Damage Control August :)

Hi Ladies,

The tri is behind me. It actually went quite well. I seem to finish this race in 1:40 to 1:41 each year. My overall place was 231 out of...not sure really. They cap the race at 600, but I'm not sure how many actually competed. The gal I raced with came in 213! My neck and shoulder area are sore so I'm hoping to go see a massage therapist this week.

Tina-Nice job finishing Meso 2! I'm not sure what to do next. I'll have to come up with something. Glad you new baby nephew has arrived!!

LL-wow, that is a lot of stuff to take on vacation. I usually only take "no equipment needed" w/o's, mainly kickbox, CCC, HIIT etc. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Wendy-what job are you applying for? How's the house hunting going?

Laura-What tragic news. HUGS to all affected by this tragedy. I'm so sorry.

Hey Ladies.

Didn't realize how long it's been since my last visit.

Sat:: P90X3 CVX
Sun:: Heavy weight circuit w/tabata-60 mins.
Mon:: Run - 35 mins - mostly incline work.

Di:: Nice job on the tri! You rock! Sign up for next year yet? ;)
We are perusing open houses every Sunday. Lots out there for us to consider which is nice. No more showings on our house yet. :( Having an open house while we are on vacation though. Hoping that helps!
I applied for a training job at another gym in my area. It's actually across the street from the gym I work at now! LOL I got the call y'day that they are offering me the position!!! :) I wasn't sure that I'd be able to take it b/c I had a condition that needed to be met or I couldn't work there. It was something I was originally told no to but it appears the mgr has had a change of heart! I go in on Thursday afternoon to complete the hiring process! Fingers crossed that he doesn't change his mind or get told by a superior that he can't agree to it! I'd be working 20 hrs per week (days only) mandatory paid floor time to start while I work on building my client base. Once I have enough clients to fill my time the mandatory floor time will go away. Only gym that I have heard of that gives you benefits as a full time trainer which is 32 hours per week. It may not happen for me but just the fact that it's available is phenomenal and unheard of! Wish me luck!:D

Tina:: Break your top speed or go at break-neck speed? :) I find cycling to be incredibly difficult! You rock! I applied for a training job! See above - I explained it all to Di!

LL:: Have fun on vacation! LOL about your DS refusing to do burpees on vacation.

Laura:: OMG so sorry to hear about your friend's mom. How awful. :(

Hi Ladies,

Long day for me yesterday. MIL had hip replacement surgery yesterday. After work I headed to the hospital and didn't get home til almost 10pm. I'm beat.

Xtrain Bi's/Tri's and core #2 were completed this morning. I'm hoping to hit the tabata class tonight at the new gym I'm going to. It's a 5:30 class, hoping I can get there in time. This is the gym I'm doing the 6 week weight loss challenge through and they also offer the Project Me program that I hope to do this fall.

Tomorrow they are allowing me to work from home. We are having solar installed. They will have to cut the power for 2 hours. Hopefully that will happen at lunch time when I have a massage therapy appt at.

Wendy-What great news!!! Good luck on your new job! Opportunity for benefits is great too. Will you still be able to work at the Training Rim also? I'll probably do this tri again next year. Good luck on your house hunt. DH has me wanting to move too now. My hour plus commute is pretty awful. In October though I can start working from home on T/TH. That will certainly help!

LL-hope you are having a wonderful vacation!

Laura-big hugs for you lady. Hope everything is going as well as expected.

Tina-how far are you riding today???

Jacque-are you back from your business trip?

bbl

Today's work out was 2 rounds of this (slow/precise/total concentration on form. My butt is already sore! )::

Split Stance Squat Right (10), One Arm DB Row Right (10), Right Side Plank Hold (15 secs), Stork Right (10) (similar to a single leg deadlift) then repeat on left and finish set with Push Ups (10). Then I did one tabata round of battle ropes and one arm swings.

Tomorrow will likely be a rest day. I am taking DS to Liberty State Science Center with my mom, sister and her 4 girls for the day.

Di:: Being able to keep that job is exactly the condition I need met in order to take the new job!(For financial reasons) So far it seems as though it's been agreed to even though initially I was told I wouldn't be allowed. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your MIL! Sounds like the gym has you covered between classes, weight loss challenges and Project Me! Must be a great facility! Why not put your house up for sale and see what happens? :)

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday was a rest day for me. I had a sports massage to help eliminate some of the neck/shoulder tightness. This morning I did BR Day 25. This weekend I'm going to join Zuzka's gym and give that a whirl.

I took the tabata class at the new gym on Tuesday night, not a fan. I'll probably take the Sat and Sunday morning classes. I've taken the Sunday one and really like it. The Sat class would be new for me, but I want to give it a try.

Not sure if I mentioned this or not, but we are having solar panels installed on our house. They started yesterday and will finish today. It's pretty cool!

Wendy-nice w/o lady. When does Joey go back to school? There is a lot of work that needs to be done on our house before we could sell it. Perhaps in the spring or the following year. We'll see.

Waving hi to all our long lost dc'ers!

Vacation week has been great so far. Yesterday was a 50 mile ride. Today we'll try for a 60, but the weather doesn't look great.

Diana, I hope your MIL is recovering well. Congrats on getting solar panels. DH would love to switch over, but there isn't an affordable company in our area. My BIL has a solar water heater and loves it.

Wendy, congrats on the new job! :)

Hi Ladies! :D

LSC on Wednesday was fun but maddening because it was packed with tons of kids (summer camp field trips, etc). UGH!

So on Thursday afternoon I made the new job completely official & yesterday I gave my notice to the 2 jobs I am quitting. YAY! :) I'm actually a little sad to be leaving both of them because I do like the few clients I work with at these places but the $ just isn't there.

On Thursday morning I did a quick back/core work out on the cable machine and a 30 min run of intervals/steady state/hills/flats at the gym.

Yesterday was damn close to a rest day but I turned it around after dinner with this::
Indian Clubs, T squats, Toe Touch Squats - 10 reps of each x 2 rounds
4 plank to push ups and 10 modified pull ups x 4 rounds
10 kb pick ups and 10 deadlifts x 4 rounds
10 reverse lunges right, 10 squat 2 arm press and10 reverse lunges left x 4 rounds...
10 alternating renegade rows and a twenty second hold floor bridge x 4 rounds....DONE! :)

Today, after work, I RUN!:D

Di:: Joey starts school right after Labor Day. You guys start earlier right? You don't have to do any work on the house - you can sell it "as is" if you want. Wow - solar panels! You are the first person I know who has done that! You must keep us posted on this!

Tina:: Love that you are keeping up the riding while on vacation! I always try to work out on vacation as well. Just makes me feel better if I can squeeze something in!

Today was a 55 mile ride w/ abs and stretch. Hopefully we can end vacation with one more ride tomorrow. We'll wait and see what the weather brings. It feels more like October now.

Wendy, I can't wait to hear how your new job is. Good luck! :)

BBL :)

My work out today turned out NOT to be a run (I'll run tmrw! I swear! ) so here's what I did::
One round of 10 reps of Indian Clubs, T Squats and Toe Touch Squats.
Three rounds of 10 Overhead KB Squats R, 5 Renegade Rows R, 5 Push ups, 10 Goblet Squats and 10 Bent Over DB Rows R. Repeated on Left side and then 25 two arm KB swings. Good stuff! Happy Saturday! :D

Hi ladies,

Yesterday was a 6 mile run! Longest I've ran since my vacation back in June. That is what the HM training called for. I don't know if I'm going to do it or not, but am happy to run on the weekends when I can. This morning I'm going to the new gym for the bootcamp class at 10am. I'm also going to ask my coach for the details on the ProjectMe program.

My dear MIL is in a rehab facility. I was there Friday night, yesterday morning and evening and will be back at lunch time and again tonight. It's exhausting. Sometime today I also need to finish the laundry, grocery shop, and prepare some of my meals for the week. Right now though, I'm enjoying my second cup of coffee.;)

I'm considering starting STS. So many options, so little time. I do think it would pair nicely with the ProjectMe program.

Wendy-Will you just have 1 job, or 2...the other being at the Training Rim? You are getting in some awesome w/o's! All of our schools start next week. Jerod is going to the local community college to start with and he starts next week as well. It will save us about $20K for the first year. He applied to the college he wanted to go to at the last minute and there were issues with his application. He's stuck at the local community college because of his own procrastination. I feel a little bad for him as he will miss out on dorm living, but it's his own fault. Happy about saving the $$ though.

Tina-Nice rides you are getting in on vacation! I'm still jealous that your DH works out with you. Wish mine would.

Hi Laura and Jacque!

Hi Ladies. :)

Yesterday I ran. 30 mins = 5 min w/u, 20 mins hill sprint intervals, 5 min c/d.

Today will be a weight circuit. BBL with the details.

So tmrw I am going to the new job to attend a meeting but I won't officially start until I return from vacation. I will either work 4 days a week/5 hours a day or 5 days a week/4 hours a day. I will definitely be working on Sundays but the rest of the schedule is TBD. My hours should fall somewhere between 8am and 2pm every day.

My last day at the small studio I work at in the morning is tmrw and my last day at Retro is Saturday the 30th. I feel sad leaving the few clients that I DO have but it's just not worth staying for....*sigh*......So when I gave my notice at Retro my mgr was asking if I might be interested in a training mgr/assistant mgr position (instead of leaving) because it pays for floor time (a base salary) and I told him a big reason I am leaving is because I don't get paid for floor time. I would have considered it but 1) The hours are non-negotiable and even though they are similar to my current schedule I am not crazy about them. For one thing, working 6 days per week is MANDATORY! 2) I think I would probably only want a position like that when/if I became burnt out on training some day. 3) Me?? A manager?? HAH!

Di:: 2 jobs. The new one and the TR. 3 if I get a client through the at-home-training job but those opportunities are sparse...Don't feel bad about starting DS at Community College. It's a great way to go b/c he can get all of the general coursework out of the way for cheap (cheap is a relative term of course ;)) and then go to the college of his choice starting junior year to complete his major. It's becoming a popular way to roll as long as you make sure all of his credits will transfer. I would personally ENCOURAGE it! :) When were you thinking of beginning an STS rotation? Now that I have started running again I have toyed with participating in some races myself but my work schedule does not make it easy so we'll see....

Tina:: TY for the good luck wishes for the job! Very excited (and nervous)!!!

Hi Ladies,

I ended up doing STS disc 2 (back & bi's) after the bootcamp class. It was the longest one so I opted to start with that one on the weekend. This morning was BR Day 26.

My MIL is doing much better, hopefully today we'll find out when she can come home. Some time this week I'm sure.

Wendy-I like to do local/short races just to help keep my running legs moving a bit. Glad you will be starting your new job soon. Hill Sprint Intervals, you are a crazy girl. Those are super tough! I sort of started STS yesterday. I'm going to hang with it for a couple weeks and see how it goes.

Hi Tina, Laura, Jacque and long lost Lori.

Hi all!

I just got back late Saturday night and was sore from waterskiing on Friday then the 10 hr drive in Saturday. So yesterday I did yoga max which was perfect for me.today I didn't do anything! But believe it or not, I actually lost 2 pounds on vacation!! After all the stuff I brought, I only did turbo bare premix 2 and travel fit!! But I did outside activities all the other day except for my travel days: rope swing and swimming on Sunday, tubing on Monday, Tuesday was maybe travel fit, Wednesday it rained all day so we played games all day, I think that was my turbo are day and we did kayaking and paddle boats. Thursday we went to cape Elizabeth near Portland and climbed the rock cliffs around a lighthouse and then walked around Portland. Friday tubing and waterskiing and boy I'm still sore! I was hoping to do a HiiT today and then my heavy wts tomorrow, but I just didn't get to it today. I need to get back to going to bed earlier so I can get up earlier!

Poochy- sorry to hear about your stress coming back after vaca! Helpfully those workouts will help!

Did this for 3 rounds.
10 Band Walk to R.

Then did 10 Modified Pull Ups.
Did this for 3 rounds.
10 Split Stance Squats with a DB Row R.

Then did 10 Push Ups.
Did this for 3 rounds.

I have DOMS today. YAY!:D

Not sure if I'll have time to work out today but I'll BBL if I do.

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies,

This morning was STS Disc 1-CSB. I am much weaker...gggrrr...having to drop from 20's to 15's and even 15's to 12's for some exercises. Exactly why it's time for me to hit the weights! Tonight I'm going to try to make it to the tabata class. Although I didn't really care for it last week, I think I should give it another go before I rule it out.

bbl for personals....

Hey there ladies !

Wow - seems like it has been months since I was here but actually only a week and a half or so? Went on the work trip "sales meeting" with spouses invited. Stopped at 4 other sites on the way and had a blast - Friday we went to Universal Studios in a couple of groups. Fun fun ! Stopped at two beach towns on the way back and went to Hearst Castle (William Randolf Hearst's mansion). Pretty cool place to visit. Then back a day and on the road again. Got one workout in the hotel room but then headaches for a few days. Started this week fresh with 4DS. Was soooooo missing my workouts !

Well work is crazy busy . . . totally understand Laura ;) Whenever I take off it is nuts trying to catch up - too many things happening. Anyway, worked at home last night and need to get more done tonight so no time to catch up right now.

Hope all is well with everyone - will come back for personals, hopefully tomorrow.

Toodles !

No work out y'day. Way too busy!

Leaving around 9 to head off to the ship n sail away for a week! :D

Everyone have a great week while I'm gone and no worries - I fully intend to work out while I'm gone!

Be back next Thursday!!!!

Hi Ladies,

This morning I knocked out Tabatcise and Core #1. I was exhausted when I got home last night and only did laundry. Tomorrow will either be another cardio or STS legs disc.

Wendy-Happy Cruising!!!!

Jacque-glad you had a good time on your work trip!

bbl to see what Laura and Tina are up to.

Whoa, it's been awhile since I've posted. Started Meso 3 this week. Yesterday I did plyo legs in the a.m. and XT CLB just before dinner. I have DOMS from the neck down. I haven't been on the bike since Sunday. Hopefully the rain will hold and I'll get a ride in tonight. I haven't taken a rest day since mid July, so I'm going to take this morning off.

We lost one of our beloved cat's this week, so it's been a bummer end to our summer. DS is taking it pretty hard, as it was his bed buddy. The downfall to having pets. :(

Diana, I don't know where you find all the time to fit in your workouts! Are you still enjoying the new job?

Wendy, I hope you have a great vacation! :)

Jacque, welcome back, I missed your posts. I plan on a week of 4DS after I finish STS. I haven't done it as is, wow, I can't even remember the last time.

Laura, your vacation sounds fantastic. I hope your stress levels have lowered.

LL, great job on fitting in your workouts on vacation. Have you started schooling yet? We're waiting until after Labor Day.

BBL. :)
