Cathe or any Cathletes:
I have been going to Chiropractor and a sports med dr 3xs a wk for the past 3 months for 2 bulging disks and arthritis in my lower back. I just got the o.k. to slowly get back into working out. They suggested walking, pilates and yoga (I don't love these but will do on Dr.'s orders). A little bit about me...I have been working out with Cathe for the past 15 years (6 days a week) and I am a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do (went 3 xs a week). I did gymnastics when I was younger. I am 45 now and have never had any issues holding me back. I only love to work out hard; don't know how to not work out hard. I also don't want to jump back in where I left off and risk re-injuring my disks. I have Cathe's latest yoga workouts and STS abs w/pilates & yoga but other than Slide & Glide I can't think of any cardio that won't be overdoing it. I cannot sit for long periods or lean too far forward just yet (leaves out spinning and some lower body stuff). I have since decided to quit karate-it is a lot of wear & tear on the body. But I really want to get back to the HIITS & Plyos & other fun hardcore Cathe stuff! It has been very depressing not to start my day off with Cathe! I would love to know if anyone has any advice on which workouts would be good to work my way back into it or if anyone has had similar setback.
