Okay, I mentioned this in a post a few days ago...that I didn't think I was probably getting enough protein in my diet...and I have since determined that I should be consuming 120 grams of protein a day or 7 servings. There are probably weeks that I don't consume that much so this explains alot for me. I am not a big meat eater...I will divide up one chicken breast between myself and my kids and that is more than enough meat for me. I stopped eating cottage cheese when Dh's high cholesterol was discovered. I will occasionally eat eggs for breakfast or have a hard cooked one on a salad but that is pretty much it. So, now I'm reading that I should be consuming 120 grams of protein a day and that some of that can come from protein drinks.
How do the rest of you on this forum get your daily protein requirement met...are you using protein drinks and if so...which ones and are you having any side effects? I onced tried drinking Carnation instant breakfast but if I had it too frequently I got the runs...not a good situation so I quit buying that.
And in case you're wondering where I got that number...it's from a chart in the book "Body Rx" that a friend loaned me today. I'm just flabbergasted at that amount.
