Damage Control February

I hope you all had a great weekend! :) Friday was FT, Saturday was a rest day and Sunday was a 39 mile ride. This morning DH and I did XT BS c/b/s and abs. DS and I are about to do MM biceps. Depending on if DH gets picked for jury duty today, we may get another bike ride in this afternoon. Last week he was picked, but he knew many of the witnesses from a local bank robbery, so he was excused. This is his last required Monday to appear for selection.

Diana, are you still in England or did you come home on Friday? Seems like you've been there forever!

Beth, The Goldfinch is one of my all time favorite books. Hobie is one of my all time favorite characters.

Hi to LL.

Today the weather is so nice, I have the windows opened!! :)

I know what you mean about the nice weather, Tina-I hung my wash outside this morning! Hobie is a great character. I'm at the point where Boris has just told him the secret and they are processing this. I found it hard to put down yesterday. I had my annual physical today and all is good! BP was 105/70! Just goes to show what exercising consistently and eating healthy (most of the time) can do for you body: Damage Control for sure! Thanks for starting the thread. I'm off to do Hard Strikes today.

Beth

Hi Ladies,

Another trip to the gym this morning for 45 minutes on the elliptical and some ab work.

Tina-I was scheduled to fly home tomorrow (Tuesday). The client requested we stay a few more days, now I fly home on Friday. You amaze me with all your w/o's! I am so tired of the cold and windy weather. It's nice being able to walk everywhere though and getting in my 10K steps! I feel like I've been here forever too! I'm ready to go home.

Beth-I'm so jealous, I used to love hanging my clothes outside. I don't have clothesline....but sometimes I put clothes on hangers and hang them on our gazebo when it doesn't have the curtains/covering on it.

Hi LL!

I remembered!!!

Sunday I tried to do yogamax but only got in half with multiple interruptions. I really needed the stretch and mental break.

Yesterday was AOLIH with core 1. This morning was ICE CUB but premix 5 gone to a nice 33 min workout. I'm still sore from Burn Sets upper body on Saturday and I think I may have done something to my shoulder shoveling in the blizzard. It's not quite right.

Tina- is FT Flex Train? I don't have that one. I got the impression that it was similar to Super Cuts, maybe easier. You alway amaze me with your workouts and how your husband does them with you!!! So cool!!

Beth-great job with your physical!!

Diana- do you miss the Cathe workouts? Or are just happy to be in another country for a while? Although I bet you are looking forward somewhat to getting home.

Hi all,

I did Hard Strikes yesterday...LL it has the back to back rounds of sit ups and push ups-always such a fun way to end the workout! Good to hear you're getting your workouts in. Are you still doing a rotation? For me, the next workout for today is ICE bootcamp. I will probably try to add on the blizzard.

Diana, your bed will feel so good when you get home! Nice job getting all the steps in-walking is such a good workout! Nice to have a gym as well. DH continues going just about every day to the one we joined. He's been walking a little bit in hopes of us being able to walk more together. As far as retirement goes...we definitely are enjoying it. I don't have to clean as much, or cook either. We've taken to doing a crossword every night from a book he was given and didn't use when he had his back surgery. It's hard for me having the responsibility of benefits for all of us. I think that's part of my headaches lately. But I will soldier on and do the best I can. I am finding it necessary to go to bed by 8 each night and be asleep by 9 to feel ok. So that is hard. He stays up much later.

Tina, glad you got a bike ride in and that the weather cooperated! Burn sets on my rotation next week. This week looks like circuits. I'm really enjoying this rotation-it's not too hard or long and I can add to the workouts if I feel like it and have the time.

Beth

Hi Ladies,

It's Wednesday already??? We are very busy but I'm so glad we are staying these extra few days, it's is quite beneficial. Tuesday morning was 30 minutes on the elliptical and a 20 min circuit. This morning was 45 min on the elliptical. I'm sure we'll hit the gym tomorrow morning too, but Friday will be a very long day of traveling.

LL-great job keeping up with your w/o's! Yes, I definitely miss my Cathe and BR w/o's. I'm looking forward to weights. Before, I was really looking forward to being done with STS....now I'm craving weight training again. Sorry to hear about your shoulder. That is how I injured my shoulder several years ago and it took more than a year to get back to normal. I still have to be very careful with pushups, chest press and fly, and dips as to not re-injure it.

Beth-I'm so looking forward to coming home. We are working 10-11 hours everyday so it's been tough. I'm also very nervous about being solely responsible for our benefits too. I currently get a discount on my health insurance for being a non tobacco user. Not only with my cost go up to carry my DH, I will lose that discount as he chews tobacco. He is also type 2 diabetic and takes medication for that and gout. He has all these prescriptions and I'm not looking forward to bearing the cost responsibility alone.

Waving Hi to Tina!!!

Good morning Ladies! :) Today will be a cardio (maybe CF) in the a.m. and XT BS b&t in the evening with DH. I think DS and I will do MM triceps today. Yesterday was XT CLB premix of just the weight work and BC legs only premix. We did manage an afternoon bike ride on Monday, so I was really tired yesterday. Doesn't help that insomnia has kicked in for the last three days. Even reading isn't putting me to sleep. I think my hormones are really out of whack, hot flashes one month, back to a cycle the next month. I don't know which is worse. Men have it so easy!

Diana, you must be getting home sick by now. Those are some long work days you're putting in! Sounds like you're keeping up with your workouts really well. Has the weather gotten any better? My uncle in Ireland said the weather there has been miserable, rain for the last six weeks. I hope the sun is shining for you. DH and I are going to do a few more weeks of GS and XT and then restart STS again, we're starting to miss it.

Beth, I can't wait for DH to retire. Having him home for the last few weeks was so nice, I could really get used to it! I don't know how you get it all in with your work schedule! Are you still enjoying ICE? I'm really liking the MM's, it's the perfect workout for DS and I in the morning. DH and I are usually in bed by 8:30 on weekdays too. :)

LL, FT is Flex Train. It is similar to SC, but I don't think it's any easier. I like the abs at the end of FT. How is your DH feeling? I need to have DS 's wisdom teeth removed soon, but our old dog needs her teeth done first. There goes the bank account.

Hi Ladies,

Made it to the gym this morning for 40 minutes on the elliptical and some leg work using the stability ball. I enjoyed tandoori chicken tikka and 2 glasses of wine last night. Yep, I slept great! I've been getting in my steps everyday, but tomorrow I will be traveling for over 14 hours. I don't anticipate getting in my steps.

Tina-I don't know how you fit in all those w/o's everyday. It is so awesome that your DH works out with you and now your DS is getting in on the action! I'm looking forward to lifting some weights and plan on doing the GS series and XTrain too. I love the Burn Sets, especially bi's and tri's.

Hi LL and Beth.

I forgot to favorite this thread!

Ok so Yesterday was a rest day and this morning I did Hard Strikes. Beth, can you do all those push-up/sit up combos? For 6 sets a on your toes?? I could only do 4 in the allotted time and I only did the first set on my toes. If I had more time I probably could finish. But I just couldn't keep up her pace. I am not following a rotation, I'm creating my own XTrain/ICE rotation. And tomorrow is ICE Bootcamp! Saturday will be XTrain CLB and core. Over the next two weeks I'll be doing Blizzards with a MM and XTrain HiiT with a burn sets body part. That is unless I feel the need for step...

Diana, I forget what is BR I, sure you've told us. I can't imagine 10-11 hr days, but sometimes I feel like I am doling that as a homeschooler and as a mom combined...

Tina, sorry you haven't been sleeping! I hope you get some rest soon! Hubby is ever so slowly getting better. Still eating soup and eggs as his main food.

So at my WW meeting last night I gained 2.2 [emoji26]. I wasn't tracking at all. This week I'm going to try to track every day.

I'm thinking about trying this out:

http://legiontransform.com

We have one 20 min from me, West Chester and its free and a personal plan is included. A friend liked it on FB so I'm trying to connect with her before I send my email, I'm afraid it's a scam.

Also what is cross fit? I hear a lot about that. Is it basically HiiT and metabolic training? Like Tabatacise, SC, etc

Hi all,

I'm still doing the rotation! Tuesday was CLB-always so much fun! Wed.'s workout was CUB with abs-along with work around the house stuff like vacuuming-so my legs got some rest! This rotation is going so well, that I may do the RWH/ICE rotation next.

Diana, have a good trip back! The weights are waiting for you!

Tina, sounds like you're getting lots of fantastic weight work in with your family! I wish I could get DS1 to do something. I know what you mean about sleeping-I talked to my doctor about it Monday at my appt. and he said the hormones are adjusting and create havoc.

LL, I actually pause my dvd and do about 4 sets of the sit/up, push up combo then turn Cathe back on and do as many as I can while she does all her sets-I am much slower in turning over for reason. By the end I'm on my knees! It sounds like your schedule is a lot like the "official" Xtrain/Ice rotation. I'm starting to miss the muscle meltdowns...

Beth

I think I'll be skipping core tomorrow because there was some core yesterday and today. I just finished ICE Boot Camp. That was tough in some places. I only have the old Firm box so it goes to 14" for raised and 6" for regular. Those one arm burpees are so much more doable on the high step! And I always like standing abs. I'm looking forward to and a bit dreading XTrain CLB tomorrow!

Beth- maybe I should try the official rotation. But I do want to try the BB and MM next week.

Have a safe trip home Diana!!

Hi Tina!

Cardio Leg Blast this morning premix with rounds 1-6 33 min. I probably could have done the full 56 min wo time wise but I just didn't want to! And it was tough!

Hi Ladies,

I made it back home. It was a very long day for sure. DH picked me up at the airport and I was in bed and asleep by 8:30pm Friday night. Of course, I was up at 4am on Saturday and today.

Yesterday I did GS BSB. My intention was also to do a cardio w/o but I just didn't have it in me. Today will be GS Legs, Coremax 3, and a cardio to be determined. Considering starting the BR 30 day challenge over again. I normally lift 20's on the overhead presses but had to stick to 15's. Of course, my biceps are my weakest link and I can only use 15's on the concentration curls and 12's on the bonus-up halfway and hold, all the way up, and down 3. I did use 10's for the partial reps. I still haven't done any of the Blizzard Blasts or Muscle Meltdowns. I don't think my knee can handle the BB's yet, but I may give the MM's a try.

I'm starting the 21 day cleanse tomorrow. I'm shopping and food prepping today. It's a lot of work, but I'm for it. They have a closed FB group and the Live cleanse starts tomorrow. I'm pretty excited about it. I went to buy a Vitamix yesterday and BB&B didn't carry the one I wanted. Then I went to Costco, and they didn't have the one I wanted. Looks like I'll be ordering it online and have to stick with my nutribullet for another week.

LL-great job with your w/o's. Any plan will work for your weight goal, you just have to work the plan. Choose something that you can stick with, and the plan will work.

Beth-CLB is super fun IMO. I'm going to stick with GS for probably a couple of weeks and then move to Xtrain and do a combo of both. How are the MM's. Are they tough enough to do one body part per day? I really need to focus on my biceps and lifting the back side.

Tina-what are you up to? Have you found anything to help you sleep? I know you said melatonin doesn't work for you. One of my girlfriends uses something else..I'll try to find the name of it. All I recall is it is a very long name, and natural I believe.

Thursday was ICE CLB and BS triceps in the a.m. and STS M1D3 legs in the p.m. My lower body was so sore all day Friday! Friday was ICE MT (I LOVE this workout!!) and XT BS chest with DS. Saturday was a three mile snowshoe through our local park and Sunday was LIHI CST. I am starting to notice a real change in my arm definition. I think all the extra lifting w/ DS is paying off. I'm back to sleeping okay and the hot flashes are back with a vengeance. I'm not sure what to do this morning. I keep reaching for the ICE workouts because of the fun factor. DH and I will be spinning tonight.

Diana, welcome home!! I hope your jet lag isn't too horrible. Must be nice to be back in your own bed. :) I think you're going to love the MM's. I think the bicep and shoulder routines are my favorite. Good luck with your cleanse challenge!

Beth, how is your shoulder doing? Did you finish The Goldfinch yet?

Hi to LL. :)

Hi all,

Bronco's won! Are you a fan, Diana? Glad you made it home safely and are back to some weight workouts! You started your cleanse today and I've started tracking again. I'm up a couple of pounds.

Tina, I'm on chapter 11 of The Goldfinch. My group meets next Monday night, so I have a week to finish. I worked two 12's this past weekend so got no reading or workouts in. I'm picking up today with LIS cardio 1 and 2 and bb and abs to get back in the swing! I missed MTB which I love, but will have to wait for it to show up again in the rotation. I decided to do the Ice level 2 next rotation since that incorporates MM. I agree, Ice is so fun! It's no wonder your arms are rockin with all the upper body you do!

LL, what are you doing this week?

Beth

Little K is 5 today!! We have a regular school Monday: all at home and no online classes except for taking Little K to speech therapy this afternoon. Tonight we will celebrate just the 6 of us with shrimp and linguini and an iced brownie. He will have a making pizza party at the end of the month with up to 6 friends. The rest of the week is just normal school and evening activities tomorrow and Wednesday. We actually don't have any sports this week (except CDawg's basketball practice which he won't be going to).

I'm planning on doing all the Blizzard Blasts with Muscle Meltdowns mixed with a cardio and a Burn Set from XTrain over the next 2 weeks. I ate way too much over the weekend: pizza on Friday, surprise party Saturday (adults only!) and then we had friends over for the super bowl last night and I ate like a pig. I gained 5 pounds this weekend! I will be working on only protein, fruit, veggies, and whole grains this week. No large desserts, just portioned dark chocolate and lots of water!! Hopefully I'll be able to say no the the iced brownie tonight! But I was so tired I didn't get my wo in this morning. I hope to tonight.

Although, I've had 3 different people tell me I look good, lean or that I've lost weight this week! I sure didn't feel like then and definitely not now!

Tina- snow shoes! How cool!

Diana- welcome home! Rest up!

Beth-I've never heard of that book. I'm reading two books at the moment: How to Be a Mary Ina Martha's World (with my women's Bible Study) and Clockwork Angel (my fantasy/sci fi fun!)

They are out of control with balls at the moment, so I need to remove indoor basketball net and calm them down and get started no matter how tired I am!

Happy Birthday, to Little K! I ended up doing X62-all the sections except fat burning. It felt good and my endurance must be increasing because I had very little trouble. I did use 5 lbs for everything so that probably helped my endurance. Tomorrow is Supercuts. I'm going to try to match Cathe's weights-8 pounds for most. We'll see how it goes-do NOT want to hurt my shoulders!

Beth

Last night I did ICE Boot Camp Blizzard Blast and Muscle Meltdown biceps. I hope to do another either ICE or XTrain cardio/body part style wo tonight.

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday was the 1st day of the cleanse and it went well. Today was good too. The macros are completely off of my normal...higher protein. The carbs, fat and fiber levels are all high and the protein is low. Yesterday was 56 grams of fiber and today was 42.

I did BR Day 1 yesterday and Day 2 today. Each one of those days I was planning on getting in GS C&B and it never happened. It's really difficult getting that additional w/o in on a workday. Tomorrow morning will be GS and if I have time at lunch, then I'll do the next BR w/o.

I'm trying to get all our tax stuff together and hopefully take care of them this weekend.

Tina-sounds like you started STS again! I started noticing more arm and ab definition when I started adding the BR w/o's to my rotation. I think it's the additional muscle stimulation that is working for us!

Beth-Yep, I'm a Bronco Fan!!!! So happy for Peyton Manning! Wow, you go girl...X62 is no joke! That workout always takes my breath away. I'm so behind with the ICE w/o's. My knee is still very painful and I can't step, or do a lot of choreographed w/o's which is keeping me away from some of the cathe cardio w/o's. I'm finally back to my pre-travel weight. Tons of water and my normal eating for a couple days was all it took. Not sure what will happen with the cleanse. A lot of folks say they lose weight. That hasn't happened to me though. Perhaps a couple lbs over the whole cleanse, but nothing to brag about. It is nice eating fresh, clean, homemade food. The cleanup isn't fun though.

LL-Happy Birthday to little K! Enjoy the birthday party. Obviously things are changing if folks are noticing. It's not all about the scale, keep up the good work. We all fall off the wagon so to speak, we need to be able to live our lives without feeling guilty about what we eat. I think doing the MM and BB's sound awesome.

bbl

Wow Beth! Way to go on X62!

Unintentional rest for me. Woke up late, didn't get to it.[emoji37] eating terribly still. Off to bed!
