Cathlete
I'll just begin .......

Q: Is there a (hard/specific) skill (just as opposed to soft) that you are trying to learn or plan to learn soon?
For me, I need to learn to drive & get my driver's license in the next 4+ months. Also, I am trying to learn more about carpentry/building things.

Missy, hoping you are on the mend!!

I have tried to do some light...and I mean very light workouts the past couple of days. Yesterday I went back to the doctor and got some new over the counter things to try. The doctor thinks my cough is exacerbated by postnasal drip, so I have a nose spray and antihistamines.

Skill wise, I am always trying new techniques for stamping and card making. I'm also taking programming classes in Python and C#. Something else cool, I think, is that I'm doing a plan to read the bible in 90 days. I've never done that before. I know that's not a skill, but it's something I'm working on. So I'm always learning or trying to learn.

Good Morning ladies. Missy, I hope you're feeling better. I've had the flu and it seriously knocks you down for a while. Getting your energy back is going to take a bit, so go easy and let your body heal. Elsie, learning to drive huh? Good for you. When I was teaching my daughter, then both nephews it was exposure, exposure, exposure. Wind, rain, snow, fog, back roads, country roads, major highways. I went gray but they learned! I'll have to think about this question. I'm thinking tech stuff. I really need to learn it. I also would like to educate myself on home improvements. It's our biggest investment in life so I should know how to take care of it. Yoga is another thing I would really like to learn. It looks so relaxing and rejuvenating.....I need that!

Today was Paul Katami Hi5. Have a great day everyone.

Hi to Elsie, Missy & Peg, and all that follows....I wish I could learn to do more for myself, and knew how to do
For myself...I hate trying to find someone to help or having to ask someone, etc....I really am very clueless in
Most house, yard, etc. issues.

Hi Everyone,

Rest day for me today. I drove to ottawa and back to drop my DD and her friend at Uni.

something I am trying to learn? well - sometimes, around the house, when it comes to computers, my phone etc.. I tell my DH - don't do it for me - I need to learn myself. I underfunction in many areas of my life :(

elsie - i learned to drive at age 35 - You can do it! It's actually pretty easy if you learn on an automatic. I still don't parallel park :( but I love driving - especially on my own. good luck.

Hi ladies,

Today was another short workout: KCM TLC w/o 1 Boxing and I even stopped it a couple of minutes early as my core was just not feeling it. I think at nearly 36weeks my belly is officially getting too big for boxing and jumping about.

Missy - I really really hope you feel better at the very least before your surgery.

Elsie - I didn't learn to drive until I was 30 and here in Europe it's all stick and parallel parking It took several attempts before I passed the exam and the final try the examinator I had that time so what seems to be the problem, you're driving just fine. As far as I know I wasn't doing anything different... so I think a lot is also down to the examinator you get, unless you really mess up.

As for skills... I would love to start a blog or a web shop one day. I am not sure if I need to learn all that many new skills before I could manage, but it would take a lot of time and investment.

I would also like to learn more languages. Perhaps become fluent in Spanish rather than just understanding it as I have not used it since high school. Or learn a completely new language like Swedish seeing it's similar to Danish or German which is more like Dutch. Then again these are completely different languages so not something done overnight, but it could be fun to be fluent in more languages.

Rest day for me. Visited an older aunt of my hubby's with my hubby. Then a visit to see his sister who is having to move very quickly and we are helping.

So no workout for me.

Hey girls ....aww, thanks for the encouragement! Up till now, I lived very near subways, bus etc & I enjoy walking everywhere so didn't need a DL, but will be moving (hopefully before Feb) to a place where it would be difficult to not drive. I will admit, I am nervous! I also do not have much confidence about it. ...and yes, parallel parking looks a bit impossible to me! Loved reading about all of your learning pursuits. Henriette, I have considered opening a vintage online (shipify or etsy) shop myself!
Hey, Annette .....I would say moving is a workout! :)

Today I did a 34 minute Cardio Kickstart w-o (daily burn on youtube) & added on wall squats w leg extensions as well as some quick pilates low back work.

Not moving her yet. Just trying to see what will be needed to help her.

Hey there, Elsie you can do it, I have complete confidence that you can. And I don't even try to parallel park.
No way, I will keep looking for another place to park! The year I got my license was the first year that parallel
Parking was not part of the driving test!!! How lucky was that!!! Lucky for me, and lucky for the driving test man!

Tonight I did a 30 min step workout, and I am a bit sweaty!!!!

I always look forward to the new workouts right before Christmas (for many reasons, one being to help get me
Thru the holidays)but unless something gets happening soon, that's not looking too promising:(
Last year, I believe they had already filmed by now. Oh well.....

Everyone have a good night!

That’s too funny! I do the same thing....just keep driving around until I find a spot to park. I don’t parallel park!! Ever!!

Good thing you non-parallel parkers don't live in Europe or you would never get anywhere on time if you have to keep circling around. I guess it helps that a lot of European cars are not as big as the American cars, although SUVs and trucks etc. are becoming more and more popular, but with oil prices and taxes it's just not doable for a lot of people especially considering those cars also cost a lot more to buy.
