Daily Check-in for Friday, March 30, 2007

BelovedHeather

Cathlete
Good morning. Well, it is morning anyway. I am finally realizing that I am just not cut out for recovery weeks. This is my third or fourth attempt at one, and I am battling the blues again. :-( I am having Cathe withdrawals. I am such an intense cardio junkie! I have not been sleeping well this week. After eating clean for 12 weeks, I went out with a friend Wednesday night and enjoyed my first restaurant meal of 2007. It was yummy. I ate a small bowl of cheesy potato soup and a corn bread muffin from Cotton Patch with a glass of sweet tea. :9 The portion size was not over the top, but I still woke up with a food hangover yesterday morning. Ugh! Sodium is not my friend. I am sure the scale is not my friend either this week.

I have not been totally sedentary this week. I have been doing TLTs and old FIRM workouts. I did Better Burn Better Buns Sunday, the Hare Monday, and Cardio Burn Tuesday. I was planning to do Maximum Cardio Wednesday, but I woke up at 2:00 a.m. and took a nap during my workout time. After dinner with my friend Wednesday night, I was too tired to move. I did Jen Carman’s segments of Better Body and Buns yesterday morning and fast forwarded through the rest. I am enjoying these workouts for a refreshing change of pace, but I am missing my Cathe endorphin high!

I booked my flights for the Road Trip. I will be flying first class on miles, so I am excited. :7 I am good to go. I just need to start training! ;-)

I am so glad it is Friday. After another restless night, I am looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully, I can enjoy some long naps and get my sleep schedule back on track. I am not sure if I want to start my Cathe rotation next week or wait until Easter. I have a full week ahead of me and may go to the club and jog in the pool instead. After sleeping 3-4 hours a night this week, I do not have enough energy for Cathe this morning or I would pull out Rhythmic Step just to shake these blues. I am hoping to have enough energy to get through Maximum Cardio later this morning. I am actually sleepy now, so I may take a nap instead.

Tammy, thank you for asking about me yesterday. I was climbing Mount Cabot and did not have time to check-in. LOL! :7

Annette, congratulations on the new job. What an answer to prayer!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Good morning Heather and all that follow....

Heather - I hope you start sleeping better soon. I know how it feels to go night after night with only a few hours of sleep (I went through this about 2 or 3 years ago) and it is not fun. I wanted to tell you (since you are and I are chocolate junkies), I bought a large bar of the new Hershey Cacao Reserve, dark chocolate.:9 :9 Oh, it's in the gun cabinet!:p :+

Annette - I'm so glad you got that job!! I could just hear the lessening of anxiety in your posts.

Hello to everyone else!

Today is a 40 minute cycle ride but I don't have a bike so it is Coach Sean time on my treadmill. I might try that 20 min iTrain w/o I downloaded and then go into a shorter CC after. I'd like to try the iTrain though I know it won't even compare to Coach Cutiepie!:*

Have a good one!

Good Morning!

Heather, LOL about Mount Cabot! Hope you enjoyed. The sleep deprivation sounds terrible - hope it improves.

Jane, have fun with Coach Sean. I don't have a treadmill, but if I did I would have to check him out! Did you have trouble with the arrowhead smilie? Go to www.smileyhut.com/silly/arrowhead, and maybe you'll have better luck!

B&G for me today. I didn't do the abs as I worked them yesterday. Tomorrw is a rest day for me, so I don't have to worry about working through DOMS. :)

Daily Check-in

Jane, step away from the gun safe! :7 Hershey is making a new special reserve dark chocolate bar? Why didn’t I get this memo? ;-) Forget the morning workout! It is time for a chocolate run! :7 I love dark chocolate. :9

Phyllis, your comment the other day about reserving a hotel room for my shoes cracked me up! :7

The sleepless nights will end as soon as I return to my Cathe workouts. This happens every time I attempt a recovery week. :-( I am addicted to Cathe, I tell ya! ;-)

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Daily Check-in

Good Morning Everyone.

I'm tired this morning. I went to bed around 9:15 last night which is great and fell asleep but w/in about 15 mins the dog woke me up cause he started barking his fool head off when DH came home. I didn't fall back to sleep until almost midnight after that. Now I'm tired. x( I hate when that happens.

Today is Legs and Back/ARX for me.

Heather: If you can't deal with full rest weeks maybe you can day a few extra rest days in a row here and there. It's better then nothing. Congrats on booking your flight for the RT! Have you hooked up with roommates yet or are you choosing to fly solo?

Jane: So you don't think Grace will be any match for Sean, huh? LOL I wonder if Sean knows how much you ladies drool over him??? }( Let us know what you think of the ITread once you do it...try to imagine coach Sean in Grace's place telling you what to do-I'll bet you'll love it then!;)

Phyllis: Oh I can feel your pain from B&G girl!}(

TGIF ladies!

Daily Check-in

Wendy, I have roomies! I am staying with Kathy (Annabelle2) from our 12-week check-in. Do you remember her? She starts the Road Trip check-in every morning. She lives in Texas too, and I am looking forward to meeting her in person. We talk on the phone every month and check-in online every day. She was planning to come visit me last June, but we had a change of plans at the last minute. My other roomie will be Kim from Georgia (kims) who only posts occasionally over here. I have been dreaming about a Cathe Road Trip since 2005. I was brand new to Cathe’s workouts when she hosted the 2005 Road Trip. I started recruiting roomies back then so I would not have to go alone! I am not a loner. Of course, I thought I would be in much better shape by now. Oh well, it will be fun. :7

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Daily Check-in

Good FRIDAY Morning Friends!!!:D

Wow, everyone is up and posting early! Or am I late?

Today is the second to the last day of the March rotation and it's step portions of step heat, step max and all of (step from) SJP.

Sorry about your bad sleep Heather & Wendy. That's the worst!

Connie, doesn't that All Body Attack have hi/lo in it?
I love step but just am not at all into hi/lo.
I was looking at the new CIA with Gay Gaspar. What do you think about her?

I'm so glad it's Friday.....I can't even tell you!!!:7

Cheers!:D

RE: Daily Check-in

Hello Fit Chicks!

:7:7TGIF:7:7

Today I'm going to do the Boot Camp premix from BM#2.

Heather: Was it a 'sharp' ascent?

Jane: I think I need to buy a gun cabinet! I'm also running to my local store (*runs past Heather*) to hunt down one of those Hershey bars...yummy:9 BTW...no one can compare to Coach CutiePie!

Conni: Your DVD collection is amazing!

Annette: Congratulations again!

Tig: Thanks for the iTrain info.

Phyllis: B&G....oh yeah...the DOMS are gonna get you.

Becky: I'm glad you are feeling better. Today's workout sounds fun!

RE: Daily Check-in

Hey everyone,

You know, I don't think I have that many dvds really. I guess I have heard about other people's collections and mine just pales by comparison, really.

Becky - The new Sharon workout does not have hi lo in it. A few jumping jacks, but that is about it. You would love it! I also have Gay's new one, and I will let you know when I try it. I have heard raves about it!

Speaking of the new CIA series, I did Kim Miller's Hi/lo today, then I did B & G stability ball abs. Pretty good hi/lo workout, about 50 minutes in length, and fairly complex. Dancy with a hip hop feel and lots of turns, but she has a good personality and I did get my heartrate up.

RE: Daily Check-in

Becky,

Honestly, this ( Sharon's) is one of the best workouts I have done in a long time, based upon how she just goes from move to move, and no one section is done to the point of boredom or overkill, and she is having a good time too! You will have to just buy this one, I think. Few people are going to want to trade it away, imo.

RE: Daily Check-in

Happy Friday to everyone here.

I just completed today's rotation which consisted of :

"Warm up plus 1st step section of Step Heat followed by 1st section of Step Max, followed by step portion of Step Jump and Pump and fast forward into the S,J,P stretch"

Just noticed that Becky you did it too - was it fun for you?

It was a nice step routine, I have Step heat and Step Max in the vhs versions so had to get those two set up before I started my workout so I wouldn't have much downtime in between and it was really fun, enjoyed seeing the Cathe of the early 90's.

Have a great weekend everyone - tommorrow I have ME lined up ( I don't usually do weekends but I want to keep consistant) I wonder what rotation Cathe has planned for the April rotation

:)

Thanks everybody, I may not be around much on Monday, Tuesday and Wed. of next week, I have orientation all day so I won't be exercising. I will be back on Thursday for my regularly scheduled workout,LOL!! Thanks again for all the well wishes and congrats. and prayers.

I did Cardio Camp's Kickbox premix today for my workout.

I am beginning to think that my stall in weight loss is due to my cycle being sooo erratic(sp?), I am on day 44 with no sign in sight for it to start. So I may be experiencing some bloating that isn't too visible on my body. I am thinking that once I do start that my weight will begin to drop again.

Have a great day!!:7

Happy Friday guys!

Anette, congrats on the job!

Heather...hope you perk up once you get your Cathe fix next week...

Wendy, hope you get a better nights sleep tonight!

Well, I went ahead and worked out although my calves are still a wee bit sore from the LBP, but I chose to do LIC the cardio timesaver premix, and I loved it! Also bit the bullet and ordered the rest of the new series and the calander...figure Cathe hanging on the wall of my workout room will keep me motivated!

Back to taxes...i will be SO glad when April 17th rolls around!

Deb

I did the 16/20 iTread workout and then went straight into CC#1 revised with the stretch from CC#3, a very very good 1 hour workout.

Wendy/Tammy - I liked the workout. I liked the fact that Grace gave ranges on the speeds and inclines. While I don't find this absolutely necessary as I can find my own ranges to stay in the correct zones with Sean, I thought it was a nice added touch especially for someone just starting to use guided workouts.

Phyllis - I did try to copy the arrow smiley but it didn't work. I'll try the link.

Tammy/Heather - is that Hershey Cacao Reserve I see all over your face?!:+ Seriously, did you find it? I haven't tried it yet, of course, it is locked up and DH is at a horse show this week. He'll be back Sunday and I believe I'll try a couple of squares and then back it the gun safe:p

Conni - you know I actually did Amazing Step Styles by Rob Glick one day last week, I'm venturing out a bit. I liked it.

Vilma - I saw your post on the OD forum about the second code and I got it. I downloaded 11/40... a steady state workout. I needed a steady state one.

Deb - I can't wait for April 17 either, that means my little grandson will be here (I hope), he is due on the 15th (TAX DAY) and DIL will be pretty peeved if he is still in there on the 17th. LOL.

Hello to Annette and Becky (I emailed you when I finished my workout).

Have a fun Friday night.... I am... watching TV and relaxing and I DON'T HAVE TO WORK A WEEKEND UNTIL MAY 11TH!!

Daily Check-in

Jane:

I wish I had dark chocolate on my face right now. :p Please send a chunk ASAP and an ark too! I was so tired this afternoon. It was a dark and rainy day. I was planning to take a nap at the office after work before attempting to drive home because I thought I might fall asleep on the way home. The tornado sirens started sounding right before closing time. After checking the weather report online, I decided to get out of there while I could. I did not want to be stuck at the office alone tonight. No worries about falling asleep. The adrenaline kept me wide awake, and I prayed all the way home. I was shaking while driving. If I had known how scary the drive home would be, I might have stayed at the office. I could not believe how fast the river was rising! Roads were starting to flood, and I had to drive through standing water and a torrential downpour to get home. My car was almost out of gas, so I had to stop. There was a tea and coffee shop by the gas station, and I went in and bought a chocolate cheesecake muffin to calm me down. :9 My sidewalk was under water when I finally made it home. I had to walk through standing water up to my ankles. If this rain does not stop soon, we are going to be dealing with serious flooding. I am so not going out tonight for a chocolate bar. ;-)

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Daily Check-in

((((Heather))))...I am so glad you are home safe and sound. I will gladly share my chocolate bar with you.

RE: Daily Check-in

Heather - I saw on the news the terrible weather that is plaqueing Texas and the mid-west. Stay safe!

Tammy - ahhhh.... so you found it!

RE: Daily Check-in

Jane: I have it hidden in my china cabinet in the silverware drawer. It is there in case of emergency.;) ;) ;)
