Good morning ladies. My glutes are a bit sore from PS standing legs yesterday!! My legs have recovered quite well from the marathon. Today I'm doing PUB shoulders, tris and bis and some Plyometrics before a 5 mile run!

Wendy....sorry about your DH's silly comment. They can be so insensitive sometimes...my DH is also a great guy but there are times. I run alot of local races here, and there will always be the elite runners that I will never get close too. I have a much better chance at placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in my division when they don't show...:+ :) So, when I get home from a run (he rarely goes, as he isn't a runner), he asks how I did, if I say 2nd or 3rd the first thing he says is "How far from 1st were you?" instead of what I want to hear "Carole, you did great!" So life goes on.....:7

Hey Jes....I have a nice massage shceduled for next Tuesday!!!:+ :D ;)

enjoy the workouts ladies....:)...Carole

So sorry we must have posted at the same time.

I will be doing SH Shoulders and Cardio from 10-10-10.

Laurie Mac

Hey ladies!

Carole, you blow my mind! where do you get all this energy from??? Hey, have you got any secrets on what to do for sore legs or do ya just get a massage (every freakin week!!!!?) Seriously, i do want to know if you have any tips besides stretching, advil and hot soaks and although i am jealous, you HAVE earned a massage. Maybe i'll get one next week! Good idea.

Laurie: hey girl! i don't have either of those workouts but i have heard that they are good!

I am doing BC today and i am dreading it b/c my leags are dead for anyone who didn't read all posts on yesterday's thread. thoses "terminator climbers" probably gonna get modified a bit}(

Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies!

Got Power Max ready for tonight. That will be fun...I am still in the learning phase for some of it though so there may be some re-playing of certain moves going on. lol

Sanda-Did SF's stretch segment last night. You are right, it is a goody! TY! Also, I have definately taken note of your advice on how to approach All Step and I WILL definately be listening to it! Should save me some frustration! TY again.

Have a great work out!

Good morning!

Well! I'm very pleased! I did KPC and SH Legs this morning, and it felt great!!! I modified KPC by just overall keeping my exertions between 60-80%, which meant essentially just not putting as much "oompfh" into the moves. I gotta say - it's really fun when you're not trying to knock yourself out! I also substituted light shuffles for the "jump roping" to protect my pelvic floor muscles, which are feeling weaker right now. I lowered my weight in SH Legs by 5-10 pounds, so my heartrate wouldn't sky rocket, as it usually does. This allowed me to focus on my form, and I really think I got a great workout, even without the heavy weight. So overall I feel like I got a really thorough advanced workout, but am not exhausted from it. KPC is a great workout for being able to be done at different levels, depending on what you want to put into it.

Laurie Mac - glad you noticed the second check in thread. You appear to be doing a SH rotation this week, too! 10-10-10, ugh! It's an intense little workout, but possibly my least fav of the CTX series. The double ricochets are very tricky, and I'm not sure I do them very well. Do you like them?

Katie - I love the name Madison! Do you call her Maddie? That's really nice that your birthdays are one day apart; she'll never forget your birthday! What are your plans for her party? Small? Big? Your own birthday plans sound really nice, too. Is this the first time you've spent an entire night away from her?

Lisa - I would hardly say 42 is old! It's only 7 years older than me, so you're still a spring chicken. Hmmmm. 7 years older than me, your child is 20, mine is 4 1/2. My, peoples' lives take entirely different paths, don't they?

Wendybdh - you mentioned doing the Tammilee workout in the morning. I thought you didn't workout in the mornings? Are you starting to change things up a bit?

Sandy - Yesterday I meant to say (but didn't) that I did the yogazone workouts for you, because you were so nice about getting sick for me. I thought it was a fair trade :) And? Did you do them? Am I right, or am I right?

Jes - if bad fashion taste is all you're after, then I've gone through my share of questionable styles. Probably the goofiest was when I had my hair done like Sabrina's on Charlie's Angels. At one point she had a hairdo that looked like on of those Russian fur hats; straight and flat on the top, parted down the centre, then really tight curls around the sides of the head. I was in about grade 2 or 3 when she did that. I got a perm around the sides of my head, but not on top, so I could look like her. At the time it was very hot stuff, but now I think it's just a ridiculous hair style! Sorry, but this is the best I can do. Sandy's hair incident sounds much more hilarious. What are you going to do with dead legs? Why, BootCamp, of course! Cathe purposely put this week's workouts in this order because she knew your legs would be dead by now - and she's challenging you to kick it up a notch. This is a really effective rotation for increasing your endurance, but of course you're smart enough to know your own limits and not push yourself into an unsafe zone. And when you think about it, there's only 10 minutes of cardio in the workout, and "you can do anything for a minute!" I've decided to respond to personal emails in the evenings, because it was cutting too much into my work time.

Marla G - CW and half of IMAX2 is a great workout! Jes's original hair story was posted on the open discussion forum, not on the daily check in. Somehow it crept over here.

Oh Carole!!! I would definitely want to strangle my husband if he asked me that kind of question after a race! What is it about men and their need to be so competitive with others?

Wendymin72 - oh, good, I'm glad to hear you like the SF stretching. There's nothing like a good stretch, is there? Enjoy PowerMax tonight!

I'm going to the doctors' this morning to find out why my fingertips have suddenly started going numb more often, and in more than just my one fingertip. I think it might be related to increased amounts of estrogen, but want to get a medical opinion. Then I have to go grocery shopping. The temp right now is -25C, with a -40C windchill. I'd much rather stay here in my cozy fleece pajammas and goof away the morning on the internet. Oh well, such is the life of a grown-up.

Take care!
Sandra

WOW!! Sandra, that must have been a killer of a workout even without all the oomph put into it.

I did PS Shoulders, Pyramid Upper Body shoulders, then did PLB floorwork (no stability just using the step) then did Leg extensions and raises off of Legs & Glutes then abs from PSSL&A!! All in all a 50 min. work out with warm up from PSCS&T and cool down from PSSL&A!:) Nice workout, just needed a change from squats and lunges and those leg press' on PLB really burn me out from the beginning of the workout!!

Hope you all have a great day!!:D

Now Sandra, that was a perfectly appropriate hair story and i have been appeased. Was that so hard? Very funny! Great mental picture! Got any real ones? Great job modifying! Be sure and report back to let us know what the doc says!

btw, it's 79 degrees here! i'll send you some heat!!!

Hi Ladies,

I did PUB this morning and will be running 5 miles this evening.
Have a good day.

Josie

Hi good morning I will post my message here too. Today is bootcamp for me too. I love this workout. I have bootcamp two times during this week and that´s one of the reason why I have chosen this rotation. I am agree with BFj. Everybody is different. I don't have a husband or children and I can train during 2 hours each day. I am a lucky woman.I am in the day 1 week 3 of my rotation . I know it is my second rotation in two months but I can not believe I have lost weight during the Cristhmas's holidays. Can you believe it? . My pant are looser and I feel my legs and butt tigher. I think it is going to help you to work hard.

Hi Everyone,

Nice workouts ladies!

This morning was Bootcamp. I just love that workout.

Carole- You are so right-there are times when even a great guy can be oblivious to his surroundings and the needs of his wife:) In fact, are you sure we're not married to the same man?

Jes- I know what you mean about the Terminator Climbers - I think the one's I did after the jumps were pretty weak.

Sandra- I workout every morning at 5:45 am. I also do evening workouts quite a bit lately since I've had time. Let us know what you hear from your MD.

Well, I'm making stuffed green peppers for dinner so I need to get them ready so DH can put them in the oven later. Hey Sandra, this is one way to avoid the fattening meals he makes- He doesn't seem to mind either:)

Bye, Wendy

Hello all! i finished BC and ME abs added on. I survived...barely. my legs weren't as tired as i thought they would be! Is it Sunday yet?

jes

Hi again! Back from my busy morning.

Annette - you're calling my workout a killer? That's funny! Yours would knock me over dead! I appreciate the comment, though :)

Jes - glad you approved of my hair story. If pictures exist of that particular phase of my life, they are acrossed the country in my mother's attic, and will not be resurrected for your sordid amusement :) Thank you for the heat! As I'll elaborate on in a minute, that literally is just what the doctor ordered. High-Five on the BootCamp experience! I can't believe you followed it with ME abs. Wow. And I'll bet you need a Sunday in the middle of the week - for an extra visit to the confessional. Yeah, yeah, don't try and tell me you ain't done nothin'.

Mariángeles - Hi! I noticed that you haven't posted with us a bit. Glad to see that you're seeing such great results from your rotations, and that you lost weight over the holidays!!! Wonderful!

Wendybdh - DOH DOH DOH!!!! YES I knew that you worked out at 5:45am! Haven't we talked about it - at least twice??? I plead brain-freeze from this cold weather. And I think that's a stellar way to get around the he-cooks-unhealthy-food-but-at-least-he-cooks dilemma! Do you have a crock pot? That would be ideal, too, as you could get it all ready the night before and turn it on in the morning before you go to work.

The doctor figures that I have Raynaud's Disease/Phenomena. I've attached a link to a website that describes it really well, for anyone who is really curious (yes, of course I immediately researched the disease on the internet as soon as I got home :)

http://community.healthgate.com/GetContent.asp?iteid=ehosp&docid=/dci/raynauds

Doc doesn't think I have the form that is brought on by other underlying conditions because she said that with pregnancy my symptoms would most likely get better, not worse. In pregnancy, the autoimmune system closes down a bit, so all those autoimmune problems generally lessen or even go away. Pregnany *may* actually be exacerbating the situation because of the increased estrogen levels. I gave some blood samples which they are checking to determine whether there is anything underlying my problem. If not, then it's a pretty benign condition, as long as I don't find my fingertips turning blue. I have to go get a really, really good pair of mittens/gloves and boots. I checked out the "underlying diseases" that are listed on that webpage, and can't say that any of them ring true for me. I suppose it's possible that I have carpal tunnel syndrome due to all my typing (REALLY????), but I imagine I would feel other symptoms, wouldn't I? Yes, my wrists and fingers do get tired, but I don't get any pain and things don't look swollen.

Now why couldn't I develop a useful benign condition, like vaccuum-itis?? I can't think of one way in which this condition will get me out of doing anything.

Between this, my TMJ, and my nevus dysplasia syndrome, I'm just a bundle of unspecific symptoms!! It's a wonder I can even function!

If my fingertips go numb after typing all this, I will blame you guys for being so interesting to talk to, that I'm killing the nerves in my wrists. Oh, the things I do in the name of friendship and support :)

Cheers,
Symptomatic Sandra

Sandra: confession? you must have lost your mind! i deny nothing and i regret nothing! Great way to live!}( i am so pleased that your fingers are not going to fall off! That is quite odd though! May i suggest that you get that apparatus that allows you to dictate to your computer, so that you don't have to type as much or at all? we would refuse to give up your stellar advice and commentary due to the simple loss of your fingers! :p Girl, i love ya! Btw, i spoke with your mother and she is fed-x-ing the pics! Lovely woman!

I would also like to say that if you are in need of assistance with the cleaning of your abode, i will gladly come vacuum in exchange for the experience of your weather conditions and poridge. I will be there as soon as Sandy comes here from NJ and helps me paint my house. :7

Later!

jes

Hi all! Late check in for me today. Well, I didn't work out today because I came down with the cold my daughter had (minus the ear infection, so I feel really cruddy. We'll see how I feel tomorrow, but I can feel it moving into my chest. This is just not my month!

Sandra - We are having a birthday party for Madison on Sunday with family and friends. Nothing too big. I can't believe she's 1 already.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Hello ladies:

Today I did CTX All Step (cardio only) and the 12 minute kickbox section of CTX Power Circuit.

Jes: 79 degrees!! We had such a cool summer this year, that it struggled to be that warm many days in July and August!

Sandra: Don't fall apart on us! your posts are now an essential daily read!

Until next time...

susan

Good evening ladies,

Today I went to the gym and did a 60 min workout. Bicep, tricep, and shoulders. (The gym workouts I am doing were taken from a Cathe post that was given a while back) I am very happy with the results I'm getting:) :D :)

Wendy, ya know sometimes guys are just plain dumb! but, I sincerely don't think they mean to be. I have trained my husband very well. He now knows "what not to say":) .....and if he ever slips up I just say "nope, wrong answer!" Trying very hard to teach my son the 'ropes'. This past summer was the first time he had ever had a serious girlfriend. It was soooooo funny, she had him going in circles!!! They broke up after about 5 months and his comment was "that was really hard, I don't know if I want another girlfriend"

Jes, when you stated the temperature, I had to look and see where you are. I lived in Houston for two years. Texas is a great state.

Sandra, glad you have no serious ailments. Do keep those fingers healthy as I love reading your posts. And yes, that is a huge difference in the ages of our children (although mine, I suppose, is no longer a child). I would love to have a little one around again; but, just don't think I'm up for the challenge}( I'll wait for the grandkids....although, I'm certainly not old enough for that yet!!! I've told Lloyd (my son) that he can't get married until he is 30 so by that time, I'll be ready;-)

Have a great evening

Lisa- So it looks like I still have some training to put him through huh. We've been together for 13 years but obviously it's gonna take much more than that:) I like your sons comment- I feel the same way sometimes "That was really hard, when he's gone I don't know if I want another husband." I think I'll just find another woman who wants to workout, and likes to chat and doesn't say stupid stuff. Heck, I guess all I really need are these forums.:)

Sandra, I'm sorry to hear about your illness but thankful it's nothing too serious. Susan is right though. These forums need you so I hope you can type with your nose just in case.:)

Well, a friend conned me into playing volleyball. I wanted to learn some more of my Christi Taylor Solid Gold Step tape but I guess that will have to wait. At least I'm still getting in a workout.

Have a great night, Wendy

Hi Everyone!

I am soooooooooooooo happy because I am FINALLY BACK in saddle so to speak!!! I actually worked out today and completed BC today...WOO HOO!! Since I don't have any of you to high five, I have to high five myself..lol! What makes me even happier is that I set out to do just half of BC to ease myself in and I ended up doing it all...of course from the middle on I had to modify here and there as I was feeling like I was gonna pass out in the middle of the squat thrust climbers in cycle 5!!x( So I brought it down a notch. BUt I made sure to complete every last oblique twist in cycle 8 which made me kind of dizzy but that was ok because I was already on the floor so if i had to pass out I didn't have far to fall.:+ }( I'm a very happy girl now!

Carole, what a workout, wow!!

Mariangeles, sooo happy to see you back on the forums!! We missed you a lot:7 !!

Annette, great workout!

Katie, I hope you feel better soon, sorry to hear about your cold:-(

Dear Symptomatic Sandra, thank you for doing the yoga for me as I never did those workouts myself (I blame Jes for not doing my yogazone last night because she was so damn chatty and extra insane}( }( ) Hey it's the least you could do for me after I got so sick for you, LOL!!! Yes I agree with everyone your posts are now absolutely essential to this thread so even if you have to go buy that equipment that lets you dictate your messages, then you will just have to do it:7 }( ! We are certainly not going to let you get away that easily!! Seriously I do hope you get some relief soon, thankfully it's nothing to be really super worried over. BTW glad my hair disaster story made you laugh!!

Jes, of course I will come down to help you paint...as soon as you come up here and bring your 79degree weather with you }( :7 :7 Then after we finish painting we will fly up to vacuum for Sandra and then I will make my famous Apple Martinis and Malibu Bay Breezes(virgin for Sandra of course, hee hee!). I think that works pretty well, don't you?? Ok now deny nothing and regret nothing....see this all ties in with your particular brand of insanity that we discussed yesterday.....all this denial, tsk tsk you are just becoming the queen of denial aren't you??:p }( }( LOL!!

Wonderful workouts everyone! Keep up the inspiring work!
