Commit to get FIT & LEAN for January!

I'm here! I'm here! Geez..you girls get all stressed out when I disappear for a couple of days;)

So yesterday morning was when I spent a little time at the dealership. She told me to come in for a couple of hours and that's all I planned. I'm not sitting there all day, watching, learning and I may not even have the job. So at 11'ish I decided to head out but I wanted to talk to the manager first. She was on the phone and she said "are you going for lunch?".... Yeah, not quite. I think she's very busy and gets things mixed up. I had a chat with her before I left and she also had another girl in on Tuesday to do the same thing. She told me that she had a lot of good candidates and she was hoping to make her mind up by yesterday evening. I haven't heard anything but in saying that, I missed 3 calls in my cell. The other side of the coin is that the energy centre (where I would do my PT'ing from) has a opening for fitness monitor. That's where I want to be. But do I turn down this other job (if she offers it to me) hoping to get the other one? Or should I take the other job and forget about the gym and just to PT on the side? The gym job pays a little more but the other job as major room for growth. A lot of the girls there started out answering the phones and have went on to other projects. Yesterday I had my mind made up that I wasn't going to take it and today I was thinking I would. I dunno.....of course if I don't get offered the job, problem solved.

Last night I did GS and BS chest/shoulders and HR abs. Today I did 4.5 miles in the TM, 3 sections of tabatize and GS & BS bics/ tris. I didn't plan on running for that long but I had tons of energy from not doing the cardio the day before and the music I was listening to was fun

Belinda** I hear ya on the bics curls. Does DD have a gym membership then? I keep asking DD to workout with me but she won't. She says that I keep telling her what she is doing wrong. I said I wouldn't be a very good PT if I didn't.

Kristin** sounds like your happy with work:) does that stuff stress you out any?

Ameila** that was funny about the falcon cakes...it wasn't what I was expecting you to say.

Deb** when is your trip again? And who is going? I would love to see those temps right now. It's pretty cold here. I'm getting those little cracks in my thumbs that I get when my skin is dry and they kill! Every winter it's the same.

Cookie** my friend use to have a move scotia duck tail. They are high energy but they are so beautiful. But there's your reason to run twice a day:p

Phatgyrl** gotta love the surprise weddings. I think we are pretty much done with weddings unless we met people in our travels. But most of our friends are married now.

Hope I got everyone! Bbl!

Lori:)

Good evening all. Today's workout was CF Low Impact Tabata premix plus Xtrain Burn Sets Bis and Tris. My arms have such a good pump in them right now. Too bad it is way to cold for a tank top, lol. My younger DS wants me to put in a mad face. I keep telling him I am not mad, but he won't stop so here it is. . .:mad::mad:. Now he is asking where the made face is, because it doesn't show up until after you post, lmao.

Lori- I do stress out over test scores now. I hate spending all this time focused on testing too. It is a waste in my opinion. I didn't get tested like this going through the public school system, and I feel that I made out more than okay. I went on to college and have two degrees. I don't understand the need for all the testing. These kids are overloaded and it is sad. We can have quality education without the crazy test-driven instruction.

Belinda- I have yet to do the 80 minute legs premix. Too long for me these days. I have switched it up though. For the first to weeks I did the legs premix with delts, without barre. Yesterday I did barre, ball and chair, floor premix. I think changing it up like this will get me good results. I have major glute DOMS today ;)

Phatgyrl- how'd you make out with burn sets? I love the core workouts in this series. Core #2 is a little harder though. Gets me everytime. The first I did core #2, it hurt to laugh the next two days. Ouch!

Deb- freezing my butt off in the car this morning I was thinking of you escaping to beautiful Hawaii in a few weeks. SO very lucky!!!

Waving hello to Amelia and Cookie!!!!

Kristin

Hi,

I didn't have much time today so I did 2 combo's from LIC step is always hard for me since I don't do it much. Now I'm ready to jump in bed wishing I had an electric blanket (wondering if they still sell them).

Belinda - I love turbo jam's too, so much fun & a really good workout too! How often do you visit dd?

Lori - Do you miss your old job? I would wait & see which job comes up & works best with your schedule. My gym has childcare, is that an option at the gym job? We leave in 3 weeks.

Kristin - I've never gone away this time of year but it would be great to escape the cold even though it will go back to the 40's next week a heat wave:) Too funny about your little one & hopefully you won't need to use that mad face either;)

Amelia - I forgot about Valentine's Day, but that must be a fun one.

Cookie - Another benefit with DS's working out we can ask them to move things:) Do the dogs mind the cold?

phatgyrl - Do you get weekends off? My DS rented one of his books, didn't know you could do that but it was still expensive.

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, never tried turbo fire. Did you say it is low impact?
Amelia, agree w/Kristin, your comment about the Falcons wasn't what I was expecting. How's the tracking?
Lori, guess she's trying out folks and getting work out of them for free! Sometimes my kids wouldn't want to do things I'm interested in as a way of asserting their independence. Then in a few years, their interests aligned more w/me. They don't know I secretly smirk at that.
Kristin, I know you're not a fan, not many are! My head spins trying to keep with things. Said they're got to do pr on upcoming assessment results which will be different because of complexity of CCLS.
Phatgyrl, homework! Two four-letter words together = not good. Better you are a master of time management.
Deb, yes, love having strong hands to help move things. Is it the cold temps affecting your energy?
Didn't get home from a mtg til 10:30 last night. Trying to catch up on yesterday's emails this morning. Stepping on bosu barefoot is not bothering my foot, so that's my new cardio. Not like Cathe, but at least it is something.
Cookie

Morning girls, I'm off work today -yay-

Well, my wwer plan this week hasn't been great. Just get kinda overwhelmed sometimes with life:confused: This time around with WWers I have a feeling its going to be a very long journey. It may take me a while to get the weight off. But maybe it should this time - maybe I will learn to keep it off for good?:)

Yesterday I woke up with every intention of getting in a workout but I ended up talking to my DH instead. When he works nights and I work days that leaves little time for us to talk. I meant to workout yesterday after work but boy was I tired - I know it sounds like a lame excuse, but I just didn't have it in me to pull out yesterday:confused:

Luckily I'm off work today so I plan on getting in a good, solid workout. cardio & some upper body weights:)

bbl to report

ok...just kick some butt. Did 40mins of power walking + Xtrains Burn sets All upper body:D . Around 100 minutes of total workout time.

I will bb later. Gotta run to the grocery store.

Good Morning:)

I'm so sore from yesterday's workout:) and the workout the day before:eek:. My back is also sore and I didn't even work back. I was hoping to do back today but I don't think that will be happening, unless it loosens up. It may be more rear delts then back.

Kristin** I laughed about the mad face! DS use to want me to put the happy face ones on the page. I think I would conveniently put them in but they were happy faces...I didn't need to explain. He's obsessed with happy faces, btw. He has a bucket of little yellow men in his room with happy faces and when we use to buy him balloons it would have to be the big round yellow happy face...:)..lol. Being tested stresses me out too. When I did the CPR test last weekend I had this fear of failing! Meanwhile I got 88!

Deb** I do miss my old job even though it was boring. It would have been nice to go back to plus I knew my sitter. Right now, I haven't met my sitter and she lives on the other side of town so it might make for a longer day, unless we buy a house in that area. I don't know if I like the idea of starting out new somewhere:p. I'll never get my own way!

Cookie** she didn't get much free work out of this gal! The girl I was watching asked me around 11 how long I was staying for and I told her I was soon heading out. She said "well you have to answer the phone at least once before you go" big woopity do! I don't know if she realized that that was part of my old job. Phones don't scare me. But she kept acting like it was super scary or something. She wasn't overly friendly. I'm sure we'd get along fine but she wasn't all warm and fuzzy.

Ameila** get back on that horse! If you don't help yourself no one else will!:p enjoy your day off!!

So we have another house viewing today and a friend of ours is now interested in our house. He wanted to know what's the lowest we would go without the real estate involved. Buy who knows...I've learned to not get excited about things cause they usually don't happen. But this is the way things usually work...two people interested at the same time.

Oh,...and today I'm cutting back on the sugar. I ate way to much yesterday!!! I lose track sometimes...just not good for me!

Bbl!
Lori:)

Back with personals

Lori-Im hoping the house viewings go well. Nice job on the Doms.

Deb-Nice job with LIC - and 'yes' I think they still do make electric blankets:)

Cookie-I almost got a bosu ball last year when my knees were bothering me. They sound fun and just something new to do. Glad its not bothering your foot and BOO on the late meeting. Wow, thats really late:confused: My tracking this week wasn't as good as last week, unfortunately. But im hanging in there:)

Kristin-Awesome workout Wednesday (or was it thursday?) anyhoot. Love the mad faces the other day too. I miss the 'evil smiley' that we used to have on here. Remember it?

Belinda-I did another Leslie workout today. This dvd is called "The Ultimate 5 day work plan" its was fun. How many Leslie's do you have? Or do you do You tubes versions?

phatgryl- I hear ya on the full time job & workouts. I too love timesaver premixes. How was burn sets the other day?

So, my manager ticks me off the other day. She calls me when I get home from work with a slight attitude in her voice asking 'why I didn't do the cake orders'. I told her I looked in the cake order bin ( a plastic organizer system for cake orders) and didn't see any. She said there was two and that the customer was mad and wants her cake for free. I tell her im sorry it was an honest mistake. She says "its ok" then we say good bye.

After hanging up with her I think Ok - I was by myself for about 4 hours today doing a job that usually requires two people, she was at a mandatory meeting and I never got a lunch break. Why call me after I've left to b*tch about it? There is nothing I can do? Why didn't she just do the damn cakes? I have NEVER called her at home about something she can't do anything about:mad:

Hey Ladies:

So I did the timesaver for burn sets upper body. Lets just say I don't sweat much with weight work only. Yesterday I did. I think I nice run and stretch is in the works for tonight.

Have any of you done the Cathe yoga tapes? How are they?

Searching the internet for good lunch ideas...I am bore with my selections lately.

Hi,

I took yoga today. I had off today but again running too many errands, went to get my haircut & was there for almost 2 hours. The girl who cuts my hair is my SIL bf and we were catching up on a lot of things. When I go to they gym I fall behind on the rotation need to catch up.

Belinda - What are you up to this weekend?

Lori - I would think you must wake up sore everyday with the workouts you do;) You need to incorporate massages in your schedule:)

Kristin - I'm sure your enjoying a skinny drink or 2 after this week, but you earned it!

Amelia - It's great that you double up on workouts when you have the time & skip when you need a break or life gets in the way. I finally asked DH, I didn't realize Atlanta didn't make it in the Superbowl:eek: My hairdresser was running a Superbowl pool so I'm in it so now I have something to look forward to.

Cookie - The bosu is a good workout, maybe it would work for Belinda too! Do you sleep in late on weekends?

Phaygyrl - I really like Cathe's yoga tapes. I go to the gym because it forces me to get out of the house at a reasonable hour otherwise I might not leave.

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, where oh where have you gone? Hope all is well.
Lori, starting over is hard and the saying is the only one who likes change is a baby with a dirty diaper. You should get a Duck Tolling - it would be able to keep up with you! Sweet but definitely high energy. Plus she bounces and jumps like a gymnist. Good luck on the house hunting.
Amelia, you're being realistic about life. It is a constant struggle. BTW, I call it the constant feeding and attention of husbands! But the investment is worth it to keep a good one. You're definitely inspiring me to be more careful with my food. Thanks.
Kristin, how did you week end? Hopefully all is well. Basketball this weekend?
Phatgyrl, about 15 yrs ago I went back for another masters while working ft and kids at home. It was a huge juggling act. Glad I did it 'cause learned a lot, but have no idea how things got done. Definitely got a lot better w/organization and time mgmt during that time.
Deb, Cathe's yoga workouts are good. I remember it was w/you that I first felt enamored with yoga. I got my hair done yesterday also. But it always takes 2 hrs! They schedule so many people in that two hrs is almost like the minimum I expect to be there. Now I try to get in during the week so I don't give up half a Sat. Wish I had a closer relationship with my sils. Just don't see them much.
These dogs do not understand it is the weekend. Don't need an alarm clock - every morning same exact time! Then it doesn't help that I seldom am able to get back to sleep. Gave me chance to catch up on reading the mail, newspapers, and catch up on a few emails. A teacher wanted me to meet her today to help in her planning but since I didn't want to drive an hour into work on a weekend - she agreed to come here. Snow and cold does not make me want to leave the house for work. BIs/Tris today and a hockey game tonight.
Cookie

Morning ladies,

We have no heat in our house since yesterday:confused:. They guy who come out yesterday told us the part for the heater isn't coming until Monday or Tuesday, WTH? Yeah, we have a pellet stove and heat upstairs is working. It's cold downstairs, no matter how you shake the stick. After I heard no heat until Monday/Tuesday..I was like what about overnight shipping? Hallo? He said he would make some phone calls and the found the part. Hopefully he can put the part in today. it's freezing cold in my living/kitchen. Yesterday DH and I went and bought a space heater for the living room (it clams it covers 1000 sqft, right) I think after the repairman fixes the heater, I will return the space heater.

I did managed to get a UB and abs in last night.

Cookie - I follow CJ's modifier. Costco is selling the Bosu. I almost bought one. Glad it's helping your foot.

Debbie - good job last night. Last weekend Aleisa stayed with us, lol. This weekend she has plans with her friends. I am sure DH and I will visit her soon, lol. We still need to hang up her curtins.

phatgryl - good job keeping up with your workouts. Lots of awesome yoga workouts on youtube;)

Amelia - I saw that one from LS in Costco for only $8. I don't own any of Leslie S dvds, lol. No need to buy any:eek:. This year I will not buy any workout dvds.

Lori - how many cal do you recomment to your clients? I talked down the price on our house. DD apt has 3 very nice gyms. No need for a gym membership.

Kirstin - I lose interst in 80 min long workouts, lol. I like the shorter workouts.

Not sure what I will do today?

Will be back later.

Good Morning:)

I didn't have a real good day yesterday. I was a little homesick and then the viewing on my house went side ways b/c the girl renting had to do mandatory OT and she couldn't get home to clean the house and get her daughter. She only gave me an hours notice, mainly b/c that's all she was given and then I couldn't reach the agent. Then...we went out and did a few things and when I got out of the truck I fell:confused:...it was close to crying time. Needless to say I had a drink at 4:30!

Yesterday's workout was 20 mins on the TM, tabatasize 4-5 and GS standing leg work. Today will be GS and BS back, I'm not sure if I'll run (I should cause I just bought new sneakers) or something else.

Ameila** that would tick me off too. She should have spent less time whining and more time doing the cake. She should have known you didn't leave it there on purpose.

Deb** a massage would be wonderful. I don't have this place fully scooped out yet, I'm not sure where the spa is or how many there are. I'd like to have a facial too. How often do you do yoga? I need to start squeezing it in.

Phatgyrl** I still haven't tried cathes yoga! I need to though. There are still DVDs in the low impact series that I haven't done yet.

Belinda** she told me to list the house around what we wanted it for. I think people tend to knock some off but not a whole lot. The house we looked at last week was offered less at one point and they turned it down. I think they were only budging by a couple thousand. I guess you aren't spending to much time in your basement if its cold!!

Cookie** I don't even have the dog we have here yet! He's still home with the girl who is renting our house! Lol. It's a good thing she is a friend of mine. I guess I would have had to send him with my parents if she didn't take him. I was hoping he'd be here by now but dh doesn't think we should bother until we have our own spot. He's a barker....

I will bbl to report my workout!

Lori:)

Hello ladies! Yesterday was my rest day, and I needed it. My legs were still sore from the leg workout on Wednesday. DS had basketball with DH, and I took my other DS to a colleague's house. She is have her formal observation next week and she does not know how to use her SMARTboard and the notebook program it comes with, so I showed her some things and helped her construct a lesson. Her lead evaluator is an idiot, who is always tearing everyone down. I am so happy I don't have her as a lead evaluator. I would have had a heart attack by now. The girl that I helped is so stressed and she is five months pregnant. She was in tears last night. I told her in my "sailor language" to focus on the baby and to hell with everything else. She is working hard and doing her job. She is an ELL and special education teacher and the students she has will not do well on the ELA because they are limited and they cannot handle it. She could stand on her hand and juggle and it won't make a difference. This is what I hate about this system. It is ridiculous. Not every child will fit in the "circle." Some are just freakin' square pegs, you know?:mad::mad: This lady is dedicated to doing her job well and it is so sad to see her so insecure and so upset AND pregnant on top of it.

Okay, getting off my soap box now. I did All Out today, added the core #1 and the scarecrows 100 rep challenges. I am really starting to see shoulder definition, which is hard for me to get. I am happy about that. :)

We are going out to dinner with friends and no kids.Woo hoo! Should be fun. I cannot wait to have a few hours with just adults and some drinks, I need a Skinnygirl, lol.

Lori- you and I have gotten together for a drink yesterday if we didn't live so far away. I could have used one. I plan on having a few tonight ;) I'm sorry you were feeling homesick. I'm sure once you get settled in your own house things will get better. One day at a time. I don't think it helps that all this is going on in the middle of winter. I don't know about you, but the cold and darkness of winter depresses me. I am good until after New Year's and then I just feel so blah until spring.

Belinda- I hear you on the 80 min workouts. SOmetimes I will double up and do two workouts, and that will equal around 80 minutes, but I guess with that I don't get bored because it is different workouts? I just cannot go for the 80 minute leg premix, lol. I love Body Max 2 and Butts and Guts. Come to think of it though, I usually do the shorter premixes on those, lol. Well, there you go! No heat is crazy. How cold is it by you? We are in the teens up here! It is awful. Oh and last night it snowed. My the time I left my colleague's house there was two inches on the ground. I hate driving at night to begin with, nevermind with snow. I had younger DS too, so I was driving very slowly.

Cookie- am I understanding you correctly? Are you saying that King is prepping everyone and wants to do PR because the tests are going to be that much HARDER? What kind of PR are we talking about? Ads that say that although the tests are harder and a form of child abuse for special education students, please tell your child to try his best. Oh, and if your child does not do well, remember to blame your child's teacher! :D:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:DS doesn't have to ask me to use mad faces today!

Deb- I need a haircut, a skinnygirl drink, and a trip to Hawaii. .. wanna take me instead of DH? LOL.

Amelia- I do remember that evil smiley. What happened to it? Hmmm. . . Don't beat yourself up when you slip up with WW. Every day is a new beginning. Everyone slips up every now and then. We are human not robots and it is bound to happen. Your boss is a piece of work. I think that with cell phones and email, our time off is never really our time off. Bosses and administrators seem to think there are no longer any needed boundaries. That is what we need. .. boundaries. Family time. Personal time.

Phatgyrl, burn sets get me good. It is short, so it is deceptive. You think, oh this won't be so bad. Ten minutes later your veins are popping in your upper body and sweat is dripping from your forehead. You are on fire. Maybe that's why it's called burn sets, :).

Okay, off to shower and get ready. Gotta put my face on, lol.

Kristin

Morning ladies,

We got heat again, yeah!
Yesterday I did 45 min walk.

Kirstin - aww...about your friend. It's been snowing her for a few day's now and it's freezing cold. Not ideal weather for the heater to brake, lol.

Lori - the house market is picking up again. Good luck on a finding/buying a house. So glad it's over. It took us over 8 month before we moved into our house. ROFLMAO, it's happy hour somewhere around the world, right? ((HUGS)))) sorry you are a little homesick!

Waving Hi to everyone that follows.

I will be back to report my workout. Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone.

Good Morning:)

Yesterday's workout was 35 mins on the TM, supercuts, GS and BS back. I'm not sure what I will do today. I haven't been awake long enough to think about it.

Kristin** I tried those skinny girls over Christmas and I liked it. I didn't like the martini one so much, it was very bitter. Maybe if I added a splash of something to it. When we went out for dinner Friday night I had two martinis and they were pretty good. I think I need to find some recipes and start making my own. Who cares for the 7up and juices..lets just start drinking straight alcohol:p Hooe your head isn't to big today!

Belinda** heat is good:eek:. The heat in this house Is weird. Downstairs is a lot colder then upstairs but I don't live downstairs so who cares;). We had a viewing yesterday that went really well. They just need to sell their home first. See, you never know if these people are actually interested when they are looking at your house or not. They could be like us and "just looking". So every time I hear someone is looking at our house I get a little excited but in the meantime, I don't know what their situation is.

I will bbl to report my workout!

Lori:)

Hey ladies!! Just checking in! Been doing inflation calculations and working on a paper about the great depression for macro econ all saturday so no workout. I have a little more research to do them I am going to go for a run cook dinner and get back to studying. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Also I wanted to ask. Since Jan is almost over do we stay in this thread or does someone create one for every month?

Hi all,

I just finished a mix of workouts: I did Slim Sculpt Pilates with Bands (UB/LB /ABS) for 30 min. Really liked it! And it was tough, lol:confused:. Than I did 10 min abs on the ball, followed by Cindy Whitmarch "Fat Burn Circuit" 22 min. Great mix of workouts.

Lori - great job on your workout today. Our basement is the coldest:confused: we have a pellet stove down there. That helps. Glad your viewing went well yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed:)

phatgyrl2 - we start a new thread very month. Anyone can start our thread, I am usually up early and start us off:eek: I am a light sleeper:(

Now it's time to relax. Dinner is in the crock pot, it smells so good. I will be back in the morning. Need to map out my workouts for next week;)

'Evening!
Belinda, we seem to be going thru many similar things lately - foot problems and no heat. Two weeks ago the power went out in the evening and came back on midday the next day. Cold! Anyway, the next day the fan in the furnace broke - OMG that was really cold. January has been a very expensive month for us. Glad you got heat, with this weather it is needed. Love a crockpot! Don't know why I didn't use it til a few years ago...
Kristin, yes he said PR will be done. Yesterday a teacher drove an hour to my house and arrived by noon to plan for her obs on Feb. 14. Since her principal will be at a conference, the pre is on Feb 1 and her plan has to be in this Tuesday. It was so hard to plan that far in advance. She ended up leaving just before 10 pm, and we really were not chit-chatting but working. Ended up not going to see the hockey game.
Amelia, do you use the forums over at WW? My sister used to say that most of those folks didn't do much exercise. Wondering what you think?
Lori, are you sure you're not part NS duck tolling? Your workouts must take hours! Do you pick up good decorating ideas when you look at houses?
Phatgyrl, do you like your macro econ class? You must be a master at juggling things. Keep up the workouts to help with stress But definitely keep checking in.
Deb, so when I woke up and it was below 0, I thought of you going to Hawaii soon. Did you start dress shopping?
Did c,s,b today. I'm really liking xtrain. There are some different exercises, they seem to move fast, and I'm feeling them. Managed a walk with the dogs. Progress!
Cookie

Hi,

Since my fav instructor was a sub for yoga today I went. The other instructor who I don't know was doing a segment on "Good Morning America" on yoga for dogs:confused: I also did BS bi's & spent the rest of the day cooking a sauce & wore some of it this time:eek:

Yesterday I spent most of the day with my SIL & a friend we grew up with. We had a lot of laughs. At one point exercise came up & my friend said she doesn't because she doesn't want to exert herself I cracked up & said I love to exercise. I wanted to get into it more because she seemed to be struggling with walking & getting up from seating but I don't think she's ready for it:confused: She's not that overweight but I think it takes it's toll on you when you get older.

Belinda - TG for heat! It's a good thing that you pushed for the part:) It's great that DD isn't too far from you. Your workouts sound fun.

Lori - I try & do yoga 2 days a week. I was just telling DH not sure why but power yoga studios are popping up all over our town:confused: & they are so expensive it's a bargain that my gym has a studio yoga instructor & I pay per month instead of by the class. Sorry you were feeling homesick & crossing my fingers that your house sells soon too! I'm wondering what is going thru your dogs mind same house but where did my family go LOL.

Kristin - That is terrible about your co-worker to be under that kind of stress:( sending her positive vibes that all goes well for her too. Not sure (maybe it's in the book) but how should you incorporate the 100 reps in the workouts? Is it in your rotation?

Amelia - I saw lots of heart cakes at the foodstore today:) but next week there will be footballs too! Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow.

Cookie - I wonder if you are 1st person of the day if your appt. would be shorter. I didn't realize you were a hockey fan. I've been looking at dresses but it is stressing me (casual, dressy, color??).

Phaygyrl - I hope you were able to get in all your research. We're lucky Belinda usually starts the thread each month, sometimes I forget it's a new month:eek:

Goodnight:)
