Crazy, strong and loving it for January!!

Today was yoga and I did Energize by Bryan Kest. Did great with it except it's so hard to be serious with these workouts when you have two cats playing around under you while you are doing Down Dog. And it's impossible to do Up Dog with them laying under you as well. That lasted about 10 minutes and then I was free to do the workout on my own. I love when they help me, though. :)

Only in Kansas can you go from 77 degrees one day to 1-3 inches of snow predicted the next. I liked yesterdays weather alot better its cold today. Tomarrow there is a major realtor get together at my house between 10-12 so it will be a scramble when we get up to make sure everything is perfect. I will do BS Bis and Tris when I get home and Legs for some reason I just don't enjoy working them.

Workout is done: I did Stong + Fit legs w/ JS = 10 min + Best Bun & Leg Shaper with Denise Austin from her Personal Training DVD plus Turbo Jam 2= 43 min:eek:

I am going through all my old wo dvds. I still have some that I haven't even open:confused: I will not buy any more workout dvds until I went through all my wokout collection. I am sure, in the progress I will get rid of some;) I have way to many! Can't believe I am saying this:confused:

Nora - how long is the Les Mill rotation? I loveTurbo Jam. Like I said, I will not buy anymore workout dvds. Let's see how long that last:p Just kidding, need to stop buying anymore workout dvds!

I did my legs today but skipped from the chair part until the stretch my stomach is bothering me today for some reason. I will do Bis and Tris in the morning before the realtors get here.

Today was cardio and I chose Cardio Coach #8. I told you all I wanted to do #7, but 8 is the one I was thinking of. I got the two confused. So I did #8 and had a PUKE STATUS workout. This workout is hard but I did really well with it! Got a great calorie burn.

CARDIO STATS:

Roxie - and I beg to differ with you - we are going to be in the upper 60's today and by midnight tonight we'll be at 28 with snow. So we are right there with you! No wonder everyone is sick!!!

Great workouts so far this week. I enjoy reading about them!

Belinda: that's great you're finding oldies but goodies! I haven't done Pilates in so long, and it's such a good workout. I have way too many DVDs too. Way too many I don't ever use anymore. .... I actually had a good weekend at work for a change!

Debbie: I'm glad your stomach discomfort ending up being nothing. Nice job with CC and yoga!

Roxie: good for you for getting workouts in during your busy moving! I ink that kind of weather has been happening everywhere. We were subzero and today we're supposed to get up near 60!!

Nora: nice going with Combat workouts this week. What does the lower body workout consist of? I'm curious, because I don't have the extra DVDs in the set and wondering if I'd like them.

Monday I did XTRAIN Burn Sets CBS. Some pretty decent DOMS from it!! Yesterday I strayed from the rotation a bit and did Turbo Jam Kickin Core , plus 100 Mason Twists and 22 push ups. Today I'm planning on doing Cardio Leg Blast from XTRAIN

Belinda- here's the link for Les Mills Combat Rotations calendar you can download Team Beachbody - Get Fit: Fitness Tools: Workout Sheets. There are I think three different ones depending on if you got the extra dvds or which schedule you like based on whether you want to workout 5 or 6 days a week, either way it does offer some variety you can mix or match it however works best for you. The Combat workout system is eight weeks long and it just seems to fly by, unlike some of the other rotations of workouts offered by BB. I've noticed that for me my arms are getting more lean and cut looking and my legs are getting really toned, strong, more flexible and better range of motion. Also, my balance is improving too which is always a plus for me. I have been using 1 pound weighted gloves on each hand with it. I do know that the gloves they use in the dvd are not weighted the purpose of those is to keep the wrist in the correct position and supported so to avoid injury. It has been said that weighted gloves are not recommended because it could increase chance of injury due to improper wrist positions so be warned. I haven't had any problems but I do want to one day get the gloves they use to try. Also, I would imagine since their gloves are not weighted allows you to focus more on form and power of punches thrown and have less fatigue, which is good and why I would like to try those. Any way it is a great workout and there is always a modifier in every dvd to show the less impact option but still keeps the intensity up there. If you got some nice DOMS today maybe a nice stretching workout or a rest day is in order. Whatever you decide I'm sure will be great. Take care!;)

Roxie- I hope all is going well with the house selling thing. Wow, that's a lot of snow to wake up to, keep warm and if you have to drive in it be very careful! Chris- Hi! Yes, I'm loving Les Mills Combat workouts, so glad I got the basic and then went back to get the extra dvds as well. To answer your question Lower Body Lean Out is 30 min long and its more cardio based but at a higher level than their regular combat workouts. I think the regular combat cardio's are 7.50 Metabolic Value and this one is at least 8.0 at least that's my call. I do wear my #1 weighted gloves when I do this no other weight is required. The emphasis is more on types of kicks and technique and drills, some plyo work. There are burpees to sprawls, scissors, jumping jacks, alternating plyo lunges that sort of thing. At the end Rach leads us is some ab work but not the usual kind this is more of what you might use in martial arts if your on the floor to kick an attack sort of thing. Its great and then there is the stretch and it feels great. I have done all the Extra dvds and really look forward to doing them as well as all the other Combat dvds and enjoy mixing then up and using them as they show in their rotations. Its all good with BC.

Sorry for not checking back last night. Alesia stopped by for dinner and to dropping of her dog. She is going out of town for a few days.

This is what I did yesterday: a pyramid wo w/Jackie Warner + 20 min UB w/ John Spencer. Later in the everning Alesia and I did Turbo Jam = 20 min.

Nora - thanks for the link. I do noticed that all the beachbody workouts show a modifier. I love Turbo Jam but don't want to spent $80 right now. Not sure about ebay, they do have cheaper sets?

Chris - glad you had a good weekend at work this weekend. I hear you on the the unused/never open dvds.

Roxie - that's alot of snow. How is the house selling going?

Debbie - haven't done CC in awhile, but remember #8 is tough. WTG, yesterday. If I am not mistaken, you did P90X before? If so, how did you like it? And what results did you get? I have the set for over 2 years, ever opend it:confused:

Today was yoga and I did Bryan Kest's Tone. I haven't done that one in a very long time. I was intimidated by it. I think I've only done it a couple times. And although it was hard, and some of the poses burned my knees, I did well with it and I feel great. It's truly amazing how tight your body is when you start out and then by the end of the workout you are stretched and limber. I love it. I'll be doing that one more often.

Today is my mom's consult appointment with the neurologist. I'll let you all know what was said and when her surgery will be when I find out.

Belinda - I've done P90X a couple times through and I like it alot. Tony gets on your nerves after while, but don't all instructors? LOL! Try it, I think you'd like it. The yoga workout in that set is da bomb!

I went to work this morning and it was so boring I left a little early. I need to do HS no Conditioning and Core 1 but again having problems with motivation and being cold isn't helping.

Debbie-hoping your mom gets some encouraging news and please keep us updated. Good job with your workout.

Belinda-we had a group of realtors walk through yesterday and they are suppose to give us feedback so we know what needs to be done.

Belinda- To answer your question about if BB offers Les Mills Combat workouts cheaper than the price you mentioned, yes. You have to go to Team Beachbody - Home and create a username and password (write it down). If you do this and select the free team beachbody membership with a bullet icon then press enter you will then be applicable for a 10% discount for teambeachbody members. When you log in using the username and password you can select shop, then fitness programs and you can select the one you want.
