weigh in. Sounds like you're doing everything right. :)

Hi to everyone else. :)

Hi everyone!

I had a much better day today.

Ok here's what I ate:
Late breakfast: few cherries and a slice of WW bread with 2 t peanut butter and sliced banana
Noon lunch: strawberry banana ground flax seed smoothie and warmed up burger with american cheese, that Little K ate some of
Snack: watermelon
Dinner: 7 oz taco meat (homemade seasoning) with salsa and 1 oz cheddar
Snack: 4 squares of dark chocolate

Looking at my food today, it is so lacking in veggies! According to the 21 day fix, I should have had 4 more cups of veggies, 1 more 3/4 cup protein, 2t olive or pb and 2T almonds or seeds.

Workout: AOLIH, 22 min before dinner, rest after kids went to bed.

Workout plan for rest of week:
Tuesday: Burn sets: premix upper body, 78 min! I've never done this but I do love burn sets!
Wednesday: CLB or B&G
Thursday: Legs
Friday: party rockin step #1
Saturday: super cuts with core or LIS: super sets or Crossfire or X54 (step, low impact, fat burning)

I may switch up Thursday and Friday depending on how I feel, but I don't think I'll have time for all of Legs on the Fourth, plus I wanted something fun on the Fourth!
