Damage Control 2019

I've had a busy week. I'm on call this week and had to attend some after hours issues. I'm not really ready to be on call. I'm learning a lot but still have so much to learn. My workouts went by the way side this past week. Let's see, I did something on Sunday and walked on Thursday. I was able to workout both yesterday and today. I have massage tomorrow afternoon and really need. I won't be getting an MRI unless I want to fight with the insurance and it's not worth it to me right now.

I went to the new outlet mall with a girlfriend yesterday. I scored a Columbia rain coat for $30. It will be perfect for my trip to Nova Scotia. I also bought a summer dress for $14 and light weight hoodie for the plane for $8. I was happy.

DH is starting to adjust to his hours as am I. My MIL is doing a bit better and has an appointment with a specialist this week. They will determine the course of action based on the CT scan.

I'm so sorry to about you BIL. It's hard to see family members in this state. Don't forget to take care of yourself first. Life can be very challenging at times and we need to remember to take care of ourselves too. Praying for your family.

Hope we both have a better week!

Sounds like you are very busy. Glad you made some time for some fun things. I did Cardio Leg Blast-just the weight work after work tonight. It was short and felt good. It has a nice stretch at the end, too. DH is still down seeing his brother. He went down earlier today by himself. I'm off to make dinner!

Hope you enjoyed that massage!

I'm taking Friday off so I can have a 4 day weekend. It's a struggle getting my workouts in. I worked out Monday before work, today it was around 10 or so between meetings. Not sure when I will fit it in tomorrow. Oh, we got snow last night and today. They said it was the latest snowfall in the 10 years.

Nice job with CLB. I love all the premixes which is why I can't switch to downloads only. Will you be ordering the new Step workouts? I haven't decided yet.

A four day weekend sounds great. I miss my 3 days off every other weekend...but it's not worth the job. Wed. I took a half day off and we went to Corning (city about an hour north). They have 3d mammograms there so I got that done. I did Ice kickbox before we left. Tuesday I did upper body only from HSTA (21 minutes). Today is rest and 20 min therapy core. Dan went down again to see his brother by himself. He has been having a lot of tests, but surgery is not being talked about right now. We will probably go back down Sat. to see him.

I am up 5 pounds now since starting this job-can I blame the job-probably not. I don't know what to do. Should I start tracking? Just accept it? I honestly don't think I can work out more. I'm too tired. I like my 3 day rotation and plan to stick with it. (Lower weights, upper weights, cardio, rest/core)

I am not buying the new series. I really feel a lot better with no/low impact. I'll probably pick up the low impact step when it comes out as a single.

Off to eat dinner...

Beth

How was your weekend? Any plans for the holiday? We're going to my parent's for dinner and cards later. BIL moved back home Saturday and is doing ok. He refuses to change his diet though. I'm getting back into a regular workout routine finally. Friday was legs-did STS disc 3. Saturday I did X-train Disc 1-CBS. Sunday I did Low Max premix of the first 4 rounds. Today is my rest/core day. I set my timer to 20 minutes and do what I can until it goes off. It's working for me...I don't dread it as much. Since it's a day off from work, I will probably take a walk to get my steps in and not be a total couch potato. What are you guys up to this holiday?

Beth

My crazy work schedule really messes with my normal routine. I just don't have as much energy to do a workout later in the day. I try to force myself to workout because I know how much better I feel when I do. It's been nice having a long weekend though. I'm doing BR and Cathe weights, usually RWH since they are shorter and I really like lifting heavy.

I bought some steaks that DH will be grilling this afternoon. The normal sides of potato salad, cole slaw, asperagus, salad and fresh fruit to round it out. I've been craving brownies so I'm making a small batch for dessert too.

I've decided to give WW another go. I've been tracking this week and will follow the program through June. If the scale doesn't move then I will cancel. Oh, my blood work came back good from my Physical. Slightly elevated cholesterol at 205, she said nothing to worry about. Interestingly my thyroid dosage is too high and they are lowering it. I've been on the same dosage for years. I've been doing IF for about 8 weeks now. Although I have not seen any weight loss from it, I feel so much better. My food choices have been much better, no more overeating, bloating etc.

Hope you have a great weekend with your family!

Early meeting this morning. As I was getting ready to go walk at lunch, it started raining. Heading to do RWH CST today instead. If it's nice this evening I'll try to walk a bit. I do have pedicure appt tonight so will have to see what I can get in before then.

How is your day going?

My day went well and fast. I'm just now home from work and making the transition from work to workout. I drove today since it's stormy and even came home for lunch for a change. I wish I could walk to work and get home from lunch, but you can't have everything! I was planning on STS next legs workout, but might just do Push Pull Lower body split. There is not as much equipment with that one.

Pedicure sounds nice!

Beth

It's raining again, no walk this evening. I'm also looking for a leg workout for tomorrow afternoon. I like Super Sets Lower Body Blast premix, its around 30 minutes. Depending on how much time I have, I could do an STS leg w/o. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I just did the upper body 2 set premix from Push/Pull. Yesterday was lower body 2 set premix. I checked out the SS lower body one and am glad you told me about it! I will definitely add it to my lower body options. I honestly never even saw it before.

Cardio for me tomorrow. I'll do what I feel like after work.

How is WW going?

Beth

I was able to get out and walk each day and do a couple BR w/o's. Yesterday I was sick all day and pretty much stayed in bed. Hoping I feel better today. I tracked all week and weighed in on Friday. That is what I'm using as my start weight. I've been going up and down the same 2 lbs. I'm hovering between 15 to 18 pounds over goal.

How is your weekend going?

It's been a good weekend. I worked yesterday from 8-12, then came home and did LIS TBT-legs. That workout always leaves me so sore! I think it's the balancing one legged squat move. After that we watched Liverpool win the Champion's league trophy! I did not sleep well Friday night, so went to bed early.

Today I did ICE back and chest (4 rounds each) workouts. We've got cards tonight and then the week starts again. I am staying around the same weight lately. I'm really liking my job, walking to work, doing my lower, upper, cardio, rest/core routine. I think I'll be able to work out more when I retire. I'm trying to eat less at work and not snack. Just focusing on maintaining at this point.

Hope you're feeling better. You probably needed a veg day.
Beth

My back was really sore yesterday and this morning. I think it's from laying in bed all day on Saturday and watching TV. Yesterday evening I finally went out and walked 70 minutes, but was still short on my steps. This morning I did a BR w/o and then at lunch I did some walk/run intervals. Trying to ease my way back in to running and making sure my knee doesn't start hurting. I'm hoping I can run a 5 or even a 10K on July 4th.

Oh, DS1 just heard that the girls can only come for 2 weeks. OMG, I am so pissed. They need a formal/legal visitation schedule. I feel like I want to rent a house in Oregon so I can see them more often. 2 Weeks is completely unacceptable.

Are you planning on retiring soon? If so, I'm jealous. I plan on working until I'm 67, if all goes well. You are doing awesome with your workouts!! Have a great week.

Ha Ha! I have a long way until retirement too. I'm glad to hear your knee is holding up. Maybe PT was just what it needed! I can't believe only 2 weeks that the girls can come this summer. Hopefully you can get a longer visit worked out.

I've been walking to work so far this week and today I did the step section only of the Low Impact Cardio Supersets. I did it on 3 risers for extra oomph and felt like I got a decent workout.

Beth

I'm exhausted. I worked 12.5 hours yesterday and 9.5 hours today. These early morning start times don't leave me any time for a lunch break or workout. I'm trying to talk myself into doing a workout now. The scale has not been my friend the last couple days. Probably something to do with eating a heath bar. I've been fighting my weight my entire life. Sometimes I just want too give in and be fat and lazy. Tracking my food, macros, exercise in so way is so frustrating when menopause hits and its all for not. Sorry for the pity party here, but some days are just a real struggle.

Popping back in to say after I stopped whining, I went and worked out.

You are doing great with your workouts!!! I so enjoy getting outside when I can. It just changes my whole outlook and brightens my day.

I have my WW meeting this morning. Although I did good all week, my weight is up a tad from last Friday's weigh in. Since I weigh everyday I'm used to these daily ups and downs. My workweek has been crazy busy but I only have to work 3 hours today. :)

Hope you are doing great!

I'm doing ok. DH has stated that we can't travel while I'm working because we have to be able to leave without much notice to get a good deal. Then he said we can't afford to travel after I stop working because all our money will go to pay for healthcare, taxes, etc. I am so angry. I don't know what to do.

Walked to work every day this week! So that was about 200 minutes of walking. Then I did one cardio, one lower, and one upper workout. I probably should do more weights, but am tired after work and two days all I did was my work walk. I'm still loosely following the 4 day schedule, but mix up days if I'm tired.

Today was SSSUB with abs and tomorrow I plan on doing the LITE pyramid lower body with abs.

What are your plans for the weekend? I am helping down at the town green at a children's health fair for a few hours with work, want to hit the library for a bit, do wash, and make a thai chicken salad recipe from pinch of yum. We're playing cards tonight with my parents and going to the wineries tomorrow for a day away.

Beth

Wow, sorry your DH said that. A bit dictatorial sounding to me. Why couldn't you just budget and save for travel? Just like you would for any other expense? You look for the best price that fits with your schedule. Set up a travel savings account and save for it.

I plan on working out today and hopefully going for a walk. I've been procrastinating purging stuff from the basement. I think I will tackle that today and tomorrow. I'm sick of seeing all the clutter and old stuff. We have 2 full bookcases that I want to condense down to one. One is falling apart and will need to be thrown out. I also found some old stuffed animals and kids stuff that can be donated or thrown out if in bad shape. I so want to move on to a new house. No need to wait until the last minute to get rid of all this crap. I just wish DH would help, but that is just not going to happen.

Not much going on here. The weekend was relaxing and now I'm back to work. My biggest frustration is my weight gain. I'm trying IF again this week and only eating between noon and 8PM. So far so good, but it's only Tuesday! I'm going to give it a solid month and see if anything happens.

Did you get a lot of decluttering done?!

Beth

This is a busy work week for me. I will be working overnight on Friday to do system patching. Then I'm primary on call next week. Stuff always breaks after patching. I'm a little nervous about being on call. I am getting a workout in each day and walking outside if it's nice. I don't like that my days can start as early as 6am or as late as 9am. I really like the 9-6 schedule, it works well for me. This new position has be hopping all over the place. I did RWH CST on Sunday and will probably do legs today.

I've been intermittent fasting for a couple months now. This methodology has really helped eliminate my obsession with food and overeating. I joined a FB group called Delay, Don't Deny and also bought the book by the same name. My weight has just started moving down the tiniest little bit. I feel so much better and there is so much more going on inside your body that is not reflected on the scale. I follow the 16:8 and my window is 11-7 and sometimes 12-8. Some folks follow a one meal a day known as OMAD. I'm not sure I could do that.

No, I didn't get much done on the purging front. I'm just not motivated. It would be so much easier if I knew we were ever going to move.

Hope you have a fab week!
