Commit to get FIT & LEAN for January!

Good Morning:)

A little late getting here. We slept till 7:30 again:eek:...feels good though but when we sleep that late there is no computer time until the kids are out the door. Then when they left I made the beds, cleaned up, ironed (which I hate) and here I am:)

I am thinking today will be ride and legs. I am in the mood to run but if I do those two workouts then I will have tried them all. Then I can decide if I want to do a rotation and in what order. I also need to take a new job into consideration so I shouldn't be scheduling extra long workouts....boooooooo! and I have a feeling my workouts will be done in the evenings after the kids are gone to bed.

Belinda** I was trying to figure out how you tried the workouts and your DVDs werent opened....then I remembered that you bought the downloads. You probably don't need the box set if you aren't totally in love with the workouts. Like I said, GS is my favorite still. A friend of mine loves the low impact series best but to each their own. It's nice to have different music and so on. But there is only so many ways you can do a bicep curl:eek:

Ameila** congrats on the weight loss!! And chat with your boss, that's awesome. I like that the job I applied on is weekends off. I'll need that time to spend with my kids.

Phatgyrl** glad to hear you are feeling better.

Deb** yeah, I needed the CPR for PT. Its nice to have anyway. Sounds like you've been kept busy!

I may bb later to report my workout!!

Lori:)

Lori - had to laugh when I read your post.....my husband said the same about the bic curls. Yeah, I bought the dvd/downloads. Thinking DD wants the downloads, she doesn't want them because you need so many equitments, remember she only has a small studio apt. I don't need over 100 premixes either, have already ALL Cathe's dvds which I hardly do anymore. I am not in love with the low impact series either, I hardly pull them out. I still think Xtrain is fun, just not what I expected. I thought the workouts would be shorter like 30-40 min top:rolleyes:? They all run under 1 hour and the leg wo is over 80 min?? Maybe I burned myself out with STS last year? Heck I did the 8.5 month and the 3.5 month rotation:D. I still LOVE STS;) Have fun with ride and legs today. Let me know what you think?

Phatgyrl - glad you are feeling better.

Muscle max time saver done. I was contemplating on doing one of xtrains full body's but there all 80+mins long. I just don't have the patience for that today:eek:

ok...I will bbl. Im feeling the afterburn right now, aww feels good:cool:

Hey everyone! So. . . my observation went very well it seems. I won't know anything until the post-observation interview on Monday. He was smiling during most of the lesson though, so we shall see. I hate the waiting, but I am glad it is over, lol.

I did Xtrain CBS. I am feeling soreness setting in.

phatgyrl= glad you are feeling better and back in business. A wedding! That is something to look forward to.

Amelia- Yea! Congrats on the 4 pounds. That is great! Good workout today. MM is still one of my favorite total body workouts.

Belinda- great cal burn and workout today!

Lori- it sounds like you have the job to me. I think it is great that you met with some other moms and that they were friendly. It must be hard to move some place and not know anyone. At least you have to guts to put yourself out there and meet people, good for you.

Deb- you had a very busy day off, lol. It never stops. I wish I could have one day where I do absolutely nothing. No planning, grading, cooking, cleaning, laundry, no workout too!!!

Cookie- how'd your presentation go?

Off to rest!

Kristin

Hi,

I took a spin class today, there were 2 of us trying for the last bike but I told the girl she could have it but last minute someone realized there was a towel on the bike w/o a person so I was able to spin! I did turbo barre minus upper body tonight.

Belinda - You did do a lot of STS and I can easily see why you loved it but I can see how you may need to do different things for awhile too.

Lori - Ride & legs must be tough to do in one day. How is DD doing in the new school?

Kristin - Awesome that the observation went well! You may need a skinny drink this weekend;)

Amelia - Wow, great news on the weight loss! I always thought you only have to pay if you gain:confused:

Cookie - I hope your presentation went well.

phatgyrl - I'm happy your feeling better & with the wedding you have something to look forward too:)

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, do you think perhaps you did get burned out with all the sts you did last year? I like the little differences in this series and am finding it really gets my smaller muscles good. At first I wasn't crazy about 4-day split, but now I do like it. Twice in ten years for cortizone; it wears on joints, esp hips.
Lori, keep meaning to tell you our puppy is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever - what a mouthful - anyway, what's up with the energy you Canadians have? She's a sweetie but OMG she seriously should be run twice a day. This a breed for you. Any news on the job?
Kristin, glad the obs went well. Thought of you yesterday at that time. I have a meeting with the Commissioner tomorrow, so I'll have to be on good behavior then.
Amelia, wow, 4# is awesome. Congrats. That's rewarding that your commitment is paying off. I'm impressed that you spoke up for yourself to request the time with your darlings. Obviously, I'm not as assertive for myself, so I'm really glad you are.
Phatgyrl, glad you're back. Where's the wedding? Having a big event coming up sure does kick up the motivation.
Deb, good karma coming back at you with the bike yesterday. As I was reading, I was thinking oh Deb don't give up your chance on the bike, so glad it worked out. No help coming w/work but it is truly making me contemplate retiring next year. Don't feel like I'm ready to but I just have far too many different responsibilities to juggle and do well. Bet when I do they'll divide them up among numerous folks.
The presentation went well. I had to develop it, create the PPT, handouts and train two people on it, who then presented and facilitated it. So yesterday I assisted them and then had to do the review. Have to go back to the podiatrist for my foot. Urgent care gave me pain killers but they bother my stomach. Meanwhile I'll do upper body weights since can't do cardio. Today will be sets of 100.
Cookie

Hey girls, Just finished XT All out Hiit double step premix - whats funny is that I thought I chose the double floor premix and was wondering why, during the whole workout, Cathe was doing step :rolleyes:

I will bb this afternoon with personals. Later Gators...

Oh and did you hear the good news? The Falcons LOST, that means I don't have to decorate any more them D@MN Falcons desserts :eek:;)

Morning ladies,

Not sure what I will do today? First I need more coffee:D

Amelia - good job on MM and this morning. I lose interest after 45 min, lol.

Phatgyrl - what are your wo plans today?

Kirstin - yeah, on the doms. Which rotation are you doing? Sorry for asking again.

Debbie - good job on the spin class last night. I sure did a lot of STS last year:eek:, lol. Still love it. I am having fun mixing all my workouts up. I am not in the mood to do another 3.5 month rotation:)

Cookie - I think I got a little burned out on the STS rotations. Maybe I am not ready to commit myself to another 3.5 month rotation? I just want to do what ever floads my boat that
day. Glad your presentation went well. My heal spur started to hurt last night? The swelling is going done, thank goodness. Hope the podiatrist can help your foot. That's a lot of corizone shots.... Those pain killer bother my stomach too. Had to stop taking them. Have fun with your UB wo today.

Lori - how are you doing?

I will be back later. Happy Hump Day, everyone.

I did the timesaver yesterday and I am soooo sore. I am getting my 2nd masters and have study group but I will walk the 2 miles since it will be 25 degrees. Cookie it here in Chicago but at swanky country club.

Hey girls,

Just finished Leslie Swansons 3 mile power walk/46min . I have to say"NOT BAD" I was sweating my butt off. I liked it and it's low impact. My HR got up to 150!

Amelia - now I know why you like Leslie's workouts:p I burned over 536 cal:p I think I will stick to those kinda workouts for awhile;) and the best part...not one jumping jack to get my HR up:p:D That's what I am talking about!!

See you all in the morning. Good night.

Kristin-Glad your interview went well, Im sure you nailed it! Nice job on the workout.

Belinda- I love Leslie's workouts, I have one on tabs for tomorrow morning :D I didn't know we burned that many calories though? Coool!

Deb-Two workouts in one day? Wow - you go girl:) Glad you were able to get a spin bike. Glad to see your feeling better too.

Cookie-Sorry to hear your foot is still bothering you. I hope your job slows down soon so you can relax a little.

phatgyrl-Nice job on Timesaver :)

Hello to lori, hope you had a good day.

Amelia - I wear my HR monitor and fitbit;) they both said the same thing. I kept the wo low impact but intense. Oh, I also used DB's;) I think that that helped! I don't have the belt she used in the dvd, so I used DB's instead.:p

'Evening!
Belinda, that is a lot of calories! Perhaps I should try one of them in a few more days. Hoping my foot is better soon. I have a hard time committing to a month's rotation, let alone 3.5 months! I did do sts twice tho.
Amelia, lol at you and the darn Falcons. Great story line of the two coaches moving on being brothers.
Kristin, were your boys bundled up like the kids in A Christmas Story this morning? So cold here.
Lori, where did you run off to?
Phatgyrl, a second masters?!! You're mine kind of person. My dh laughs that I would probably take classes in smiling if it were offered. I really do like to learn. What are you studying? Swanky, huh? Have you thought about what you are going to wear?
Deb, getting close to your posting time. So both you and Belinda are going to Hawaii this year for your anniversaries. Lucky you. Did both your boys move out? Now it is only my dh and I here and suddenly this house seems large and empty.
Cookie

Hi,

It is so colddddd out there, feel like spending tomorrow under the covers in bed all day . . . guess I would get bored:) Today I took a yoga class. I've been trying to find a dress because DH & I are going to renew our vows since I hope to do it at sunset on the beach have decided to go casual. I see lots of bling dresses but not a simple one yet.

Belinda - I don't own any Leslie's but it sounds like you burned a lot of calories. Too bad we won't be in Hawaii the same time but I can fill you in.

Lori - What are you up to today? It's been in the teen's around here and don't see anyone running, but I'm sure it would be a piece of cake for you;)

Kristin - How are you doing with the cold weather?

Amelia - I thought Atlanta was in the Superbowl, I always have to ask DH & Ds's because I can't get it straight:eek:

Cookie - We still have one DS around other than his non-stop eating he keeps pretty busy. He put on 30lbs this year mostly muscle:eek: Sorry about your foot. Could you talk about going part-time & move into retirement slowly?

Phatgyrl - You have your plate full, but I'm with Cookie I love to learn.

Goodnight:)

'morning! late meeting this evening so want to check in while I can. Also I'm trying to fortify myself before going to basement to workout. I could never be a Canadian - I'm a wimp with the cold.
Belinda, is your ds still living with you? How does using the bike affect your foot?
Amelia, now you'll be on to decorating for Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day. I hadn't thought before of how much of that decorating you must do.
Kristin, hope you don't have the flu.
Lori, -7 here. Even my dogs didn't want to go out this morning.
Phatgyrl, you are busy. Are you working full time at the same time? Women are jugglers. That will be fun shopping for. Lori is a champion shopper and Deb is a marketer, so you're in the right check in. I like to look at the photos.
Deb, wow, this is going to be quite the trip, how lovely. My youngest son lifts a lot and he put on a lot of muscle weight when he first really got into it. Not to sound weird, but it looks good on him.
Okay, coffee in, still cold, but better get some of those 100s in.
Cookie

Morning everyone! I was swamped last night grading midterms, but I did manage to sneak in a workout. I did Xtrain legs, premix 6, barre, ball and chair and floor. I always forget that even though barre has no weights and looks easy, it burns, burns, burns. My glutes were on fire at the end of the workout.

Anyway. . .

Cookie- I hate the cold as well. I wish I had that automatic car starter! How was your meeting with the commish? He is not my favorite person, you know. Ugh! I am so done with testing, and I am not even the one taking the tests. Plus, I am an adult. I cannot imagine how these poor children feel. What are we doing? That is the question I ask myself. My students are taking their science and math midterms this week and they are fried. We don't even have February break to look forward to! Ugh.

Deb- I hate the cold and I envy the people who are going to tropical places, like. . . Hawaii in a few weeks, lol. That is so romantic that you are going to renew your vows! Is it a special anniversary (like 20th or 25th?)

Belinda- I am doing the 90 day rotation (regular). I am loving it. I love that a lot of these workouts are less than an hour. Perfect for the working mom, lol. If I want to, I can make the workout longer with premixes, or I can shorten them up too. You cannot beat that. I am seeing some real definition developing in my shoulders, which I never get, so I am happy. The hardest part was adjusting to how hungry I would get. The first two weeks, plus TOTM made me feel ravenous!

Amelia- how's WW going this week? Do you plan meals in advance or is it the point system. My friend is on her third week and she is loving the results.

phatgyrl- good for you for getting back into the workouts. I love the premixes for XTrain because you can make these workouts longer or shorter to fit your schedule, which means no excuses! Good for you for getting another degree. I often think about going back to school, but with two young boys, I don't think we can afford it.

Lori- are you going for job training today or was that yesterday?

Okay, I have to go put my face on or these kids will be terrified, lol.

Kristin

Ok gonna try burnsets with core tonight wish me luck because the last time I did a Cathe core work I got nauseous, so I hope I can get through it. Oh and Cookie yep I have a full time job! So you see how hard it is to get those workouts in I am so thankful for timesavers because you can get in a good sweat in a short amount of time. And I do have homework tonight!!

Hallo girls,

I just finished Turbo Jam 2. I am in love with TJ. Those workouts are so much fun and the music rocks. You can do them all low impact:eek:

Cookie - how is your foot feeling today? I think using DB's made a difference yesterday. I hear you on the 3.5 month rotations, I just don't feel like committing myself for long term rotations, lol I may change my mind in a few weeks, we shall see. My son is taking a break from school. He will start school next fall. The bike isn't bordering my foot, just have so many other dvds I want to try first:p.

Debbie - like I said I used DB's with the workout, I think that made a huge difference. Have to find something that works, right?

Phatgyrl2 - have fun with BS tonight.

Kirstin - the leg workout is over 80 min for the 90 day rotation? Glad you like Xtrain and seeing great results.

Where is Lori?

Hi Amelia.

Have a wonderful day and workout, everyone.
