Crazy Strong and Loving It for September 4, 2009

Cathlete
Good morning,

Sorry, for not checking in yesterday! Yesterday DH and I left for a meeting/ceremony very early in the morning; we didn’t get home until after midnight. We flew in a helicopter, which was very coool. Last night/morning I was too excused to check in.

I haven’t worked out since Tuesday. I did do Stretch Max on Wednesday. My lower back/ hip are still hurting. Not sure what I did? I can hardly move. If the pain doesn’t stop by today, I will go see a doctor. I am afraid to lift heavy right now; hopefully I can catch up with disc 17 and 18 tomorrow. I am praying! I don’t wanna stop right in the middle of STS; I am hoping to make it through this time.

Great job on your workouts ladies, I will be back later with personals.

Today I am taking a rest day. DH and I are going to have a date night tonight. :) Tomorrow I will try to workout before heading up to my parents for the weekend. (my sister is having her wedding reception on Sunday - not looking forward to any drama!) I am so glad its Friday - however I have alot of stuff that needs to get done this weekend. :( Does anyone else have plans for the weekend? I wish I could just sleep all weekend. :)

Good morning. I just got done doing Plyo legs Disc 35 and medicine ball abs. I forgot how much I loved doing plyo legs!! We're leaving tomorrow for Outer Banks so I will be packing today plus mowing the lawn so I think I will be burning some major calories today. I might take a cheat day tomorrow and eat some pancakes when we're on the road. WEW HEW!

Have a good Labor Day and a good week next week.

Bev

Well, I'm not nearly as sore as I thought, but the day is young. I had thought about trying to get up and doing something really easy just to get loosened up, but that didn't happen. Probably for the best really. So, nothing for me today. Tomorrow I'm hoping the rain holds off so DH and I can run in the morning. I start week 5 of the rotation Patti and I put together tomorrow so it's back to S&H for me.

We were supposed to go to a tailgating party tomorrow too, but if it rains, that won't be happening. We've had such great weather and now it goes to hell on an long weekend with outdoor activities planned. Oh well, guess I won't have any excuses to not get stuff done inside that I have been putting off!!

Belinda - Hope your back gets better soon. Be careful and don't push it.

Karen - Enjoy your rest day. Hopefully the drama will be kept to a minimum!

Bev - enjoy your cheat day!!!

Heather

Good Morning,

Tonite is SB combos 1,2,3 and add on I want to add risers but not that haven't done it for awhile so don't remember all the moves. Plan on just cleaning house, shopping and play pool this weekend had hoped to use the hot tub but it developed a new leak after DH fixed the first leak, we haven't used it for 2 years because he hadn't fixed it.

Morning everyone! Nice workouts to all of you so far!

Today is the first day of our vacation. Not doing much of anything today. I have to go grocery shopping and dh and I will clean up around here a bit. Tomorrow is the Melon Festival. We will ride our motorcycles out there. It's a nice ride. Looking forward to it.

I won't have any workouts to report until Monday. So I might not be checking in now until then. So you all have a great Holiday weekend!

Belinda - I sure hope you're ok. I know a lot of people have injured themselves with STS. Luckily I haven't yet. Take care, girl!

Hey Everyone!

Belinda: Wow! A helicopter! Sounds very cool!! I've never been on one either. I hope your back/hip gets better. Do a few days of stretching! My hips/back get sore sometimes. I do believe it could be from my workouts, but also on how i sleep.

Roxie: SB is a goodie! Have fun!

Heather: I bet those DOMS will kick in! I did my shoulder workout later yesterday and didn't feel anything when I woke up, but they are getting sore now. How are you feeling today? I read your "burned out" post on OD. I have no advice, but just feel bad that you feel that way about your workouts lately. It sucks to not be excited about them! Have you given any thought as to what you want to do?

Karen: Have a great weekend!!! I understand what you mean about family drama.

Bev: Hi-5's on Plyo Legs!!! It is a goodie, which one did you do? It sounds like you well deserve a Pancake day!!

Debbie: Your weekend sounds great! Enjoy (I know I don't need to tell you that).

Nora: Glad you're feeling a little bit better. Sounds like you got it bad, but you still pushed to work out, YOU are AMAZING!

*waves* to Wendy and Patti!!!!

Oh, And today I did 4DS: BC , Bi's and Tri's! I have to say, the 4DS BC has got to be THE best 30 minute kickbutt workout ever, don't you think? Love it!!!!

Hi Ladies

My pain got so bad today that my DH made me go to a doctor. The orthopedist did some checks and determined I may have a herniated disk. So she sent me for an x-ray. The x-ray revealed the disk was bad L3 and 4. The herniation is pressing on a nerve. The doctor gave me a shot directly into the area and prescribed muscle relaxers and Ibuprofen for inflammation.

My DH is staying here from his travels to take care of me. The doctor contacted the hospital in case my back gets worse. She suspects it will get better, in any case I am receiving an MRI on Monday and she has directed that I do not exercise before next Friday. That makes me frustrated.

The doctor did say that most adults have herniated disks to some degree, most do not hit a nerve causing problems. We are praying that I do not need surgery (pray with us). Again, the doctor said it is unlikely, but she wants to be careful.
I have no luck with STS:mad::(

I will be back later!

Chris - I'm not sure what I'm going to do just yet. I think part of it is just being overwhelmed with a bunch of crap going on all at once. I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels and nothing ever actually gets accomplished. We've had house repairs, car repairs, etc. etc. all one right after the other. You know how that goes. It just all starts to add up and you just break at some point. Working out is such a great release for me, but at the same time, it takes away from time when I really ought to be doing things around the house or errands, etc. Something has to give... My "exercise" before was dance. That never felt like exercise. I need some more diversity in my exercise routines I suppose. Just not sure what to do.

I really enjoy doing weights and feel like I have learned so much from STS and from forum members. However, I still am working harder and not smarter. On rest days, all I do is argue with myself about how it is OK to take a day off. My muscles are NOT going to atrophy! Ugh. Sorry for the long rant/vent.

Belinda - I'm glad you went to the doctor at least. I know it's not the best news in the world but at least you know now what's causing the pain. Hugs!

Roxie - I just love SB. I have to make myself pick other step workouts! Maybe you can try adding the extra riser just for the combos, but then drop down when you do the challenges.

Heather

OMG, Belinda! Holy crap!! That sounds bad!! (((hugs))). I will think good thoughts for you that it "just gets better" and NO SURGERY! I understand the frustration on not getting to work out too. Do you think that there was one particular move that did it to you? That's just horrible that STS caused your injury , if it did. I'm glad your DH is staying home with you. follow doctor orders and REST!!!

Heather: I get that frustration with workouts too sometimes. And have similiar feelings. I always feel like I could get a shitload more done if I didn't work out for that one hour. And there's always so much on my "list to do". Esp with school starting up. And my 3 sons' birthdays this month. I get pissed at myself I don't get stuff done. And then I get pissed at my workkouts! lol!. And, like you, I will get worried/anxious that I'm 'deconditioning' if I skip a workout too. ... Saturdays are very busy here. And I'm not usually in the greatest of moods, because I have to go to work. not that I don't LIKE my job, but it just causes upheaval in my house , with the kids, and also with my sleep. Last Saturday, I decided to NOT work out, and to 'get stuff done'. I did get things done in a better time frame and didn't feel as rushed, with skipping my workout. BUT.. I also got really bitchy and frustrated with the kids, and i cried and curled in a ball feeling HORRIBLE. I almost felt like part of it was because I didn't work out and "get the endorphin" thing going. I think cardio, esp, makes me feel better. Know what I mean? it's tough.

okay , back to my "list"!

I figured that people on this forum, and some of you guys too, might be able to relate. The other day I was cursing out loud b/c I was hitting failure so quickly with my left arm on preacher curls. Of course, getting riled up didn't help. But then I feel like a failure somehow. It's all mental I know. I am just a perfectionist on top of everything. Not sure if it's better to be the way we are or just a lazy slob! I swear, I sit at work thinking about how I wish I could leave early just to get the workout in so that I can then get to the things that need to be done - like laundry, dusting, grocery shopping, etc. I don't even have kids so I can only imagine how much more difficult it is for you and other with children!

I totally can get super bitchy and downright ugly with people who mess up my exercise routine in some way fashion or form. I have a schedule folks! LOL. Hugs to you for feeling so down last night too!!!

My sister is the only person close to me that exercises and "gets it." Actually, just met a new friend that gets it and that's refreshing, b/c none of the other friends I've had in my life get it. They all think exercising is walking around the block once a week. I had one friend who said she was doing P90X. What she meant was that when she felt up to it, she'd pick out one of the DVDs and do a little bit of it.

Thanks for listening!

Yeah, no one I know (except people here) get any of it either. All my friends see working out as WORK, and do it only because they SHOULD do it, not because they NEED to do it.

I sometimes think I like to procrastinate the dusting, cleaning, organizing stuff anyways... LOL!
