CTX/S&H Exercise Breakdown

Cathlete
Two questons:

1. Does anyone know the exact exercises that are done on CTX and S&H series? I have seen the time listed for back, chest, etc. exercises, but I would like to know the specific ones that are done for each body part.

2. Also, I saw a link comparing the exercises done in PH, MIS, and CTX, but of course now I don't remember where I saw it!

Thanks for any input.

I posted the comparison under as a response to "one body part per day" or some similar title, that I believe can be found in the open discussion forum. For S&H 3 sets of 8 reps are done for each exercise with a few exceptions were sometimes only 2 sets are done. The count is 6 on the positive, 2 on the negative (hope I didnt mix that up!)

S&H....

Legs
-front lunge
-squat
-reverse lunge
-static lunge
-side lunge
-plie squat
-calf raises

Shoulders
-front raise
-side lateral raises
-posterior delt raises
-seated overhead press
-side lying external rotation (rotator cuff)

Chest
-bench press
-chest flys
-incline bench press
-incline chest press
-pushups

Back
-dumbell rows
-dumbell pullovers
-deadlifts
-superman

Tricep
-overhead triceps extension
-lying tricep extension
-kickbacks
-dips

Bicep
-dumbell curl
-hammer curl
-barbell curl
-barbell wrist curl
-reverse wrist curl

You may also want to check out the dvd descriptions on this site for each, sometimes the different exercises are listed there as chapter headings.

Stacy: Just the details I was looking for. Too bad there isn't something like S&H with only 1 or 2 tapes -- can't see myself devoting more than one session to upper body, and I do need upper body work more than lower. Perfect, thanks.

Liz and Deborah: How could you do this to me? That site is undoubtedly going to be exactly what I want -- problem is, I know once I get on it, there goes my PH workout for tonight! One of the main reasons I like to know the exact exercises, there are certain ones I can't do, so I want to substitute exercises from Firefighter's Workout book, and knowing in advance will help me plan what to do. Also, of course, it will help me know what I want to order next (too many, of course!)

Thanks, gals, you're all great!!!!!!

Hi, Liz -- Please see my reply to Stacy, where my reply to you and Deborah somehow got included just below my reply to Stacy and came out above your message to me. At least if I had worked out first, I could say I was so tired I couldn't think straight, but I don't even have that excuse!

Thanks again.

Hate to admit not only am I Cathe disoriented, but also computer disoriented! Went to site, and when it came up, in order to see one of the workseets, I clicked on ExcelSpreadsheet which I suppose opens the spreadsheet (which I know nothing about). Anyhow, it asked if I wanted to open or save file, and I clicked on Open. Then a new tool bar came up, and that was it. Nothing else happened. What am I supposed to do to see the worksheet?

Why do I always seem to reach a computer impasse!

Thanks again from Ms. Brilliant (not)

Hi Normandy!

This is a stupid question, but, do you have Microsoft Excel? I copied into a Word format and if you would like I could email it to you.

Vickie

Hi, Vickie -- Yours isn't the stupid question-- mine seems to be. No, I don't have Excel and besides, I have wordperfect, not words. I just thought I would click onto the site, and there it would be, but I guess nothing is always that simple.

Thanks so much for offering, it really is nice of you -- it would have been great!

RE: CTX/S&H Exercise Breakdown

Edited to say: I forgot that Microsoft offers free Excel viewers and Word viewers. Go to http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/xlviewer.aspx and see if that helps.

Tell me exactly which ones you wanted to grab and I'll see if I can make them acrobat (pdf) files. Acrobat is free, so if you don't have it, you can pick it up at adobe.com. Click on one of the links at the bottom of that same page where it says Acrobat and see if it works in your browser.

Best,
Liz

RE: CTX/S&H Exercise Breakdown

Hi, Liz -- Now Fitness Fanatics address won't open on my ompuserve. I sent e-mail with your message to my office computer, which has MSN, and I'll try it there. I guess I would like to see breakdown for CTX upper body, and possibly Slow N Heavy. Yes, I do have Adobe Acrobat. Before I put you to all that trouble, I would just like to see one worksheet to see if that is what I want.

You're an angel for taking all this time to try and help!

RE: CTX/S&H Exercise Breakdown

Normandy,

If you aren't able to get it in a format you can see, let me know and I could fax you a copy of the spreadsheets I have if you need. I have one of the sets, with a different page for each of most of Cathe's workouts.

:)

RE: CTX/S&H Exercise Breakdown

I finally managed to download the spreadsheet viewer at my office computer, so I was able to see them all. That was really nice of you to offer to fax them to me -- impressive how many nice people (like you)you find on these forums!

Thanks tons.
