Morning fit women!

Still no DOMS from the GS marathon;)

Well, I went for a most disastrous run yesterday. My hips gave out on me. I think I'm just going to have to take a break from running for a while. Which really doesn't make me happy at all.x( I think I'll take a two week break and then start back in slowly and see how it feels.

Today on the schedule is MIC and biceps:)

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Fit Chicks!

I don't know what I'm doing today.... but it will involve steady state cardio and some ab work.

Shelley: I'm sorry to hear that your hip is still bothering you. Have you had it checked out by your doctor? I know that my hip was bothering me because of flat feet and over-pronating when running...orthotics and motion control shoes have really helped.

Hello to all that follow...have a great day (even though it is Monday - blech!:-( )

Hi all you fit ladies!

Shelly - Sorry to hear about your hip. Sounds like time off running is definetly in order. Tammy's dr advice sounds good.

Hi Tammy - Sure you will find the perfect workout today.

I went for a tiny run this am :) I'm a fair weather runner! I felt pretty good - but not great - never do the first time. I'm doing the Intensity series (i think) did C&W last night.

Today is the last day at my current job. Folks have been great. My send off party was wonderful. I'm going to miss a lot of the folks but with IM and email will stay in touch.

Have a great day all.

Afternoon everyone,

Haven't worked out in five days, due to the builders in my house, work, kids, household, computer problems and me painting, painting and some more painting. And clearing out the 2nd floor of my house, cause the builders will be back on Wednesday to start work there.

Not working out isn't do my mood any good, I "had a go" at a colleague this morning who tried to make me do his work.

Anyways, I'll go to my spinning class tonight and start over with week 1 of the March rotation.

Have a great day.

Shelley, so sorry you had such a bad run. Have you had your hip checked out by a PT? Maybe he/she can suggest some specific ex. that may help with the injury? Maybe drastically cutting back on the mileage?

Good Morning Ladies!

Shelley so sorry to hear about your hip. You're doing the right thing by taking some time off from running. Hope it gets better for you soon!

Sounds like you're ready to get back into the swing of things Dutchie! Have fun spinning tonight!

Hope your last day isn't too sad Robyn. I love C&W's it's such a fun workout!

Have fun with your cardio and ab work Tammy.

That's what I did. I powerwalked yesterday when the rain let up since I had no access to any of the tv's in this house and did Step Fit this morning. Tonight I'll either walk or do GS Legs.

Off to the Beyond folks. Have a great day everyone.

Happy (or Sad?) Monday, everyone -

I'm not too sure what's going to happen today. A good cardio is on tap, and I was thinking about doing BC - Everything but abs premix + cardio only premix. But last night was just awful, due to stormy weather, and I don't think I got two hours of sleep total. I'm tired. So we shall see what I feel like this evening.

Yesterday was hot and humid and rather yucky. Very hard to get adjusted to, after being in the 60s for so long. I went running and on the way back ran straight into a stiff wind. I figure that added on at least 2 more miles! ;-) Then I did GS legs and some abs. And a nice long stretch.

Shelley - I hate to say it, but you may need more than 2 weeks off. When my knee was bothering me, it took several MONTHS for it to heal, and the injury wasn't even serious. Take care of yourself.

Tammy - enjoy that cardio, whatever it may be.

Dutchie - house construction? Oh, poor you! I hope it goes quickly.

Kali - Don't you just love GS Legs?
Robyn - good luck, and have fun on that last day!!

Good morning everyone,

Shelley- take care of that hip, that is nothing to mess around with. REST!

Kali - GS legs is great, I actually think it is one of the easier leg workouts. Maybe I am ill...

Saturday was Pam Cosmi step and ab hits, Sunday was GS Chest and Triceps and Coremax 1. Now, how stupid was that? Trying to do those levitation holds after killing my chest and triceps, my arms were rubber!

Today was Christi Cardio Collectibles.

Have a good day!

Good morning,

Today is supposed to be Circuit Max, but I don't have it, so I'm doing Cardio & Weights. I haven't done it before, but I just finished previewing it, and it looks fun.

Shelley, sorry to hear about your hip and your run. Hope you feel better soon!

Robyn, have fun on your last day. You must be excited about beginning at the new place. Will you start right away, or will you take a few days to recover from the whirlwind around your exit. :)

Sounds like you had a good workout this am Kali. I think I just ordered Step Fit (I ordered Cardio Hits last night).

Tammy, I hope you enjoy whatever cardio and ab workout you choose.

Carole, is it any warmer yet? I can't imagine running in snow. The one year I lived in D.C. was the year of the blizzard (1993-1994), and all I remember about walking, besides being cold, is how slippery the ice was. It was very pretty though. Especially Rock Creek Park. It looked like how I imagined the locale in Ethan Frome would look.

Sandra, enjoy Circuit Max!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Wendy!

Dutchie, enjoy your spinning class tonight. You must really be missing your runs now. :(

Conni glad you enjoyed your workout, and Shannon, I hope you enjoy whatever you decide.

Hey there ladies!:)

Today is .... OH MY! All I have written on my schedule for today is Leaner Legs! It's like a vacation!;-)

Being the cardio junkie that I am, unless time is an issue, I am sure that I will add in cardio of some sort but all I HAVE to do today is LL...:+

Shelley, rest and listen to your body.

Tammy, let us know what cardio you do!

Robyn, have a good last day at your job today. Excited?

Dutchie, unplanned rest days really bug me too! I couldn't imagine 5 days worth though! Heck, 5 days w/o working out PLANNED would probably make me pretty fowl!}(

Kali, do GS legs tonight!}(

Shannon, sounds like you need some sleep girl!

ETA: Hi Connie and Pamela!

Morning ladies. Well, today was supposed to be HCE of choice, but since I don't have it I did SB/SJP step, hi/lo and weights premix followed by C&W abs. Boy, that workout was a killer. I didn't realize that I was going to be doing all but combo 2 of SB including the challenge (that was evil), and then all of SJP except the step section. Whew!!! I was also supposed to do 400 walking lunges, but after my 40 minute run yesterday my legs needed the break.
Now, as I've said before, I'm really not much of a runner, and my 4 mile run yesterday is the longest I've ever gone. Is it normal for your hip flexors to be sore? My hip flexors are the only part of my body sore this morning (well my abs are a little too. I love the ab workout I seem to get from running). Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that it's normal and that I'm not doing something wrong.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Good Morning Everyone!!

I'm back after being MIA for a few days. Our new grandson (8 weeks old now) got very sick and had to be rushed to Children's hospital. Turns out he had bronciolitis, pnemonia and RSV. We were up and back to the hospital since Thursday night. He finally got to come home yesterday afternoon. He is still sick but hopefully will get better every day! We really had a scare!

No real workouts during that time, but today I'm back!
I did Biceps from PH, MIC,& BM, Abs from PH & MIC and an hour of hills on the bike! It felt great. Would love to walk later if we get a break in the rain. It's in the 70's today!
:D

I didn't have time to read everyones posts, but will go back and do that later.....gotta get going now...everyone have a GREAT day!!!:D

I'm resting my doms from the MIS workout i did yesterday. Stretching seems to help a bit. I will stretch again later. Have a good workout ladies !

.Lisa

Good morning,

This morning I did Circuit Max. Always a nice little sweat fest.

Shelley - oh I'm so sorry to hear that you have to take a break from your running. I'm surprised that a workout like MIC is doable with bad hips? How does that work?

Tammy - enjoy your cardio, whatever it ends up being!

Robyn - have a GREAT last day of work!!

Dutchie - you sound like you have a good plan for getting back into a workout routine. Five days off would make me a little, er, grumpy too!

Kali - nice workout today! I like StepFit.

Shannon - BC is a tough workout on only 2 hours of sleep. Personally I'd go for NapMax :)

Conni - thanks for the warning (note to self: don't do CM1 after doing GS CT!).

Wendy - you know you've "arrived" when LL seems like a vacation workout LOL! Why are you wanting to join a gym? That would be superb if you could get your membership covered by insurance!

Pamela - I read about all the new workouts you're getting!!! Woohoo!! The only thing that sucks about owning all of Cathe's workouts is that you no longer have the joy of getting new workouts! CW is a really fun workout, and the Step-only premix is a terrific 30 minute cardio, for days when that's all you want. Enjoy!

Katie - so, the premix is a killer, is it? }( Then it sounds like the proper substitute for the HCE workouts. Like I said, I've never done that premix; maybe it's time I give it a whirl. I think it's very normal for your hip flexors to feel it during a run. They are related to your core, so it makes sense that you feel it there, too. I like the way my core works when I run - it's probably the key to really flattening the belly. I also noticed that my running improved after I'd strengthened my core.

Becky - oh my!!!! Thank heavens your grandson is feeling better. That must have been awful to see him get so sick. Your back at your workouts with a vengeance, though! Awesome workout!

Lisa - enjoy your rest day!

Jane - OMG your dinner yesterday sounded fabulous!!! Did the boyfriend appear to relish all of your efforts?

Carole - you need a head cam to attach to your forehead as you run. Then we could see what you see. It sounds beautiful.

Have a great day!
Sandra

Hi Sandra! Well, I'm not sure why, but my hips don't seem to bother me doing anything but running. Maybe it's just too much hard pounding on pavement?

Hi Sandra,

I am not going to use weight w/LL because I am currently rotationg weighted and non-weighted leg work outs...maybe THAT'S why only having LL on tap seems like a rest day!? ;)

I want to join a gym to get some variety in my training that I can't get at home...For example, I am dying to try a spin class for one, I want to have access to the cardio machines there like the treadmill, bike, elyptical and stepper and being able to change up my weight lifting routine using the machines will also be nice. :)

So, I got back from the final gym on my "tour" a little while ago and there is no way I am joining. There weren't a ton of people in the place and it was probably split fairly even between men and women but any employee I saw was a muscle head guy and any man working out was a muscle head guy...BLECH! The gym also had a very MANLY look to it...I would just feel really out of place there...if I don't think I'll feel comfortable then it's not happening...the cost wasn't bad but no thanks. I'd rather pay a little more and be happier with the environment!

ETA: I've been trying to call my health insurance all morning to get an answer on the gym question and I'm getting no where because "high call volume"...x( x( x(

I did MIS chest,back,shoulders,& abs.

Today is my birthday so I am going to bake a cake (hopefully) and enjoy it, and I promise to do an extra hard cardio workout tomorrow to work it off,LOL!!

Have a great day!!:7

Happy B'day Annette!

Becky I am so thankful that your grandson is on the mend! I can not even imagine how scarey that must've been!

I ended up doing LL w/no weights and then about 30 mins on the rebounder. My heart rate was at a nice level almost the entire work out on the rebounder...it really is a nice addition to my routine!:) It's not crazy cardio but it's fun and it DOES get your heart rate going.
