Crazy Strong and Loving It for Jul 28, 2009

Good morning ladies,

I was so tired yesterday; I ended up taking a nap in the afternoon! I also was out like a light around 8 a.m., I needed that sleep. I had no energy yesterday. My sinus is starting to act up again, that doesn’t help. The weather here in Germany isn’t helping either, one day is hot the next is raining. WTH! I was gonna run outside today, have to go to the gym to get my run in.

Patti, I am feeling those 21’s today. LOL! Nice job with LIC yesterday.

Bev, next time I need to lower my weight a little doing 21’s, my form didn’t look so great. Awesome job with LIC Total body sculpt yesterday. Thanks for posting the salad recipe, looks so good. I love salads1

Debbie, glad your knees feeling better. Thanks for the advice; I will lower my weight next time doing 21’s. I know my form was pretty, not sure why I pushed through? I noticed some of my 1RM’s changed in the WM. I have a pinch in my neck today, definatly need to lower my weights for the 21’s.

Karen, how did those leg presses go yesterday? I also hate them.

Chris, hope your AC will be fixed soon, that is sucks! What new Jillian Michaels DVD did you get? LOL, at your DH, at least he is trying to help! I bought a Italian Coffee Maker “La Caffettiera” in Marshells, you can make your own expresso!

Heather, did you lose any weight with STS? I am hoping to drop a few pounds.

Nora, glad I wasn’t the only one feeling that way with those 21’s! LOL! LIC was in the air yesterday! LOL! WTG, on your workouts.

Have a great Tuesday, everyone! Be back later!

Hallo ladies,

I just got done with my workouts! I burned over 1200 calories; I also don’t fell my legs anymore. I went to the gym did CCV6, as I was leaving the gym my DH diver’s wife showed up (she teaches Zamba glasses in the gym), so I thought ok I will watch it for a little bit. LOL! The girl is only 19 years old; she said I should give it a try. So I did! I was sweating my butt off. She was moving her butt so fast, I couldn’t get my$$ to move like hers, lol! I do have to admit, I had a lot of fun and I was sweating my butt off.

I still have to somehow squeeze in some abs, not sure when I will do them today? I am so bopped!

Have a great workout, everyone!

Wanted to get up and run this morning, but it is pouring down. Practically swam into the office! I'll just get it done this evening.

Nora - holy cow what a workout you had. Way to go!

Belinda - sounds like you had one major workout today! Good job (even if you can't feel your legs!). I have yet to try Zumba. With my dance background, I should. But I'm really intimidated by group classes for some reason. Just give me my DVD and the privacy of my living room. As for losing weight with STS. Not sure. I don't ever weigh myself. I can say that I am tighter all over, but not sure if I really lost any pounds. I've seen people post that they lost quite a bit of weight though. It just wasn't my goal.

Heather

I might take a rest day today after all - we will see how today pans out. I am playing hooky again today from work with DH. Yesterday we started working on the rest of the basement again. Hopefully we can get more done down there today.

If I'm feeling energetic otherwise, I might try my new Mindy Mylrea workout "The Workout!". I previewed it yesterday and it looked hard. (to me) My arms have some doms from yesterday - I love that feeling. :)

Good morning ladies. I did Low Max this morning. I switched things around a bit from the rotation because I'll be short on time on Thursday. For some reason that workout has never been a favorite of mine but it seems to be growing on me. And today is Closet Max day! I need to get things better organized around here!

Belinda-I've heard that Zumba is a heck of a workout but I'm sure I wouldn't be coordinated enough to do it. I'm lucky I can do step so I admire you for even trying it in a class.

Heather-I'm just like you-I want to be working out in my own house and nobody looking at me! Send some of that rain over to South Carolina.

Karen-have fun working in the basement.

Patti-I used store bought roast beef and just tried to find the one with the least amount of sodium. Are you all packed?

Well time to get busy. I'll be back later.

Bev

Good Morning,

Tonite is KPC, I swear this week she is trying to kill me with abs there is only 1 day I don't do them. My brother along with my mother think I workout to much they say you only need 20-30min 3 times a week. How are you suppose to get it all done.

Morning! I did 4DS Kickbox in its entirety. I love that ab work, some of my favorite. Plus, it's short. :p

Bev: Thanks on the roast beef tip- I'll try that. Too funny about Low Max- I have never cared for it too much but the last time I did it I liked it a lot more. Yes I'm packed and so excited!

Karen: Hope you get a lot done today- I bought that wo too. I haven't looked at it yet. Mindy isn't what I call mellow so I'm sure it will be a kick in the pants.

Roxie: Everyone is different when it comes to the frequency of working out- I think it depends on your goals. :)

Belinda: Zumba is hilarious! I haven't done it either but want to some time. I love group classes though. :) Don't care if anyone is watching. :p

Heather: No rain here, but I think it's coming tomorrow or Friday.

Gotta work just wanted to say hi!

Roxie - I don't even think that's the minimum the government recommends. I think it's 30 mins most days. I also agree with Patti in that it depends on your goals. I can't imagine only 3 days of 30 mins being all that effective. Maybe for people who eat perfect diets perhaps. I doubt anyone on this thread will say you workout too much ;)

Heather

My mom told me working out is bad for me, period. Ummm, I don't take much stock in that. What we do is what we do, if you are happy working out 6 days a week, then do it. If you are struggling to get through workouts, then you need to rethink it and cut back if neccessary. You can't get gains with only 3 - 30 minute workouts.

Also, working abs more then twice a week is not neccessary. Work them as you would any other muscle group. You are not gaining anything doing them every day.

Debbie - question about your Dec rotation. Week 2 has GS biceps as to do all then repeat. The other muscle groups aren't repeated. Just curious as to the reason. Patti and I may try to do some sort of rotation that includes working out one body part a day. I'd like to know when it'd be appropriate to repeat vs not repeat I can definitely see repeating with the 4DS exercises. I have to say that repeating biceps from GS was really really tough especially after doing the wrist curls. I started struggling big time through the 2nd round.

Thanks,
Heather

hey everyone!

I decided to switch up this last week with workouts, instead of following your last rotation, Debbie. Going to add in a little more weightwork, and then in Aug start lifting heavier with a 4DS/GS rotation , and THEN start back up with STS. I'm really looking forward to another round!

It's very hot, muggy, sunny, sticky here today, day #2 with no AC. I've convinced myself it's no biggie. I grew up with no AC, I survived 20+ years of no AC, I can do 5 days of it! I do my workouts in the basement, so it's a teeny bit cooler/dryer down there.

Today was PUB. It felt good and I struggled on some, esp the biceps. I was proud of myself, because on the Ab work, I did more pikes than I usually do and actually LIFTED one leg on the ball for a little bit (usually I just try). So, YAY ME!!

Belinda: Holy workout-ness!! You rocked today! I'm not a group class kind of person either, but I've heard that Zumba is fun! You burned what Roxie eats in a day! (LOL!!)...

Heather: Hope your rain is short lived and you get one in this evening.

Karen: Enjoy your hooky day today with DH! I always hate taking "sick" days with being "sick", I'd much rather enjoy them. Let us know if you do mindy and what you think of it!!

Bev: I can't do Lowmax TOOO often, I enjoy it more when I don't , it is deceivingly tough though. I have to go back and copy your recipe from yesterday. It sounds good! I'm doing NO stove/oven cooking this week, that salad might be on my menu!!

Roxie: Enjoy KPC tonight! I say skip the abs too. ... I do think that 20-30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week is more for people just starting out. There's no way that would sustain me! I'd be going crazy! .... I think Debbie comments are very wise!

Patti: I'm looking forward to getting back into 4DS next week! They are shorter, but they kick!

off to get my kiddos some lunch!

I did that because the bicep work in GS is short and I felt like the biceps needed to be hit a bit more. You should have gone lighter with the 2nd set if you were struggling and compromising your form. Remember, always train safely.

Debbie - If I do that again (repeating the round) then I think I'll skip the first round of wrist curls. That's what put me over the top I think. I did keep in mind the number of total reps and didn't go as heavy to start as I might have if I'd only done one round. The 2nd set I just considered going to failure and stopped at whatever rep I had to stop at before losing form completely. But I sure gave it the old college try by golly!!!! LOL. There was a moment or 2 when I was thinking you were quite possibly crazier than Cathe!

LOL! Sounds like you did it right. Good for you for giving it the old college try. That is the ONLY way to gain muscle. Push to failure, but don't sacrifice your form. Well done. And I agree, I should have only had you do the wrist curls with the 2nd round. I hate wrist curls so I think I skipped them anyways!

My point on brothers comments is that if everyone thinks that way no wonder we are an obese nation. I feel like a slug if I don't workout.

Chris-to funny about belinda burning more than I eat because yesterday I ended the day at 1000 cals just can't seem to get it back up there never had this much trouble before some days I would go way over.

Debbie-I think I will skip the abs in KPC because I do abs with ME upper body.

Roxie - you are so right about that! I get so frustrated with people around me (friends and coworkers) who have a million excuses as to why they don't workout, can't workout, etc. Or who actually think they are eating right and getting in exercise (like walking dogs for a mile, not quickly, just meandering). I mean, don't get me wrong, walking ones dog is better than nothing, but not when you've just had a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast, 2 cookies for snack, fast food for lunch etc. etc.

And then those very people tell me I need to put meat on my bones when I complain about being cold.

Sorry for the vent...LOL

Heather

Ended up doing Cardio Fusion (518 cals), GS Triceps (72 cals) and Stability Ball abs from basic step (23 cals).

I really wasn't into it at all to be honest. Tomorrow may be a rest day for me.

Hi ladies!:)

I hope you all are having a great workout day, and keeping comfortable during the summer temps where you are.

KPC-Intermediate + Combo 1 & 2 + High premix=53 Minutes
Calories burned= 470

Its 108 degrees here right now, so I thought I did well just to do a workout. I wished the calorie burn was more but I just didn't have the energy today to do any additional cardio added on.

That's it for me, I think I'll go rest now.

Hugs!;)

Nora

I did KPC tonite and I quit after combo 2 TTOM and I am feeling bloated and miserable.

Stats:
55 min
45 in the zone
145 min hr
180 max hr
389 cals burned.
