CRAZY STRONG & LOVING IT FOR JAN 19, 2011

Have you guys heard the song, "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars? What a beautiful song. I love it!

Today was another total body workout. Had an excellent workout and felt very strong today.

Today's workout was 3 sets of 8 reps with 1 min. 30 second rest between sets.

Dumbbell Military Press - 12's/12 reps - 2 sets (warmup)
Dumbbell Military Press - 20's
Leg Press Station - 210#
Incline Dumbbell Press - 30's (should have gone higher)
T-Bar Rows - 80#
Preacher Curls - 55#
Standing Barbell Tricep Extensions - 45# (Haven't done this in like forever. I had a hard time getting my hands at the right distance on the bar.)

Oh, and my cats are driving me crazy!!! Why can't they just get along?

Belinda - How many times have you done STS? Do you retest and up your 1RM every time?

Nora - I previewed parts of Cardio Core Circuit last night. Do you like that workout? I was a little taken aback by that move where she rolls on her back and then to standing..:confused: Not sure I can do that...

Last night I ended up doing Imax 2. Not the entire thing. I did every step segment and every other blast. Then worked abs with DH. Tonight is a heated yoga class. Not too crazy-hot like Bikram, which I've never tried and have no interest. This class is around 80-85 degrees. Last time I took it she made us close our eyes for the whole class. Which I found a little odd at first, but it was really challenging since your balance is different with your eyes closed. I had to peek a couple of times because I still don't have all the names of the poses down yet.

I also previewed Patrick Goudeau's Lean Hot Body last night. Looks like a good workout. This is the first workout of his that I have. I've seen him a couple of times on FitTV, but that was a long time ago. I'm hoping to fit that one in on Thursday or Friday.
 
Hi ladies - today is probably going to end up being a rest day for me. My legs are totally fried. I got the run done after work - went down to the river trail to get it done. It ended up being 6 miles total. 2 words: Holy Crap.

Debbie - those weights look good to me!

Belinda - was it a good workout?
 
Good Morning,

Cough has quieted down but I have a migraine headache and my nose turned loose. Today we are expecting anywhere from 2-9 inches of snow depending on which forcast you here and it has already started, the bosses are talking maybe closing early depending on what it does, unfortunately we have to deliver a hospital bed this morning those always suck. Don't know what tonites workout will be depends on how I feel.

Belinda-good job with STS.

Debbie-those crazy cats someday maybe they will get along. Nice workout. Love that song.

Heather-sounds like you need a rest day.

Melissa-wish I could get DH to do abs with me. Have fun at yoga tonite.
 
Hi Girls...

Today was leg day for me. I did GS: Legs, all the standing weight work, except for calves. And I followed that with the bar work/leg drills from Lower Body Blast. I really love it!. Using the Power Tower for this is super cool. Burned like crazy! :eek:

Belinda: Good workout with STS today! I always thought back and triceps was such a weird combo.

Debbie: That is one of my favorite current songs too! It's such a feel good song. Nice job on weights today. Standing barbell tricep extensions! wow. Don't even think I COULD do those, it would kill my shoulders too much.... Are your cats fighting? Mine chase each other and stalk/pounce each other, but I think they're just playing.

Heather: that run sounds crazy! but by the river must have been nice? Enjoy rest day!!!!

Roxie: Hope you feel better! We're supposed to get even more snow this week too. What can ya do? It sure makes Springtime that more sweeter!

Melissa: Sounds like a cool workout with IM2 last night! CCC has some tough moves. You can modify though. it's a SUPER tough workout. In my opinion, harder than the HiiTs. A good challenge though!

Nora: Speaking of CCC... It *IS* a toughie! The rolling to standing move, I come up with my knees together and my feet out to the side. It's not even an option, but it's the only way I can get up. I'm sure I'm cheating it. but it's better than being stuck on the ground. Your core must be killing you today!

Did the weirdest/hardest move yesterday on the Bob workout. Called Scorpian Push ups. Have you guys ever done those? You do a plank, bend one leg up and over, and do a push up. Did I say I *did* that move? I tried like hell, but no way! LOL!
 
Belinda - Nice workout with D5!!!

Melissa - I think I'd pass out doing one of those heated yoga classes. I need air when I workout!! Have fun with it! And nice job with Imax 2, very inventive to do every other blast! I might do that next time.

Heather - Enjoy your rest day! You deserve it! :eek:

Roxie - Glad to hear you are doing better. We are getting snow too, but not too much. Hope it stays that way!

Chris - Yes, those extensions were a challenge. I use to do them all the time. I probably should have used the ez curl bar, I might have to use that when I do the superset version next week. Nice going with that leg workout! I bet you were fried afterwards!!!
 
Oh I agree about needing "air" when I work out, Debbie! I even get pissed when the heat comes on when I'm doing my workout at home! LOL!
 
Well I had yet *another* weird night's worth of dreams mixed in with my husband waking up around 2am with a sick stomach (which weirdly passed by this morning so all good I guess, just bad timing!). After that I woke up around 3 laughing hysterically at some dream I was having. WEIRD! Needless to say it was not a good night's sleep. Meaning my workout has not yet happened. But I am planning on another interval workout on the treadmill since an outdoor run is impossible with the snow and ice. Wahh! When will it end?!?!?

Debbie - LOVE that song by Bruno Mars, gets me every single time! I blare it on the radio in my car. Haha. Ridic on those tricep extensions - esp since you didn't use the ez curl bar, you are insane!! I bow down to you :)

Heather - thank you for taking a rest day. I was going to strong arm you if not hehe

Roxie - feel better!! I feel you on the damn snow. I am SO over it. we're expecting more on Friday. Ughhhh.

Melissa - good luck at yoga! I tried birkam once and thought I'd die. I should try it again though because the heat really does help you get into the poses even better - esp for me who is sooo not flexible to begin with!

Chris - damn, that scorpian thingie sounds ridic! I would have a real problem doing it too, don't you worry ;-)
