Crazy, Strong and Loving it for July 2014!!

Good morning,

Sorry for not checking in yesterday. DH and I had fun on 4th of July, we went to our neighbors pool party Sorry if yours wasn't that great DH and I went to our local Farmers Market and ended up in a near by town. It was fun to go window shopping in this little old town Last night I did STS D18.

I will do SBF Barre, 30 min. Love her workouts.

Roxie - thanks you. Good job with your workouts.

Nora - thank you. You are kicking butt with your workouts.

Have a wonderful workout and day, everyone.

Howdy!

Not much going on here for the 4th. Just playing taxi and babysitter for my boys. ....

Yesterday I did Xtrain Bi's and Tri's Burn Sets, and today I did CBS Burn Sets. Great transition from Body Beast!

Roxie, hope your headache (and shins!) is better. Enjoy the weekend!

Belinda, what is SBF Barre? Sounds like you found something new.

Debbie, Hope your legs feel better for next week!! Maybe you could do more leg work like Barre or weightless strengthening stuff?

Nora, How are you liking PiYo? What type of workouts are they? Do you feel they are more beginner/intermediate ? Hope you have a happy 4th!

Good Evening,

I did a 1.90 mile run/walk this morning more running then walking but I think I either have a stress fracture or strained muscle. I will do my planks tonite.

Belinda-I am glad you had a wonderful 4th.

Chris-thanks I am hoping its nothing serious on the shin headache is better. I am thinking about doing Xtrain again.

Good afternoon,

Just got done with SBF Barre, 30 min. That's it for me today. I did 3 hours of yard work this morning.

Chris - SBF = Suzanne Bowen Fitness:) I signed up for her streaming workouts. Great Barre workouts, I don't feel like wiped out after doing her workouts. Have fun with Xtrain.

Roxie - oh no! Make sure, you stretch those muscles good and get some rest.

Good night, ladies.

Good Morning,

I did KCM's Muscle Up CB&S using 20's,15's,12's and 10's. I wanted to run but I couldn't hardly walk this morning even lifting the wts hurt. DH says I need to rest my leg but the Color Run is in September no time for rest.

Belinda-good job with your workout.

Today I did Burn Sets Chest, Back and Shoulders and had a great workout. Cathe had just the regular Chest, Back and Shoulders workout again. I've done that three weeks in a row. I'm tired of it. So I did the burn sets one. Had a great workout. Upped the weights on some exercises.

This is what I did:

CHEST
Dumbbell Chest Press - 35's - 1 set 10 reps; 2nd set 30's; 3rd set 30's 12 reps
Dumbbell Chest Fly - 25's - 2 sets 10 reps; 3rd set 12 reps
Incline Dumbbell Chest Press - 25's - 1 set 10 reps; 2nd set 30's; 3rd set 30's 12 reps
Pushups - 16 reps

BACK
One Arm Row - 30# - 2 sets 10 reps; 3rd set 11 reps
Double Arm Row - 20's - 2 sets 10 reps; 3rd set 12 reps
Rear Delt Fly - 12's - 2 sets 10 reps; 3rd set 12 reps
Supermans - Skipped

SHOULDERS
Dumbbell Overhead Press - 12's - 2 sets 10 reps; 3rd set 10 reps
Single Arm Lateral Raise - 8# - 2 sets 10 reps; 3rd set 10 reps
Single Arm Rear Delt Raise - 8# - 2 sets 10 reps; 3rd set 14 reps
Scarecrows - 5# - 12 reps

Then my sister-in-law and I went to the park and walked about 1.5 miles. It's getting humid here again so I was really sweating. My left knee is still bothering me a bit but is healing. Friday my dh and I went to the zoo and my left knee hurt so bad I didn't think I could walk that much. But I took some Aleve and it seemed the more I walked the better it felt. When I got home I iced it and it's been ok ever since. It hurts only in the morning when I wake up.

Roxie - Don't push it with the runs if your shins hurt. It's good that you are stretching them, but be careful. Ice them, maybe? How's the shoulder?

Nice workouts everyone! You guys kicked some butt since I've been on here. Nice job!!! :)

Debbie-DH told me I am not allowed to run until whatever is wrong with my leg heals and the shoulder comes and goes. Take care of that knee.

Good afternoon,

D19 and stretch is done.

Roxie - you need to listen to your husband:D Good job on your weight workout this morning.

Debbie - your workouts look good as always.

Hi Nora and Chris!

I will be back tomorrow. Have a good one.

Hi girls!;)

Sorry, about my late check in I had to take youngest DS who's 17 to Doctor. Trevor he sliced his finger open yesterday but insisted it wasn't that bad. The doctor's office was closed Sunday of course. So, I called first thing and got him in this morning. Luckily he doesn't need stitches because they can only do within the first few hours while the wound is fresh, this happened Sunday morning so no stitches or glue. The wound looks clean not bleeding so the doc said to keep it clean and bandaged and change fresh bandages daily and watch for infection. Doctor said that cuts like Trevor's that pass the time window for stitches or glue need to heal on their own it just takes longer and means changing bandages daily and checking for any signs of infection. If there is infection found he'll need to be seen and prescribed antibiotics. But that's just an FYI sort of thing at this point so we'll follow doctor's advice and do daily bandage cleaning and changes be watchful. Then Saturday I hit myself just below the eye with my car door, yep swollen and puffy below eye and it did bleed so its been interesting. I will now check in.

Here's today's workout:

Chalean Extreme- Lean Circuit #1= 45 Min
MV= 6.50
CB= 399

CrossFire- PreMix# 9 Timesaver Fitness Blast Plyo/Tabata/Core= 33 Min
MV= 9.0
CB= 405

Total Calories burned= 804

I was supposed to also do a PiYo workout today but I'm tired and my nerves are shot so I did what I could and called it a day. Someone asked what are PiYo workouts like? I do like PiYo and feel great when I do it. The workouts are more Intermediate to low advanced. The aim with PiYo is not to be intense like HiiT or Tabata but more like energized Pilates or Yoga fusion with strength conditioning using your body and core to do the work. I like it as a great add-on workout and great if you need to limit impact, and fab for rest week between workout rotations, and no equipment just yoga mat, towel, and maybe discs if you get extra dvd workout. Ok girls, I'm really wiped and my nerves are shot from worrying about Trevor. Due to the lateness of my check in and stuff I hope you'll all excuse me from doing personals today. I did see you guys are kicking butt with your workouts well done ladies! Roxie, take it easy and back off on running I agree with your DH and Debbie, be safe don't increase chance of injury its not worth it. Take care!

Hugs, blessings, and healing prayers for all : Debbie, Chris, Roxie, & Belinda;):)

Nora

Hi All!

Today was my day after a tough night shift. I did get up and do yoga. STS Yoga Abs and then 20 minutes of Kathy Smith Yoga Flex..

Nora, sorry about your son!! It sounds like you have it under control, though. Thanks for the insight on PiYo!

Debbie, you still lift heavy!!! I have definite DOMS from that very workout I did on Sunday.

Belinda, Barre is a great workout and good to mix it up!

Roxie , You definitely need to rest those shins. I've had splints before, and nothing cures them but rest and ice. They HURT!!!! ...

Good morning,

I just walked the dogs for 45 min.

Chris - I really like SBF barre workouts. Not to crazy and I don't feel wiped out. Hope the yoga helped yesterday.

I will be back later.

Knee is still hurting a bit. I don't really know what is causing this. When I sleep and wake up it hurts really bad. Once I start walking on it and moving around it's fine. When I bend it, it hurts but not bad. I really wish it would just heal. I have been having great workouts and I can't really work my legs until it feels better.

Today I went to the park and walked until the skies opened and it poured on me. Why don't we get normal rain anymore? We seem to only get monsoons here. Anyways, this park is where I grew up. They recently put an asphalt towpath in and it goes through the park and up to a football field that I used to live right in front of when I went to school (my high school football field). So I went into the football field and walked the track once and jogged it the second time around. Then when I was heading back to the park the skies opened. I was soaked by the time I got to my car.

Oh well, I at least got 2 miles in so I'm happy with that. I may do some planks later and maybe an ab workout.

Roxie - Doesn't it suck to have pains when you want to workout? I'm so frustrated with all of this. At least I can work my upper body. I hope your shins get better.

Nora - I'm glad your son didn't need stitches. It's good you took him to the doctors to make sure it wasn't infected. Hope it heals soon!

Chris - Sorry you had a tough shift, that isn't good. I don't envy you with your job. It takes a really special person to do what you do and you certainly are that!! Make sure you get some me time and take care of yourself. :)

Belinda - Great workout yesterday!!!

Good afternoon,

I also did Look Better Naked w/Jessica Smith. I was sweating buckets:eek: Nice Metabolic workout. Have to pull that one out more often.

Nora - how scary! Glad you took your son to the doc. I had my share on doc visits with my kids. Nice workout yesterday.

Chris - sorry about your shift! Hope the rest of the week gets better.

Debbie - great job on your walk today.

I will be back tomorrow. Have a good one.

Belinda- Nice workout today with Jessica Smith's Look Good Naked. I'll have to find a clip of that at Mary's and check it out. Good job on your workout and have a great blessed day. Thanks for the well wishes and comments on my son yesterday.;)

Sorry your knee is bothering you lately. Take care and have a blessed day! Thanks for your comments about my son and the stitches things. Kids always keep you on your toes.;)

Chris- Oh wow that does sound like your night shift was tuff. You amaze me that you did workout after sleeping. Nice job with STS Yoga Abs and 20 minutes of Kathy Smith Yoga Flex.. Hey girls,

Went for a walk with the dogs this morning. I just took a live PiYo class = 58 min. It was great! I had no problem following the class. A lot of planks, downward facing dog/ push ups:confused:I didn't see anything new in this workouts? I seen all the moves in other yoga dvd's. It felt like a fusion class to me. I think the live classes are better than the DVD:eek: On the VF forum, I read a lot of people returning their PiYo dvd's. And no, I will not buy anymore dvd's:p Now, I got this out of my system:p

Debbie - looks like you got a good burn this morning.

Waving Hi to Roxie, Chris and Nora.

I will be back later.

Belinda- Wow, you've had a busy day already. Great job with STS Legs and later this morning you took the dogs for a walk and took a live PiYo class. I bet the Live PiYo Class was fun, glad you enjoyed that. I hear ya on not needing to buy anymore dvds. Have a blessed day! ;)

Debbie- Good for you mixing the XTrain Bi's & Tri's workout up and doing it a little bit different to suit you, awesome job with your workout, you go girlfriend. ;):)

Chris and Roxie I hope you both are feeling good and planned or did a great workout for today. Take care and have a blessed day!;)

Hugs, blessings, and healing prayers;):)

Nora

Nora - I wouldn't buy the dvd, JMO! The moves are too repetitive. I thought my shoulder is gonna fall off with all those downward facing dogs/planks and push ups:rolleyes:I expected something different. I don't think you get a lot of flexibility with these workouts:eek: I am glad I didn't order and jumped on that band wagon:eek: It's just marketing, nothing new or I haven't seen before :roll eyes: I though those workouts are tough on the wrist/shoulder. Good job on your workout today.
