Hi everyone,

This morning I did KPC, but in a different order. I programmed my dvd player to play the chapters as follows:

warm up; intermediate drills; combos 1-3; high drills; cool-down.

Then I did the KickMax leg conditioning drills and stretch.

Connie - I really enjoyed HSCircuit yesterday. I like that workout. It makes me break a good sweat, but doesn't exhaust me. And it seems to go by really fast. Did the UPS man arrive early enough for you to give it a whirl?

Laurie - What is BodyFlow? I'm *very* disappointed about the Quebec ruling, although I'm sure Ralph is having a party. I half expected to wake up this morning and find a private clinic on every corner. I know there's a contingent of them in Alberta just waiting for the chance. Ralph is going to use to the Quebec ruling as a precedent to challenge the situation here in Alberta, I'm sure. Martin seems to be naive enough to believe that "extra" federal dollars over the next 10 years is going to solve the public health care problems at the provincial levels, but once that money leaves their hands, the provinces are able to do with it what they please. Plus, $41 million isn't close to covering the amount that they took out of the system in the 1990s. I don't trust the provincial governments (can't say I particularly trust the federal government, either. After this sponsorship scandal I'd be happy to give them the boot, but think that the alternatives are even worse).

Jane - yes, I've done the All-Step abs. For traditional crunch work, they are very good. I'm glad you're enjoying the pyramids so much! They core work in PUB is superb, IMO.

Wendy - I think it's great that you gave BS and SM a whirl today. I completely agree that BS and walking are on par, and if you can do one, you can do the other. If you're feeling up to exercise, then you should do it, IMO. Have you checked yourself for diastasis recti? Apparently you need to modify ab work, if you have one. I love the new pics you've added! You can already see a significant difference in Joey, and it's not even been a month! He's filling out really well! Very sweet!

Debbie - I'm so sorry you overdosed on your exercise fix and are paying the price. I hope your back gets better really soon!!

Carole - I like your attitude about adjusting your expectations for your leg training. There are so many ways, reasons and goals for exercising; everyone needs to find the style that works for them, and serves their personal needs. The KickMax leg conditioning drills must also be good for freestyling, then?

Emily - as I've gained pregnancy weight, I've lowered the weight I use for leg work (especially leg presses), for the same reasons you mentioned. Your own body weight makes a difference!!!

Have a great day everyone!
Sandra

thanks girls! I feel like such a doofus for pushing so hard. I get so much motivation from all of you & sometimes when you're feeling great and working it with Cathe you can get carried away. Yikes! I'm am happy to say I'm going out to buy a stability ball and heavier dumbells. Isn't that strange to excite me?? hehe. TGIF gals...

Morning all! I intended to do upper body from ME today, but my daugther barely slept at all last night, therefore neither did I, and she was up at 5:00 this morning. I'm dragging today.

Wendy - Way to go!!! I was the same way after my daughter was born. The day I went to my Dr. appt. I was on my elliptical that afternoon and it felt so good!

Have a great day and a great weekend ladies. I now have all of ME on my agenda for tomorrow since I didn't get any of it in today.

hey ladies! great workouts going on around here!

Wendy: good for you! i bet it was great to get back to it huh?! BTW, i love the pic of you and clyde in the avatar! too cute:D

Carole: have you lost inches around the legs or are they firming up?

Sandra: you are always so creative with workouts! how are you feeling?

Charlotte: you have been having a blast with mixing the music up huh? good for you! how is the garden coming along?

i am going to be doing cardio only today. haven't decided which one though. when i rearranged my workout room, i out a bigger tv in there, but the old one had a built in vcr. now, i can't do my vhs tapes and there are some i want to do, so i guess i will have to get them on DVD }( Also, i amthinking about ordering coremax, strecthmas and GS chest and tris. Chest and tris are the areas i have the hardest time getting definition, so i am going to focus on them a bit more.

have a great weekend everyone!

Jes-

Yes it felt AWESOME to work out again even though it was only Basic Step! The only thing that could have made it better was to be able to do it in YOUR work out room! :+

You've inspired me...I am going to try to find some inspirational and/or fitness related prints/pictures to put on the walls. I am also going to play with the furniture (well, what I am capable of moving anyway lol) and see if I can get a better set up to give me more floor space for aerobics and maybe a good portion of empty wall where I can hang a mirror to check my form...wish me luck!

Wendy

Hello ladies!

Yesterday I did L&G for the first time and expected to have some major DOMS today. But it wasn't too noticeable, so I was disappointed.

But today I did Step Blast and my legs were like jello pretty much through the entire workout, so I guess I achieved my desired results!

:)

I've thought the same thing- only I've got way more than 20 pounds on Cathe right now. :p I like to think of my extra weight as being helpful to me- at least with something. hehehe Not that I want to keep carrying this around with me, though. Nope, I'm working toward the day when I need to PICK UP heavier weights. ;)

I love the Pyramid workouts!!

Connie :D

What a cool and creative workout, Sandra! Kudos! I watched KPC while recording it from FitTV the other day- I'm looking forward to tryin it. I'm already thinking that I want to add that to my Wish list. hehe

No UPS packages for me yesterday. :( It's scheduled to come today- there was some kind of delay. It really worked out ok because I was having major cramps yesterday and decided it was probably best to take the day off. I'm glad I did, and now I'm ready to rock! :)

You asked me yesterday about the high step---no, I don't have one. I have a Fanny Lifter though. I'm going to try out HSC with it, and if I don't feel comfortable with it, I'm going to seel my FannyLifter on ebay and put the money towards a high step.

Take care,
Connie :D

Connie-Sorry your package didn't arrive. Waiting for cathe workouts can be so hard.

Wendy- What a lovely family you have! Joey is just so cute and you look great!

I am not sure what workouts I will do today. I am weak from not feeling well last night. I have a very busy weekend and I don't want to go feeling like crap. But if I don't workout I will go feeling FAT and yukky! I hate when I feel like I can't workout. My friend say's I probably need a rest day but she is not the fitness freak I am. Rest days make me feel so guilty! Ok I am done whining. Thanks for listening. Any advice?

Terri

Hi Fit Ladies,

I did 53 min. of Chest, Back and Abs today using PUB, PS and MIS for abs. It was a nice workout and to beat all I was down a pound this morning. It is either the heat causing me not to want to eat or the fact that I changed my workout routine this week or a combination of them both.:D Anyway it was nice to see the scale go in the right direction for a change,:) . I honestly have come to terms with my weight being what it is, I will never be able to stay smaller, for me it takes too much thinking about what I eat and NO splurging at all to maintain at a lower weight.:( I honestly don't look my weight and I can fit into a size 12 some 14's depending on the style and at this weight most women (non exercisers) would be in a 16/18 so its not soo bad really!!:+ :p :)

Have a great day!!:D

Annette, What a great attitude you have and a very postitive one! I just wanted to tell you that is awesome :)

Terri

Sandra, reading your reconfigured KPC got me yearning for my BB DVDs (OMG, too many acronyms) the possiblilities are virtually endless!

I was sitting here nodding as I read your comments on yesterday's ruling. It sounds like were on the same side of the fence, although; I do have a tendency to sit on the fence with some other issues. I have great faith in our system, sure it ain't perfect and may not work well for buddy in the emergency waiting room with a severley sprained ankle but for critical care it does work, I saw this clearly with my DH and now with my MIL. I tried to watch the second half of The National last night and found the first 10 minutes interesting but alas Peter Mansbridge's voice put me to sleep:p

About your other question, if you put Tai chi, yoga and pilates in a blender you would come out with BodyFlow. It's a 1 hour class using elements of all these disciplines and weaving them together with movement and breath. I pooh poohed it at first because my background was Sivanada yoga (I was a snob which is soooo not yoga) but they offered it at GoodLife (the gym I attended) and I became a regular, I trained 2 years ago and absolutely love teaching it, not to mention what it has done for my lean muscle mass and flexibility. I was doing some serious birthing squats in the garden about an hour ago:+ Are you still doing your yoga on Sunday mornings?

Take Care
Laurie:)

Snadra inspired me to mix it up, so i did SJP w/u (the only part of that workout i like:p ) the SB challenge (that is HARD!!!) then combo 3 and then PUB abs. Phew!

jes:)

How on earth do you ladies work out more than once a day? I envy you all that time! On weekends, I MAKE time for a good 2 1/2 hr workout, but man, during the week, it's just not possible. Those of you that can are so lucky!

My workout is done. Finally I have done KPC,the power drills of CK and one TAEBO basic live workout.Tomoorow I have in my rotation legs and glutes. See you tomorrow.

Just finished my workout.

PUB and Step Heat. I have done Mega Step Blast but not Step Heat. I also have Step Jam that I haven't tried. I liked Step Heat, it gives you a good workout but doesn't fry you brain like some of her other step workouts do.

Also, need some feedback on PUB. I wore my HRM and my average HR was only 93 and Max 124. It said I only burned 196 calories. Does this sound right? I matched Cathe's weights except for when she picked up those 15-pounders for biceps work... I thought "not in this life-time!!!" I forgot to strap on the HRM when I did PLB the other day so this is the first strength workout I've done with the HRM.

Hi Jane,

I did Step Heat today, too! It was my first time doing it. I watched it once first, and I have to admit I was thinking that it looked a bit easier than I hoped it would be. Then I did the work out. Whoa! It's perfect for me right now, and I really enjoyed it!

I haven't worn my HRM during any weight workouts for quite awhile. As I recall, my HR didn't get elevated very much during upper body strength. Hope you get the answer to your question.

Connie :D

Thank you, Terri! ;) It came today though, and I've already broke it in. I did Step Heat late this afternoon...I really like it. :)

I'm not thrilled about taking a day of rest each week, but I force myself to go through with it each week because I know if I don't I'll be pushing myself too hard for too long. I don't want to end up spraining my ankle or pulling a muscle. I try really hard to think of rest as a very important part of my overall fitness. That helps some. Still, rest days feel odd to me.

Connie :D
