~*~*~*~*Come & Melt with me this Tuesday!~*~*~*~

Kara - for goodness' sake, woman! What are you doing to yourself? Go, sit, rest. Don't touch anything!:p

Kristi - of COURSE you're welcome to join us! The more the merrier! And all the better if you like shoes (and cheese).;) The challenge that you're doing with your DH sounds incredible. When I get a second, I'll run over to your link and check it out more thoroughly. And wait... you have twin teenage girls? I bow down before you. I'll be coming to you for advice before long, I'm sure. Anyway, we look forward to having you with us.

Tneah - I love the sound of your gypsy ensemble. I bet you look fab.

Shannon - the market (remember the market?) sells pig's heads specifically for the purpose of making head cheese. Nothing like walking into a farmer's market and seeing a great big severed pig's head staring at you. *shudders*

Leanne - did you find any of those comfy pants? I love mine!

Tneah - I love your outfit, and I haven't even seen it. Don't you think you need to post a pic? :7

Kara - I told you to take it easy today??? And what did you do? Brained yourself on the ceiling fan. You've got the right idea now... go back to bed! Gosh, I hope you're okay!

Kristi - Welcome!! Protocols and rules??? Nope, don't think we have any of those. Come on in, relax, and enjoy. Heck, you don't even have to try to "melt." I don't. :7

Shelley - Yes, I remember the market! And I remember those pig's heads! It's rather disturbing to see a row of heads sitting on display, isn't it? Ewwwww.

Lanie - {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}! I'd say that's a very good excuse to have a milkshake for dinner. Take the kids to a babysitter and go to bed early.

Hi to Kristi!:7 Glad to have ya around!

((HUGS)) to Lainie--4 teeth? Good grief. Like Shannon said a milkshake is in order and get to bed early.

More ((HUGS)) to Kara. Ouch! Maybe you should go to bed too! You poor thing.:-(

My dentist trip went well, going to start the implant process the 19th, surgery actually, not a biggie.

Bought a new vaccum cleaner today since mine went kaput. Glad to be home now since its now 102 outside. Yuk. Sleepy too...see? Hot weather makes me lethargic darn it. I get energized in the cold weather, lethargic in the summer. Weird.

BBL to chat more, have more errands to run...

*runs in*

Tneah - you wonderful, lovely, generous woman! Thank you SO much! I stood outside my front door and cried! They're absolutely gorgeous! Thank you again. I'll take a picture so you can see what they look like:)

I am just happy they arrived! So happy they are pretty too, I was just thinking about ya is all.;)

Hi, all,
Thanks so much for welcoming me! I look forward to getting to know you! It may take me a while to get the hang of things, but I’ll just jump right in.

Kara – I’m sorry about your ankle and your head!! I hope you get some rest this evening.

Shelley – I do like cheese, except the really stinky ones. :) Teenage girls are an interesting challenge – the mood swings can be tricky to keep up with. Fortunately, I have two good, level headed daughters. I’m so excited that you’ll be at RT in July – can’t wait to meet you!

Shannon – Thanks for the welcome! Since I turned 40, I feel like I’m constantly “melting” the same 3-5 pounds! :-(

Lainie – I’m sorry about your teeth – 4 at once – yikes! I hope you are feeling better soon! I agree that it’s a great excuse for a milkshake.

Tneah – Thank you for the welcome, too! Your weather sounds about like mine here in Texas. Hot weather (at least when it first starts) tends to make me cranky!

Thanks to you all again for welcoming me! I hope to BBL, but I need to go cook dinner.

Good evening, everyone!

Just got back from lunch with my dad and his wife, and I had a nice time. They live out on a golf course, so we went to lunch at the "country club," which isn't quite as fancy as it sounds. On my way out there, I stopped off at Target and got this bathing suit for just under $9:

Does it look too much like a $9 bathing suit, though?! It's much cuter in person. I also got this set for just under $18 total:

OK all these cheese head stories have me shuddering! And here I thought that there wasn't a cheese I didn't like!;-)

Kristi -- Welcome, welcome, welcome! :) It's great to have you join our group! Sounds like you have a wonderful plan ahead of you with that challenge! It'll be fun over the coming weeks to learn more about your training and prep for it. Aren't Cathe's workouts wonderful?! I only started working out with her DVD's a little over a year ago, and I became completely hooked! And the people on the forums are so wonderful and kind! You and your DH are such a nice-looking couple! I bet your girls are gorgeous, too!:)

Lainie -- Sending you GINORMOUS {{{HUGS}}}! You poor thing! Thanks for checking in and letting us know how you're doing. Make sure that Brian and the boys take care of you tonight! I like Shannon's idea of having a milkshake for dinner!

Kara -- Eww about your head cheese story! I was "spying" on the 20-pound kettlebell when I stopped by Target this afternoon. I think it's calling to me! ;-)

Shannon -- I probably won't make it to Costco until tomorrow or Thursday, so I'll scout out the comfy pants then!

Shelley -- Thanks for passing along the brand of the comfy pants! Hopefully they'll be at Costco when I go!:) I'm shuddering just thinking of those pigs' heads! Sounds like you got something wonderful from Tneah!:)

Tneah -- You are so dang funny and adorable! I have the total image of you "creatively" dressed as your funky, hippy self out and about today! Glad your dentist visit went well. What kind of vacuum did you buy? Did you get any fun things while out and about today?:)

Kristi -- I just noticed on your profile that you make jewelry! What kinds do you make? I've been doing a little beading for the past few years and really love it. I'd love to see photos of things you've made!:) And I checked out your DH's story on your website. That is just so frightening! What an awful experience to have gone through! And he's doing just fine now? And your two daughters are just beautiful! They look like such sweet girls, too!:) What a beautiful family you have!

Leanne, I am totally digging (excuse me I am in "full on hippie mode" today, your new swimsuit!:) The top is too cute as well...wish I could pull that off, sadly, it would come off as kinda gross cause of the "twins".
Note to Kristi: I have very, very large obnoxious breasts that I am constantly trying to rein in!:7
How awesome you have another jewelry buddy Leanne. Oh, I received the chocolate pudding protein mix stuff from Vitamin Shoppe. Uh, its okay, I still think BSN Lean Dessert (I know Deb will argue this one) is the best, but do like this pudding stuff.

Oh you guys, I have not worked out yet today! I think I might do Slow and Heavy Legs only plus the floorwork from PLB? How does that sound, wimpy? Plus, no cardio unless I do it afterwards but I am just not in the mood today.
I went to Costco today and couldn't find the aforementioned or rather Shelley's "comfy pants'. :-( I did see some that were in a three pack, but the wrong brand, the crotch looked weird and low for some reason.

Off I go, yuk, just do not feel like it today, shame on me. Oh, and I bought one of those Oreck vacuum cleaners, they are super light which is nice...see how lazy I really am? I have to have a super light vacuum!:p

Deb, just caught your post...I have a Kirby, but its too heavy..see? Lazy, thats me! You would simply adore my new Oreck though. Its even got one of those hepa filters.:p

...running by...vacuum? Tneah...did you say you bought a new vacuum??

OMG What kind did you buy? .. you are looking at a vacuum junkie! }( ..I have:

2 Kirby's

1 Hoover canister ( my favorite!)

2 Hoover uprights ( only one works)

1 Electroluxe Broom Vac ( just bought it Sunday at Target!)

various carpet sweepers...

Everytime I say the word...shhhh...DH starts sweating!

RE: ~*~*~*~*Come & Melt with me this Tuesday!~*~*~*~

Hi,
Leanne – You are so sweet! Thank you for all the nice compliments! Yes, Cathe’s workouts are awesome, but I’m learning that there may be even more I want to try – kettlebells, for example. ;-) The jewelry I make is not nearly as beautiful or involved as yours. I haven’t done much seed beading – I work with bigger beads. It’s easier with more instant gratification. My mother, on the other hand, has done some amazing seed bead projects – like Nutcracker amulet bags for my daughters. It seems I give all of the really nice stuff I make to my mother. Btw, your bathing suits are really cute! I’ve been bathing suit shopping lately – ugh! what a depressing experience! Thank you for looking at our website. Yes, my DH is just fine now; since it was an electrical problem that caused his cardiac arrest, they were able to eliminate it, and now he’s “normal.” He has his semi-annual appt. with the dr. in July. Thank you also for your comments about my daughters. They really are good girls – any teenager has her moments, though, I think.

Tneah – I will try not to get your references to your “twins” confused with my twins. :) I hope your workout goes well.

Deb – Hi! Wow, you have a lot of vacuums. I bought my DH a Roomba for Christmas, and he loves it!

I didn’t ever mention my workout from today. DH and I went to swim at 5:30 this morning. The plan was 2100 yards. That’s the distance we will do in the challenge, and we’ve done it several times, but I stopped after 1600. My legs were totally not cooperating; every part, from my feet to my hamstrings, was trying to cramp. After I got home, I did GS legs. I just bought a 20 lb. vest, so I used it for the first time. I liked it a lot, although it was hot. It allowed me to use heavier weights. I felt like I was trying to punish my legs for letting me down at the pool. I’ll probably pay for it tomorrow.

Have a great evening!

Kristi, wanted to say sorry for the lack of personals today on my part, but I am in awe of you and DH and your ironman stuff! I am a terrible swimmer-sink like a rock in the water..but wow, its sooo cool you and DH do this together, I only wish my own DH was into exercise. Years ago he rode his bike 20 miles a day and lifted weights, but now he is so work focused its ridiculous.

I will check out your web site! Want to get to know you better. You will love the gals here, Robin is in Yellowstone right now hiking her arse off!:) I really have been grateful for all the friends I have made on this thread, they really are wonderful women, so welcome once again!

Oh and I just did the Slow and Heavy leg workout followed by the floorwork from PLB. Sheesh, that was actually really hard tonight, I think I will feel it tomorrow for sure.:)

Thanks, Tneah, for your encouraging comments! The swimming is really the yuckiest part for me - I dread it every time! It's just so much harder than it seems like it should be.

I am excited to get to know everyone, and to have some people who really understand my workout interest (fanaticism) and don't just listen politely while secretly rolling their eyes. ;-)

I'll be interested to hear about Robin's trip. My MIL is going to Yellowstone on Thursday with some other older ladies.

Glad you had a decent workout. I like S&H; I haven't done them in a few weeks, but I'll do them again after this challenge is over. I'm going to stick with GS until then.
