CM with barbell - thanks to whoever suggested this!!

Someone, and please forgive me as I do not remember who, suggested trying Circuit Max with a weighted barbell for enhancing the lower body conditioning, and skipping the upper body. CM was on my rotation this morning, and I wanted to try it!

HOLY COW!!! My heart rate was WAY up there. During the last step routine I barely jumped at all, and the ole hr was hovering at 150. My legs are fried!

I followed this with PUB up only and the abs. I'm feeling fabulous right now!!!

I have circuit Max too and I am wondering when are you using the barbell? Are you doing the same exercises just using the barbell instead of hand weights? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I love this workout and would love to change it up a little. Thanks!

Yes, during the weight segments, just use a barbell and only do the lower body exercises. So, you're getting the cardio portions mixed in with heavier lower body workout.

Hey Christine! Nice workout eh?! }( ;) All credit for this gem is due to A-Jock, she posted it a while back and I've done it a few times since, I gave it another go last weekend and am thinking maybe again this weekend with your upper body work tacked on. Great work!

I love that fabulous post workout feeling!!!....It keeps us coming back again and again and....:)

Take Care

Yes, thank you to Aquajock. I've done this several times now too. I use 35 pounds on the barbell and it is just right, cardio-wise. I like this so much better I don't think I'll ever do it again with the upper body moves in there.

I remember that post too. Oh my, I'm just going to have to order Circuit Max right now! Cardio kicks comes with it, right? Oh boy, here I go again!

Thanks for bringing this up again. (I think ;-) )

Then - THANKS AQUAJOCK!!!! You've kicked my butt several times! I did it with 40 pounds and it was a little tough with the front and rear lunges, but I liked the burn I got. I'm feeling it a bit today - it's still a wonderful feeling. I just simply adore Circuit Max. It's fun and verstile!

This is such a great idea. I love lower body circuits, but you can only do CTX Power Circuit and Boot Camp Cardio & Lower so many times in one month! I bet this would work out pretty well for Cardio & Weights too. Isn't there a cadio & compound weight premix? Lower body w/a barbell would sub in nicely, I think.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Aw shucks folks . . . I'm blushing, I'm blushing!

Glad all of you enjoy the magic that is Circuit-Max Barbell! I like to do that, and then flip over to the Cardio Kicks power drills, bang those out and then add on a final set of 16 squats, 16 plie squats, and then 16 each leg lunges for a final blast. I gauge the intensity of a workout by the amount of ice water I drain from my super-sipper, and C-Max Barbell always makes me empty it!

If you ever get burned out on C-Max Barbell, do a search on the Open Discussion forum for my true mish-mosh masterpiece, "Satan's Mish-Mosh". This one is in the thread entitled "A New Mish-Mosh Takes The Stage". A cool combo of Rhythmic Step warm-up, Body max Power Circuit segment, and Gauntlet I-Max2 and Boot Camp blasts with do-it-yourself squats and lunges thrown in.

Yes we can always count on AquaJock for new and amazing ways to kill ourselves... *winks* That actually sounds good - but I might look it over and sub HCE #1 instead of Gauntlet. I don't have the terminator DVD.
