considering rotations

I have done all my new CTX tapes and I love 'em, but hitting each body part once per week just doesn't work very well for me. I do love the tapes, I just have to figure out how to use them so that I can still hit all body parts twice per week. PLUS, I have to admit (please don't throw eggs, fruits and veggies are OK), I am a Firm lover! I simply MUST do at least one Firm tape a week (as well as at least one Cathe) whatever else I do. SO, here is a rotation I came up with. It hits every body part twice, once Cathe style and once Firm style, plus includes 3 cardio days (two CTX sections and one longer cardio).

Monday- CTX cardio of choice and BBA (either from PS series OR from compiling CTX segments)

Tuesday- Leaner Meaner Keener QUEEN-ER Legs (oops, got carried away)

Wednesday- CTX cardio of choice and CST (either from PS series OR from compiling CTX segments)

Thursday- longer moderate cardio (60 minutes)

Friday- A total body Firm

S/S- rest

(obviously with this rotation I am doing abs on M-T-F, do you think that's enough?)

I really need two rest days but I've never been able to figure out before how to fit in each body part twice a week, PLUS do Cathe, PLUS do the Firm, PLUS have two days off!! I don't know quite how I finally came up with this but I am happy with it!

CTX - PS Rotation

Susan - I like your rotation. Since I'm still waiting for the CTX on DVD,I'll have to wait a while to try it out. I too feel I need to work each body part twice/week, and I am starting to do 1-2 Firms each week. I put my Firms away after I ended a 90-day Firm rotation last March and didn't use them until 3 weeks ago. For some reason I am really enjoying them - I've been doing mostly slow-n-heavy tapes. So I'm looking forward to trying out your rotation. Thanks for posting it and let us know your results.

Rotation

Susan -
I also like your rotation - just printed it off myself. I don't mind doing one body part per day but it does drag it out a bit. I have been combining a couple parts together, usually shoulders and triceps so I could be done quicker. I also need to get more cardio in, so I have been jumping on my stationary bike and doing a high intensity training session for 20-30 minutes, and also walking once or twice a week with my hubby. Need to lose this fat so I can see what wonderful muscle definition on have below.

week 1, day 1 down!! A success!!

Today I did CTX Kickbox and biceps, then popped in the CTX back work and the abs following the back work. It was a 75 minute workout and I feel a littlee jello-y in the upper body for sure but otherwise GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! What fun! Meaner Legs tomorrow, oboyoboyoboy. . . .

week 1, day 2 a sorta success. . .

OK, I finally got up the guts to do Leaner Legs. . . well, almost. I actually quit at the 25 minute mark and opted out of the last eight minutes of legs. . . I popped in a floor legs tape and finished working those shaking puppies out on the floor. But LL is a GREAT tape, I just loved it!!!

So I MOSTLY stuck with my rotation so far. Last night my shoulders were so sore from kickboxing on Monday that I thought I was going to have to modify my week. In bed last night I had pretty much decided to do my THursday workout (long cardio) today and do CST tomorrow, but I woke up this morning and the soreness was all gone! So on with week 1, day 3.

week 1 day 3 and yes I know I'm talkin' to myself!

Yeah, I know I'm talking to myself here! I'm not going to report what I do every day except this first week. . . I am kind of trying to jump-start myself. So here it is, today I did 20 minutes of Christi's Hi-Lo Heaven then did PS-CST (it ended up being a little shorter than adding up the three sections of the CTX series). I have the typical autumn sinusy head cold that many of us have and probably wouldn't have worked out except I knew I would have to report myself here!! I started HLH planning to do all of section 1 and stopped short because once I got warm my nose started running so much! So I did my 20 minute self-imposed bare minimum and popped in PS-CST. Working out helped me feel a tad better for a while till I cooled back off.

That was my Wednesday! Tomorrow is a longer, moderate cardio. . . Looking forward to it, my favorite day in this rotation! I think I'll do step since I haven't done any yet this week. . . StepWorks on a 4" step might be just the ticket!! Or CIA 9901. I just have WAY too many great tapes.

Susan P, I hear ya!

I've been reading your posts every day (waiting for a Cathe reply)! I just haven't had one minute to post here or at VF. I "lurve" your new rotation and if the DVDs ever get here I may even join you ;o) (is that the way to make faces?...we'll see!).

Keep posting!

I'm enjoying reading about your rotation.

day 4, curses, foiled again!

Well, I am running a temp of 100.5 today and feeling WAY too rotten to work out. I was up half the night with my 3 year old who was running 104 last night (down to 101 this afternoon), and just took my 8 year old's temp, guess who else is getting sick, she's at about 100.5 too.

Don't you just HATE it when this happens during the first week of a new rotation that you're all fired up about?? Poop and double poop.

Well, guess I'll go do the RealMoms: No Rest For The Weary workout, which consists of taking care of sick little people while sick yourself. It's part of the Life Gets In The Way tape series created by RealLife Fitness, USA.

Maybe by Saturday I can do Firm Basics Sculpting with Weights for a light workout. . . If not, I'll see y'all on Monday and we'll give this another shot. I really do like this rotation so far.

Susan!

Thank you so much, I was wondering who came up with that workout! Do you have their web address, I'd like to thank them for all the times I've done it.

Seriously, hang in there. You'll be back at your routine in no time flat, with you kiddies cheering you on!

so this happens to others too?

I'm laughing, but not at your feverish state. It seems like everytime I get really anal & make some serious workout plans, I get injured. Of course, there are the little bumps in the road, like a dog that has to go out at 3am or vomits at 5 (they can be like children). Sort of gets the day off to a less than energetic start.

Anyhow, how you feel better soon (the 8 year old too!). Maybe a reset is appropriate for this rotation.

Hope you all feel better soon-

Well Susan-

I wrote your rotation down- it seemed to hit all the things I need too, and I must admit I was looking forward to hearing your results from it. Guess I'll have to wait (not tooooo big a deal as I'm still waiting for my DVDs).

Sorry life had to take this turn, but I guess in the beginning of the school year it is inevitable, isn't it. Yesterday my son came home from kindergarten stung by a yellow jacket. And we promised him a doughnut if he was stung, so we had to pay up (don't ask, this is the sort of thing only a spirited child would think up). Anyway, the weirdest part is that he is less bothered by the sting than by simple mosquito bites which bother him for days with itching, and often secondary infections. Oh well.

Get some rest (really, five minutes in a row is a rest, surely you will get that at least twice today
