Good morning!

Heather - thanks for the kind words. I'll definitely be taking more pictures!!

Today is a 45 min brisk walk (40 or 45, I don't have my rotation handy right now) and a segment from TBS. I'll use some incline on the TM to make it a tough power walk, but I will keep it at a walk.

Have a good one everyone!

Good morning all!

I'm trying something new today. I have BBS on tap, but I decided to try it after work today. I'm curious as to wether my strength is better at this time of day. Honestly, it's not so great in the AM, but I did it anyway. So, I'll let you know later what I've discovered! I'll have to depend on my DD's to make dinner. There are now activities tonight(that I'm aware of). I was planning a trip to the grocery store too, but we'll see.

Good Morning Fit Chicks!

Today is IM#2 :7 and ab work.

Jane: Enjoy your walk...I always feel so rejuvenated after a power walk. Michele will be joining us for CC PP on Sunday. Her dear friend Nancy is battling breast cancer, so I thought we could dedicate the workout to Nancy.

Phyllis: Good luck with the after work workout. I'll be doing that next week when I return to work and I'm not looking forward to it. I really prefer working out first thing, but I also love to sleep:+

Conni: Continued prayers.

Good morning Friends!

Spring break (for dd) is done and here it is, Monday again. How can the days off fly by so quickly and the weekdays tend to drag on......?

Today's workout is BSB and a 20 min. SS run.
I'm ready to go !

Phyllis, I hope changing up your workout times works for you. The icing on the cake is that someone else will fix dinner !!!:7
I didn't post in OD, but I also have night sweats. Last night I can't count how many times I woke up drenched, then freezing.
What fun, huh?

Tammy, you're a day ahead of me on the rotation. Have fun, I'm looking forward to Imax2 !:D

We finally finished painting our bedroom, today I will clean out the linen closet in there and then it's officially DONE!! I am happy with the way it turned out and glad that all the work is finished.;) }(

Off to tackle my workout!!

Good Monday to Jane, Phyllis, Tammy, Becky and all who follow.

I feel 95% better from my cold and it's on its way out of my system.

Took Saturday and Sunday to rest as I hit a little setback with the cold bug.

Today the kids went back to school after being a week off for Spring break and thank goodness! They were driving each other nuts not me though as mama was sick ;)but the arguements, Goodness! lol

Just completed GS BSB plus I did iTread 11/40 along with the band workout from Stretch Max - off to shower soon and run some errands.

I know today's scheduled workout called for a 20 minute SS run but just could not stop at 20 so I did an entire 40 minutes and boy do I feel like me again although my throat feels dry from my cold.

* Jane - how is your new grandbaby and DIL doing?

* Phyllis - lots of luck with your after work workout :)
I have found in the past that if I wait too long in the day to workout I don't do it as kids and RL get in my way. I enjoy working out as soon as I drop my kids off at school or within an hour from getting up

* Tammy - I just love IM2! That's on my rotation for tommorrow - have fun and enjoy!

* Becky - we're on the same day as far as this month's rotation - I throughly enjoyed my workouts ! Have fun with it! :)

* Conni - Here's hoping your hubby continues sticking out his tongue at the doctor and makes you laugh- Hoping for a uneventful & speedy recovery for him and you too!

Well Ladies I need to get going. Hopefully I'll check back in later on during the day.

Ok, who gave me their head cold, huh huh?!!! Fess up. I am miserable with this cold, ugh!!!

I decided to do weights today so I pick and chose various upper body exercises from the PS series and did that plus some ankle weight exercises for legs (like from L&G) then did abs off of PSSL&A. All in all about 42 min. worth including a warm up and stretch, so not bad. I haven't done weights in a really long time but I still surprise myself in what weights I can still handle.

I work tomorrow 2-8 so I will do something in the morning.

Anybody catch 20/20 over weekend talking about the Cardio Free diet? It was saying that one should only do strength training when trying to lose weight because cardio just makes you hungry and you end up eating more and gaining. While weight training will increase your metabolism and you don't get hungry after doing it(I disagree with this especially after doing Slow and Heavy), but this man was swearing by his 'new' system.

Of course the doctors were arguing the other side saying that you need the cardio for your heart health. He said that if you ever look at a gym all the people on the 'cardio' side ie... treadmills and bikes, all look miserable, unhappy and overweight while all the ones on the weight lifting side look happy, toned and muscular.

So why would people want to do cardio, this was his opinion.

Anyway it was an interesting segment on 20/20.

Have a great day!!:)

Hey Fit Chicks!

Just finished BBC's Arms and Abs work out and I added in sets of chin ups after every 2 exercises. Great work out! I didn't do the cardio though as I have running class tonight.

Jane: Enjoy the walk. I'm sure it will feel like a much needed break. You work hard so enjoy it!:)

Phyllis: It'll be interesting to see if you notice a difference in your strength in the morning versus the evening. Let us know!!

Tammy: Have fun with IM2! Are you doing a Cathe rotation right now or your own thing? How's the new job??

Becky: I'm glad the painting is done. Have a good work out!

Vilma: I have Itread 11/40m. Great work out!

Annette: Interesting 20/20 topic. I didn't see the show but I don't buy it. I think you need both cardio AND weights. I think HOW MUCH is dependent upon each individual's preferences and what works best for the goals that person wants to attain. :)

>Ok, who gave me their head cold, huh huh?!!! Fess up. I am
>miserable with this cold, ugh!!!
>

LOL Don't blame me :D I had to go and get some throat soothers for this dry throat and I've lost my voice ha! I'd rather have that than deal with that crud I had a few days ago though.

Sowwy you got sick too - drink tons of water but I'm sure you know that
;-)

As far as that no cardio thing - eh -

Cardio and weights together work for me and cardio keeps me happy and helps give me those endorphins to keep away the blues (I've been off depression meds for a year now and cardio helps me with that)

But whatever works for each individual person is what is best. I think I'll stick to Cathe and her cardio and guided TM workouts ;)

My power walk clocked in around 47 minutes. I kept it at 3.5 mph but did it on a 4% incline. I also did TBS #2 stretch on the ball.

I was really feeling my hamstrings and glutes during that incline power walk. I have UB and LB DOMS from Kenpo X yesterday on top of what I already had from PUB on Friday and PLB on Saturday! I am one big ball of DOMS! :+

Becky: What color did you paint your BR? I've got to do that soon.

Tig: I don't start my job until next Monday, so I am thoroughtly enjoying my last week :7 We're still wating for the pictures ;)

Vilma: Great workout!

Annette: Sorry your not feeling well, feel better soon.

Jane: You need a nice soak in a hot tub!

Crashing your party for just a sec to put out a holler to Jane!

The latest pics are WONDERFUL! Does it get any better than these early days as a grandma? You are beaming! Hope everyone is healthy and happy! Congrats again!

Hi Traci!!! Oh being a nana is wonderful!!! I already coaching him to say nana!! :) Everyone is doing fine. Joseph has the life that I want, eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat!! :+

OK gang, well I hat to disappoint but I didn't see much difference from AM to PM. Furthermore, I don't like PM! I had planned on BSB plus 20 min of Allstep, but after BSB I was wiped! I still had it in my head that I had stuff to do and couldn't really focus too well. So, I'll be sticking to my early birds WO's. I'm much more efficient then and I don't feel like it's taking a chunk out of my day. See you EARLY tomorrow!

ETA: Vilma - glad you're feeling better. Annette - get well fast

Hello to everybody else!!

Tammy we did our bedroom from the seaside collection. The walls are seafoam green, the trim is "toes in the sand" ha and then we painted all the trim white and got new doors and painted those white too.
If I have to live in Ohio......at least I can imagine I am by the beach when I am in my room now .;) :7

Daily Check-in

This was another Monday of persevering through my circumstances. I started fighting a sore throat last week. I had a tickle in my throat last night and a coughing fit at bedtime that kept me awake until well after midnight. I was tired this morning, but I pressed on and did the Butts and Guts leg blast premix with all those walking lunges and firewalkers. Oh my! I love this workout. I am planning to alternate this one with Gym Style Legs.

My eating was clean today, and I drank plenty of spring water. I was wiped out after work, so I took a long nap. I hope I can sleep tonight. I still have a tickle in my throat. Hopefully, a Benadryl will knock me out and take care of this itchy throat. My meals and snacks are packed for tomorrow, so it is time for a warm bubble bath and a restful night of sleep.

Annette, I did not see that show, but I think he is a nut! Of course, I am a cardio lover and cannot be objective about this. He is wrong about cardio making you hungry. Cardio suppresses my appetite and takes away the desire to binge. Weight training (especially the Slow and Heavy Series) is what makes me hungry. Cardio also keeps the blues at bay without the side effects of antidepressants. A combination is best for me, but I definitely need plenty of cardio to shed fat. I have experimented with this, and my body does best with cardio and circuit training when my goal is fat loss.

Phyllis, I am a morning glory girl too! Evening workouts do not work for me. Why did you want to switch to evening workouts?

Michelle, welcome to the check-in!

Blessings,
Heather B.
