Damage Control December!!!

Hey Ladies.

This morning's work out was all body weight lower body only....

Speed Squats: 10 sets of 20 reps w/10 sec rest between sets.
Squat Jumps: 4 sets of 8 reps w/20 sec rest between sets.
Walking Lunges: 100.
Single Leg Dead Lift/Stork: 50 per leg.
Reverse Lunges: 50 per leg.

This took me 30 minutes to complete. It is another free work out I got in my email box. I had to change it a bit due to my shoulder as there were some core movements in the original work out that I just can't do with my shoulder right now. Especially not shortly after waking up! It was another painful morning!:eek::(

The good news, though is that my hip is feeling better at least...

Hey girls -

went to the specialist - NOT good news - have to have tooth extracted and IMPLANT .. mega bucks .. and mega time and pain for me!! :mad: :(:(:( I left the office in tears .. the infection is worse than they thought and cant belive I am not in real bad pain .. (hope it isnt coming) .. I am NOT a happy camper!!

Wendy - what exactly is the problem with your shoulder? did you pull soemthing or is it bursitis??? good workout !!!

Laura:: Oh no! Sorry about the RX on your tooth! Hugs to you, honey! My shoulder is likely an over-use injury from all of the torture I've been putting them through. Crazy amount of planks and push ups, burpees and the like...day after day after week after week lately.... I guess it was bound to happen. :eek: Congrats on your team going to the national championship! WOOT! :D

Di:: Nice work outs! Sending good vibes re: your knee! ITA that diet is the hardest part. This is why I have gained back every pound I lost on WW! :mad: I hid my scale several weeks back and refuse to pull it out. If I look in the mirror and like what I see, and my clothes fit then F it! Screw you scale! LOL Ofcourse if I had the time and patience to track with WW again, I'd be singin' a completely different tune!:p

been busy today .. still bummed about my stupid tooth! :( I ended up doing Combat Power Hiit Ystdy - I always forget how hard that thing is .. I am thinking I am gonna do a ZWOW w/o today!! not sure which one! Thinking one w/weights and cardio!

Wendy - are you snowed in>??? My shoulder acts up when I do a lot of burpees and pushups too .. i have bursitis that flares up in that joint .. another wonderful contribution compliments of OLD AGE!!!

Hi Ladies,

No workout to report for Tuesday or Wednesday. I must be stressed because I am not sleeping. Tossing and turning, getting up in the night and reading or playing computer games....I just want to sleep. I finally took some melatonin at 2:30 am this morning so I did get a little sleep, but I did not wake up feeling refreshed. Tonight I'm taking it again but at 9pm so hopefully I'll sleep all night and be able to w/o tomorrow morning.

I missed my weigh in last week due to the stinkin' weather, but went to a different location near my house to weigh in today. I am up .6 over the past 2 weeks. My goal was to lose 2lbs this month, but with Christmas it may not be possible. Perhaps not gaining would be a more realistic goal.

Laura-sorry about your tooth, {{HUGS}}. Our arctic blast is moving out, supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow. I was sick of the negative digits and it's nothing like what Lori has to deal with. I shouldn't complain, but 50's is sounding good! Yay Auburn!!!

Wendy-I hear yah on the scale, at this point in my life and my weight loss journey it is a good tool for me. I've saved some ZWOW w/o's to my library- Zwow 1-15 so I can do some of those on my w/o tv now. :) Oh, and I downloaded the CTA app. I may just get the pro, for $2 why not!

TG-nice w/o. For me, the best part about finishing meso 1 is no more pushup hell! Those pushups in meso 1 are brutal.

This morning did Cathe's throwback workout he...he...hee Cardio Kicks and it still KICKS...... love this workout. Followed up with 5 exercises from Legs & Glutes, that's it. Have a wonderful day all.:rolleyes:

Here it is!

This morning I did a 4 min lower body TT work out::
20 secs of "punisher squats" (body weight squats)
10 secs squat hold
20 secs of "punisher squats" (body weight squats)
10 secs squat hold
1 min of forward/backward bodyweight lunges on right side
1 min of forward/backward bodyweight lunges on left side
20 secs of "punisher squats" (body weight squats)
10 secs squat hold
20 secs of "punis...her squats" (body weight squats)
10 secs squat hold

Then I did this to finish the legs (5 mins)::
1 min of firewalkers w/a squat with green band (4 steps one way, 1 squat, repeat other way)
20 seconds rest to switch bands
1 min of firewalkers w/a squat with blue band
20 seconds rest to switch bands
1 min of firewalkers w/a squat with green band
20 seconds rest to switch bands
1 min of firewalkers w/a squat with blue band
and this morning I did this::

3 tabatas. All 8@10/20:
#1- sliding reverse prisoner lunges and prisoner squats
#2- one arm swings -yes with good form/shldr stabilization I was easily able to do these pain free. Just kept weight on lighter side.
#3- firewalkers with blue band and burpees sans p/u and jump up but keeping band on ankles.
 
Diana:: 2# is a very reasonable weight loss goal this month. I'd personally be happy with even just a 2# gain though! :p

TG:: CK is a great work out! So much fun. :)

Laura:: Nah, not even close to snowed in. Got a couple of inches at best. Every school in the area closed that day but my town. Would have been silly to close so I'm glad they chose to stay open. The other towns might be kickin' themselves for that decision now...:rolleyes:

Hello Ladies ..

Last night I did ZWOW - 365 rep challenge (aka: burpee h##L) ... I added some reps on lower body .. so it was a bit more than 365 reps .. and my booty KNOWS it!! :confused: today will either be Lean legs - or another mixed weight/cardio ZWOW ...

Di - glad your temps are getting better - ours are taking a dip .. tonight to be in the 20's!! bbbrrrrrrrrrrr

Wendy - love your combos you been doing .. just reading about firewalkers make my butt twing in fear as sore as it is .. lol!!!

anyone order P90X3????? all the workouts are only 30 minutes :eek::eek: :D:D:D oh you know I JUMPED on it .. I shouldnt have with all the $$$$ my stupid stupid tooth implant is gonna cost .. but at this point ..what is another $100 right????? and 30 minutes .. OH YEAH .. that sold me .. that is what I am LOVING ...

Yay Friday:D

This morning, started with 15 minutes w/u on treadie and d-11 back & triceps. I can tell I'm getting stronger using heavier db like..... db overhead, I used a 20 :rolleyes: back is getting stronger. See ya tomorrow. Company going out for Xmas lunch today, promise I'll be good.

Poochy: Did I hear you right over 365 burpee?:eek: I seen on IG I believe someone mention P90X3 and thought it was a type o he..he..Had no ideal going to check it out. Thanks.
 
TFIG - FRI 13th eeeekkkk

Well .. thank goodness it is FRI .. but my oh my I had a FRi 13th kinda morning .. everything happened .. was a FRENZY!!!! anway ... I survived!! Last night I did LeanLegs - love that workout - today is forced rest day - tonight is our work group's Christmas party - boss is taking us out to OUTBACK ..:eek: ... woohooo ..and I DONT promise to be good!! :eek: :p:p then tmrw is the girls Annual Dirty Santa Ornament party ... and I WONT be good again!!! :confused: :confused::p I am gonna try to SQUEEZE some sort of quick workout in tho!! I have a LOT to do tho!!! and will depend a lot on how much celebrating I do tonight :eek: :p

I hope to leave early enought today to get my Christmas tree .. NO I have not got mine yet .. and it should be hillarious to see how and what Brutus acts and does!! :confused::confused::confused:

TG - it was 365 reps .. ended up being about 100+ competition burpees tho :confused: TUFF STUFF!!! YUP - Tony has put out P90X3 .. all 30 minute workouts!! chk it out!

This circuit 3x thru with no rest...
wearing blue fw band the whole time!:eek:

10 firewalkers
10 rear slide lunges left
10 rear slide lunges right
10 one arm kb swings left
10 one arm kb swings right
10 burpees (no p/u or jump up)

Today is YTBD but I am considering Asylum 2' lower body workout....:eek:

Nail aptmnt first tho!:)

Hi Ladies,

I didn't workout much this week. :mad: Time to get back on the w/o and eating right wagon. The plan is Disc 3 and Cardio today, Disc 2 and Cardio tomorrow to get me back on track. I do have two full days of training on Tuesday/Wednesday so my w/o's will have to be at night. I'm committing right now to doing my w/o at night on those days!;) Monday night is my last bootcamp class until mid to late January. By then I should have a better idea of what's going on with my knee.

So I have a very busy weekend....of chores! Cleaning out the girls closet, rearranging the kitchen cupboards to get all the crap off my counters, putting up the Christmas tree & decorating the house, and Christmas shopping! I better get busy!

TG-woo hoo, it's so nice going up in weights huh!:D You are doing great with your w/o's!

Wendy-you amaze me with all your killer w/o's you put together! I'm still enjoying the BR challenge and probably finish it up in another week. I've also added a bunch of Zwow's to my youtube library so I can use my w/o TV to do them.

Laura-wondering how long your tree will last with Brutus in the house!:p Enjoy your cabs, the w/o's your doing will counteract them for sure!

Good Morning Ladies.

I am pleasantly sore from yesterday's work out....

Bulgarian Split Squat (8 each side)
Chest press on SB @ deep incline, moderate incline, table top (6 per - right side only. I should have done something different on the left but I didn't. Oh well.)
KB one arm swings (10 left/10 right)
x3 rounds with 1 min rest btwn rounds

Goblet reverse lunge (10 each side)
1 arm db row (12 per side- amazingly enough my shoulder was OK on this one. It's not the same kind of row that was in the original work out though.)
Band chop right/Bottoms up kb squat left (15 each-left side was a stability exercise for the shoulder that happened to also work the core a bit.)
x3 rounds with 1 min rest btwn rounds

Pop Squats (10) (This was supposed to be a box jump or jump squat but I needed to keep my arms down so I changed it)
SB Hamstring Roll Ins (15) (This was supposed to be some crazy push up on the ball that my shoulder was not having it. Couldn't even manage a pain free non-crazy sb push up with the ball on my thighs. :( )
Skaters (30)
SB Knee roll Ins (12) ( This was originally a kneeling sb roll out that I couldn't do)
TB Extension (20 but with only right arm extending.)
Plank Hold (15 secs) (This was a body saw but the movement wasn't happening)
x3 rounds with 1 min rest btwn rounds

5 mins repeating following 2 exercises only resting when needed
10 one arm swings left then right (This was a burpee but y'day it wasn't happening)
30 prisoner jacks (this was regular jumping jacks but I had to take away the arms)

DONE!
(lots of weird changes made to original work out due to my current shoulder issue but I made it work)

Today may be a rest day. Lots to do!:cool:

This morning's work out is another adjusted version of the original b/c of my shoulder and I also completely left out one part by accident! :confused::eek:

One Arm DB Rows to 2 reps short of failure.
DB Squat and Press (8) - I didn't do the press on the left.
Rest 30 seconds and repeat 2 more times...

Goblet Switch Lunge (8/side)
Chest press Right (10)/ KB Bottoms Ups hold Left
Rest 30 seconds and repeat 2 more times

Pop Squats (10)
Elevated Renegade Row-body weight only (8/side)
Side to side hops (40)
Plank hold (30 secs)
Rest 1 minute and repeat 2 more times

Here is what the original FULL work out looks like. 3A and 3B are what I forgot to do::

1A) Chin-ups or Inverted Row or Strap Row (2 reps short of failure)
1B) DB Squat and Press (8)
Rest 30 seconds and repeat 2 more times
2A) Goblet Switch Lunge (8/side)
2B) DB Squeeze Press (10)
Rest 30 seconds and repeat 2 more times
3A) 1-Leg DB Romanian Deadlift (8/side)
3B) Stability Ball Stir-the-Pot or X-Body Mountain Climber (8/side)
Rest 30 seconds and repeat 2 more times
4A) Jump Squats (10)

Hi Ladies,

My legs are feeling yesterday's STS w/o today!!! I was wiped out after doing it and never did a cardio w/o. I put in Imax 3 but couldn't even manage the warm up without my knee hurting. I called it quits and went about my busy day.

I wrapped gifts for 4 hours last night, most of my cards have been mailed, the tree is only half decorated....there is plenty for me to do tonight.

This morning I did BR Challenge Day 15 or 16, can't remember which, but it was a goodie. Tomorrow and Wednesday I have work meetings at 7am....ugh. I'm committing to working out in the evening on those days. Oh, and they are providing breakfast and lunch. I'm sure it's bagels/pastries...high point foods. I'm taking my breakfast but will have to deal what ever they serve us for lunch. I'm also taking an apple & banana, and maybe even a baggie of carrots.

Today is my last bootcamp class, but I'm skipping it. To be honest, I haven't been very happy with this session. There was too much bosu (painful on my bad knee) and tubing and not nearly enough cardio or weights. Not sure if I'll be taking the session when it's starts in January. I don't feel like I'm getting the bang for buck. I have a harder workouts I could do at home...as you all know.

Wendy-Thanks for sharing your w/o's. Can you tell me what goblet switch lunges and goblet reverse lunges are? Did you do something to injure your shoulder? My right shoulder is still bad. Anytime my elbow breaks the plane of my body...dips for example are very painful...I sub with over press!

I am taking a (forced) rest day today. I'm not totally happy about it but I need to be careful...at least for a while anyway....:rolleyes:

Di:: I believe my shoulder is some type of over-use injury. I was doing tons of planks and burpees and push ups, etc. I think I just pushed it too hard for too long w/o enough rest. Nice job on your work outs! I'm amazed that you are considering sitting the next bootcamp session out. I personally love the burn that tubing/bands provide but to each her own. If the bosu is hurting your knee, can't you just do the exercises w/o it?? On the bright side, think of the money you will save if you don't sign up for the next BC session! ;)

Laura:: Brutus and a Christmas Tree can only be trouble! :eek: Make sure you catch it on video for us!:p lol
