Good Morning,

This morning I am a bit tired so I only did CTX biceps and about 15 minutes of CTX kickbox. VERY unlike me to not finish a workout but I just didn't have it in me.x(

Maybe I'll make it up later.

Enjoy your workouts everyone,
Wendy

Good morning all,

Today is MIC on the rotation but I don't have it...I was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestions on what I could do in place of it? I am already soooo incredibly sore from BC last night and I'm thinking it's probably because I haven't worked out at all in almost a whole week because I don't normally get this sore. If this continues I will be crawling home tonight:eek: !!

Wendybdh, hope your energy level rises later today! Hey at least you did something...you didn't blow off your whole workout!!

Have a great day!

Morning all! I had to sit this one out again today because my cold has moved into my chest. I hate the feeling of waking up and feeling like an elephant is sitting on your chest. Does it count that I'm sitting on my couch watching Kick, Punch and Crunch on FitTV this morning?:7
The good news is that this cold is progressing quickly, so I probably won't have to cancel any Birthday plans.

Sandy - I haven't done BC in several weeks, so I am terrified to pick it up again. I'm afraid it will kill me.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Good Morning all!

I plan on doing some kind of total body conditioning with weights tonight....Might be a good time to try CTX upper body split! Will kick in about 30 mins of cardio if I'm up for it. I'm not gonna push it though as today is supposed to be my rest day but I will not have time to work out tmrw so I am switching up my plan a little to make it work for me.:)

Have a great work out!

~Wendy~

Katie! You know if you modify BC it really isn't all that bad, trust me!! If so I probably wouldn't be here typing this at all, I'd be in a body cast!! This after not working out an entire week so i was pretty scared myself but I survived:7 :7 !!

I hope you feel a lot better really soon so you can enjoy your party as well as Madison's (just love that name!!).

Jes...you are so funny! Now seriously my last massage was 3 weeks ago...:)..for sore legs depending on where exactly I have used a very hot sports cream and iced when the pain is real bad but usually DOMS will go away soon! When your legs get sore alot...take some breaks and try not to kill yourself! 79 degrees? Come on over, it was 28 here this morning...:)

Sandra...I'm curious as to what weight you use in S&H Legs? I'm doing that today. Sorry to hear about your numb fingers...So true we would all be devastated if you could not type and give us great stories and advice!!!

Wendy....I have a client that believes our DH's are brothers! But your DH is quite a bit younger than mine, so probably not the same man...:)...Hey, how did volleyball go? I used to play alot....many,many moons ago.

For all of you that competed BOOTCAMP yesterday....Way to go girls!!!!

Sandy....either of the Imaxes are kinda similar to MIC, but any of the step workouts would be a good substitution!

I'm doing S&H Legs, PUB abs, some back and chest work and hoping to do a 12 mile run....enjoy the day ladies....:)...Carole

Hi good morning everybody. Wendy I think a nap will make you feel better.Hi Sandy you can substitute MIC with the ctx workouts, circuit max or 5 intervals of IMAX 1 or IMAX 2 and the hi/low of SJP. Hope this helps. Katie you hope you will feel better soon. When is your birthday? . You can use ME or PH too. Have a great rest day tomorrow. Today for me is cardio of choice. I will do RS. Have a great day everybody.

Good morning!

This morning I did Step & Intervals (cardio & stretch) followed by SH Triceps. I was feeling pretty dozy this morning, and the only thing that actually got me started with the workout was 100% habit. I went through all the motions of getting ready, without my brain turning on until part way into the cardio. My modifications today were just to keep things at a comfortable level, so I did the jumps, etc., but didn't give them as much power as I usually do. I did the plyo jacks and airborne jumps in the first interval, but didn't squat as deep or jump as high. I did the talk test throughout the entire interval section by repeating everything Cathe said, and managed to stay within an acceptable exertion level. So far so good!

PG update: Even though the temps this morning were -33C, I woke up in a puddle of sweat. I think I'm getting hot flashes. I'm also constipated, but have to pee frequently, but I don't know if anyone really wants to know that. Just trying to "keep it real" :)

Jes - deny nothing and regret nothing! Great motto! Love it! I was thinking of making some smart-alec remark about how my mother died 4 years ago, but thought that was a bit cruel. DD is suddenly asking to see pictures of me and DH when we were little kids, so I'm actually asking my mother to bring some when she comes to visit next month. If there's a "Sabrina" pic in the bunch, I'll scan it for you. Do you have a burnt-head pic??? I actually have a verbal software program (DragonSpeak). I haven't used it in ages, but I think it might not be a bad a idea to start using it again. Since I know you and Sandy will be visiting immanently, I will stop all vaccuuming. Thank you so much!

Katie - feel better soon, please! I don't know how you can just sit still when there's a Cathe workout on tv! Oh yeah.......there's that little matter of the elephant on your chest. Shoo! Shoo shoo!

Lisa - Yes, I can see how you wouldn't want another little one around again. As our first daughter has gotten older, our desire to go back to those baby/toddler days was beginning to wane. We were pretty much on our last attempt, so this one got in just under the wire. I have a friend who was a grandmother by age 35. She had her first at age 16, and that daughter had her first when she was 17. Can't imagine!

Wendybdh - Yes, we are here for you when you need to ask questions that confound the male species. And it is a given that at the end of every response to your question is the statement: "You deserve some chocolate." :) Type with my nose?? LOL! My mother suggested that it couldn't be the result of carpal tunnel syndrome, since the bottoms of my feet wouldn't also go numb, like they did on Tuesday. That cracked me up, because I can't believe I overlooked that logical conclusion, but then I asked her what made her think that I don't type with my toes when my fingers get tired? Very good that you listened to your body this morning, btw, and took it easier. Maybe you'll have more energy tonight. How was the volleyball?? Is that what tired you out so much?

Sandy - serious high-five to you for doing BC, no matter how much you had to modify! A sub for MIC that you could do would be a SB/SJP combo that runs approximately 70 mins long, includes all the SJP hi/lo, and the SB Challenge at the very end. I'm not sure, but there might be a premix that alternates the SB combos, the SJP hi/lo segments, then finishes with the Blast Challenge. If there isn't, then you could easily program it, or use the mix'n match menu. It should approximate 70 mins. However, if you are still feeling poorly from your illness, then doing whatever level of a workout that you can do would be the best thing.

I'm not sure yet whether my "phonomenon" is actually serious or not; I'm waiting to hear about the blood tests. But even if it is something that has long-term implications, well, I didn't expect to get through life scott-free. Few people do. I'm actually very excited about having a necessary reason to go to Mountain Equipment Coop and dropping a lot of money on a spectacular pair of boots! And obviously a Mexican vacation is going to be a prerequisite every winter; it's for the good of my health!!

Nicollette - what is the Tortoise and the Hare? Does the Firm have a set of workouts that vaciliate between short, high intensity and long, lower intensity?

Wendymin72 - sounds like a very challenging workout planned for today! Have you done the CTX weight work before? It doesn't leave a muscles untouched, I think! Excellent stuff.

Thank you to the kind and thoughtful people who encouraged me to continue posting. Those are some of the nicest compliments I have ever received! I shall print those out and show them to my DH as proof that some people actually find me interesting :)

The nicest compliment I ever received was when my 4 1/2 year old daughter told me that she really liked what I'd cooked for dinner, and could I please make it again some day? No amount of "Honey, you *don't* look fat in those pants" will ever come close to matching that one!. Anyone who's ever tried to feed a picky child will understand this :)

Have a good day, everyone!
Sandra

Hello everyone,

This morning was L&G along with RS. I could not complete RS b/c I had to get ready for work.

Really looking forward for the weekend b/c this way I can work out twic a day. Man how I miss that.

Morning Everyone,

I will be doing SH Chest & Back tonight.

Sandra, I like 10-10-10, but you are right those double ricochets always make me think too hard. I have to remember to go forward instead of backwards on the step. The one that always gets me is the mambo on the board right after.x( I don't know why I always get confused on that one. Don't give up typing, between you and jes I wouln't have a good laugh at work all day long.:D

Lisa, I'm 41 and 42 in August. I know I'm not old, I have a standing appointment to cover the gray. So if I don't look old and don't feel old I am not old.}( At least that is what I keep telling myself. But my DD's keep reminding me. They keep asking about what it was like when I was little. They just don't comprehend what black & white TV was like.

Happy exercising everyone
Laurie Mac

Hi Carole,

We were simultaneously typing today. Just saw your post after I submitted my own. I'm not sure if you're interested in the pregnant or non-pregnant weights, but I'll post both. It can probably go without saying that the lower amount is what I used y-day; the higher amounts are more typical :)

front-lunge pre-exhaust: 2 x 10lb (same)
squats: 55lb (45lb)
back-lunge pre-exhaust: 2 x 10lb (same)
lunges: 50lb (45lb)
side-lunge pre-exhaust: 15lb (12lb)
plie squats: 45lb (40lb)
calf-raisies: 2 x 20lb (2 x 15lb)

I'd like to increase the first squats by 5-10lbs, but then wouldn't be able to safely lift the barbell over my head. I guess I could always go heavier with the pre-exhaust sets. How does this compare with what you do? Enjoy your workout today!! Of course, I didn't follow my SH Leg workout with a 12 mile run!!! Impressive! And thank you for your kind words. :)

Sandra

Sandra, your pregnant weights where what I was doing last night for SH Legs.x( And I'm not pg. I was just thinking last night that things where getting easier and I should up the weights. Now I have a goal, lift more weight than a pregnant worman. :) You are now my inspiration.

Laurie Mac

LMAO!! Laurie Mac, I hereby throw the gauntlet directly in front of your wimpy barbell and challenge you to lift heavier next time! If you're going to try to lift heavier than me, then remember that as the months wear on, I shall also be increasing the amount of weight that I'm lifting; it will just all be on my belly, not my barbell :)

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds that transition from double-ricochet to mambo-one-the-step really tricky. When my balance starts to change, I'll definitely be modifying that whole sequence.

Cheers!
Sandra

Hi all, today is my 15th Wedding Anniversary!!! Can't believe I have been married that long!!

Anyway I did PS Triceps, Pyramid Triceps then did warm up, step portion, abs and stretch off of Body Max. Hadn't done that step routine in a looongg time and after readjusting my shoes a million times was able to finish the workout with no heel pain!!!! YIPPEE for me!!:7 :7 So despite a killer ocular migraine I managed to finish the workout!!

Have a great day!!:D :) :7

Goodmorning Angels!(in honor of Sandra's fab hair story!)

I see you have all been busy! i have just gotten my sad ass out of bed. I have had a pretty bad headache since about 5:30 yesterday evening. it won't go away. x( I would like to blame BC, but i am leaning towards sinus instead. So on the books today is MIC. this will be my first stab at it. we'll see how that goes:eek:

Sandy: sucks to be sore huh? welcome to my current world. Don't crawl home! streets are dirty and you have just become germ free!!!

Carole: has it already been 3 weeks? No way! In that case, i'm due for another one too! hot damn!}( btw, i want to ask you a few things about BFL. i am e-mailing you later ok?

Sandra: i never had a burned scalp (thank God) but it was traumatizing to go from waist-length to 1/2in long. And if it makes you feel any better, it just so happened that the expiration of my dl coincided with that lovely incident and so i had to take a picture that will be on record for the rest of time!! funny thing is i only recently got it redone. so you didn't say, can i have poridge if i come help? that is a condition you know!!! and yes, mexico. that is very near me and then i will have an excuse. besides, sandy's a vetran of mexico. she can give us a tour guide.

Katie: you're sick now too? and the baby? gggrrr i would hibernate.

great workouts ladies!

later

jes

Laurie Mac...my birthday is August 31, when is yours? Yes, I cover my gray too;-) and I don't really feel 'old' at all. What is really bad though is when my son's friends (ranging in age from 18 to 23) call me 'mom'......and I'm thinking "OH MY Goodness!" But, they always give me compliments on how nice I look...so I guess that is a good thing!?!? How old are your girls?

Katie...I've done that...watching the video when I just couldn't do it:D :D . Hope you feel better before your celebrations.

Sandy, you certainly sound like you feel better!;-)

Carole, How do you follow a workout like that up with a 12 mile run??It's no wonder you get soooo many massages:p Just kidding....great job! I'm only jealous because I have never been able to run...Just too uncoordinated!!

Sandra, do keep it real in your reports on your pregnancy...just maybe not 'THAT' real:p :+ :p

I'll be resting today....no workout...but I do plan to wax the kitchen floor....that is unless the cleaning crew will be stopping in NC before heading far north?

Have a great day..you guys are a blast!

Oh my goodness...Annette, you got your feet fixed..now your head!?! glad you were able to make it through your workout.

Have a very happy wedding anniversary!!

Lisa, You could just turn the number around and you have my birthday. August 13th. I got married at 25, first baby at 30. So my girls are 11 and 7. Their BDay's are fast approaching also. March for both. Time does fly.

Happy Aniversary Annette!

Laurie Mac

OMG, Laurie Mac! MY birthday is August 17, I got married at 24, first baby at 30, second baby 5 years later (hopefully). We are very much alike! Can you refresh my memory; where do you live?

Jes - I can tell by the tone of your post that you're definitely not feeling well this morning. Are you seriously going to attempt MIC with a migraine? I'm worried about you. Don't overdo it, please.

Lisa - so you don't want quite that many details hey? Okay, I'll remember not to talk about the overactive secretory glands, then. :)

Annette - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! Take care of that headache!

Sandra
