Good Morning, everyone!! Where's our fearless leader, Wendy, today? Could she be sleeping in a little from staying out too late last night ;) ?

Day Four of the rotation complete. 4DS legs and the floorwork from Legs and Glutes. Believe it or not....I pulled out Legs and Glutes, which I bought years ago, and had to unwrap it from its original wrapping :eek: I bought that set prolly three years ago, and right after I got it I decided to start running more, and apparently never found a reason to use it. Geesh...who needs to shop for new and exciting things? All I really need to do is go through the things I already have :rolleyes:.

Mornin' Ladies,

Well I woke up to our first measurable snow this morning! DH is letting me drive the big ol silverado and he is driving the jeep. Of course I'll have to warmup and scrape window since it is too big to fit in our garage.

I'm doing cardio today and will do the leg workout tomorrow. I haven't decided which workout to do but am thinking of bodymax (original) cardio & circuits only.

I'm so proud of DH, he is doing some weights and cardio everyday when he gets home from work. All of this has been prompted by his physical and blood work results. He's always supported my exercise habits but would never join in. I haven't been able to motivate him in 20yrs but am happy he is doing it now.

Jen-Wow, can't believe you've never done GS Legs before. What did you think of it? I too have some w/o's I haven't done yet. A couple of them are Tracey Staehle that I previewed from a friend and really liked so I ordered from collage but haven't done them. I think they are shorter w/o's and I like at least 60 min cardio w/o's.

Too funny. Jen was absolutely right! I didn't get home until 11:30 last night and then since I don't have work today, I let myself sleep in. I got on to the forums but didn't start the thread right away and then I ran out of time....

I did well y'day with food until dinner. For after eating my sandwich and fruit at work I came home and made a 1/2 serving of the P90X recovery drink and drank it during my work out. I had to finish the weight work. After that I ate something which eludes me at the moment (LOL) but I know it was healthy. Then later on around 5:00 I had a small snack of 2 fibercrisp crackers with some polaner allfruit on them to get me through til dinner w/o starving. At the restaraunt (Ruby Tuesdays) I had a salad and then I ordered a creole fish dish that came with some rice and broccoli. It didn't seem too bad but I think it was probably worse then I am figuring. Meals from places like that usually are. :confused: I also had a glass of sangria with dinner but I feel no guilt about that! :p

Today so far I've only had a small bowl of oatmeal. I have to go to mom's tonight for dinner. I will watch my portions there as she always serves something that is fried or drowning in butter!:eek: Good, YES! Healthy? Um, not quite!:D

Ok I've babbled on long enough. Let me get this posted and come back with personals.

Morning Ladies ..

My night was AWESOME w/my friends .. my friend w/cancer .. her hair is growing out .. OMG .. she looked GREAT .. I forgot my camera .. dang it .. but her hair looks like a cutie pie pixie cut .. told her she should keep it like that .. she looks GREAT!!! We laughed and laughed .. and OH MAN .. just a great night .. her EX husband came by .. and OMG .. did she ever crack me up talking about him .. LOL .. she is just a HOOT!!

ALAS .. the eats and CABS were pretty bad!! :eek: 2 slices of reg pepperoni pizza and 2 breadstix .. FOUR coors lights :eek::eek::eek: OH WELL .. I can actually say I dont feel one bit of remorse b/c I had a BLAST .. it was a good for my soul kinda night!!! :D

So today .. DH got up and made me an egg white omolete :) (I know I am spoiled what can I say) and I am stuffed now. So today will for sure be a sandwich or lean quisine ... and cardio at lunch .. am teetering on what to do in class tonight ??? thinking I am in the mood for a mish mosh of stuff .. may do my bootcamp class .. have not done that in a while!!!

Jen . . LOL .. I have the same thing .. I have SEVERAL w/o in celephane .. never felt the need to do them b/c of the exercise ADD I guess I always found something else funner instead .. LOL!!

Wendy .. you did better than me on the eats .. but I dont think you could have possibly had as good of a time as I did .. LOL!! Glad you enjoyed your night .. your meal sounded good!!!!

Di - snow and icy windsheild?? Yikes!! Today is dreary here .. clouds and supposed to start raining this afternoon .. temp are mild around 58 the high .. and 40 the low .. so no chance of snow here .. just mushy rain!!

Jacque .. CHEESE .. oh my .. CHEESE (real cheese no low fat crap for this chick) and CABS are my weakest link!! I can not turn either of them down .. LOL! I love any kind of cheese .. mainly w/crackers ... I really am not supposed to have too much cheese b/c of kidney stones .. but I can not make myself give it up!

OK .. hello to all that follow .. gotta jet .. back at MY desk today .. and stack of paperwork to get to. have a great one .. BBL to check on what everyone is up to!:D
 
Back for personals.

I just ate 2 fibercrisp crackers with a very thin coating of pb on them as a snack before hitting the gym. I have to let my cell phone charge a bit before heading out though so now is the perfect time to catch up. :)

Jen: Good job on the eats and NO GUILT OVER WINE! That's our motto! As long as it's kept to about a glass a night, it's allowed, right? RIGHT! ;) The sangria I had last night was yummy too. I think the protein bars are a great answer to the sweet craving so long as they aren't the ones that have a billion cals in them. Pria is a nice low cal one that satifies my sweet tooth just fine. :)

Laura: I had fun last night but more CABS would have meant MORE fun for sure! :D Glad your friend with cancer is doing well. So nice to hear the positive! Enjoy your cardio at lunch and your class tonight. Gotta love bootcamp!

Diana: OMG, shoulders sure do burn! I can't imagine having to do that segment TWICE! :eek: Kudos to your DH for getting into fitness! I hope he stays motivated!!! My DH falls in and out of it. Unfortunately he is out of it more then into it. :( Oh well. I don't nag him cause that won't help. He'll do it when he wants to....

Jacque: Glad you are feeling better. :) ITA that the small indugences (wine/chocolate) are fine as long as they are kept under control and the rest of the diet is on track. Never had a piece of dark chocolate while drinking a glass of wine. Gonna have to try that! What kind of wine would you suggest? I need to go buy a bottle anyhow! :D

Hi!

Back from the gym and done with lunch. I did Itreads 16 and 9/20 mins back to back plus a few minutes of steady state to bring me up to a good 4 miler.

Lunch was a turkey sandwich on ww bread. I also ate a 70% chocolate square while making the sandwich. No wine though. Too early in the day for that. :p

Gotta get in the shower now but I'll be back later on!

I'm eating...AGAIN...so I figured I'd pop in and report it. :p

I had an apple right before going to pick up DS from school and am now finishing up a Lean Gourment meal (250 cals I think) and 2 fibercrisp crackers (dry). It's a rather large snack but I need it today if I don't want to gorge on my mom's pretty unhealthy dinner later on....Besides, these frozen diet meals really are nothing but a snack to me. I'd starve to death if that's all I ate for dinner!:eek:
 
Wendy, I hear you on the size of those frozen dinners. I'm relieved you feel the same way. I've never understood how anyone can be satisfied with just that. I figured I must just have a gi-normous appetite!!

Great workout today! I think you've got a great strategy of having the healthy snack before going to mom's. And you're right...a glass of wine a night should not cause any guilt. Thanks. I'm going to remind myself of that often! ;)

Laura, so glad to hear you had a great time last night! I haven't had a night out like that in a long time, and I think it's time to organize a little outing. Nothing better than to eat, drink, and laugh with a couple of your best GFs.

Diana, the leg workout was tough today, though I think I could have gone heavier than I did. I'm not sure what I think of L&G just yet, because I've only seen that last few minutes of it for the floor work. Definitely have to preview the rest of it and give it a try soon. Have fun with legs tomorrow ;)

Jacque, how are you feeling today?

My eats for the day have been pretty good, mostly because I can't taste a thing so I'm not really enjoying anything. Breakfast was Eggbeaters and a WW Pita, snack was some dried fruit & nuts (raisins, cranberries, bananas and a few chucks of pineapple, couple of almonds, yummmm...), and lunch was the turkey chili I made the other night with some butternut squash on the side (nice combo, huh?). I'm thinking of a salad with grilled chicken for dinner, 'cuz I DO NOT feel like cooking tonight, so I'm thinkin' I'll grab pizza for the kids.

Took a walk during my lunch hour, which I've been doing all week. The weather has been pretty cooperative lately ***knock on wood***

Almost time to scoot outta here, will check in later~

Hey Ladies,

DS interrupted my cardio workout this morning to ask for a ride to school. I gave him crap about it, but also mentioned on the drive to school that there weren't any other kids riding their bikes in the snow. I only got in 40 min of BM original, it was through the first circuit cycle. At least he warmed up the truck and scrapped the windows for me.;)

I forgot to mention that DH made creamy pototo soup with the leftover ham for dinner last night. It was delicious. No lunch w/o as it is ww meeting and weigh in day. I'm up 3lbs over the last 2 weeks. I've been exercising a lot and am so disappointed with the scale. Other than that, I feel great and my muscles feel worked so that's a good thing.

So far today I've had my normal fiber one breakfast, progesso soup & an apple for lunch, ww 2pt bar for a snack.

Wendy-IA, those boxed meals are like snacks to me too. Glad you had a good time with your friend. I love the crispy thin ww wafer crackers too. I usually put almond butter on them. Yummy!!!

Laura-It sounds like your friend is finally on the mend. You really are spoiled if DH made you an egg white omelette. Sounds like you had a wonderful time and that's what's important.

Jacque-glad you are feeling better!

Angie-Not sure if I mentioned that boca burgers are soy. They are similar to veggie burgers but are soy. They are full of protein for relatively low calories. I usually eat two of them with bbq sauce or ketchup, no bread.

MAN what a day .. it is so freaking busy .. I would swear it is a full moon .. but I checked it is not . . but venus and saturn are pretty close to the earth right now .. maybe they are affecting the crazies out there!! LOL

Lunch .. left late did not get my workout - was just enough time to grab a Subway sandwich and chips .. ham, turkey, beef on wheat - no mayo or sauces .. just veggies - about 180 calories and 6 grams of fat - chips not bad either .. so did good. Apple for a snack ...

think I decided on a 6 step bootcamp style workout .. seeing as to how I missed my lunch w/o!

DH is cooking tonight .. :confused: .. the food/calorie count may be high .. but at least he usually cooks veggies!! :)

Di .. I have never had potato soup .. but I love potatoes and soup so I need to try it .. there is a deli here that serves it .. so that may be good for tommorrow????

Jen ...usually when my taste buds dont work right I overeat .. in attempts to try to taste "something" ... at least you are doing excellent in the eats dept!!!

Well, I ended up not making it to mom's after all so I ate a small salad and tuna on whole grain/whole wheat crackers for dinner. Definately better for me then what the "butter queen" would have been serving though admittedly not as tastey!:p I also had a dark chocolate cookie for dessert-a little bit of heaven! :)

Now I am drinking a *very* light beer...MGD 64...since I have no wine on hand! :D

Laura: You are lucky that your DH cooks. My DH isn't worth a damn in the kitchen. :rolleyes:

Diana: Sorry you are up 3 pounds but it could be anything and could be gone tmrw so don't fret about it just yet. :)

Jen: I DO have a gi-normous appetite :p but even if I didn't, those meals still wouldn't cut it for me!

Jen - Good job getting everyone started here today ! Finally Wendy slept in like the rest of us, huh? he he he :p Funny about never doing L & G - that is one of my favs - and though I don't have any w/o's still wrapped, there are a couple I haven't done yet. Tomorrow is my leg day and I love working legs ! :D Thanks for the reminder about the butternut squash - I have one in the fridge to make soup and haven't done it yet ! :rolleyes: and nice job on the lunch walks ! I never have enough time to eat lunch, let alone walk too !:(

Wendy - Nice getting in 4 miles in a short time there ! I love the fibercrisp crackers (I think I get the Wasa or something similar). My fav is breaking up a square of cheese (POOOOOOCCCCHHHYYYYY) and putting it between two. But I could eat them plain too ! :p The Lean Cuisine's - I like them but usually add a small salad and that works for me. It's nice since you know exactly the cals/fat/protein you are eating without measuring. I try to keep it near 300 and less than 7 or 8 with the fat. Try not to eat them too often because of the sodium. Like today I threw some of the Costco stir fry veggies, a handful of shrimp and some chicken broth (low sodium) into a bowl for lunch. Did add a 1/2 tsp of sesame oil for a little more flavor. But that works perfect for me. And the chocolate/wine combo, not usually together, but have heard a good dark red is perfect with chocolate. My favs right now are Merlot or Pinor Noir. You should be able to handle it since apparently you eat chocolate before a turkey sandwich? LOL ! ;) AND let me say you are doing very well with the eats, making good choices. Can't wait to see how the scale treats you next week ! I laugh at the difference between a Coors Light and Miller 64. I thought Coors tasted like water - but 3 = 2 if you go with the 64 ! (Yep, didn't take me too long to figure that out ! :rolleyes:).

Diana - so do you like the snow or would you rather it take it's time getting to you these days? I love the Maxes - too bad you didn't get the chance to finish. Wonderful about DH - mine does do physical work sometimes and plays roller hockey for an hour once a week. Will definitely never get him to workout though - even if his health was failing I'm afraid. He respects my time working out though and does make very nice comments so I guess that will have to do. I usually don't do plain potato soup because I so love clam chowder so figure, why not add some seafood? But all in all, it is so similar and so yummy on cold days ! :D

Laura - so happy you had a great time last night. LOL at the eats, but WTH ! There is always "Damage Control" that can be done after. Will wait to see how you 'killed' your class tonight because of what you ate/drank last night ! :eek: Have to say that probably once every couple of months I will skip taking lunch and hit Subway. I love their sandwiches with all the veggies ! Skip the cheese (yep !:eek:), mayo and oil. Use mustard and some vinegar and am in heaven. No chips for me though - I'm fine with just the sandwich since I don't workout as much as you. Hope your paper piles have shortened ! ;)

So my eats have been horrendous today. Did fine with breakfast and lunch, but once I got home the muchies kicked in. I love the pretzel chips with PB sandwiched between. Had four, which isn't bad 'cuz the PB turns out to be less than 2 TBS, but then still had the munchines so went for the fibercrisps with some Swiss/American cheese in between. No dinner to cook for me though so it may be a steamed brocolli night here. Had a very large salad last night with warmed mesquite grilled steak so don't feel like a salad tonite too.

Sometimes life gets in the way.....

We had an away game last night so by the time I got home and ready to post my internet went out. I called this morning and they had an outage that didn't come back online until late this afternoon. Oh well, at least I got a lot of stuff done today. Although, I still have some online shopping to do. I can't believe time's running short on the Christmas front already. I have a X-mas party for the next 4 weekends straight!:eek: I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year.....so busy, but so fun. I just dragged the tree downstairs so hopefully we'll be able to start to decorate tomorrow. If it keeps snowing like it has been, the boys won't have school tomorrow. It stopped for now, but we got about 5 inches in 5 hours earlier today.

Oh, I did Kenpo today and will do L&B with ARX tomorrow for the official end to the X.:D I still gotta make a plan for what's next. Sunday will be a rest day since I will be downstate at a party and Monday will likely be busy too, but am hoping to start a new rotation. I might join in on the FF Dec rotation....looks challenging!

Wendy - Stop!! Do NOT try the wine and chocolate. I'm sure it's awful.:p You don't want another addiction do you?;)

I've been cravin a beer tonight for some reason, but will wait until tomorrow night when the nascar awards show is on. How are the MGD64's? I don't like Miller lite....really the only light beer I really do NOT like. Do they taste similar?
I ate out last night too but did OK. I had a big salad with a tbsp of ranch and grilled chicken, broccoli and some white rice.

Jen - Your eats sound really good. Hmmm - might have to try those wraps. I haven't had one in a long time. Yummy:)

Di - You just reminded me.....I haven't made crockpot oatmeal in ages. I think I will whip up a batch tonight before bed. At least that way I know I will have something to look forward to in the morning.:D
So cool that DH is exercising. My DH really is crunched for time and his phone rings constantly so I don't think he will ever have a routine. He tried once, but there was just no way he could handle it all. He leaves the house at 5am and gets home around 6-7 and then has dinner, showers, does phone calls and goes to bed at 9.:eek: I would HATE his schedule, but he's used to it....he's done it for 20 years.
I might have to try the boca's. Thanks for the info.

Jacque - So glad the belly is getting better. Having a sour stomach is the pits! So is the back coming along too?
I hear you. When I drink CABs my eats go right out the window! There's a free serving of "I don't give a crap" in every bottle.:eek: Not to mention I get horrible munchies after a couple o CABs.
