Hello everyone,
Tammy, I didn't make the hedge hogs again, but I made "forgotten cookies" (an American recipie) for afternoon tea, quesedilla's, chicken filet in pastry, salmon croissants and speedy nacho's to go with beer and wine, and for "dinner" we had a lovely focacia bread with minestrone soup and Dorset chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Definitely not a watch-my-food-day.
Carole, sorry you had a crappy run. Hate those, but they don't happen often do they?
Wendy, how is little Joey?
Mariángeles, are you enjoying you vacation?
Judy, maybe low impact makes for a nice change to let your Plantar Fasciitis heal?
As you may (not) know, I picked up our pup Spike last week. He's almost 8 weeks now. I've been taking him to my son's school to get him used to kids in all sizes
And we've been taking him to the supermarket where we would let him stay with one of us outside to watch people, traffic, etc. He's also been to the neighbours, met a few other doggies and we've been getting him used to his crate in little steps. He loves the cats, thinks he can play with them, but the cats are not amused ;-)
Spike and I were just caught in a major rain shower. Poor thing refused to walk next to me under the umbrella. He did seem to like the rain though. He also loves people (men, women, children, it doesn't matter). Is not afraid of the garbage truck, thunder, cyclists, cars and shopping carts. Today, we're taking him to the train station to acqaint him with noisy trains and lots (!) of people. And we'll also take him on the bus later this week.
As of yesterday, we're teaching him to sit, come, follow to heel on the leash (Dutch versions of those commands ofcourse) and we're trying to make him understand "fetch". He's either not interested (his dad is a dachshund so it wouldn't surprise me a bit) or he just doesn't understand what it means when we roll a little ball a little bit away from him. We have managed to teach him to go after the ball and pick it up, then he drops it again and walks away x( Ah well, patience and time......
Naturally it's all done in a playful manner and only a few minutes at a time.
I did Muscle Max this morning. No strength loss, although I have cut back on strenth training for three weeks now. Surprising isn't it?
Have a great day,
Dutchie
