Commit to get fit and lean for July!

Happy Saturday everyone. I just finished my workout. I did Step Moves, plus Blast off from LIC and then weight and plates from ab circuits. I needed a good workout after last night's dinner, lol.

We are getting ready to go the Ducks baseball game (minor league team on Long Island). My son's team is going as a group and they are going to go on the field with the players during the Star Spangled Banner. My DS is very, very excited. They also have a fireworks show after the game, so it should be a lot of fun.

Lori- I would wait until Ice Age was playing at a theater closer to you. That seems like a long drive for a movie. I normally wait for Tuesdays to take DS to the movies because my local movie theater has $7 tickets on Tuesdays, which is great. BTW- you had my laughing talking about your baby's poop interrupting your coffee time.

Deb- the classes are $35 plus shoes. Sometimes Jessica gets me a free class. I like the classes, and I like doing something different every once in a while. . . but we have so many plans this summer that spending $40 on a class when all is said and done seems silly. I've been reading a lot about the shooting too. I don't know why I am usually desensitized when I hear news like this. . . something about it. Maybe because going to the movies.. . taking my son to the movies, to see superhero movies is something I do a lot. He wanted to see the new Dark Knight, but I thought it was way too creepy for a 6 year old. Anyway, I cannot stop reading the stories, especially the first hand accounts of what happened. Why anyone would do that. . . could do that is beyond me.

I will bbl or tomorrow at least ;)

Today I did LIC step express #4 it was good and I always wonder why I forget to pick certain DVD's that I really like:confused: I need to get ready because DH & I are going to grab a bite to eat.

Lori - How true we remember weird things but forget the important things:) It's great that your enjoying the weekends . . . a month ago you would not have believed that. I'll look for that thread for you tomorrow.

Kristin - Have fun at the game tonight the fireworks must be awesome. I can see why you like doing LIC, I don't think I'll ever tire of the LI series.

Good Morning :)

My baby slept through the night last night. At first I thought I was in for a horrible night cause he was having a hard time settling. I heard him a couple of times through out the night but he didn't get up until 7:40:eek:. I'm not sure when I went to bed, it was probably around 11:30 so I had a good sleep.

Yesterday's workout was a 10k run outside with the stroller, the. 4DS shoul,bics and tris. I think today will be a circuit with AB. I also need to clean my floors.....and I'll be doing that sooner then later while everyone is content just sitting around.

Kristin** nice workout. I have been grabbing different DVDs lately and just mixing it all up. Sometimes it's what gets me through a workout when I don't really want to workout, which usually isn't that often :p. Hope you enjoyed the baseball game!

Deb** I haven't done LIC in a very long time either. Im not sure if I ever mastered the step moves. I know I didn't in the 4DS workouts. The only cardio I ever did there was BC and KB. I just don't have the patience to learn new things anymore....lol

I may bbl. I don't really have a plan for today. I am going to clean my floors sooner then later and workout when I have a couple of coffee in me and everyone is fed.

Belinda, are you planning on using your new tm today? Bet your dogs are not going to like your new toys, if it means they have shorter walks. I enjoy painting! Love how it changes the look of things and how clean.
Lori, glad you're enjoying the weekends. Did you drive to the movies? LOL at you and your lulu. What workouts did you get?
Kristin, congrats on your ds's great game. How were the Ducks last night? I'd recommend the hiit dvd, since there are three on there, and they're all good. Haven't done circuit blast in a while, but its tough and so is fusion, but what a sense of accomplishment when done.
Amelia, how are you doing? I also love it when my house is quiet!!! Even better if no one else is here!!!! Not that I don't enjoy my family, but hey we all need a break. You are tempting me with your talk of the Wii. Perhaps I'll break down and get one yet.
Deb, how is your dh's eye? Sometimes stress causes that to happen. Do you think that is it? I understand your thinking on cardio at the gym now. I need those motivators as well.
Well the storm on Wednesday ended up cancelling our flight. They offered one on Saturday(!), or on Friday we could have flown from Baltimore to Orlando, then into Albany. Luckily I had already thought quick, reserved two hotel rooms and a car, so spent Thursday driving back and then delivering everyone to their homes. A long day. Which meant Friday was a mad rush to squeeze in things. Yesterday was a 3 mile hike and CrossFire, plus two parties for friends's kids. One of my ds's birthday is today, so we're going to MA to see a museum exhibit he wants to see. Going to fit in a dog walk this morning and hopefully some ub work sometime today. There hasn't been any rain upstate in over a month! The poor farmers.

Hey girls,

Just a quick update: haven't checked in since Friday, as you already know:p For some strange reason, I couldn't log on the Forum:eek: had to reset my password. Not sure, what this is all about?

I did kept up with my workouts, I did Leaner Legs on Friday. Saturday I did High Reps and we walked the dogs. Not sure, if I workout today or not?

We still haven't started painting. Went to Costco yesterday just to pick up dog food, which I forgot to buy:confused: DH and I saw these some very nice tv recliners. Of course, our car isn't big enough to put 2 recliners in:eek: Our neighbor and DH went back to Costco and picked up the recliners. We been looking for chairs for month now, didn't like what we saw. Everything we saw was old fashion recliners.

Maybe we will get the celling done today? Dh is up there patching up holes. We shall see!

Hey girls, quick check in as I have a helicopter DS wanting on the computer (Kristin expression ;))

Yesterday was 40 mins on the wii + a 1 mile walk with the kids outside. Today will be a rest day. I plan on getting up in the morning and getting in a workout before work.

I will try and catch up with everyone after work tomorrow, enjoy your sunday:)
 
Hey everyone. Long day today. We went to my parents' house for a bbq and to go in the pool. Oh my goodness, my dad made amazing ribs. They were so delicious. I did do a workout beforehand ;). I did Drill Max, cardio and upper premix, plus my own ab work (one minute of upper crunches, one minute of reverse crunches, one minute of oblique twists, plank work, full body sit ups with weights). Plus, I ran around with my DS's and nephews. I know I had to have burned more than I consumed, right?

Amelia- you cracked me up with the helicopter son comment. Come to think of it, I think my boys are more "helicoptor-ish" than I am, especially when I am on the phone, lol.

Belinda- nice find at Costco (recliners). Costco does carry some nice furniture from time to time. You just have to be there when they get something in and hope it is something you need because their furniture inventory is in and out. They never keep the same stuff in that regard. It is almost like seasonal items

Cookie- smart thinking on getting a car rental right away. My oh my did you have a busy weekend or what? Are you back to work tomorrow? I hope you get another day off.

Lori- seeing you mixing up the workouts is what inspired my workout yesterday. DS was still asleep and SM is a shorter workout. I felt like I could do more and then just decided to add on, and then add on again with the ab work. He woke up right after that. Yay on your little one sleeping through the night. How long does the baby normally sleep for during the night. I remember being so happy when my DS slept until 3:30-4:00 a.m. I actually got a full four to five hours of sleep then. Do not miss those days. We were at teh baseball game late last night and did not get in until midnight. I was so happy that everyone slept in this morning.

Deb- I think the LIS is my all time favorite. Although, I have been mixing them up a bit with all the other workouts. I am trying to do a rotation next month where every other day is low impact/high impact/weights. Not sure how it will work out.

Hi,

Today was a rest day & rest I did my belly wasn't feeling good so inbetween going to the bathroom I slept & slept. I felt better at dinnertime even ate my sauce & my stomach handled it:confused:

Lori - Same reason here don't reach for step very often because I have trouble mastering the moves. Now that you mention it Cathe hasn't done KB in a long time. Do you mix AB with the TM?

Belinda - LOL at going for dog food & getting TV chairs sounds like movie night will be fun at your house:)

Kristin - The ribs sound really good & it's rare that I eat them. I always think they can't have too many calories since there so little meat on them. Your rotation sounds good.

Amelia - Great workouts! Are you still working part-time?

Cookie - Your week & weekend was so busy:) I hope you were able to fit sleep in there:eek: We had some rain but it still wasn't enough.

Morning girls,

I got up early this morning to get in a workout before work. I decided on 2 segments of LIC. It was fun. I need some more Cathe workouts so Im thinking about ordering the new series (cross fire and to the max) very soon. They look challenging.

Lori-Nice workout yesterday, glad to hear the baby slept though the night. Is that the first time? To answer your question the other day, I started watching what I ate about two weeks ago and the scale hasn't moved:(. So it looks like I will have to take a different approach to this:confused:. Its hard with my job in the bakery...hard - but not impossible. I will just have to tell myself "no" more.

Cookie-Im exhausted just reading about your busy schedule...good for you for getting in a workout. How was the museum?

Belinda-Great job on your workout! High fives on finding recliners, How long have you and your DH been in your new house?

Kristin- awesome workout! Totally agree with you about helicopter kids while we're on the phone. Its so annoying :rolleyes: My 3yr old niece is really bad about that too. Reading your comments about those ribs your dad cooked makes me want to go out and buy some:eek:

Deb-Glad your stomach felt better and you got a good days rest. Whats on tabs for today? I started working full time last year during the summer time when I started training for the assistant Manager program. :)

Lori - I have not bought any lulu yet, lol. Too much money for me! - Did you find the link on the downloads? If not, I will look for it today. Nice job on your 10 miler. Can't believe you already running long distance after having your baby. You go, girl.. What rotation are you doing these days?
 
Kirstin - maybe I will order the new workouts too, when I preorder the new set too? Although the moves looks similar to LIS? Hope you had fun at the game on Saturday. You are right about Costco, it's a one time deal! I never did the UB premix from DM. Nice job! And yes, I think you burned what you comsumed!

Debbie - good point, on the elliptical not been broken in yet! I Didn't think about that. What elliptical do you have? Wow, those classes are expensive!!! Who can affort those? glad you enjoyed LIC step. I love that one. Hope you are not coming down with something! How are you feeling today? LOL, about the chairs, still don't have any dog food.
 
 
Amelia - we moved into the house in Jan. It's 4000 sqft. We still need to paint the living room/kitchen/ 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Good job, keeping up with your workouts.

Cookie - good job on your hike and CF wo. How do you like the new workouts? We bought an elliptical not a TM. The TM will be next! DH is still patching the walls, lots of pop nails! He has to fix them first. we did work on my gym last night.

I think, I caught up with everyone. Need to get busy! BBL!

Lori, 10 miles already?!!! Hope you're taking care of yourself. A friend of mine said she wanted to lose her baby fat - only her last baby was 27 years ago!
Kristin, you definitely worked out more than you ate! Absolutely so. What's the baseball schedule this week?
Amelia, are the bakery items tempting for you? Someone told me once that when they are around all the time, one gets so tired of them there is no appeal. Not sure if that would ever be the case for me. How are your dogs doing?
Deb, hope you're feeling better. How is your dh's eye doing? My dd doesn't care for step either.
Did TTM this morning. Man, that one is tough. Took the afternoon off - a friend's mom passed away, and I'm going over to help her get ready for relatives arriving from out of town. Plus, I have a project to do, and am stymied with how to even start!

Cookie - he will be here around August 15! Aleisa is already in TX to help him. We still have a few weeks. Sorry about your friends mom passing!

Hey Girls

Better late then never right? I was up early this morning but for some reason this page wouldn't open for me. So I gave up and I went ahead and started my workout before the girls arrived. I did Amy Bento's slo mo shoul,bic and tris, HR shoul,bics,tris and abs, 3 mile run and DWP. The rest of my day wasn't very exciting...friend stopped by for coffee, went to DS's soccer and went to my in laws again for supper.

Belinda** look at all the lulu you could have had in place of those stupid recliners:p. You dont seat down long enough...you would have use your lulu a lot more:eek:. I enjoy my spin bike...it's super tough as well. I didn't do the race, just wanted too. I have done 10 miles since having the baby but I normally just run for a hour or so now.

Kristin** I can't imagine my dad cooking anything...nevermind ribs. My mom died everything. So old school. Sounds like you had a nice weekend.

Ameila** if I had to work at a bakery I would be licking the spoons all day long. Def wouldn't be good for the waistline. I made Oreo snowballs the other day and I am the only one eating them. They probably won't live a very long life. You've lost weight before, you know what you have to do. Did you keep a diary and a workout log from before? If so maybe you could go back to that.

Deb** I always mix AB with the tm. I think I did it alone once, probably right after I had the baby. You know me...have to kick it up a knotch. All I have been doing lately is mixing things up. Hope you are feeling better.

Cookie** lol about your friend wanting to lose her baby weight after 27 years. I think she should stop calling it baby weight. :p

So I am thinking about doing a half marathon in oct that is close by. I want to do something but I don't want to have to pay for airfare. If I'm hoping on a plane then it will be to see my husband, not to run a race. I think I have convinced a bunch of girls to do it so it would also be a nice weekend away. It would give me something to work towards and something to look forward to.

I will bb in the morning. Hopefully I will have a better night then last night. The baby woke at 12, DS wet his bed at 3:48 , then he had to sleep with me and he started talking to the baby then and the baby decided to get up at 6:40....fingers crossed for a better night!

Hi,

I did Trisets lower body tonight. I'm feeling much better today. Left work early to go to my inlaws because relatives from NC were visiting. It's funny they were eating subs & pizza for dinner but I was making chicken meatballs tonight & my niece was teasing DH that he is so old school (like your parents Lori;) & he should just eat the food there.

Amelia - I bet you'll like the X-train series because they are shorter & may work with your schedule. The cookies at the bakery would kill me not the cakes. Maybe you could have your own snacks on hand to grab if your hungry.

Belinda - I don't have an ellipitical at home but use the one at the gym. TG my gym doesn't charge for classes because I take a lot of them. It takes awhile to breakin home equipment . . . you'll have to get your family & neighbors to help out:D

Cookie - DH's eye is clearing up believe it or not going in the pool helped it. Sorry about your friend's Mom, it's so nice of you to help out.

Lori - I hope you have a better night tonight with the boys. You probably needed several cups of coffee after today's w/o:). I think you should go for the half marathon since it's close to home & will keep you busy & help the time fly by.

Kristin - Any plans for this week?

Ouchie....my shoulders hurt. I'm not sure about my bics and tris yet but I know my shoulders worked yesterday. And my hammies are still sore from Sunday's GS legs.

The baby woke at 6 to eat and I should have stayed up then. I doozed again until 7 and I felt better at 6 then I did at 7.

I'm not sure what we will do today. DS has soccer at 11 but other then that I have no plans. I don't know if I will workout before or after. I was thinking about doing chest and back. I might wait until later just so I'm not rushed.

Deb** glad your feeling better and that the stomach bug didn't turn into anything. The baby has a runny nose but I think he's teething although my mil has the cold....it just doesn't seem the same. He isn't cranky or stuffed up...more like a dripping faucet:eek:. I think I am going to do the half and I know my running partner will go. I have also mentioned it to 3other girls. One is a good friend and other friends...just not as close as the other two. It would be a nice weekend.

Lori, the half marathon sounds like a good idea. I also like to have something I can plan and look forward to. That's so cute - your son talking to the baby - but not in the middle of the night.
Amelia, I'm with Deb, cake doesn't appeal, but cookies! No surprise there, tho! How are the Braves doing this year? I need to remember to look. Guess that proved I'm not really a baseball person.
Kristin, what do you have planned for the week? Reading any good books?
Deb, the pool helped his eye?!!! Hmm, wonder if the chlorine acted as a disinfectant. We're old school over here also.
Woke up to thunderstorms and a tease of rain. Now it is even more humid than before. TurboBarre for me today.

Lori - your comment made me laugh about lulu . I guess, you got a point! But I needed those chairs, got a tv in our sitting room NO chairs. You are amaze me with your workouts, girl. Good for you!

Cookie - we took a walk instead of painting. We both didn't feel like painting last night. DH finsihed the sanding the walls.

Debbie - we are old school over there also, lol! My gym is only for me and my family, lol. Been waiting a long time to have my own gym. Glad you feeling better today.

Morning girls, I weighed this morning just to peek and I'm finally down 2lbs! Its about frickin' time:eek:

Im off work today so I will enjoy a good workout and get my meals made for a few days. I like to cook ahead of time so I can just grab and go.

Lori- A half marathon sounds right up your alley...go for it girl. back in the day I was very persistent in keeping a food log and exercise diary but for some reason I just dont have the patience for it now :eek:. I figure if I keep my meals at 300/400 calories with a good healthy snack threw in I should be good. The most important thing for me is to not eat at work. period!:eek: Hope your night is better tonight.

Belinda-Nice workout yesterday, did you ever figure out how to post a pic? I would like to see your WO room.

Cookie- Great workout planned for today. I still get tempted by the stuff at the bakery, specially if Im in a bad mood( emotional eater:eek:) but I've learned some coping techniques through therapy that seem to help. Ugh, its hot and humid here too...its like walking into a wall of heat when I step outside.

Deb-Nice job on Trisets LB, I plan on doing that one today along with a walk. I can't wait for the new series to come out.

ok...off to start my day. I will BBL to report my workout.
