Oh for Pete's sake stop it!!!! The Hitler Youth was a paramilitary organization founded by the Nazis which groomed the kids to be soldiers and fight for the Third Reich and teaching the doctrines of Nazi Germany and teaching anti-semitism. Kids were forced to join even against the will of their parents and if the parents said something wrong they'd be shipped to concentration camps. Don't even go there with me!!

Aside there are a bunch of videos on youtube about kids singing and talking about McCain, do you think either McCain or Obama have any control over this??

It is one thing to have a different political view but let's stay with policies and facts, shall we.

Calm yourself Carola - I didn't go looking for this - it came to me. I know you are German also but the comment was also made somewhere else.

It just seems a bit weird to me - looks very professionally made compared to the ones made in someones living room with bad lighting and sound.

And because the comment was made somewhere else, that makes it true?? I see remarks all over the internet comparing Obama to Hitler. Just because someone is a good speaker doesn't mean he is Hitler reincarnated. Hitler was a hateful and spiteful lunatic. Aside Hitler's party was very much to the right, meaning conservative.

I am sorry but as someone whose family members were forced into the Hitler Youth and were thrown into concentration camps for disagreeing with the Nazi regime I am a little sensitive to comparisions like that.

I personally have never seen comparisons of Obama to Hitler . . and the comment was in regards to Hitler Youth - in other words children being used for propaganda purposes.
 
Grandmother was full blood - spoke it and all. First generation in the U.S. Grandfather was actually French but was adopted by a German family here in U.S. So I guess - quasi German???? I live in a German town also - my DH is German, both his parents are full blood. I attend a church where they still have a German service on Sunday's and German is mandatory in the Lutheran school my son attends - grade Kindergarten thru 8th grade.

And we have one hell of a Bavarian Fest and Oktoberfest.

I think Carola was born and raised in Germany (Ya?) -

I don't see any difference between those tapes and a parent putting a kid in a Sunday school program.

The kids are having fun and learning about politics and being brought up by politically active parents who are encouraging the kids to be politically active in a productive way.

Having children sing at political events is an American tradition that goes back to at least the 1850s.

The comparison to Hitler's Youth Group is hyperbole at best and pretty derogitory.

Baylian and Hiitdogs you two seem to be constantly butting heads and flinging things back and forth. Sometimes I'm afraid to even read a post where the 2 of you are responding. Politics, race, ethnicity aside, does it always have to get ugly between you two. I opened a thread titled Creepy, thinking I was looking at scary Halloween stuff or something and end up with Nazi concentration camps!!!! WTH? Maybe the original movie WAS just to see if anyone else thought it was creepy??? Maybe no one was comparing anyone to anyone??

I personally don't comment on religion, republican,democrat etc things, and you are both more than welcome to your opinions. Especially in a forum called "Open Discussion". But maybe not everyone wants to read a fight about it everyday.
And before you say it, I know, I don't have to read it but it seems like it's just about EVERY thread now. Financial bailout, creepy, presidential debate, economy, etc etc etc. I open a thread to hear others opinions about who won the debate and end up finding out how you 2 don't "fact check" or "say who the original source is". Come on already.

I'm sure I'm not winning Miss Popularity today but I really think it's time we toned it down a little bit. Remember words hurt sometimes. Especially words like Hitler and Nazi. And for those of us whose last name is Neumann, maybe we would prefer NOT to have to relive it on an exercise board.

All I've seen is her try to bait people w/her extreme political views (which, BTW, includes her incredibly nasty & offensive signature line, which has absolutely no place on this forum).

Frankly I'm not even sure Baylian is a woman.

Carola is a long time forum member who is actually interested in and participates in forum topics other than just politics. In fact, I do believe Carola actually owns a few Cathe Friedrich DVDs. ;)

Please don't misunderstand me. Everyone has a right to be here & post what they want. However I find Baylian's behavior discourteous, vindictive, disruptive & just plain bad manners. S/he has the right to do it. I just don't understand why s/he does.

Baylian, can you please do us a favor & take your poison to the RNC website, where you might find 2-3 people who agree with you? Thank you in advance for your consideration.

I also find Baylian's behavior rude and innapropriate. Her posts have done nothing but create anger, frustration and controversy on a site that used to be fun, easygoing, and *gasp* centered around fitness.

I really enjoy this forum and LOVE Cathe of course. I just get upset when EVERYTHING becomes an argument. I just want some encouragement and advice on my workouts and to chat with some really fun people. :D:D
I met so many fun people on the July RT and have made many new friends. I want to enjoy that. Especially after doing BodyMax 2 this am. Someone make me laugh because the only muscles I can move right now are my facial ones.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Baylian has posted some items in the nutrition section which were perfectly appropriate and in the spirit of the boards, and this is the open forums.

A large part about being a conservative Republican is being adamant, and Baylian is very adamant.

In fairness, there is no tone in the written word to infer meaning from like there is in a voice, but it might be better to simply ignore the inflammatory parts of her posts.

I don’t particularly care for Baylian’s signature either. It seems so angry. I always thought that a signature file for the Cathe forum should be motivational.

But we're 5 weeks away from the election.

What do you expect?

Things will calm down after the election.

I’m sure Baylian is very earnest in her statements but telling her she’s a man and a troll isn’t going to make it better.

It might be better to tell Baylian “Don’t yell dear, we’re not used to it.”

Hmmm well I guess what I expect is civility & respect. Baylian, in case you're not familiar, please log on to www.websters.com. Being an "adamant conservative Republican" is no excuse for this childish, in your face behavior. There's a time & a place for everything & this ain't it.

The signature is disgusting and I'm pretty sure is intended to offend. Unless s/he's directing it at a specific forum member, but I'm not sure how s/he would know there are forum members who can't afford children or pets.

I find it rather interesting that Baylian signed on in the midst of election season and the vast majority of her posts have been about the election, not about fitness. Baylian please correct me if I'm wrong. Certainly I'd feel a lot better about your presence here if you could, say, tell me what your favorite Cathe DVD is, or your favorite Cathe move, or which w/o you think is the toughest or easiest...........

I didn't tell him/her s/he was a man. I'm simply stating that I don't know. It's not intended as an insult. And I never mentioned "troll" but hey, if the shoe fits............
