Wendy...I feel a barbell is definitely needed...especially if you up the weights for leg exercises...much easier to hold a 40 lb barbell than 2 20lb dumbbells...

...I have read many debates on this forum about blasting fat on the thighs. Some feel excessive cardio doesn't do it. Ultimately you find what works best for you!

I am skipping my freestyle leg workout as tomorrow morning I will head up to Oregon for a beatiful 15K (9.3 mile) trail run at the Ashland Ski Park. I do this run about every year! So today I'll do one of the Coremax segments and shoulders, tris and chest. Have a great day...
