Commit to get FIT & LEAN for November!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

May your stomachs be stuffed and your wine glasses be full;)

I have to work today 10-3, an odd short day for me but so be it. Later my family is coming over for thanksgiving. DH is cooking most of it:eek: I will help after work.

Deb-Hopefully your days will calm down a little now. Its been the usual holiday madness at our grocery store. Im glad we don't participate in black friday.

Belinda-Nice workout girl.

Kristin-Nice workout to you too girl. I have never shopped black friday...like you, i just don't have the patience for it. Its just too much for me..

Cookie-Sorry to hear about your foot pain, ugh. I hope your feeling better today. I can relate, i had an ice-pack on my right foot yesterday after work. I've got to get me some new shoes, mine aren't that old but there worn out already.

Lori- wow. Just reading your days is exhausting. I bet your looking forward to when everything calms down a bit. Congrats on your DH passing! Thats awesome. Good workouts too, nice job!

As for me. Nothing new. Last week my workouts were good but this week, not so much. When I wake up in the morning my back is killing me and after work my feet are killing me. Something has to give with all this pain? Im only 34? I know whats wrong with my feet but I plan on going to a chiropractor about my back very soon. My DH experienced lower back pain years ago and a chiropractor really helped him.

ok...Have a great day. Im going to get in a nice walk before work. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

SO last night I did KPC, punching/kicking combos plus the standing leg work and abspremix. That is a gem of a premix, let me tell you ;). Anyway. . . I told all of my classes yesterday that I am thankful for all that I have especially after the storm. I am also thankful for all of them because after having a really bad year last year, they are so good and so sweet that they have sparked my love of teaching even with all the craziness going on with testing and evaluations. It is the truth. I really felt burnt out last year, and I am so happy to be happy to go to work every day again, like my old self.

Amelia- Hope you have a wonderful day as well. Don't work too hard! A chiropractor may be the way to go, especially if you have one you trust.

Lori- How did DH do on the exam, do you know yet? I bet things are so hectic right now for you, but you are a warrior ;), you can handle it.

Deb- good for you for saying no to Black Friday. It should just be called Corporate Greed Day, lol.

Waving hello to Belinda and Cookie.

Eat and drink and have a great day!

Kristin

Hi Girls:)

Started reading the thread and decided that I should probably check in and tell you guys that dh passed his final exam as well. So that's it!!!! There's no backing out now. We are def,def moving now:eek:

Today's workout was PS UB, abs, 20 min run and 30/30. Yesterday i think I did GS bics, 30 mins cardio and LBB standing work.

I decided to have my inlaws in for dinner this evening so I'm just waiting for them to arrive.

Ameila** yeah your right...your to young to have those issues...or at least that's what I keep telling myself:p Any pain I feel or am going to feel is my own doing. All those years of running will catch up to me but I'm not about to stop. I'm guessing there is a happy medium in there somewhere. Enjoy your family this evening!

Kristin** what a sweet teacher you are! I don't know if my teachers felt that way about me growing up;). It's going to get hectic around here. Right now it's not that bad b/c I'm not allowed to pack anything. But when dh comes home and we start going through stuff after the movers take what we are taking and then we have to get rid of the rest...that's going to be interesting. I think we will be having a pretty big yard sale.

I may bbl. The baby will be going to bed pretty early tonight and Ill be relaxing.

Lori:)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Hi girls,

So I made it through the day. Every bone in my body hurts & I didn't even workout! It's not fun when you are sore from cooking & housework. Next year I'm doing more throw away tins, as I was cooking I was cleaning but when dinner was ready I put everything in glassware so it was a big cleanup. My Mom & Aunt they are older & it's too much for them so I sent them home:)

I was thankful for alot this year, you guys included;) For some reason I guess because my Mom, Aunts & inlaws are getting older I was getting sad that someday they won't be here:( We had a beautiful day with surprisingly warm weather.

I hope all of you enjoyed the holiday!!

Lori - It's good that you don't have to deal with Thanksgiving now while you have to pack for your move. Not sure how long you have been in your house but it seems once you have even one child the move gets that much harder (more stuff:)). It's so nice that your still making dinner for your inlaws.

Amelia - It's good that you had a short & sweet day! So nice of your DH to cook. On Wednesday the store was packed, milk was selling out like a snow storm was coming . . . needed to double check the weather:eek:

Kristin - I may checkout some online stores but other than the foodstore LOL. That was a really nice what you told your students about being thankful!

Belinda & Cookie - Wondering if you 2 are as sore as me;) I think we will all sleep like babies tonight.

I forgot to say with all the stress TTOM came a week early & on Thanksgiving.

Goodnight:)

Good Morning:)

Hope all of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving:) Who ate to much? :p

I was a little bummed last night when I found out the appt I found was only 500 square feet. And was it wrong of me to think...."where am I going to workout"? Someone coming in and buying this house right now would be a God sent! I need the money for a down payment on a house....I can't live in a 500 sq foot apart!!!!! Then last night i started to get a little concerned b/c my unemployment will be running out shortly after we get there. I guess it didn't bother me that much before b/c DH could have been sent home at anytime. But like i said yesterday...we really are doing this! Everything always seems worse t night I think. Anyway....

Today the lady from the moving company is coming to go through some things with me so I won't get my workout in until after lunch. It doesn't seem to cold out there today so hopefully I will take the baby for a run. And I think this evening I will wrap a couple more Christmas gifts. Tomorrow I am getting the boys pics taken and on Sunday I am going to start packing:eek:

Belinda** hope you enjoyed your day with your family!

Deb** yeah it's no fun being the one doing all of the work. I am going to miss being catered to this Christmas :p. We always hosted Christmas Eve here and it was pretty much a pot luck. Then Christmas Day was at my SIL's house. I've never had to be the grown up and cook a turkey yet. Not that I couldn't though :)

I will bbl to report my workout!

Lori:)

Morning girls,

Last 2 day's been crazy. Wednesday Alesia and I got suck in traffic after grocery shopping in Fredericks. Took us 2 hours to get home, usually 30 min. Yesterday we cooked all day, didn't get to eat until 5 pm. Aleisa and I cooked for an Army, lol. I but some in the freezer for another day:D

Debbie - Aleisa was afrait we coudln't find turkey, she picked one up on Tuesday. I almost bought a turkey from a farm last year, they wanted close to $200 (organic). LOL! I bought an organic one in Costco instead.

Amelia - hope you had a wonderful TG. Have you seen a doc about your foot/back?

Kirstin - Aleisa, her friend and I went last year shopping for Black Friday, never again. They don't give you
great deal. Good job on KPC.

Lori - congratulations to your husband. That's fantastic! Hope you had a great evening with your inlaws.

Debbie - Aleisa and I were so excusted last night, Aleisa and went to bed before 9 pm. We cooked all day, by the time it was time to eat I was to tired to eat, lol.

I didn't workout in 2 day's:confused: I will report later what I did.

Hi everyone. We had a good Thanksgiving, although it started out rocky. DH and I got into a huge fight yesterday morning. Couldn't even tell you what it was about. It was one of those kinds of arguments. Anyway. . . we made up in time to go to my brother's fiance's house and we had a good time. My future sis-in-law is still feeling burned by my sister, but I have to say I had a relaxing, fabulous time without her there, lol.

Today Jessica and her fam is coming over. We are taking the kids to one of those bouncy places and then out to dinner. I didn't do a workout yesterday, but today was CF plus abs premix, so I took care of the extra calories from yesterday for sure ;)

Belinda- we were watching the news this morning and they were saying the best deals come later in the season and even after Christmas. Too wait in the lines for these "deals" is not worth the aggravation. I have to take a day off for my DS parent/teacher conference. It is on a Wednesday. I might go power shopping that day. No lines, no muss no fuss. A cup of hot chocolate from DD and I will be set :)

Lori- I swear we are so much alike. I don't think about things all at the same time. One step at a time. So I would be freaking a little at this point too if I were you, but I am sure it will all fall in place. Just keep plugging along :)

Deb- I think it was bothering me about my mom yesterday, which might be the reason I started the fight with DH, so I understand what you are saying. I think about how she is now and what she will be like in the years to come. It makes me very sad. :(

Amelia and Cookie- hope you two had a great Thanksgiving!

Kristin

Good evening,

Finally got a workout in:) I did High & Tight = 38 min. Tomrrow I need to get D20 in.

Kirstin -maybe it was the holiday stress:eek: Glad you had fun at your brother's fiance's house. Say Hi to Jessica:D Have fun tonight.

I will be back in the morning. Good night.

Good Evening girls,

This morning was a 2mile power walk with Leslie then 25mins with Cathe (travel fit). My back is still tender...im not sure when I will be able to get in to see the chiropractor so until then im not going to do heavy lifting.

Hello to everyone. I will be back tomorrow.:)

Happy Day after Thanksgiving!
Lori, congratulations to your dh, and a lot of work for you! That's a small apt for all of you. Is your dd moving with you now or later?
Belinda, hope you recovered from all the cooking and prep. It is a busy time.
Amelia, your dh is a keeper - mine doesn't cook at all any more. Honestly, some times I think he believes he does a lot with making coffee. However, he does many other things just not in the kitchen.
Kristin, I've been thinking about next year probably w/o my mom and it is sad. However, I really do think it is why we need to appreciate them now. Bet it was more relaxing not to have the drama yesterday.
Deb, I did a little online shopping but there was no way I wanted to go near a mall. Does the yoga help you with stress? How is your fil doing?
Went for a walk today and my feet are alright so far, TG! Been doing a lot of rolling and massaging them so perhaps that's helping. Found out the rash is psorasis, mostliking caused by stress. Trying to tell my dh that I should retire for my health!
Cookie

Hi,

I took a yoga class today, thought it would be hard to get a floor spot but everyone must have been at the mall. I also stopped at the foodstore for a small turkey because I gave away most of the leftovers and no one there either:) My younger DS doesn't eat too much junk food anymore so I'm sure this turkey will be gone in no time too!

Belinda - Wow, 2 hours traffic:( especially when you have so much to do. I was wishing I had daughters to help out on Thanksgiving. So sweet of Alesia to help out.

Lori - Your right everything seems worse at night. Kudos on getting everything done & soon you'll be packing!

Kristin - I had an argument with DH too yesterday morning. It's weird how the holidays are sad, stressful & happy all at the same time. I hope you had fun today with Jessica & your families.

Amelia - I find sometimes heating pads work for my back.

Cookie - My FIL is doing really good, he is still on some strong medicine but he is home. My Mom has had psorasis for most of her life. They were offering deals online too but just looked today:)

Goodnight:)

Good Morning:)

Seems like I've been up forever. I woke and started thinking about stuff and I couldn't get back to sleep. So at 6 I decided to get up and see what I could find online for DS for Christmas. Of course I found some things at amazon but they only shipped two of those things here:mad:. So I found a couple of things on eBay but I think I need a few more things to make me feel like I've got stuff for him. I'm not worried about DD cause I am paying for driving school and we are going to go shopping soon and of course the baby doesn't know the difference. I think I keep forgetting that I'm going to have DH's help as well. I'm just so use to doing everything alone. Having another set of hands will be nice.

Yesterday I went for a run with my running partner and today I'm going to do a circuit I think. I haven't fully decided yet. But I need to start working out soon cause I am having the kids pics taken today.

Deb** I guess everyone was home nursing their turkey hangover.....at least you got a good spot at yoga:)

Cookie** so your dh didn't buy into your retirement? Lol. Wouldn't that be nice? And here I am trying to find it in me to go back to work soon! Can't believe that year is up. DD is coming with us for the original move but then she's coming back apparently:(. We are still hoping she will stay!

Ameila** good job getting your workout in

I may bbl today! Have a good one!

Lori:)

Morning girls, quick check in before I get started with my day.

I have inventory today at work. We used to do it on Sunday mornings now we have to do it on Saturday evenings  Whatever...i just go with the flow and try not to complain too much:)

Deb-Yoga sounds nice. Good job getting it in yesterday...sounds like everyone was out doing some black friday shopping instead of at the gym or grocery store. About the heating pad - i had one but my dog chewed the cord and I just keep forgetting to buy another one:confused:

Lori-Exciting things going on in your life right now! Congrats to your DH and I hope you have a stress free move. Nice job with your workouts! I need to start my x-mas shopping too.

Cookie- Retire girl, you deserve too. LOL at your comment about your dh making coffee and thinking he's doing a lot. Hope your foot keeps feeling good. I need to throw ( or place, lol) a can in the freezer so I can start rolling my foot as well. I keep forgetting about that.

Belinda-Great workout yesterday! Love the name;)

Kristin-I had to lol at you and your Dh's fight. Its so funny when we start an argument and then it kinda escalates into "what are we arguing about?". I too had some words with my DH Thursday evening after my family left - my dh said "oh you just want to argue with someone" then he rolled his eyes and left the room. For the first time in years I didn't have anything else to say:confused:

ok...time to get off this time-sucking computer and get my workout in. Not sure what im doing yet? I would love to do weights but afraid I will hurt my back. Its still tender:( . I guess a walk with some body weight - low impact strength training.

Have a great weekend:)

Good morning,

Today I will do D20 or D21?

Kirstin - I didn't shop on Back Fiday, except went to Costco. Bought a wall mount for my TV half off. I went shopping on BF last year, never again. They had no good sales

Cookie - glad your feet doing better. What are you doing about the psorasis? LOL! about the retiring.

Debbie - yeah, the traffic around DC/Fredricks is crazy around this time. A lot of people comuters. Aleisa loves to help, so thankful.

Lori - so what did you buy on ebay, lol? I am always afraid to buy from ebay. Good job with your workout.
See you later.

Amelia - high & tight is from Beachbody. Love that workout, that one get your good. Take it easy on your back.

Hello ladies. not much going on today. We went to Lowe's to get Christmas lights for outside and now DH and my younger DS are busy getting the front yard ready for the holidays. Just finished AT. Thinking about what kind of rotation I want to do next month. Not sure what my focus should be strength or cardio/circuits. I am leaning more towards strength. Then I am not sure if I want to do TB workouts or splits or STS. Cannot decide. I may go back an look to see what Cathe posted for a December rotation last year.

Belinda- the great thing about Costco is you don't have to wait for a sale to get a deal there. I love that store, not just because DH's company works for them and Costco is his bread and butter, lol. It is great. We get our milk and eggs there because we go through them so fast.

Amelia- My DH and I tend to go through cycles and we were due for a blowout, lol. Glad to get it over with before we went to Thanksgiving dinner. Anyway, men. . . what are you going to do? He said I was acting irrational, and I took offense to it. Lo and behold guess what came a few days early last night. .. my TOTM. That doesn't mean anything though, right? HAHAHAHa.

Lori- I started browsing the internet as well for ideas for Christmas. Didn't buy anything just yet though. I am getting ideas at this point, lol.

Deb- That is too funny, it seems everyone had "tiffs" with spouses. My parents used to always host big family holiday dinners and right before our company would arrive they would get into it. My dad was the one who always stressed out about it. That is what DH and I reminded me of on Thanksgiving, my parents. .. which freaks me out!

Cookie- I feel awful saying it, but the truth is I did have a fabulous time without my sis and the drama she brings. It was so peaceful with no tension from her end. I just feel badly for my parents. I know it bothered them that she didn't come.

Okay off to shower!

Kristin

Hi,

I'm about to do Muscle Max while my dinner cooks in the oven another turkey:eek: Ugh, forgot about the carving part but maybe DH will help. It seems all I have been doing is cleaning, cooking & laundry all weekend, work is looking better & better LOL.

Belinda - I like your script font in your thread. I didn't realize your that far along with STS. I'm not sure what to do because as soon as the new DVDs arrive I'm going to want to try them.

Lori - It's weird that some places won't ship to you. You would think they would want the business. Just imagine when you have DH's help you will have so much free time;)

Amelia - It's funny how dogs chew the strangest things. The manager at our gym told me her puppy chewed her expensive pair of leather boots:confused:

Kristin - I blamed DH for stressing me out & causing TTOM to come a week early LOL. I couldn't believe how many people have their lights up already. I think some just keep them up & plug them in the day after Thanksgiving:)

Cookie - You had asked me about stress & yoga. I think the format of the yoga class is what works for me. She starts with a 5 minute sitting pose (usually my heart is beating fast) where you calm down & goes into about 30-35 minute strength/power poses moving quickly thru the poses, about 5-10 minute stretch poses & finally about 5-10 minute lying down pose which she verbally guides you to calm down (which is like a mediation). I'm thinking you could just do 5-10 minute mediation to any workout & would have the same affect. Her music is yoga music mixed in with soft rock.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend:)

'Evening!
Belinda, high and tight - they sure have great titles. Does it work as claimed? I agree w/you on going out shopping on BF - never again. About 25 years ago I needed to get new tires and even that, yes tires(!) took forever.
Kristin, perhaps your parents didn't miss the drama but still hope for the Rockwell version of Thanksgiving. Amazingly no incidents for us this year, and we had three family dinners.
Amelia, I ordered a fitbit and got a shipping notice! I'm so excited. My dh isn't all that happy w/my retirement discussions, mostly 'cause he's jealous. If I do it will be in a year and a half, w/the agreement with dh that I'll still do those outside consulting jobs.
Lori, hope you've starting making your lists of what you have to do. Good thing you are organized. It is so exciting.
Deb, glad to hear your fil is doing well. The dr told me mine is almost definitely from stress. I'm going to do yoga wo a few times a week in the evenings to help w/sleep.
Upperbody today. No walking today other than around the house and a couple of short errands. Off to friends for a beverage.
